Right here in Tampa FL Hooters is a place for some good breaded wings. The breaded wings with 911 sauce are my favorite. Add some fries and celery with blue cheese and a beer and I'm in heaven. The service is always top notch and the girls are service with a smile. The ambiance is casual with an orange theme. I've never had a bad meal here whether I eat it there or get it to go. The fried Buffalo chicken sandwich has replaced the wings as the star of show. The sandwich was tender, meaty and flavorful while the wings were the exact opposite. Charging extra for dressing was tasteless too. We spent only a few minutes inside waiting for take out, but I got the sense the environment was warm and welcoming. The Hooters wings are like fried chicken in wing form, with a breading that reminded me of Applebee's. They lack the freshness of places like Buffalo Wild Wings or Wingstop, but they're still decent. This Hooters on Gandy Blvd used to be good when John was the manager. The last few months it has really gone downhill. We went on Monday March 31st, 2025; my cheeseburger was so well done I could've used it as a sponge, I ordered medium. We also ordered Daytona style wings. They were the tiniest wings I've ever seen. Maybe the size of my pinkie. The manager noticed we were staring at the wings in disbelief and offered to throw a couple more wings are way. We declined. He stated that's the only size wings available that aren't frozen...not sure why when other places have no problem getting med size fresh wings. Especially when they're almost $17.00 for ten wings. And to top off, one of the cooks keep randomly screaming and yelling out of the blue, not sure if he was on high something or has some kind of issue. As soon as we sat down, this girl approached us and play some napkins down and said our server will be right over, then she proceeds to come back, and say never mind I guess she was cut, I'll be your server, and that was the moment I should have known that everything was going to go downhill from there. You should have told me When you ordered it next time, and that that was not how they came, and that they came breaded and naked. Not thinking she was understanding what I was saying and honestly I didn't wanna argue with her. I said OK whatever waited a few moments and I went up the bar to ask somebody else who I believe was the manager came over and agreed with us that these were not Daytona style wings, apologize and took them back immediately and remade them for us the correct way after this our server basically ignored us and had a pissed off look on her face for the rest of the time she would not refill any of my drinks, or take any dirty dishes off of our table the person who fixed order, had to refill my drink. Took another 15 minutes or so to my us a new order since the Daytona wings take longer so that was a little frustrating to wait longer, anyway as soon as the food was delivered we asked for a check! and we pay and tip. We noticed on the check that they had to delete the original wings she rang In because Daytona wings cost more and we saw The void on the check! What nerve to be so rude When YOU'RE WRONG! My partner went to the bathroom and she came back to collect our receipt to see what we tipped while I was still sitting there! This was merely a to-go order of their world famous chicken wings. There was only 1 table of patrons eating which is never a good sign. Went here tonight after work to just chill and have a good time. It was not overly crowded, but had enough people present to still be a lively Friday night hangout. I've been here before and have enjoyed the scenery. There is indoor and outdoor seating, along with plenty of TVs if you are heading out to watch a game. During Rays baseball games, they offer $3.50 big daddy Budweiser beers. Mondays and Wednesdays have food deals. The staff is friendly and rather efficient. I have never had a bad experience with the service. Tonight, my friend and I asked to split the bill and the waitress was happy to do so. The food has always been served hot and as expected. I've had the boneless wings, curley fries, a few appetizers and the drinks. I recommend the Top Shelf Long Island. It costs $7.19 and packs a punch. I also enjoyed the 25 oz mug of Sangria for $5. They serve good craft beers (can't go wrong with a Jai Alai!). There is plenty of parking and there is open seating (just walk in and seat yourself). I was in Tampa for business and decided to stop by for wings and a beer. Wow. They were so greasy. Literally dripping in grease. It made me nauseous. I think they might be using a cheaper frying oil at this location because for some reason the oil sticks to the food. Either that or they haven't changed the oil in the fryer in a long time. I ate my food, left my tip, and left knowing I will never return. Before your try, no Leah, I will not stop in again at some point soon to give you another chance. I ordered my food online; 8 breaded wings (medium) double dipped and fried extra crispy, with blue cheese and onion rings. I chose the curbside to go pick up. Once I placed my order, I received an email with a receipt and a text with a link to click when I was on my way. The email said my food would be ready at 12:08. I got to the restaurant at 12:04, parked in a To Go spot and clicked the link to let them know I had arrived. At 12:24, I went inside the restaurant only to see my food ready to go at the bar. The bartender was very polite. She told me that for some reason, the tablet they use to let them know we have arrived doesn't always work. She also told me my food had just come up so it wasn't cold. Well, my wings are not breaded as requested and my food was cold. There was also lots of sauce floating in the bottom of my bag. No, I never turned the box sideways. I called the store to let them know my issue and the manager who was also very polite apologizing and offered to fix my order, but I was unable to go back to the restaurant since I'm only supposed to take 30 minutes for lunch. Instead, he gave me a refund. I do appreciate how polite everyone on the staff is, but they need to work on making sure orders are fixed correctly and their system works. read more

My honey and I decided to stop in here since he was craving wings. I was not craving wings so much but figured I could find something else on the menu, and I did! I went with the fish tacos. I believe they were about $8-9. The order brings 2 fish tacos with all the trimmings and a side. For my side I opted for tater tots. The amount of tater tots I got as a side was very small but since I shouldn't be eating tots anyhow I will not complain. The fish tacos were okay, I was not impressed. So I've left the safety of Norfolk and Vah Beach and have made it all the way to Tampa. I figured why not celebrate the fact with trying out the nearby Hooters and see if it compares to my regular spot on General Booth. First off the place is very spacious. Plenty of room for you and your buds/lady friends. Second, while we all come to Hooters to experience the same thing, the menu has alot more to offer than just wings. I will try the wings on my next visit, whenever it may be. The service was alright, seeing how it seemed like the food and drinks should have come sooner, seeing how the place wasn't that busy. They have a good amount of beers on tap and the food is standard Hooters fare, however the menu had a bit more than what I was used to seeing at other Hooter locations. I will also agree with Steve that the selection of wing sauces was lacking. I noticed different Hooters serve different sauces and while I kind of like how the menus kind of make each place unique, they should at least have the same sauces. I ordered shrimp with medium sauce. The waitress didn't realize I had no sauce on my shrimp. Since the shrimp was on the verge of being cold, I asked another server for medium sauce. You can see what Was given to me. I ate 3 shrimp without sauce, and was never asked about my food. Once the check came I let the server know what was going on. I pointed to the "sauce" and asked if she would eat that. I got two apologies from her, yet I still was made to pay for the uneaten shrimp. Highly pissed and upset about this so I have to write a review. Long story short: we put in an online order and the food wasn't even started by the time we got there 20 minutes later so we ended up not having food. Detailed story: We put in a mobile app order so that we could have food ready when we got to this location. We drove 10 minutes out of the way to eat here but it's what us and the kids all agreed to eat. 20 minutes later when we get there, not only is the food not ready but they know nothing about it. Why? Because no one was paying attention to the printer that prints the online orders so the ticket was just sitting there. The bartender tried to start the order, which is what made us aware that it hadn't been started or sent to the kitchen. My sister and I went outside to ask everyone if they wanted to wait but since it had already been 20 min ago since we put the order in and we would've had to wait 15-20 minutes more to get it they didn't want to...So my sister and I went back inside to get the card refunded. The manager, Johnny, goes to the back to do the refund and comes back like 4 minutes later saying he couldn't and has to call IT. That confuses me because we didn't have to call IT to charge the card so we had to leave our information so he could try to do it later and then call/email us back. As a manager, I would've had the kitchen drop the food while we went out the the car to see if everyone wanted to wait or not and ran a refund on the card anyway since it's the fault of the restaurant that the food isn't ready (not the customers). All we got was a lame "I'm sorry about that" and that's it. This is NOT how you run a restaurant. Because instead of him fixing our situation, we walked out with no food and no refund. Fixing the issue would've been a good thing but since it's not, this review will change the choice of future guests who may think about going here. This is a shame for Hooters; especially with all the competition. And they weren't busy! It's was about 14 ppl in there and most were sitting at the bar. DONT WASTE YOU TIME OR MONEY! Actually I don't enjoy wings anymore grew out of it, and Hooters is not the only wing game anymore so with so many locals it has lost a lot of early days luster and glory with original location on Gulf to Bay.
