I stopped in one day to buy a soda and the selection looked really good so I decided to come back the next day for a dozen. I came in around 7:00 and everyone was so nice positive! A rarity at that time of the morning. :) The donuts smelled so fresh, and they were so plump that it was like playing Tetris to get all 12 donuts to fit in the box! Other places have room to spare with the same size boxes. My coworkers couldn't stop talking about how crispy yet soft and almost creamy they were on the inside. They were so light too! Almost everyone couldn't help but get another donut and those that missed out on their second one had to know where I bought them and said they'd pay me to get more than a dozen next time! It was our first time visiting this donut shop, and I can tell already that we will be returning customers! Ken greeted us right away as my sister and I walked in. We asked him many questions about the different options, and he was patient enough to answer all of them! I had such a fun time exploring everything. These people really know donuts. Sheesh! So many people are scared of a little color on their baked goods, but not Hooz. These donuts are nicely browned and a little crispy on the outside. These are honestly some of the best donuts I've probably ever had (and I've had several). My favorite are the donut holes and the old fashioned, but you really can't go wrong with any of the other varieties. The donut shop gets kudos for selling donuts that are not very oily or overly sweet and inexpensive at 9.49 per dozen (including tax). The staff is nice, too. However, the donuts have a strong oil taste. Perhaps they need to change the oil more often--if they don't already. You'll probably have a hard time finding this place as the sign is very plain and white. The shop is nestled into the corner of the building next to Quizno's and to the left of Safeway. I only come here for the sugar and chocolate bar donuts as they are fresh and so good! You know how some sugar donuts are tasteless and you can only really taste bread and no sugar? Well Hooz donuts sugar donuts are very rich in a sweet sugary taste and the sugar actually stays on the donut and doesn't sprinkle all off. The chocolate bar donuts are really moist and chocolaty... I walked in on a Saturday morning at 10:00 AM and there were literally like 15 donuts left to chose from, no more chocolate bars... It's always like this though, if you come past 9:00 AM don't expect a variety to chose from... Donuts are $$ here. It's a dollar for a basic donut, Really? They are usually like 60 cents elsewhere Now as far as the atmosphere of the donut shop, it's pretty gross and dingy! I mean the floors and walls are disgusting, the tables inside are ancient and this place needs a face lift for sure... I came in to place a specific order for my daughter's birthday party only to come in the day of to no order ever noted anywhere. I had 2 dozen sprinkled donuts in place of cupcakes per my daughters request so I was pretty pissed off nothing was available. I took whatever donuts they did have which was slim pickings--8 sprinkles donuts and a couple maple ones. The guy there did give me a discount which he should have anyway because I wasn't even able to leave with enough donuts. He didn't seem too concerned for his partners mistake either.
