I enjoyed having dinner here but it's not somewhere that I'll rush to come back to. The food was delicious but I found the restaurant a little loud and I didn't like the entrance. It says to see a waiter before sitting but then nobody came to talk to me. There's a sign that says to order before sitting down. But where do I order? A little confusing in my opinion. Parking can be tricky at this mall too....very busy to get a spot close by.
Had dinner with my family after a trip to Manhattan Beach. My kids wanted burgers so we picked this place at The Point... the food is ok. We didn't love it but didn't hate it either. The burgers we got were small and the fries were too dry. The burgers were juicy and good but as I said small. My teenage boys wanted a second one. They also ordered milkshakes and enjoyed it much. The ambiance is nice so is the customer service. Prices are on the higher side.
I ordered the Goodnight/Good Cause bowl (sauce on the side), a shroom burger with two patties, and a large regular fries for pickup on a Friday night. I understand Fridays are busy and that's completely fine, but I expect a chain restaurant to have a system that gives customers who order directly from their website an accurate pickup time. My order was 20 minutes late to the pickup time in the confirmation email, and by the time I actually got my food, I had been waiting over 30 minutes. If the timing had been accurate, I would've planned to arrive later. The pickup line was long also but while waiting, a staff member was walking around handing out samples to dine-in customers. They walked directly past those of us waiting for pickup orders and all the while making full eye contact with me. If there are lines on both fronts, both sets of customers deserve the same courtesy. As for the food... very sub-par. Even eating it about 10 minutes after pickup, the burgers were somehow lukewarm, dry, and still pink inside. I truly don't know how that's possible. The fries were also disappointing. You get a decent amount, but for a burger place, they should be much better. The salad portion of my bowl was fine (thankfully), and I did appreciate that the dressing was on the side as requested. My salad was the best thing in the order, and it's a burger place. Overall, I was very disappointed. Busy or not, long pickup delays and mediocre food aren't worth it. Waiting over 30 minutes for a dry, lukewarm burger just isn't acceptable.
To whom it may concern, I went to have lunch with a good friend at your establishment Hopdoddy Burger Bar at The Point. I cannot believe that the kitchen manager (Rob) was so rude and disrespectful to our cashier (Finn) because he had ask for assistance in entering a coupon onto our order. It's sad to see staff being treated with such disrespect let along in front of waiting guests. It's a shame. Don't think we will be stopping back here. Thank you.
Everyone at this location is always nice and had a chill ambiance, even though the bartender was a little roudy on this day considering the location and how quiet it was otherwise. I really enjoy the El Diablo burger, it's nice and spicy and the caramelized onions add the perfect balance. This time I added the truffle brussel leaves and the new salted watermelon cooler and was disappointed in both. The brussel leaves were mostly burned and dry and the salted watermelon cooler was too salted. I will stick to the usuals next time.
Disappointed. Robert (according to the receipt he was our cashier) nearly cost this location our business permanently. He was rude, unprofessional and incredibly bad at his job. It was Sunday and it was busy. I usually go and it's not busy but due to football they had a long wait. We waited about 15 mins, no biggie as we like the food so much so we take my brother for his first visit... Due to the long I suggest to my husband to grab a table so we don't take up as much room and he can play with our baby. When we finally get to the register Robert greets us and asks how many. We tell his 3 and a baby then he gives us a table number. I told him "my husband took a table already due to the long line is that ok?" Guess he was offended I mentioned the waited time so he gets argumentative and says that there was a huge sign at the entrance I couldn't of missed. Took a photo of the sign when we left, it wasn't visible as they put menus in front of the sign for the record. Then I try to redirect his attention to our order as the line is still long and we were eager to order. I begin to say if like to start with the truffle fries and sweet potato fries and he tells me to slow down as if I rushed the words out. Then as we proceeded to order her mutter the order in a different phrase as if we weren't using the right terms. My brother was frustrated at the first impression of a place I was excited to have him. Then when I asked him about what one of the cocktails contained he replies verbatim "oh shit I can't remember"... Surreal. He ended up asking a coworker to help answer me... When I paid I decided to tip him less than the recommended 15 or 18%. When the receipt printed he didnt hand it to me until he looked to see how much I had tipped. Usually I don't stiff staff on tips because I know it doesn't just go to the one person in most cases. So I did leave a tip at the table. I do want to commend the bartender and runners Bert & Finn who were amazing. Shout out to the kitchen staff too who managed to get out food out in less time that it took to order it. They were literally running. At one point Finn had an impressive amount of cups balanced that he brought out to restock for customers. The boozy banana foster shake was a 10/10. Food was a bit over salted this visit but may have been due to the rush they had. Not sure if we will be back but if I return and Robert is the only cashier, as was the case this time, I won't be ordering from here. This was the first time I've had such a terrible experience. In past visits they weren't so busy so we could sit anywhere.
Our first visit won't be our last. This burger joint was hopping in the middle of the afternoon. Fynn greeted us and made us feel welcome while describing the burgers. The smash burger was especially good. We loved the special sauce, and added lettuce and tomato which was not included. The shroom burger wasn't as successful. I think the pesto and goat cheese got a little muddled. The pineapple margarita with Prosecco was a huge hit! We also enjoyed the skinny fries with chile queso dip. Comfortable booths and hip music made for a nice atmosphere.
We stopped here for happy hour since we were in the area and on our way to see the Clippers basketball game. It's a great burger place and I even recommend the ahi burger. The fries were hot and yummy. The burger was huge and seasoned perfectly! They have a nice selection of beers on tap. So nice and cold and refreshing! We will be back the next time we are in the area!
[ Food ] I ordered the Mother Nature burger and it was good. The patty was on the saltier side but everything else went well together, just keep in mind it can be a bit messy because of the egg yolk. The Green Chile Queso Fries was really good, I can put the queso sauce on everything. [ Service ] Customer service was good. [ Parking ] There's a big parking lot at The Point, so it shouldn't be too difficult finding parking. [ Restroom ] There's a restroom.
Really solid burgers and the only thing worth coming for. We came on a Friday afternoon and it was really busy and got the last table left. You have to walk up to order which in my opinion means the food should not be the same price as a sit down restaurant. (Their paying system also forces you to tip btw). The service was not great, the cashier kept drinking a soda while taking our order and pausing to drink from it, he took orders like this which led to a long slow line. The drinks took a while to come out and ended up coming out at the same time as the food which was pretty fast but really annoying to me because I felt I could not enjoy the drink. It felt like fast food with more seating but high prices. The margaritas were overly sweet in my opinion too but you could still taste the tequila so not horrible. Both the burgers we tried were really good and so were the fries. The food is definitely worth coming for but not worth the hassle we dealt with.
The Baseline: For a Burger-joint the burgers, fries, and drinks are prepared well, done with properly applied ingredients that should taste good, and any unique offerings should not take away from the basis of the burger itself. Food: Known for burgers, serves great burgers, and this is a place for burgers. Yes it is a chain but it is a gooooooooood chain. The meat is high quality, the fries are crispy and well salted, and the drinks make you want more drinks. Burger: crumbly decadent beef that mixes with the pillowy bun and other toppings you select to create pure joy in your mouth. Fries: Tossed in a salty goodness and served in a mixin' bowl. You dip in what you select and the selection is awesome. Shakes: Real ice cream and blended with the flavors you want/need/desire on the menu. You can opt to add booze and Peanut Butter whiskey is a choice on the menu. Beers and Margaritas: Served in a fish bowl frosted to keep me frosty. Service: Follow the order of Operations and you will do fine. Servers will deliver the food to your table and the counter server will make sure you have an assigned table ready. If you need anything from the Bar the bar tenders will get it. You walk up to the counter to get something and they will help. Great service at Hopdoddy. Ambiance: Burgers and Beer is the theme and the seating is comfortable and well arranged. The restaurant is welcoming and clean. The bathrooms were clean and serviced. The outdoor patio area was also comfortable.

This place is a nice burger lounge at the point across the way from the Manhattan village. It had modern gastropub interiors and playful fonts and decorations and a couple of sports TV set up in the corners. You go up to the counter to order prior to seating. The cashier was friendly enough as I ordered an El Diablo burger and a banana foster shake. They do ask what level of doneness you want the burger which I just let the cashier decide. The shake was way too sweet for me but it did taste like delicious custard and bananas. The texture was mostly smooth but the overwhelming sweetness really kills it. The el diablo burger packed an explosive punch that set my mouth ablaze. The pepper jack and onions help with the flavor of the beef, which was itself delicious, and the sauces added complexity to the heat. Be warned that this burger is really spicy but I think the flavor of is pretty well done for a burger. All in all, worth trying again but the blemish of that shake is pretty sad for such a nice flavor. read more

Easy eats burgers at The Point. Went for a weekday lunch - grabbed the El Diablo burger and some queso fries. Was delivered pretty quickly. The burger was pretty good - a little oily but tasty nonetheless. The queso fries - wish it was proper queso with chips, but wasn't bad. Worth a workday lunch. read more
Hopdoddy is fantastic! I love to sit at the bar and order my drinks there while I wait for my meal. The menu has a ton of options for you to order the burger you want! The large basket of fries are okay to share. It's good for 2 people but I still thought it wasn't enough considering my boyfriend and I like to have our own. The Cadillac burger is great, I loved it. They also offer a wide variety of shakes that are all delicious. I love this place because the service is fast and it's a fun place to sit and watch the game. They have TVs and it's family friendly. You get a number to hold when you order and the food is brought out to you. If you aren't seated at the bar, then you order at the back at the cashier and find yourself a table. I was in the neighborhood, so I decided to try this restaurant. Let's start with the service. The employees were friendly and helpful. The food arrived much quicker than I was expecting, especially with how busy it was. Now for the food. I ordered the green chile and queso fries, the chilli cheese fries and the Diablo burger. The fries were fresh, crispy and very flavorful. The queso was very tasty. The chilli cheese fries were also a winner. The chilli that they make here is some of the best chilli that I've ever tasted. The burger was small, but still flavorful. I was expecting much more heat from a burger labeled as a "Diablo burger." Diablo burger - 8/10 Green chile queso fries - 8/10 Chilli cheese Fries - 8.5/10 Service - 9/10 Overall, I had a very good experience here. If I'm in the area again, I'll definitely try the Diablo burger again, but with their chilli cheese added to it. read more
Hopdoddy is such a great convenience . Perfect for big parties and just going on a date. Upon arrival you would order at the cashier as well as pay for your meal so you wouldn't have to worry about getting a waiter at your table. They will assign you a table to sit at and they will bring your food then. I love how flavorful their meals are I got the wagyu burger and my husband got the classic burger both were great . the size of the burger is a perfect size not to big and not to small as well as its easy to consume. Service was good but the Cadillac Burger fell flat. It was cooked too well done (not what I asked for) and was not the juicy burger I thought it would be. Very dry. Fries and the sauces were good though. read more

The burgers came quickly with the sides. The food was really good. We loved the brussel sprouts and the burgers were huge. The diablo salad bowl was huge too, couldnt finish the whole thing so I got a to go box. They forgot our milkshakes so we didnt get them until after our meal was done. The cashier and server were nice and friendly. The milkshakes were a bit overly sweet so I just added more liquids to it when I got home. Overall great spot for families and friends. Great for groups. This is my second time here. Would bring my friends here again in the future. read more

Absolutely great service and food. Just happen to stumble on this establishment and me and the family were happy we did. Maddy who took our order was great and Mike who brought out our food was just as terrific as Maddy. The food was delicious and came out very quickly. There is plenty to do in this shopping center. The burgers were delicious. The fries are thin cut, they were kinda average but still tasty. I am gluten free due to a wheat allergy and their gluten free buns were really good, like real bread good according to my husband who is not gluten free. The banana foster milkshake was amazing. read more

The atmosphere is welcoming and the staff is very friendly and helpful. Maddy & Shawni make sure you are taken care of from your drinks to your food. First time at Hopdoddy Burger Bar and I'm already a fan! We tried three burgers: the Original with smash patties, the El Diablo, and the Magic Shroom. All three were super tasty. The Original was simple and just right, the Diablo was no joke spicy (in the best way), and the Shroom had such a delicious mix of flavors. Burgers aren't giant, but honestly filling and really fresh. Atmosphere was chill, food came out quick, and the service was awesome. Quick recap: - Food: Tasty - Portion size: Average - Service: Average - Environment: Fast casual (order at the counter, food delivered at the table) - $: Average - Perks: N/A More details: We went there on a Friday night. First off, like the ample parking offered at The Point and knowing we will not spend a lot of time looking for a spot. Then the place is pretty popular. There was a line from the moment we walked in (7pm) until we left (8.30pm ish), but you do not wait long to get to the register. You order at the counter and go wait for your food at a table (they bring it to you). We ordered a Double bacon jam ($12.95), a Kids burger meal ($8.50), and a Kale Ceasar Salad ($8.5). The double bacon burger was good. The kids meal is of good size, but note the burger is only the patty and some ketchup. Was a bit disappointed by the fact that they only have ceasar salad dressing (no vinaigrette, other type of dressing, or plain olive oil and vinegar). Perks: The outdoors table and the other shops around at the point Overall? Good, recommend. read more

Fairly impressed with Hopdoddy. Came here for a quick bite, burgers were great and the fries were even better! I got the double bacon jam burger, it was juicy and the flavors all worked well. The sweet potato fries were amazing, loved the flavor and the way they fried it was delicious! The person who took my order didn't seem very happy to be there but other than that, food came out fairly quickly and loved that they had various sauces to try. Their chipotle ketchup was pretty good, went well with the sweet potato fries as well as the burger. All in all, would come back to try their other burgers/sandwiches if I'm in the area. It was just an okay experience; nothing special. Other than the water I was drinking having random stuff in it (it looked like bunched up paper which was kinda gross), the food and drinks were fine. The experience wasn't anything that went above and beyond or made me feel like I'd really want to come back. The service was alright as well, there were friendly employees all around. The inside was pretty spacious and they had outdoor seating as well. Oh and they have happy hour as well. read more

The half pound Wagyu patty is incredibly rich and juicy, providing a buttery foundation for the crunch of steakhouse bacon and crispy fried onions. What really elevates the experience is the sophisticated layering of flavors the earthy punch of truffle aioli and savory steak sauce are perfectly balanced by the brightness of roasted tomatoes and fresh arugula. Great option for families/groups while trying to grab something to eat at the point. Kinda reminds of Umami burger. Yummy quality burgers. averages around $15 for a burger without any sides or drinks. Fries are for shareable $9 for their truffles fries but good to share for 2-3 people. They have a full bar inside here too and for dessert they offer milkshakes read more
My first time at Hopdoddy was a great experience. This location is at the Point where it can get pretty crowded and parking can be a pain depending on the day/time. They had a good amount of seating though, inside and outside. We ordered our food at the counter and found a table that was big enough for 7 of us. The food didn't take too long, granted it wasn't that busy when we went. We got the parmesan truffle fires, traditional sweet potato fries, parmesan truffle brussels sprouts, and hot honey and sage brussels sprouts (all large). All the sides were great to share! I got the classic burger and I will say it was definitely no the smaller end for $11, but it was still good. Can't really go wrong with a classic burger, but I definitely would try a different one next time I go. read more
