The parking lot is pretty small and tends to get pretty full during lunch on weekdays with so many business buildings nearby so I would keep that in mind. I really wanted to love this Shake Shack location because the customer service was amazing. The cashier went above and beyond--especially since it was our first time. They were kind enough to add cheese on our fries for us to try, which we genuinely appreciated. That level of friendliness and willingness to help definitely stood out. That said, the main reason for the 3-star rating was the taste of the burgers. We felt they just weren't up to par, especially considering how hyped Shake Shack is. The burgers didn't have the flavor or wow factor we were expecting, and overall they fell a bit short compared to the expectations set by the brand. The burger was delicious and the seasonal peppermint bark shake was delicious but maybe I have diabetes from it now. Helpful hint: when the cup is half empty or empty squeeze the cup so the peppermint bark breaks off from the cup. Now you can eat the bark. Winning. They are both expensive but I only go to Shake Shack US about once every two to three years. Shack Shack Japan is a different story. The restaurant here was clean and quiet but I was there at 11 AM. There were three kiosk machines available to order or you can go to the cashier. They open late for a weekend. This location was semi busy at 8ish. Games to play at the restaurant, too. I really like their burgers and add on's. This burger reminds me of a smash burger but smaller but bigger than In-N-Out. I ate the burger so fast, I forgot to take a picture of it and the fries. Also, I really like the fact they have a pop a shot mini basketball station that you can entertain yourself with while you wait for your food. So, if you know me, you know I don't really eat fast food, or hot dogs. But last weekend, I had both, for the first time in 2024. Not that I don't ever - it's just rare. Went and had lunch with a nephew who said he hadn't been there yet. Parking - pull around behind the location and you'll find the parking lot. Free. There's also valet. Not sure why I'd valet unless there were not spots, but there was so not sure what other options you'll have if the lot is full. No real service to speak of. Ordered on a kiosk and the food was brought out. Pleasant staff member who brought the order out. But otherwise, no table service not that we needed anything. As for the food - the hot dog came with cheese. For my taste, I would have liked to see more or different ingredients. Probably some chili or something. Not sure what as I don't eat hot dogs enough. Then there was the chicken sandwich. Felt it was ok. Wished it was spicier - seemed bland to me. For both items, plus a drink, felt it was pricey. I know - first world problems. Holy cow, came in around 10:45 am as I was waiting for my car to get serviced and wasn't hungry. The guy behind the counter suggested an order of fries or onion rings. I ordered both and I can say they were the best tasting fries and rings I've ever had. Crispy but moist inside and perfectly salted. After eating a few of each I got super hungry and ordered a single patty burger. Awesome! Beef flavor is wayyyyy better than in and out my usual burger go to. I don't know if they fried with old oil or what, but every bite had an awful bitter after taste. Then i thought surely the fries must be better. I was incorrect. If you know, you know. Shake Shack fans in the South Bay rejoiced when this location opened on Rosecrans. With their super soft potato buns, crinkle cut fries, and custards and floats, this place is always an indulgent treat. Shackburgers are our classic go-to. Just discovered that you can customize it to also include pickles and sliced raw onions at no extra cost. Fries could've used an extra dash of salt, but still hit the spot. Note: Chick'n Bites might be a tad too much pepper spice for sensitive kiddos who find it to be a little too much spice. We also miss the Chicago dogs, which disappeared from the menu, so the flat top dogs are only served plain with no extra toppings. I have been going to Shake Shack locations throughout different states for over 7 years. During that time, I have decided that while although there are many fine fast food burger places in America, Shake Shack is my favorite. My most recent visit to Shake Shack was at the El Segundo location, having arrived back from a trip to Florida and being aware Shake Shack had a new burger, I swung by on my way home from the airport. I ordered the SmokeShack (my benchmark favorite) and the Bourbon Cheddar burger, along with two fries and two beers. As usual, all the food was sublime. My SmokeShack was perfect as were the fries. The new Bourbon burger was great and very high quality, but in mind does not hold a candle to the SmokeShack or even the original. The bourbon sauce was great, but the not-do-crispy onions and serving of cheese did not add enough texture or taste. As such, I would probably give it a 3/5. While I would typically give Shake Shack a five out of five stars, this restaurant location in particular had a few hiccups. First, this location did not have the very popular Shack Meister ale on draught, and instead gave it to me in a can. Also, the wait was extraordinarily long despite the restaurant seeming to be well staffed. All in all, I always recommend Shake Shack, but do not particularly recommend the new bourbon burger or, at peak hours, this location. read more

Since having frozen custard in Chicagoland (thee best place to get it), this is my 4th review primarily on places that serve frozen custard. To recap from my other reviews, the USDA says "that for a product to be marketed as frozen custard, it has to have at least 10 percent milkfat and 1.4 percent egg yolk solids." (wiki/frozen_custard) So that less than 2 percent egg acts as a binder and emulsifier to give it a super smooth texture and creaminess. Also ice cream and frozen yogurt has 40% air and frozen custard has 18-20% air. Shake Shack is not so impressive. Instead of vanilla that I ordered, they gave me two little scoops of vanilla and chocolate. Didn't have the strong density and leaned more towards ice cream texture and taste than frozen custard. I do like their veggie burgers but, the smallish size does not quite match the price points. Parking in this complex is a hot mess on a Sunday afternoon as it is shared with other restaurants. I usually walk in to order, however, I used the app last time. The food is always fresh. If you order 1,2, or 10 burgers, they are neatly placed in the bag. The service is usually good. Although there is a kiosk now in which you can place your order; I still like speaking with a person. This particular location is in El Segundo off of Rosecrans Ave in a small shopping plaza with Randy's Donuts and Tender Greens as their neighbors. They even have a long shuffleboard if you have time to kill. There are plenty of tables inside and outside on their patio. Basically you order at the counter and they bring your food to you. They're known for their burgers, crinkle fries, shakes and custards, but they also have chicken sandwiches and hot dogs. I usually get their Shack Burger for $6.69. It comes with cheese, lettuce, tomato and ShackSauce. The burger patty is so salty. It's also quite small. The best thing about the burger is the potato bun, which is super soft. I also get an order of crinkle fries for $3.49, which is also extremely salty. Someone sure likes to shake that salt all over everything! On my most recent visit, I ordered a small lychee punch and that was delicious and refreshing. Definitely the best part of the meal. Service is just average and somewhat slow. My food was sitting on the counter for awhile so I decided to pick it up instead of waiting for them to bring it to me. Who wants a cold burger? Curbside is a bit faster. I've been through (Santa Monica, Pasadena, Long Beach, Burbank, El Segundo) Shake Shack locations within Los Angeles County and all gives me no problems. This El Segundo Location used to be very good. Unfortunately, this July 4th is not the case! Food Quality: One of our burgers (ShroomBurger w/ Shallots) didn't come with any Shallots. Not a big deal obviously but, my Avocado Bacon Burger was a disaster. The avocado was literally inedible. It was like a heavy moldy brick and the lettuce was dirty and rotten. How in the world can this be served to any customer? At least a team member should've done a visual inspection on the food before sending it out to customers. If, I didn't see it and ate the burger, most definitely I could've have food poisoning and a trip to the ER. One of us actually didn't feel too well after eating the Shack Burger. All of our burgers (ShackBurger, ShroomBurger, Avocado Bacon Burger) wasn't fresh as were accustomed to at Shake Shack. Informing the Team Member: I've notified the team member who was nice enough to inform the chefs to remake the burger although, I've informed him that the replacement I wanted (No Sauce and Add Lettuce) just how I ordered originally. The replacement was with Sauce and No Lettuce. Bummer, I just decided to eat it anyway since it's not a big deal. Interior/Cleanliness: It was dirty. Some tables aren't cleaned throughly enough. It felt hot inside so we decided to sit outside. The glass door was dirty it had many handprints and the door handle itself is greasy. Clearly no one wiped it.
