    Sweet potatoes with a cheeseburger

The sweet potatoes are on point, just a burger was juicy flavorful and downright good. I consider myself a burger fish 4 1/2 stars this place you need to check out..

Gem of a restaurant tucked away in a gas station that has nearly as impressive of a spread as the menu! You order in the back and wait out front, it takes a solid 5-10 minutes for fresh meaty burgers. The menu is Korean inspired and very difficult to choose since they're all incredibly tempting. I ended up going with the HAPA hoping for a Bulgogi-esqe experience. It was incredibly good, though I wish the sauce was a bit stronger. No problem though - just gonna keep going back until I find my favorite.

    Chance burger with regular fries

Placing an order over the phone was quick. You can find the number from their website. In 10minutes my order of CHANCE burger and regular fries were ready to go. It was not too spicy and the combination of habaneros cream coleslaw, sweet chili onion, jalapeno, and american cheddar was delicious. The bun was soft but retained enough structure to hold all the filling. The patty was moist and not oily. The fries were just the right crispiness. What I love about this burger is the right balance of everything. Smashed and greasy it is NOT. I look forward to trying their other burger selections.

Didn't know this place was inside the gas station, but definitely worth it for the burgers. There is also limited seating outside the shop. The Napolean...Insanely-large burger that was almost TOO much on one bun. The sammies, however, not good. The Oscar was not appetizing at all and my friend did not want to even finish. Overall great burger choices, nice staff. I'd definitely come back for their burgers.

Looking for lunch around the Redondo Beach area and this caught our eye. From the food pictures, I highkey thought this was located at a modern restaurant like Slaters or something.. but I was shockingly wrong haha. It's a lot more casual than I thought and it's located in a liquor store? It seems that most people come here just for the burgers, and the liquor store is convenient when you wanna buy chips or drinks with your order! So the prices are also 'gourmet' prices, so that's why I also thought this would be at a restaurant. So the service was pretty efficient and the wait time was average. There are tables in the parking lot, but we ended up taking our food to the pier since it's just about 5 mins away and you can eat by the beach! There are also plenty of tables at the pier too. So I got the dressed burger and my bf got the cash burger. Based on the menu items, it seemed like there were a lot of Korean inspired ingredients, but it had it's own unique flavors that I wouldn't have known that it would be Korean inspired. As my bf said, the dressed burger had more 'dimension' with all the ingredients, but he didn't like his as much because it was more 'one dimensional'. I enjoyed mines since the dressed burger was also juicy and flavorful altogether. We also got the parmesan truffle fries, honestly this one could have used a lot more truffle. The parmesan also hardened really quickly, so I didn't seem to like this one it. The fries were nice at first, but it gets pretty hard once it cooled down. Overall, the burgers were nice, the fries could've been better. Casual burger joint that's a bit nicer, but generally on the smaller side of "nicer" burgers.

The Standing Room is a small restaurant in the back of a convenience store. I came here this afternoon for a late lunch with a friend. The parking lot is small, but street parking was easy to find and free. I ordered the Cash burger with a side of sweet potato fries. For this area, $15 for a burger isn't too bad. Outside, they have a few tables and umbrellas set up in the corner of the parking lot. It was a lovely day, so definitely didn't mind sitting outside. The portion of fries was large and the burger was loaded and tasted pretty good! A great little whole in the wall spot for a good burger in Redondo

Fantastic burgers! After several return trips, Standing Room is now one of our preferred burgers in the South Bay. Bonus points because out of our favorite burger joints it's the closest one to us. We love the Asian flavors incorporated into the burgers. Our favorite items from the menu so far are the Cash and Dressed burgers. I am also wanting to try out some of their non-burger sandwiches sometime soon. One thing to note, there are two locations and we tried them both but for some reason, the Torrance location is not as great as the Redondo one. Curious if any other Yelpers have experienced the same. Let me know folks coz the Torrance one is even closer to us and if that was an off day I'm willing to give them another shot.

Another spot on my want to try list marked off. It's a small place where you order inside of the liquor store area and you pick up from a hole in the wall outside. They have more choices then I expected but the one called Dressed was perfect for me. The bread is as soft and very tasty it held all the condiments and burger juices well with out getting soggy. This is one of the best burger buns that I have tried. The egg we as cooked perfect as well as the patty. The cheese was good but not melted. The bacon was in small little you chunks not sliced but still tasty all the same. My only gripe is the lettuce only because they use red leaf lettuce and it gets wilted from the burgers heat fast. Over all the burgervtye service was all top notch. I highly recommend this place for your burger needs.

    The cash burger

The burger was good. It was honestly a little on the small side and I personally just can't wrap my head around a burger from a liquor store being $14 after tax, and not even coming with fries. A good spot if you're in the area looking for a bite after a day at the beach and don't want to sit in a restaurant, however, there are plenty of spots in the pier and harbor that have bigger portions for similar prices with table service.

The burgers here are huge, messy, and soooo delicious! Service was great, and waiting for the food was no problem as you know they're making it to order. As a first timer, I had no clue what to order as everything sounded good. I went with the chance burger and was anything but disappointed. Definitely coming back to try some other items! There are some tables outside where you can eat, but if it too cold or windy, your car will do-- make sure you have lots of napkins!

Whatever your plans, you're going to want to head here early to carve out time to read their unique and interesting menu. So many incredible and unique combinations! The staff was friendly and patient with my indecisiveness- the menu is just too good! I can't believe it took me this long to check this place out. I was anticipating a smash burger, which it is not but still hella delicious. I got the "Bull burger" which has bulgolgi added on top - that drippy melted cheese and korean aioli combo was bomb. My partner got the "Dressed burger" which he loved. I thought bacon could've been a bit more crispy. Be prepared to MUNCH these burgers are stacked! The crisp sear of the bun is perfection. These guys know how to burger! Ambiance is cool and unassuming. You can order inside through a liquor store that's giving Brooklyn Bodega - which made my heart happy. Then there's tables outside facing west. In the colder months, head there while the sun is out and it is a nice outdoor sunshine filled meal.

    Truffle Parmesan fries

Set inside a local liquor store this dive is known for unique burgers that are high quality and really innovative. Their prices are kinda steep for how much you get, but the food doesn't disappoint. Today I got the Napoleon burger ($22.00) which is bacon, caramelized onions, smoked Gouda, cheddar, fried egg, spring mix, topped with braised short rib, truffle Parmesan fries, tomato jam & Korean aoli - and it was an incredible symphony of flavor, not to mention a lot of food. My girlfriend got the Sally Sammie ($15.00) which is a grilled salmon sandwich with miso glaze, spring mix, onion, tomato & spicy vinaigrette. She liked it but didn't love it. I'm fact, she as still hungry after eating it and had to get a classic burger ($11) to leave satisfied - which she took half home. The classic has thousand island, shredded lettuce, onion, tomato and cheddar cheese - and she liked it better than the Sally. We also got their famous Truffle Parmesan Fries ($8) and they were fantastic as usual. Overall the burgers here are really innovative and good, but after tax this burger meal was over $50. I'm not denying that it was definitely was a special meal but this price point is a bit high for me to justify coming here more than once or twice a year. There are just too many other great burger places around that are significantly less expensive. We will definitely be back - just not sure how soon that will be.

For lunch I ended up doing the 3 for $21 deal which is exactly that, a fantastic deal. I ended up choosing the House Fries, the Tempura Fish Tacos, and the 1/2 Grilled Cheese Sandwich. How was it? House Fries- Covered in Grana Padano and Mustard Aioli, these French Fries were super crispy and tasted really, really good. Tempura Fish Tacos- Two tacos that I wish I could transform into 20. The Tempura fish here was absolutely delicious. 1/2 Grilled Cheese Sandwich- A few different cheeses between some sourdough, a simple but fantastic grilled cheese sandwich. Overall, The Hook & Plow was a fantastic place to stop for some lunch and I plan on checking out the other locations now. And Hubbers suggested this place for a late-ish lunch because he's been here before and had a positive experience. Outdoor seating only since we had the furballs. We had our choice of where since we were the only customers on a late lunch hour. Servers were so patient with our pups (even when they were moody - my apologies!) and were even nice enough to bring them water bowls! It was a cool and cloudy day, but that didn't damper anything. In fact, we appreciated it coming off the heat wave from the last couple of weeks! Everything on their menu looked so good, it took me awhile to decide. But Hubbers and I agreed on the Kayak Tide Tray (+4 extra oysters) and the charred watermelon salad. In the meanwhile, I battled between lobster pasta and five dragon pastrami. (The pasta won out.) Hubbers went for the cedar planked Ora king salmon. And a couple of cocktails to wash it all down! KAYAK TIDE TRAY: The seasoned scallops were my favorites, hands down. The sauce was fantastic and didn't overpower the scallops' main essence. The oysters were shucked fresh and the sauces elevated the flavors a bit. Shrimps were chilled tender and had a nice chew. Cocktail sauce added flavor. The mussels? Sad to say, but half of them were served still frozen hard. So we took our time with it and let it thaw out which didn't happen until we were halfway our meal. Overall: excellent. CHARRED WATERMELON: This plate was so well put together! And not only is it pleasing to the eyes (nice touch with the micros!), it was the same with the palate. Watermelon was fresh. Charred only on one side (I'm curious what it would be like if they charred ALL the sides - will make this request - only if possible - next time!) Taking bites from each component of this salad makes all the difference: the acidity of the tomatoes are tempered by the burrata and the cucumbers, and the freshness of the watermelon makes it all refreshing. The onions added a bit of tart, as did the pomegranates. Didn't notice any macadamia nuts, but no matter! This is a must have! LOBSTER PASTA: Didn't happen... see below. LOBSTER ROLL: Served along with Hubbers' salmon plate (more on that later.) We had a different server at this point (our first one told us he was going on his break.) I thought Hubbers put in an order of this too, so I moved the plate to his side. Our server noticed this and said, "Are you sharing? Would you like an extra plate?" Hubbers confirmed he didn't other this. And that neither did I, but we are waiting on the lobster pasta. He then explained they are out of that dish, "was this not related to you?" Long story short, I told him I'd take the roll, no biggie. He offered to comp it, and if I like, I can put in another order. So I went for the pastrami. And as we waited for that, Hubbers and I split this and WOW. Bread was toasted and buttered perfect, generous with the amount of lobster, plating was a delight to the eyes, and overall delicious. I appreciated the aroma of the tarragon. Yum! FIVE DRAGON PASTRAMI: This is a generous serving, plenty to share with another. Lots of flavors with each bite but the well-seasoned and flavored pastrami dominates them all. The slaw was strong but the subtleness of the lappi balanced it out. Sourdough was perfectly toasted. I thought about not ordering this since I knew the lobster roll might have been enough, but I'm sure glad I went for it! Delish! Hubbers let me have a couple of bites off his salmon plate and O.M.G.!!! He sure picked a good one! Skin was seasoned crispy and the fish was so moist! This is probably one of the best versions of salmon I've had. (For the record, I rarely order anything salmon since 90-95% of the time, they're served dry, but this one here, I'd highly recommend.) FOOD: 4.75. SERVICE: 5. They were AMAZING!!! VALUE: 4. Given the location, pricing is understandable. But worth it. PARKING: Street/Structure only. All metered. And getting here will require a bit of a walk depending on where you parked. OVERALL: 4.5. Plans on coming back here with more people is now in the works. Looking forward to doing that soon!

The smoked and fried chicken (brined a few days prior per our server) was hot, delicious, and complimented with a soy and chile sauce. Great meal in itself. Get it! Hand rolled spaghetti was coiled with a mixture of mushrooms in a brown butter sauce. Super savory. Great starch, goes well with everything. Can't wait to try more dishes during future visits!

We loved that it was empty and open before dinner, most places close in between lunch and dinner. So it was great to see it open to take advantage of their delicious crepes. I ordered the lemon butter crepe which satisfied my friend crepe craving at the time. I believe my husband got something with almonds and powdered sugar. His was pretty good, I almost wanted to trade with him. He sometimes ends up ordering better than I do and I'm the self proclaimed foodie . Absolutely loved the touch of the yellow roses. It set the mood and made me feel like I was somewhere in Paris on a date with my little family. Best crepes I've had in the Southbay!

We were surprised to learn there had been a change in management, as we have enjoyed dining here many times in the past and have always had positive experiences with both the food and service. This visit was noticeably different. The manager/server who attended to us came across as cold, unfriendly, and rude, which made us feel unwelcome. In addition, the food was very bland and dry, far below the quality we had come to expect from this location. Because we have been loyal customers over the years, this experience was especially disappointing. I am currently waiting to hear back from the owner, as I hope these concerns will be addressed. At this point, we are uncertain whether we will return to this location.
