Tonight for the first time in many years, I decided to try Hopdoddy after a not so good experience about four years ago, I ordered their mushroom burger with Parmesan truffle fries and an iced tea. First, every member of the staff that I interacted with the entire night was absolutely amazing, every one of them seemed happy to have every single customer that was in there, which is a rarity these days. The atmosphere was bright and happy everyone was having a good time and when my food came, the flavors were spot on, really my only argument was that the extremely expensive fries were all tiny broken up pieces most of which were about a half an inch long and when I brought this to the attention of the manager, he said he would tell the kitchen and then came back a few minutes later and offered me a free order of fries on my next visit and when your fries are in the nine dollar range that's a nice gesture. As always, I tell the good the bad and the ugly and tonight there was actually very little ugly because all of the flavors were amazing as a matter of fact, everything was so good that I ended up having a brown butter vanilla shake to finish out my meal and it was one of the best shakes I've ever had in my life. They are reasonably friendly but mainly focused on just taking orders, prepping mobile orders. The truffle fries is a must. We like to get extra truffle aioli. It's good on your burger as well. The burgers are all pretty good. We like the El Diablo which has a balanced amount of heat. The Lanno Poblano doesn't seem to be on the menu anymore. A few weeks ago I visited Hopdoddy's over Memorial Day weekend. It was my first visit. We arrived around 11:30 AM ish, so there wasn't a line or crowd. We walked to the area in the back to place and pay for our order. I asked the cashier one or two questions about the menu. She was sooo over it, and it was the beginning of her shift! Although she wasn't very friendly, she managed to answer my questions. Shortly after we paid and sat down, the fries arrived hot. They were exactly what you'd want from a cool burger joint...perfectly salted with a generous portion of freshly grated parmesan cheese. Another server brought our burgers out. The Magic Shroom burger was a hit. I ordered it with a beef patty cooked medium. When the burger initially came out, I felt a bit of disappointment when I saw the goat cheese. Instead of the fresh goat cheese crumbles I love so much, it came with a creamy goat cheese spread. Much to my surprise, the spread worked well so the burger was a winner. I ordered a side of bacon jam, simply because it sounded tasty. It was tasty and sweet. Loved it. The Double Bacon Jam burger also gets two thumbs up. The servers were fast and friendly. Everything we ordered was eaten in its entirety. As they say, we left no crumbs - literally. By the time we left, the restaurant was packed. We definitely beat the Saturday noon crowd. First off, the prices are too high. I ordered a Farmhouse Deluxe burger which includes Doddy Mayo. Unbeknownst to me their mayo includes horseradish and yellow mustard. I understand Hopdoddy is creative with its menu my only issue is naming something mayo that includes other sauces and not identifying them. Very disappointing for a $18 burger. I also didn't appreciate the person I spoke with when I called to ask if mustard was a standard ingredient on the burger. They cooked it perfectly the way I wanted (medium rare) and there was a ton of flavor in the burger itself. We were here for lunch today and it seemed like they are lacking on staffs. Our burgers and truffle fries came out within 20min but the sweet potatoes fries took much longer .
