Yummy! Hopdoddy is one of my favorite places to go to for juicy burgers and spectacular Parmesan truffle fries. This location has annoying parking, but City Centre is a nicely decorated outdoor shopping area worth checking out before or after your meal. The restaurant itself has the ambiance that you would expect from a burger restaurant, and sometimes the air just feels slightly greasy. You order from the cashier and they assign you a seat. Hopdoddy often has specialty burgers and I decided to get the wagyu smash burger which did not disappoint. The meat was piping hot and juicy and the bun was toasty and it all came together perfectly. The Parmesan truffle fries are a must get due to the exquisite balance of truffle, Parmesan, salt and chives paired with crispy hot French fries. The fried brussel sprouts are also quite solid. The brussel sprout leaves a separated from the base and everything is fried and then tossed with Parmesan and truffle. Simply delectable but definitely not healthy in anyway. Hopdoddy is my dad's and my favorite spot in Houston for a burger. While their burgers are a bit smaller than I expected, they're incredibly filling and packed with flavor. I was actually craving a grilled cheese from the kid's menu this time I went. It did not disappoint; it was preferably crispy and delicious. I've also had their Goodnight/Good Cause burger multiple times, and it hits the spot each time. Plus, I love their caramelized onions. My favorite thing was the drinks, the strawberry lemonade was excellent. At $30 for 2 drinks and 2 cheese burgers it wasn't the best value, but not the worst either. Decided to check out HopDaddy since they sponsor the City Centre Run Club and thought that was cool. After doing a quick run with club, we hopped over to HopDaddy. Service was amazing and so courteous. They even offered a military discount for my fave Yelpie . Ahi burger was the menu of choice and it was a little raw when delivered but came out perfectly cooked when returned the 2nd time out. I got the bandito burger but swapped the bean and corn patty for a regular patty, and I got the Parmesan truffle fries. I have had the fries before, and they were just as good as I remembered. Delicious! As for the burger, I think it was probably the best burger I have ever had in my entire life. So much flavor! The guy taking our order and serving us was incredibly nice! Once upon a time (in 2017-2018) when TGI Fridays was considered fine dining and when there were very few of the fast casual/ hipster boutique burger spots, Hopdoddy was considered a gem and a great spot to get some gourmet patties. At the time, Hopdoddy was hip, cool, and delivered on the food quality. The spot in River Oaks was usually packed and very busy. Now fast forward that 6-7 years and Hopdoddy is more of a corporate giant in the space, with non stop commercials while you are watching YouTube and with a chain location in every suburb/ mall area. Having not traveled to a Hopdoddy location in about 3-4 years, I went to grab a burger during a weekday lunch. The interior is still around the same as expectations, with a very casual bar feel to the spot. You go in and place your order and food is brought out to you but you get your own drinks and such; much like a Torchy's dining experience. I got the nacho fries (sans sour cream) and their wagyu burger (sans Swiss cheese) which totaled somewhere around $27 after tax. The fries were drenched in a cheese sauce and some pico and served in a metal bowl. It was a bit of an odd and much too casual presentation but power to them, I guess. The texture of the fries were a bit on the soft side and it didn't taste very fresh. There wasn't an epic crunch or great mouthfeel and they honestly tasted close to an air fried pack of frozen fries from H-E-B. Not great but not terrible. The burger was brought out a bit after the fries. The patty itself tasted like 85/15 ground beef to me and wasn't super beefy or flavorful like you would expect. It was also a bit on the undercooked side; if there was some more texture on the outside and a bit more fat rendered out, the patty could've been tastier. The bacon on the burger was a bit hard and tasted pre-cooked, and the rest of the topping were forgettable. The buns were obviously not made fresh. A couple options to improve the menu in my opinion; hand cut fries that were a bit larger in diameter and with more texture difference, freshly made burger buns, better quality meat for their patties, some more appetizer offerings besides variations of their standard French fries. Overall it was an okay but forgettable burger and meal. Going back to the start, in 2024 there are many other burger chains that cater to the casual bro crowd at the $12-$16 range which do a much better job with ambiance, menu offerings, and execution/food quality compared to in 2016/2017. Hopdoddy no longer stands out for me in that positive light and compared to the many competitors in the same food space, it is overwhelmingly average in both meal experience and taste. Once upon a time, it was a standout spot for an upper scale burger experience that you would want to go on a date to but now it stays firmly in the corporate chain burger space that's in every major suburb. read more

Been on a health craze lately trying the veggie and impossible meat options at different places. I can say that the El bandito as a bowl really surprised me! On April 1, 2026, between approximately 8:00-8:30pm, I visited Hopdoddy Burger Bar located at 798 Sorella Ct., Ste 199, Houston, TX 77024. I ordered a hamburger cooked well‑done. When I arrived home and began eating, I discovered the burger was significantly undercooked -- pink throughout and nowhere near well‑done. After taking one bite, I immediately became nauseated and threw up. At 9:14pm, I called the restaurant and spoke with the manager on duty. He apologized for the mistake and offered a refund, which I accepted. However, it is now April 20th and I still have not received the refund that was promised. I could understand an honest mistake in the kitchen, but when a manager -- whose primary responsibility is customer service -- acknowledges the issue, promises a refund, and then fails to follow through, it reflects incompetence and poor leadership. It also raises concerns about the company's hiring and training practices. If this happened to me, I can only imagine how many others have experienced similar issues. And if this was an isolated incident directed at me, that would be an even more serious concern. I will be sharing this experience across my social media platforms, review sites, the company's headquarters, and the Better Business Bureau. But, on this visit, I wanted to try a new burger and eyed their Llano Poblano burger. This burger was awesome. I loved the roasted poblano peppers and crispy bacon. It went so well with their beefy burger. We also got parmesan truffle fries to share, and it was delicious as well. It's worth mentioning that their El Bandito (vegan) burger was pretty good. Which was bbq seasoning baked into the bun. It was a different flavor that i wasn't used to. But it wasn't bad. The burger patty were good. Juicy and not too thick. I realized I'm a smash burger kinda girl, so this one was too much for me. It was within walking distance to my hotel so it was easy to get to. They do not accept cash so have your card ready.
