Smokehouse Brisket
Thomas H.

I've been to the Katy location and the Food Truck that was near Chimney Rock. I'm usually skeptical about mall locations for any place, I figured why not? Got the Smokehouse Brisket. It's my favorite sandwich off the menu. It never fails. This one didn't as well. Great flavor, sexy cheese pull, etc. The fries were well seasoned but not cooked well at all. They were almost raw. Would score higher, but if I'm paying 20+ dollars for a sandwich, drink, and fries.....please make sure the fries are done next time. I know it can be a rush, but good things do take time!

First time trying twisted grilled cheese and i had the Texas Classic and it did not dissapoint. I'll for sure try another one next time!

Service was fast and food were great and fast! My family and I High recommended this spot!

Great grilled cheese sandwich. Service was excellent. Simple, good food. Mall food court location with ample seating.

I can tell you right now as I sit here chowing down this place is twisted good! Hella good, I got the Smokehouse Brisket, which is a smoked beef brisket with pickled jalapenos, melted yellow and white American cheese, white cheddar, and mozzarella. The bread is buttery toasted with a drizzle of barbecue sauce on top! What a lovely delicious combination for a person who craves cheese! The service is great, and the atmosphere is always nice when I can sit back and relax and people-watch.

Had a great experience when the Memorial city location. Peal the cook behind the counter was very helpful.

Smokehouse brisket, grilled cheese with jalapeños.

New location!!! Memorial City Mall food court. Not bad for their first week. A little slow, but I am sure they will work things out. The sandwich was very tasty. I tried the brisket cheese sandwich. It's very rich so you might want to share with a friend. I would like to see them do a half sandwich with a tomato soup combo. I thought the prices were slightly high. It's definitely worth a try. If you like grilled cheese, they have a variety of sandwich combinations that are fun and unique. Staff should try to smile a little more to add to the experience.

Chocolate Cheesecake Donut Holes

Viciously understaffed on a Sunday afternoon, though the food is good. I have ordered cheesecake donut holes, and they were delicious. But I had to wait around 10 minutes for my order. Unfortunately, there was just one person on staff at this location, and she seemed swamped with orders. This location definitely needs to hire another person.

Halal Philly Grilled Cheesesteak

This Black-owned food truck does grilled cheese so differently and in the BEST way! Look at that CHEESE though! This is the Philly cheesesteak grilled cheese and it had so much flavor that it didn't take me long to eat at ALL. I got the Parmesan fries to go along with it and they were literally the perfect pair. Whenever I'm back in Houston I will definitely try another type of grilled cheese! Also, expect to bring about $15-20 per person if you're wanting a grilled cheese and fries. You've got to try this place!

Halal Chicken
Ruth D.

I had the Halal Chicken and enjoyed it. However, the sandwich was smaller than expected and not worth the $12. I wanted the buffalo chicken but they said it was unavailable. Staff said their most popular sandwich was the brisket and maybe that would've wowed me if I got it. They only had one menu that a customer was looking at so I had to wait till they were done before seeing options. The menu was rather dirty and should be cleaned more regularly. They quoted a 15 minute wait and finished a couple minutes earlier. The one staff member at the truck could've been friendlier but also answered all my questions so maybe he was having a rough day. I would give the taste of the food 4 stars but Overall, it was an average experience and I don't think I'll be back which is why it gets 3 stars. I could rate this place higher if they decreased prices and were more friendly.

No one is here

SMH, i'm just confused as to why we try to place the order with the place about 3:30pm and I was told that they didn't have any french fries or chicken at the current moment.. That's hard to believe, the guy seemed more like he just didn't want to deal with the order.... Then 45 minutes later I see him walking around the food court .

A fine food truck, especially if you are a grilled cheese lover, but unfortunately for me, I found their offerings a bit lacking. (C).

The service was superb with taking our food order, refilling drinks, bringing out a to go box and offering to go drinks. I will say I loved my husband's birria grilled cheese sandwich. It was so huge, flavorful and juicy. He ate half of it there. I was happy with the portion of the chicken fried steak I was given. Since it was stacked on top of the green beans and mashed potatoes it needed some gravy with it. I'm not a fan of it being stacked like this so I asked for more gravy lol They were polite about it. I did like the bacon addition to the green beans. We did enjoy our strawberry lemonade and peach lemonade. That was a nice southern touch. Overall this was a fun spot to dine at. We did go on a Saturday night with no reservation and it seems like it's a place that prefers reservations but there wasn't a crowd so they were pretty accommodating so check online if they're available like we did.

The drinks were great and well made, probably my favorite part of the meal. The food, however, was about a 5/10 for me. It wasn't bad, just a bit underwhelming compared to the hype and what I expected. Everything was fine, but nothing really stood out or wowed me. That said, with great service and solid drinks, it's still a decent spot to check out, especially if you're going for cocktails and a relaxed vibe rather than amazing food.

Eat, Drink, HTX…read more Made a reservation for a Sunday night dinner for three. The restaurant is so cute and cozy with tables and booths. Lots of TVs to watch the Olympic Games while you wait for dinner. I liked watching the open pizza oven. They make a lot of pizzas here. The Eat, Drink, HTX menus are a great way to try new restaurants while giving back to the Houston Food Bank. A starter, an entree and a dessert. $25 for dinner. So many choices on this menu. A great deal while helping out those in need. "Started" with the Turkey Samosas. Four crispy pastries that are filled with seasoned ground turkey, potatoes and parsley served with cucumber yogurt. Delicious! The Ember & Greens Soup that my family had was hot, hot, hot and so tasty. The fresh soup was filled with a blend of spinach, parsley, and cilantro with chickpeas, caramelized onions, pinto beans and quinoa. My FIL polished off his bowl! For dinner, we all had the Blackened Salmon. The salmon with lemon butter and avocado salsa served on roasted carrots, broccoli and potatoes and a bed of quinoa. It was a full plate, which we all took home for dinner the next day. Note: it is quite buttery. My FIL had his butter and avocado salsa on the side which worked for him. I loved mine as is. Even though we were pretty full, we still enjoyed dessert. The tiramisu was so indulgent. Loved the layered mascarpone custard, whipped cream, coffee liqueur and coffee-soaked ladyfingers. My FLI had the Chia Seed Pudding with fresh berries. What a great meal. We had a slight hiccup where the appetizers came slightly after the main meal was served, but they were so honest about what happened that I still have to give them five stars for their food and their service. Would try them again for their generous, delicious meals. Lots of parking. Water glasses were frequently filled both with and without meals. Thank you for a really nice Sunday night dinner with family.

It was a beautiful day, so it would have been the perfect day to eat outside if you like that. I'm an eat indoors kind of person, but if you like to eat outside, they do have a few tables for that. I was meeting a friend for lunch and she suggested Ember & Green. We really couldn't decide what to order, so we decided to order a few things and share them. We started off with the Persian Cucumber Sald. It had Persian cucumbers, heirloom cherry tomatoes, red onions, and Kalamata olives with oil and lemon dressing and topped with parsley and feta cheese. Let me tell you, thats lemon dressing was delicious! It went so well with the cucumbers. Next we ordered Blackened salmon with lemon butter and avocado salsa, served with charred broccolini, roasted carrots and potatoes on a bed of cilantro green pea quinoa. I'm really not a huge fan of salmon, but I'm trying to like it more by trying it different ways. The spices that they put on the salmon were really good, not too spicy, but also, not bland. It was also cooked perfectly. Oh, and that lemon butter... that lemon butter made the meal if you ask me. It was so good. So good in fact, I had to try and make salmon with lemon butter at him the very next week. Mine didn't come out as good as Ember & Greens, but it was decent. That just means that I need to leave the cooking to the professional. For dessert we decided to share the Skillet Cookie. Its a house made chocolate chip cookie baked in a cast iron skillet and topped with Amy's Mexican Vanilla Ice Cream and chocolate sauce. This was the only thing that we ordered that was a nope. I dont know what happened, but it didn't seem like it was cooked at all in the middle. We took a few bites, that was all we could eat of it. All and all, it was a good experience and I will go back. I'll just skip dessert next time.

The food is always great so no complaints there but my brave review is definitely the service. There were laughs, and background information on the restaurant, some of the chefs, and servers and it was also very interesting. We tried so many menu items. We had like three or four boards and several brunch items. Of course, I got the cucumber honey lemonade and I made my friend try it too. Lol. Delicious as always. 10 out of 10. However, I will say that the new battle of the board is not Great like I remember. They had super basic flavors and the ones they did experiment with different combinations were actually pretty disgusting. The meatballs and tomato sauce were both solid and I loved the toasted bread on the side. As for the truffle deviled eggs, that's something you don't see often on the menu! The truffle flavor/aroma was solid and the fresh chips on top were nice. The cheeseburger was pretty good and I enjoyed all the veggies that came with! Just a heads up, this place is counter service, so you order at the front and then grab a table. The crawfish garlic butter sauce actually has really good flavor, but the crawfish themselves weren't very juicy. It tasted like most of the flavor stayed on the outside rather than soaking into the crawfish. If they let the crawfish sit in the sauce longer, I think it would make a big difference. The fried catfish was solid, and the whole wings were good. Regular wings were just okay. Prices are pretty reasonable though around $10/lb normally, and they are running a special of 5 lbs for $45. Overall, a decent spot with potential. If the crawfish were juicier, I'd definitely come back because the sauce itself is actually pretty good!
