Took our school's Girl Scout group here for an end of the year celebration. I asked them if there were really that many soft-serve flavors and they said yes, in fact they just added a new flavor. Hope Creamery was a stop for the 6th Annual Search for the Best Scoop Shop RI with RI Food Fights. This ice cream stand is cash only. There are hard and soft serve ice cream flavors. The coupon from RI Food Fights is only for the soft serve ice cream flavors. I chose piña colada. The soft serve was very smooth but it didn't really taste like piña colada. There is a parking lot and a few picnic tables right in front. Service was friendly and there wasn't a long wait for the ice cream. read more

My absolute favorite!! They have such a great variety of things to choose from it actually makes it harder to decide! I've never been disappointed and am always happy to go back. Everyone is nice and respectful. Even though it's on a main road it doesn't feel like it once you're in the lot. They're are a few picnic tables and umbrellas, it's nicely lit outside it looks like a carnival with all the colors and pop! I highly recommend this place and will be returning soon... Who Would Have Known I feel like I have driven by this place on Branch Ave for the last 10 years and had no idea it was here. This is a really good place to fill a craving for ice cream. They serve Bliss Farm ice cream, which people know is a top quality brand. A nice size hot fudge sundae is going run you about 5 bucks but 2 people can split. Over 30 favors of hard ice cream and they also have soft serve. If you know Branch Ave, you know parking can be a pain, this place has plenty of parking and a seating area to eat outside. Hope Creamery is literally right around the corner from my house and the times I've been there, which is only two, or drive by, which is quite often... it's usually packed. I stopped by the other night on my way back home from a long ass trip across the country because I was craving soft serve; I was surprised to find that there were only a few others there. I ordered a large cup of vanilla/chocolate swirl ice cream topped with rainbow sprinkles (NOT JIMMIES!) and it was $5... really? Come on. The soft serve wasn't even that good, definitely not as creamy as other places I've been. I'd only go back to Hope Creamery because of it's proximity to my home, otherwise, I'll be going elsewhere. read more

Using Bliss Brother's ice cream does help the rating here. Their flavors are top notch and the variety sold here is very good. The service was fast, the place appeared clean and we didn't get our cups of ice cream or shakes with ice cream goo dripping down the sides (which is a pet peeve of mine). The prices are good, too! Compare these guys to West End, who sell the same brand of ice cream, and the prices are about 30% lower and you get almost twice the ice cream. read more

I tried giving half a star for their effort at least. This place is poorly ran. Staff is rude and slow. The owner seems like she has a drug problem which can't be good or safe for business and the icecream isn't very good quality. Worst ice cream experience I've had in RI. The ice cream was gritty and freezer burnt, the waffle cone had a large patch that tasted like soap and the person behind the counter messed up the order (two cones, nothing customized). I want to love this place but their ice cream is literally the worst I have ever had. The first time I went, my spouse and I had vanilla and chocolate soft serve. The vanilla was good but the chocolate tasted so strange I couldn't eat it. It wasn't sweet and tasted of chemicals. Tonight I went again and just got vanilla ice cream with toppings, and both the vanilla with sprinkles and the vanilla with Oreos tasted like cleaning products. We threw both cups out because they were so bad. No ice cream is better than this ice cream, sadly. read more

An easily overlooked ice cream spot on Branch Ave. They have some standard vanilla and chocolate flavors plus an array of cool concoctions to choose from like their Graham Central Station and Caramel Cashew Crunch. All of which are delicious. If you have some trouble deciding which flavors you'd like (I know I did) you can mix and match your scoops of ice cream. Their ice creams are very customizable to just how you like it with additional toppings available. They offer soft and hard serve ice creams, smoothies, lemonade and sundaes. The pricing is pretty affordable and I love their hefty scoops! Nothing pet-peeves me more than if I feel jipped with a tiny portion size! So I was definitely pleased when I got a decent sized three scooper. All in all a pretty delicious ice cream stop if I do say so myself. read more

I've never had the ice cream here but the frozen Lemonade is the best. They offer many flavors such as lemon, cherry, watermelon, kiwi, blueberry, and a few more I can't remember right now. All I have tried are vividly flavorful. It has a smooth texture unlike Dels. Unfortunately I cannot say much for the help/servers, most of the times I have been there they have been chatting amongst themselves and not that friendly. My friend and I went a half an hour before closing time. I don't mind that they didn't want to serve us because online it said they were closing in a half an hour. However, I did mind the fact that the woman at the window ( the owner I believe) would not even open the window to kindly let us know that they were closed. You probably never would be able to find this place. It's located in a not so great part of Providence in the middle of a residential neighborhood but next to a busy street. I found this place initially on Yelp and it seemed to be highly recommended so on my first trip to Providence, I found myself here after a very large dinner! They have an awesome selection of ice creams and if I remember they only take cash.... They only have outdoor seating and most people just come in, pick up and leave. I was craving ice cream at 9:45pm. Google and Yelp disagreed on this place's hours, so I called ahead to see if they were open. They told me they would be open until "10:15 or 10:30". Yes, that's a direct quote. We drove over and made it by 10:08. I went up to the window and the woman flipped the closed sign in my face and laughed at me. As my friends and I got back in the car, she continued to talk to her co-workers, look at us and giggle. It was pretty clear that she was mocking us. We love this place! Super inventive flavors and their sorbets are delicious too (for my dairy-free husband). They'll let you try whatever you want before you buy and last year when a bug flew into my mother-in-law's ice cream cone during our summer evening ice cream run, they replaced it for free right away! I highly recommend the caramel cashew crunch, but we haven't met a flavor we didn't like yet! Great prices too! read more
