came here to try out the ice cream and unfortunately my dog locked our keys and card in the car. we were waiting for police to let us bsck in the car in the meantime I advised if kids could get ice cream as we would pay but just waiting for response team to let us in car . It's also only cash so I couldn't pay with tap . Staff refused said they couldn't.. made a worse situation even worse when it could've been easily solved . The ice cream at this place is A++++ beyond amazing. My favorite flavor has always been chocolate peanut butter, but I haven't had a really good version is years. I can now say Purple Cow has the best! The chunks of frozen peanut butter are huge and the chocolate ice cream is excellent! I've had other flavors and they are all great. Some of my other favorites are coffee, coffee Oreo, moose tracks & chocolate chip. They offer hard ice cream, cones, dishes, shakes, floats, sundaes & more. The one thing that's lacking is truly great soft serve. Soft serve ice cream is something most places offer, but few places do it great. Purple Cow has the same standard soft serve that most places have. They offer it in 30+ flavors which are all ok, but none are great. My advice is stick to the hard ice cream. My only other negative would be that they only accept cash, but for a seasonal business I do understand why they do it. Purple Cow is totally worth checking out so head over sometime this summer before they close for the season! read more

Though Eskimo King is still my favorite seasonal ice cream parlor, The Purple Cow is definitely my second. It's a great seasonal addition to the back end of Seekonk. Though the parlor is small they make great use of the space. the side parking lot has ample parking spaces . They have several picnic tables and benches that are placed out in front of the building if you choose to dine on the property. The building is always kept clean and is easily accessible. They have a large updated menu that lines the take out windows and they also installed an ATM machine near the order windows for customer convenience. The prices are incredibly fair and comparable to other local vendors and the staff are always pleasant, accommodating, and quick. during peak season hours you may experience a line but the staff move at lightning speed to keep wait times minimal. It was a pleasure to visit this wonderful establishment this summer and I am hopeful The Purple Cow will continue to thrive in the community for many more years to come. If you decide to visit I'd suggest visiting right when they first open. it's a lovely business but they aren't equipped to handle large crowds. I hope they'll be able to on board more staff as the weather gets nicer because the 30 min wait in a line that goes 20 people deep can deter even the most loyal patrons from returning. read more

The ice cream is great, and the people who work there are the friendliest ever. I particularly like to get a scoop of mint chocolate chip ice cream and purple cow fro-yo (black raspberry base, with chocolate and white chocolate chips). My mom loves coffee heath and Maine black bear. The only issues we've had are frequent and sometimes unpleasant bathroom trips afterward, but we are pretty sure that we are lactose intolerant. We live within walking distance from the Seekonk location, but the Pawtucket location is nice too. If you live nearby or are just stopping by, definitely make a stop here! read more

This might be my new favorite ice cream place. We usually go to Briggs in Attleboro but we are not a fan of the atmosphere there. Here at Purple Cow the employee was friendly and polite! My husband got a soft serve in a cone with the kiwi flavor add in and she politely explained us that it is mixed in throughout which was a nice heads up. I got a cookies n cream medium sundae with Reese's pb cup specialty topping and let me tell you they do not skimp on the toppings! The ice cream was yummy and creamy as well and I was happy with the amount of cookie dough bites in the ice cream. Overall a good first experience and we will definitely be back to try other things! read more

Good ice cream place! My go to choice here has been the blueberry pie ice cream, can't find it anywhere else. They have seasonal flavors and some usual options, like the almond not ice cream. Don't bother with the shakes, over priced, pretty much just a bit of ice cream with a lot of milk, I'm not exaggerating at all. I went back to get a new one, because i thought maybe it was just the server, but it just must be the way they make them. Totally not worth it. Try one of the many ice cream flavors instead in a cup or cone. Price is typical for any ice cream place. On a hot summer weekend, there may be long lines at peak hours, and it moves pretty slow, so i would suggest not going at those times. read more

The ice cream flavors range from standard single flavors to specials like black raspberry chocolate chunk and seasonals like pumpkin and Apple crisp. The problem I have with a lot of ice cream shops is their quality. Many places have increased prices and downgraded their ice cream to a hyper-sweetened product devoid of creaminess. Purple Cow doesn't have this issue, their ice cream is delicious. To put prices in perspective they charge 4.30 for a frappe, while other places charge upwards of 7 dollars. Eh. Stopped by while visiting friends this past weekend. Wasn't really impressed with what I got but could just be what I got. I'll start with the setup. It's a small, order at the window, cash only establishment. The menu is on the inner part of the shop so if you are waiting in line you can't see the menu until you are first in line. No biggie, it wasn't too busy that day so I stood in front and looked at my choices. There are lots of ice cream flavors, both hard and soft, as well as a long list of frozen lemonade flavors to choose from. I couldn't decide between ice cream or lemonade so I got one of each to give it a try. For my ice cream I chose the heath crunch with hot fudge and reese's cups (I was in the mood for candy bars apparently). I got 3 scoops (large) thinking it would be a smaller serving as many places are stingy but Purple Cow is not one of the many. The serving was very large and I actually couldn't finish it all. The taste was there and I did like my choice but I have to say that the ice cream was so rock hard that I had a hard time actually eating it. The flimsy plastic spoon it came with almost snapped in half every bite I took. Oh well, next time I guess I'll just let it sit for a while before trying to eat it. My other choice was a frozen watermelon lemonade. I ordered a medium and was pleasantly surprised by the size. The taste however wasn't very watermelon-y. I can't describe it exactly but it tasted like bubble gum instead but with the very slightest taste of watermelon at the end. I drank it because it was a hot day and well I did pay money for it. Seating is limited to 3 or 4 picnic tables out front. The parking lot is next door so there's space to wait in line or eat standing up. I'm usually a soft serve kinda girl so next time I'll try that. Maybe a chocolate cone with sprinkles is where my heart truly lies. read more

Absolutely love purple cow. It's my favorite ice cream place and it being right down the street from my house is perfect. My boyfriend and I always take our pup for walks there! The girls are so friendly and the ice cream is to die for! The frozen lemonades are also pretty tasty! They are always super nice and they also pay attention to my dog who always tries to "order" when we go there. Great flavors, great staff. What more could you ask for? The only downside is on weekends around 5 when it gets crowded and you can't even grab a parking space of you tried. Also love that they are open until 10 during the summer months! read more

Very very very disappointed in the Pawtucket RI location. When we arrived we had not realized Dots dairy bar was now The Purple Cow. It took approximately 5 minutes for the two ladies behind the counter to acknowledge our arrival. Had no problem ordering. But when my small hot fudge sundae with cookie dough ice cream and peanut butter arrived I was very disappointed. There was hardly any hot fudge or peanut butter on the sundae and the ice cream tasted freezer burnt. There was literally a spoonful of hot fudge and a spoonful of peanut butter......ugh....sooooo disappointed.....so I go back to the window and ask for more hot fudge and peanut butter because there was hardly any on my sundae and are you ready for this....she CHARGES me....are you serious...anyway I definitely will not be returning to this location....will drive the extra few minutes to Seekonk. read more
