How large you say? How about owning and managing over 3,000 acres of almonds in California's Southern San Joaquin Valley and running a 2500-square-foot San Diego commercial kitchen and manufacturing facility. They sell eight varieties of roasted almonds, shelled and unshelled raw almonds, three kinds of almond butters (including Mexican Chocolate!!), and gift packages. We ran into their booth at the Carlsbad Farmer's Market and saw their big variety of flavored roasted almonds. After a few samples, we scooped up a bag of Mexican Chocolate Supreme and a bag of Honey Vanilla almonds. The Mexican Chocolate almonds were roasted and dusted with cocoa, nutmeg, cane sugar, and raw honey. They were so good! The Honey Vanilla almonds were roasted with vanilla extract, cane sugar, and raw honey, and I give them a slight edge as my favorite of the two. The delicate, sweet, vanilla flavor was fantastic. All of their products are made fresh with no preservatives, and I can tell ya that their almonds are excelllent. read more

I've been a loyal customer for years, which is why I feel especially concerned sharing this experience. On Sunday, February 15th, I visited your booth at the Leucadia/Encinitas farmers market to buy fresh roasted almonds and almond butter. While I was waiting in line, the vendor dropped the scoop cup onto the grass, an area where dogs walk and urinate and where many people step. I politely asked if she could use a different scoop, but she said she didn't have another one and didn't offer any solution. When I asked if she was really planning to continue using the same cup after it had fallen on the ground, she said yes and mentioned she had attended food safety school. I was honestly shocked, as it's hard to imagine any food safety training approving that practice. What concerned me most was that she didn't seem to recognize that this was unsanitary or an issue at all. I did purchase almond butter, but I chose not to get the fresh almonds because I wasn't comfortable with them being scooped using a cup that had fallen on the ground. This was disappointing and concerning, and I hope this feedback encourages better sanitation practices moving forward so customers can feel confident about food handling. read more

Really great quality and doesn't last long around my place - I add it to açaí bowls and honestly, you can eat it by the spoonful to satisfy your sweet tooth instead of reaching for something unhealthy. These are the real deal almonds! I have been looking for raw almonds this last week. I usually get them at Trader Joes but there isn't one on the way to work and im lazy and havent gone. Found these guys at the SoCo Farmers Market. While talking to the lady there I tried 6 different flavors and was getting schooled on the latest news on almonds. So let me now edumacate you on the breaking news!!! All raw almonds sold in grocery stores are now all pasterized!!! This is a big NO and not a good thing for those of us that like to eat raw almonds as a very good healty snack. Almonds are packed full of healthy nutrients such as Vitamin E, iron, calcium, magnesium, fiber, protein, essential fatty acids in the form of omega 3 and omega 6 and antioxidants. They are rich in mono and poly unsaturated fats which help lower bad LDL cholesterol levels. So eating Almonds helps the heart a great deal. When almonds are pasteurized, they lose many of their nutrients and health benefits so it's not good at all. Hopkins raw almonds are unpasturized so you get all the good health benefits. They have a great fresh sweet taste and are meaty. WARNING! RIP OFF!!! Portions are way smaller than you think. Asked for a pound of Raw Almonds and upon receiving the bag I asked if it was pound. The guy said he uses a 16oz container to measure portions, and it comes out to about 15 ounces because of volume space. I put it on the scale and showed him it only weighed 12oz. He gave me a nasty look and angrily said, 'Take your business somewhere else'! Upset he got caught with egg on his face. Called the number on the website where they sell it online by the pound and they confirmed that their policy on the website is to sell by the pound(weight), and they sell it by volume at the Farmer's Market. I feel their Farmer's Market Sales Poilcies are very misleading and unethical. Great Product.. wish their business policies were as good as their almonds. read more

I've had all of their almonds and they are incredible. The lime sea salt are my favorite followed closely by the chipotle. The honey cinnamon are great too but you can't have too many in one sitting (sometimes that's a good thing). Great gift packages as well although I definitely ended up eating more than my fair share after they opened their packages. A little on the expensive side but to be honest I don't really know how much nice seasoned almonds should be. read more
