We stopped here after a hike at Mt. Rainier. Since covid started, it was our third time to eat out. We ate in the outdoor seating area and felt comfortable with the space between groups. The inside was clean and well-spaced as well. We got there during happy hour and I enjoyed a strawberry margarita and the fish tacos. The fish tacos were fine, but nothing to write home about. NOT SAN FRANCISCO. This was the location in Puyallup Washington. Ordered via DoorDash, so I can't speak to the service or decor or whatever, but the food was lackluster at best. Tiny portions, terribly overcooked rib tips, the weakest blue cheese "sauce" I've ever tasted (I actually thought it might have been partly melted sour cream at first). The "potato chip nachos" with "fiesta vegetables" was a dish of potato chips with a sparse half-handful of random canned corn, mostly--I think I found one tiny bit of diced tomato, and three or four black beans, a few very small chopped green onion bits and 30 or 40 corn kernels. Wasn't there supposed to be bacon or something in there as well? I suppose I should know better -- apparently this place is a sports bar that serves food, and maybe after three or four beers these dishes would have been just fine. read more

We came her after a long day of hiking and in hopes of a good meal. When we saw that Hops and Drops had outdoor seating, we were very excited as well, Covid, and we had our dog....but even though we were in their parking lot, we called first to see if dogs were allowed. Turns out the patio was not open yet, so then I asked the person who answered if we could order to go, and could we also have beer and a glass of wine to go, and he said sure, no problem. My husband went inside to select his beer, only to find out that, yes, we were sold beer and wine, but no glasses and no way to open the bottle of wine and he had to buy a Growler, NOT a glass of beer! We had also ordered bacon cheese burgers, and had requested no mustard or pickles on mine....mine was plain, and neither of us had cheese. All in all, pretty poor service, and it really should have been explained that we were not going to be able to enjoy our drinks until we get home. It's really too bad as the burger was tasty....just so disappointed they weren't made correctly. Not the best first impression...On the website, they ask that if you have concerns, to contact the owner...so instead of writing a review on Yelp, I tried to contact the owner first. We received a very nice letter thanking us for our concerns, and was promised a letter from the manager. When we didn't hear back, I reached out to the owner again, who again, promised a response from the manager. A month later, no response. It's challenging to believe they just were leading us on so we didn't leave a bad review....sorry, not sorry that we had to leave a bad review! read more

Well talk about a fun place! Clean and friendly, with a great theme! Chill!!! Everything they have is based on ice and chilling which is really cool. The beer on tap are so cold that the taps are all frozen. Also, they have neat chilled drinks with real fruit that's served martini style doubled in thick ice shot glasses! The prices are fair for what you get overall and I love the theme. The service is attentive and quick. Had the steak and spicy chicken sandwich which was an interesting sandwich. Wish I could have chosen other sandwiches but didn't like the bread choice that was given. Perhaps letting us change the bread option would be nice...well, I didn't ask so maybe I should just have asked if I could have changed the bread to a regular sandwich bread for those options was an action I could have taken. The steak was good and entirely edible . . meaning not fatty and jerky. I liked it and the fries were so crispy the entire time! The thing I like about Hop n Drops is their consistency. I always know what I'll get when I go. The service is always reasonable and staff friendly. This location is pretty small so expect a wait or go early. Mostly bar seating My favorites: their tater tots, hands down! So good. And their ranch. The jalapeño cream cheese burger was a hit. A little spicy but hit the spot. They also have killer drinks here and not overly priced. The margaritas are almost perfect pure sugar though, but if you're into that then they're great. We come to hop jacks all the time, particularly for their drops and happy hour. We stopped in today during happy hour, (it wasn't busy at all, regular Tuesday). Our server checked in on us twice. Once to take our order, and once to give us the bill (which I had to ask another server to get her for us). It was disappointing because we wanted to order drops and beer, but never quite got the chance. Also the salad I got never came with the pita bread, but because she never checked on us I didn't even bother to try and track her down for it. The food is decent, I highly recommend Hops and Drops in Bonney Lake. I usually do door dash and they never ever put silverware in the bag. I had to call them and say put it in there. Today me and my colleagues went to Hop Jacks for an evening dinner. Unfortunately we were not impressed. We started with nachos however it was one layer of chips with a scarce array of toppings( for 13 dollars!) Then we received our "regular" sized salads with again a sparse array of toppings with a price that did not match the quality. Our service however was lovely. Would not recommend. Been here plenty of times with my wife and sometimes our grandkids. Service has always been spot on. Food is always prompt, even when they are busy. I can honestly say I haven't ordered anything I didn't like. Breakfast is large portions and bloody Mary's are great! Highly recommend it for any meal. Oh my! While visiting a friend in Orting we were brought here for what was originally supposed to be a light bite to tide us over until dinner but with so many delicious items on the menu we couldn't resist! So we were lucky to make it still in time to catch happy hour as our server was awesome to let us know about. And what says happy hour better than a strawberry basil martini??? And the presentation made us even more elated as it came with a sugar coated cone of ice that sat within the glass to keep our drinks extra frosty. Oh momma! And on top of that, it can with the little side shaker of extra yumminess. I'm a sucker for that whether it's the extra milk shake or booze. Now for the food... Luckily my friends that I'm with geek out over food to so we decided to order a few things to share. The onion rings were perfectly crisp and served with both a tarter sauce as well as a creamy BBQ sauce. The taqueria were perfect as they were not greasy one bit. Couldn't remember the last time I have had a tater tot so I couldn't resist. They were perfectly crisp on the outside and light and fluffy on the inside. We were told the burgers were amazing so we opted for a Juicy Lucy which was incredible. An order of boneless wings were somehow thrown into the order and we were shocked at the huge size order that came out. But I have to say the star of the meal was Big Tony's BBQ Mac. Lord have mercy! I popped in the other night looking for a place that I had not been to before. The beer selection was OK, but I would have preferred to see more seasonal ales. The burger was delicious. I enjoy spicy food, so I got the jalapeno burger. YUMMM! The fish tacos were ok, but I would have preferred that they were not battered fish. If you get them, use the lime. This just felt like another Red Robin wanna be. The food has an edge on it, that makes it a little better than fast food, but not as upscale as I think they are going for. Their drinks were fun. A good spot for chilling out, a laid back girls night out, or even to take the family to. At first I thought that our sever was really on top of things, and that she was very attentive, yet someone else delivered the food and got some of it mixed up, and had to ask what we all ordered. She did not come back too often to check up on us, and then in the end, she kept messing the bills up. Yeah this burger joint wasn't anything to write home about. It had a decent beer selection and abundance of hard liquor. It was very clean and the bathrooms were also very clean. Our waitress was very attentive but only carded me out of the 10 other people sitting in the bar area. Anyways, I had the jalapeño burger and the other half got the mushroom burger. Like I said, nothing amazing about it. The buns were ok but the meat itself was awful. I think the meat was freezer burned so it just had that metallic taste to it. Look, it's a beer joint, as the name implies. It's also in our little town of Bonney Lake, so don't expect Five Star dining. That being said, they have damn good burgers, a good happy hour, and awesomely cold beer! Their taps are seriously covered in ice, and the mugs are so cold that a little bit of frost floats to the top of your glass. Huge burgers and lightly salted French Onion Soup were the highlight of our first visit. Slow service with only 2 couples in the restaurant side and the bar half full was disappointing. We started with cups of French Onion Soup which were very beef-y with lots of well cooked onions and not too much salt. Hubby liked his burger, but the "pink inside" option was more of a well done. The Fish tacos were the low point. Heavy on breading and light on on lettuce the moist flaky fish was screaming for mercy. After removing a little more than a cup of breading from 2 of the 3 small fillets I had a nice balance of fish and spicy aoli / mayo / sauce, but it was messy work. They are open for breakfast and will give them another try since the receipt had a $5 coupon. read more

I had the grilled chicken wrap and a gin and tonic for $21. Improvements in the available tap list and a way to actually find the tap list would be beneficial. We have been coming here since it opened. Always loved the waiters/waitresses at this location. I recently had weight loss surgery and can't eat a whole meal myself so we usually ask for an extra plate with my husbands meal so we can split it. They split the meal when they make it and bring it out on two plates which was awesome! A lot of restaurants just aren't accomodating to requests such as this and yours always goes the extra mile! I have enjoyed Crown Royal for years. I know what it taste like. And I know when it has been watered down! Hop Jacks is adding water to the Crown Royal that it serves. Add that to a small pour for $7. Not so good! We ordered the Large Steak Salad. The blue cheese in the salad was good. Had only a tiny amount of steak. Overall the salad was small. Why, when lettuce is not expensive. Server was untrained and was dishonest with us. Our appetizer of $10 chicken wings was served and 15 seconds later there was dinner. She wanted to get back to talking to her friends at the next table over. Hop Jacks feel like they are doing you a favor serving mediocre food in a noisy environment.
