We have been a few times and finally decided to post a review. Most of the time the food is really good, this time around our hot sandwiches were cold, tator tots were luke warm, and service was horrible, but only because they were really short staffed (or so it appeared). Our waiter would disappear for a long time and it took him like 5 trips to the table to finally take it order. He always seemed very distracted. The menu prices are also a but steep, especially the "Drop Ice Drinks". Paid 10.50 for about 2 ounces of alcohol. Don't think I'll be going back anytime soon. read more

I've been coming here for a year now whenever I'm going to see a movie or shopping in the valley mall. Good food and good happy hour. They have a great selection of popular and local draft beers and a decent martini. The BBQ pulled pork Mac and cheese with bacon is like nothing you've ever had before, by far the best Mac n cheese recipe ever thought up. French dip and Philly cheese steak sandwich are also good choices, their side of fries is simple but very good. Service is friendly and attentive, and they try hard. My family and I love Hop Jacks at the mall. Such a yummy place to go. My husband loves trying new stuff on the menu all the time and I'm obsessed with the guacamole burger! Always made fresh and delicious! I ask for no pink and crispy bacon and it has never disappointed! My littles love the kids corn dogs too! My teenager and I love the unlimited lemonade and all the flavors you can try. Service is always great and have never had a bad experience. I don't drink often but if I do, Hop Jacks is a great place to meet for dinner and drinks for date night out or ladies night and then go see a movie after! read more

My boyfriend and I come to HJ's almost monthly. We love it here very much. I only give four stars though, due to the fact that in our most recent visits the food has been undercooked or cold. We love HJ and don't want to see it turn into an Applebee's. The staff is also always so amazing and lovely, and we are remembered by a lot of the staff! Super clean environment as well. read more

To go service was amazing. Sad I spent $18 on Mac and cheese that was the smallest portion I've ever seen from a restaurant.

After waiting 10 minutes for a menu a simple quesadilla sat in the pickup window for 8-9 minutes as staff chatted it up. I had one small piece (1 of 4) and took it to go. This way I could heat it up. I didn't feel like sending it back and taking a chance on extra toppings. I sat right in view of kitchen staff so I could see it sit as employees where walking around chatting. I would highly caution dinning elsewhere. read more

Tried this location b4 N. Spokane Nevada location...and this location in food and service ranks a 9 out of 10 for me. There with my mother and niece during happy hour. Had the nachos (outstanding), tempura prawns (juicy, breading slightly crunchy and melted in my mouth), and a Caesar salad (full bowl with sufficient dressing and croutons). The service was above reproach with our server who paid attention to ALL her tables. Cannot say the same for the N. Spokane location. Their Ceaser said was half the bowl and they skimped on the dressing; the tempura prawns were not bad on the inside, but the outside breading was a little "done"; and instead of nachos my mother ordered the pork rib tips. They came out looking great and one could how imagine how much smokey/flame BBQ flavor they would have. WRONG! Mouthful of salt was all that meat tasted like. And the service, for an all but empty bar area, was terrible. Not a great personable attitude expressed, hardly came by our table and paid no attention to the plates on our table, seeing that we didn't touch the pork rib tips, I watched her walk by and look at the table but she just kept walking. She seemed to pay more attention to the tables with ladies than others, especially a young pair of ladies ensuring they got their drinks in a timely manner. I had to get her attention just to cash out as we have her about 10-15 and I got tired of waiting. So not living in this area and spending time with family, if I find myself in the Spokane Valley again, we will definitely go to this location for sure; and staying far away from the North Spokane Nevada location without question. read more

Pretty good food though overpriced but our biggest complaint was that we got there around 4-4:30 and finally got a table at 7:00. Ordered some drinks while standing around as there were 7 of us. We asked if we could still get drinks at the happy hour price since we were told a 40 min wait NOT 3 hr wait but I guess the customers don't always come first. That's OK, our last time there. What an amazing first time experience. I walked in and was pleasantly greeted by Casey, one of the bartenders. He politely asked where I wanted to sit, either at the bar or in a booth. I asked him what his suggestion was for an alcoholic beverage and he gave me a great suggestion. It was a lemon drop/martini version but with grapefruit flavor - yummy! He took my food and drink order in a timely manner and for food i ordered the veggie black bean burger with a side of taster tots. Then Kim also another bartender, super kind, asked if I'd like another beverage and this time I tried the mango flavor, also yummy but not as good as the grapefruit. Next time I'm going to try the pineapple. The atmosphere felt like every single employee enjoyed their job and working with their teammates - there was a family feel. My wife and I stopped by to grab a drink and some appetizers on our way home after shopping and found the service to be extremely pushy and unprofessional. I order a drink on the rocks that I was charge $18.50 were anywhere else in the Spokane Valley I $10.00 and it was watered down as was my wife's. After the disappointment of the drinks we decided to not order food and when just asked for the check the wait staff got an attitude with us and we had to wait 20 minutes and still hadn't received our change. So I went to the bar and as to speak to a supervisor who offered me a gift card after laughing like I was making a joke. I have never done a review and I didn't take the gift card. Mac and cheese - holy cow - served HOT in it's only skillet, cheesy, cheesy and with baked cheese on top. Comes with little pieces of flatbread, perfect for scooping up every last drop of goodness! I always WANT the mac and cheese and then I think -this is stupid, why would I pay ten bucks for something I can actually make at home!?!? This is why - get it, share it, love it. We can at happy hour - 2pm to 6pm every day both in the bar and dining room. Lot os TVs to watch playoff games, which is nice. They had some Seahawk special drinks - try them all. My favorite was the "drop" which comes in it's own cup made of ice. I LOVE frosty drinks and this was perfection! And the prices on those drinks were two or three bucks less than non-happy hour, so then you can have two, or three depending on who is driving! We also enjoyed some street tacos, garlic fries and the BBQ chicken quesadia - crap I can never spell that. A few too many onions in that for my taste, but the flavor and portion was good. Service was good - checked back often enough to not make me wait, but not overly much to make me feel bothered. This restaurant is your typical hangout kinda place. The drinks are their main selling point and gimmick that is supposed to make them stand out. The drinks are good and the "ice glass" is a fun novelty! The Gummy Bear drink is a fun fruity treat. The food was less impressive and way too over-priced for what it is. We ordered chips and salsa (not listed on the menu) at an astounding $6.00! This was for my little one since she did not want anything off the kids menu, however when the bill came and I saw how much that small basket of chips and tiny ramekin of salsa was I would have been better off getting her an app or sharing mine. I ordered the mac and cheese and my fiance ordered a black and blue burger mid rare. The mac and cheese was nothing special just your average mac and cheese and the burger was not cooked to mid-rare it was over cooked and falling apart, making it hard to eat. It was also cold like it had been sitting too long in the window. The service was SLOW!!!! it was busy at the time but it was too slow. It took us over 2 hours for the whole meal from order time to walking out the door. Our server was nice but it was clear she was over sat or so busy to offer us the proper attention. Overall I would not re-visit unless perhaps it was just for happy-hour when I can get some apps and drinks. read more

Lulus has a great atmosphere, and excellent customer service, but the food quality seems to have dropped since I was her last. It is quick to the table, but when I'm down from Montana to Palm Springs, I'm looking for some memorable food. Unfortunately, Lulu's let me down this time. Our waiter, Hillary, was delightful! She stayed on top of drinks, never leaving a class empty. Her conversation was delightful, relevant, and kind -- such wonderful comments and goofy persona. I was most impressed with her knowledge of the menu (as my family tends to make those "annoying" and picky changes to menu items). They use hand held ordering devices and Hillary was extremely speedy. I have no doubt that she knew every button and every menu item on that electronic menu, which makes being a customer that much more enjoyable. My dinner was yummy, I found every bit of my burger and fries delicious. I also snagged on of my boyfriend's mozzarella sticks and oh man were those OH so satisfying. I also need to mention that this was all at 6pm on a Friday night... the restaurant was PACKED. We sat in the bar to avoid a long wait time but still felt like we were having a sit-down dining experience. As a past server myself, I recognize that it's a true talent juggling more that 5 plus tables while still providing quality service. Overall the food was good, but the service was great. read more

The food was no better than something I could get at Burger King and the server didn't seem to want to be there. Maybe it's because we sat in the bar and didn't order any alcohol. Advice to others is don't bother. You'd be better off going to Red Robin, and I hate that place, haven't been there in 8 years, but would sooner return to RR than this place. read more

Fried pickles! They dip them in teriyaki better and they are amazing... We fell in love with fried pickles for the first time in hop Jack's. Every time I visit I am impressed by the friendly service. The servers seem genuinely happy and authentic in their personalities and banter, not like a forced lines that they repeat non-stop. I have always been pleased with the flavors and quality of food, plus their happy hour is terrific....great selection of food and drinks! Tonight we arrived late....9:36pm after a non-stop day where I didn't have time to think....let alone eat. You know how sometimes when you arrive near closing at a restaurant you get "that look" from the staff where you can tell they just want you to GO AWAY!!?!? None of that here... the hostess was gracious the server arrived promptly to greet us but I didn't feel pressured or rushed. My wine arrived within moments and all the stresses of the day were quickly forgotten. The french onion soup was delish and apparently the rest of the food took longer than the manager wanted; he came to our table, personally apologized, even though we argued, he comped our dinner. The fish tacos had great flavor, the chicken goat cheese sandwich was memorable and if available will be ordered again...highly recommend! I've never actual eaten here because the 3 times I have gone they have been do inept at determining wait times that we've sat over double the time we were quoted.
