I pulled into their pick-up spot and put my car into park. Seconds later there is a guy running up to my window. This guy must have been staring out the window just waiting for someone to pull into this spot. I rolled down my window. In the rudest, snottiest tone he asks, "Are you picking up food from Hops n Drops?" Also, no mask on this dude who works with the public all day as he is inches from my face. I said, "No I am picking up my boyfriend he works here." Let me also point out there were 3 other OPEN Hops n Drops parking spots and they are ALWAYS open, I wasn't blocking anything and I was literally there 2 min. He says "Ok" and walks away. By this time my dog in the back seat is about ready to break thru the window to tear this guys throat out. A few seconds later, this guy shows up on the other side of my car. I roll down my window again. Once again this dude, in the rudest, snottiest, most disrespectful tone says, "You need to move this is our spot." So I move. But I tell you what, I will never eat there and neither will anyone I know. Look, I know I was in their spot. But, as I stated there were 3 other open spots and I pick up my boyfriend almost every night. They are always open. I only park there when there are no other spots and I'm only ever there 5 min. max. There is no reason for this guy to be a d!ck. Don't approach a woman's car, in the dark, without a mask (especially when you work in the food industry) and be a d!ck. What if I had been waiting for food? He would have just treated a customer like that. Just no reason for it. As fast as he was at my car he obviously wasn't working. The 4 of us decided to go out to dinner here tonight. This was the first time I've eaten here before. I had the black and blu burger and fries and it was excellent. The fries were amazing. My partner had the teriyaki burger and the other two had nachos and the chicken quesadilla. Everything was excellent. Will definitely come back again. Food, drinks, and service are excellent. Each and every time my wife and I go there we're not disappointed. Know why they added the 2% fee and you'll understand and give the company kudos for doing so. This evenings visit only had one sad face, their take on a caprice salad used to have toast instead of flat bread. This recent change had other effects on the appetizer which was a disappointment on the dish big enough to send it back. But they understood the change and why and happily took it back and didnt charge for it. Their tempora shrimp, BBQ pork flatbread, garlic fries, and baccon wrapped jalapeños are excellent as are their beers on tap and drinks. Their great anytime but durring happyhour even more so. The service is unparalleled compared to most other restaurants, but for what is, arguably, a sports bar is just top notch. Given this fact and how hard everyone works to make it all come together, we have no issues with the 2% add on and have nothing but respect for them putting it on there to not cause a pay cut to some of the staff because of a recent change in the State's laws. So I took the fam out for the boy's 19th B-Day. Got a coupon from Restaraunt.com for $25 off $50. A legit deal if you ask me. We were received and everything was going smooth. After ordering I presented our server (Lauren Z.) with the coupon and was told the manager would be right over. After meeting with him (Mike G.) told us that the coupon was not valid, but he would take care of us some how. Mike came through for us and did not leave us hanging. Hop Jacks used to be my favorite place to grab a drink and a burger, until recently when they hired all new staff. I went in a couple months ago, sat at the table for 20 minutes before any staff even came by to take our drink orders! The staff couldn't figure out how to enter my simple cheese burger order into the phone. Finally my order came out, missing toppings, I waited around for another 10 minutes for the server until I finally went into the bar to ask for what I needed. A couple weeks later I thought I would give it another try, once again, wait time for a server to come by after being seated was 25 minutes!! Nobody ever came by to check on our table during the meal. Never refilled our drinks. Took another 15 to finally get the check. I am an understanding person so I get that people just have "those days" however it wasn't very busy any of the times I went in. I thought I'd give it one more chance. About a week ago I go in again, only to wait another 20 minutes before staff even talks to us, finally the bartender came and took our drink order due to the (not very well trained) waitress training other staff. Once the waitress came around she took our order and repeated it back to us, completely wrong. Her attitude wasn't that great as well. We had to ask another waiter to change the channel to the Gonzaga game- our local team. After we finished eating we waited another 20 minutes for the check. I am very displeased with my most recent experiences. I used to praise this place for their friendly staff and always recommended to friends for a delicious quick meal. But after the changes I will definitely not be going back. read more

This is a really good burgers and brews kind of restaurant. It almost has a sports bar kind of feel to it. They have a really big variety of food to choose from and good drink specials. I ordered a Mac n cheese dish with taco meat and jalapeños, corn and bell peppers, and it came with chips! Sounds weird but it was delicious! My boyfriend ordered the jalapeño cream cheese burger. We were there on a Saturday and I think it was a homecoming for a local high school so the place was packed. The service was a bit slower than I would have liked but not unreasonable. Disappointing. Their $5 fruit lemonade has syrup on the bottom and one sad looking piece of fruit on top. The Buffalo chicken wrap wasn't worth $12. The server, however, was very sweet and friendly. Stumbled upon this place by a happy accident. It quickly became our family's favorite! Their French Onion soup is the absolute best! I have to order it every.darn.time! We've been there several times and tried their sandwiches, burgers, salads, mac and cheeses and fish and chips. The fish and chips in particular bears mentioning--it's AMAZING...perfectly seasoned, the fish was tender and the batter was perfect. All their food is fresh, delicious with a home/handmade feel. Not what you would expect from a "mall restaurant." What I love most about this place is their consistency. We've been there repeatedly and not only is the food delicious and perfectly cooked every time--the service is far and above some of the best we've received in Spokane. The servers are always super friendly, attentive and always excited to fill you in on the daily/weekly specials. My only wish is that they had some "lighter" or "healthier" options on their menu so it doesn't have to be a calorie "splurge" when we go. There isn't a broiled/grilled chicken breast or fish option to be seen =( And while their salads aren't bad, they are still a bit of a calorie bomb. Then, she accidentally forgot to bring the beer to our table until we reminded her so they were on the house! We ordered full size meals and she recommended the happy hour versions which saved us at least $25 and we were still satisfied with the smaller portions. We came here for lunch on a Friday and the place wasn't very busy. We were greeted right away and sat promptly. The server was really professional and knew every beer on tap. He also knew which of their own brews to recommend based on my beer preference. It was a wheat beer and amazing! It was served so cold that it was cold even to the last drink, which never happens. My blt was wonderful and on ciabatta bread. A little heavy on the mayo but I think most people like it that way. The only reason it doesn't get 5 stars is that the kids mac n cheese was served in a ceramic dish so hot that it burned me even after sitting there for 10 minutes. That's a dangerous practice and they could have some very hurt children as a result. Overall a good experience though. read more

We had the boneless honey chipotle BBQ wings (and I like spicy food and these suckers are hotter than expected for BBQ). I had the Chicken Club wrap on a garlic tortilla with garlic fries. Boyfriend had the black and blue burger (1/2 lb burger with French fried onion strings) with house made chips. Portions are well worth their price, only disappointment was that our sandwiches had iceberg lettuce and they use green leaf lettuce for garish. Service was quick, Server was knowledgable of the bar menu, although her suggestion for the Hop Jack IPA was disappointing, it had a great citrus aroma but was bitter and dry without a finish. We have tried this place twice. First off, the service is always friendly and prompt. Both times, we were greeted with enthusiasm and attention to details. While I can't speak for my guests, I will say that both meals that I tried, a burger and a chicken sandwich, were okay. The sandwiches, themselves, are rather large, but both times, mine were a bit dry. Some extra sauce helped, but they were a bit underwhelming. Both times, my fries were greasier than you would find elsewhere, and they were over-salted. Because of the friendly service, I'll give this place one more shot, but I will order something other than a sandwich. If I'm in the mood for a burger, I'd rather go to Red Robin nearby because they have consistently good burgers and really good fries that are bottomless, especially if prices are similar. This place is usually pretty packed, so I'm sure there is something on the menu that I'll find to be really good. read more

Server was polite but visibly stressed, when we were able to be seen that is. A quick lunch became an almost 1 hour ordeal. Glad we decided to go after our movie and not before. Food was ok but there was nothing special or memorable about it. Atmosphere was quite loud considering the openness of the space. The worst aspect was the drinks. My entire party ordered differing drinks and they all were sent back as awful. Some were overly sweet. Another (a basic Jack and Coke) was made completely flat. Truly a sour note to start our experience. We were offered replacements but declined, worried that they wouldn't be much different than before. The beer was warm, and they did replace it, but really? it took forever for our food because they burnt the burger and had to make another one. I just went today as they reopened for dine in and the spacing of customers is great. I got the French dip and it tasted like heated lunch meat on a bun for $15! Really expensive but still some yummier dishes on the menu. I was a little disappointed the kids Mac & cheese is large penne noodles so you have to sit and cut them up for toddlers. We have been a few times and finally decided to post a review. Most of the time the food is really good, this time around our hot sandwiches were cold, tator tots were luke warm, and service was horrible, but only because they were really short staffed (or so it appeared). Our waiter would disappear for a long time and it took him like 5 trips to the table to finally take it order. He always seemed very distracted. The menu prices are also a but steep, especially the "Drop Ice Drinks". Paid 10.50 for about 2 ounces of alcohol. Don't think I'll be going back anytime soon. read more
