    Pork Chop

Don't let the 3.5 star average rating fool you. This place is pretty good. The buttered bread starter was yummy. The salads were super unique and really tasty. I had the pork chop entree and it was delicious. Our server Kayla was fantastic. To be fair, the visit did have a couple flaws. My wife's steak was overcooked and the soda came in super small glasses which resulted in lots of refills. Overall, I was very happy with the dinner experience and I'm sure I'll be back soon.

Such a lovely and spacious nautical-inspired restaurant overlooking the waters by Marina Park in San Leandro. Came on a Saturday with a noon reservation, and there were lots of parking. Once entering the restaurant, I really enjoyed the ambiance and feeling like I was in a beautiful old-school ship with tall windows letting in a lot of natural light. We got grilled salmon, fish and chips, and key lime pie for dessert. Service was warm and attentive, they were really wonderful. This is a great spot with an upscale feel in San Leandro, perfect for dates and nice outings.

This spot is quite close to Oakland Airport, making it a convenient stop on our way home. We've visited here four times, but my husband has said it will be our last. I genuinely love the cozy feeling of sitting in a boat's hull and enjoying the beautiful view. Our waitress, Angelina, was incredibly sweet, though she seemed overwhelmed with too many tables, and we saw the bartender step in to help. Our son's Fisherman's Platter came out first, and he finished it before our Lobster Bisque and Salad arrived. Everything was good, but the timing was off--we prefer to dine together. I had the Duckhorn Cabernet, which was $17 a glass; I didn't take a photo, but I felt the pour was fairly short. My husband enjoyed his Expresso Martini, which he said was delicious. I truly want Horatio's to thrive. I hope these tips are helpful and support their success.

Stopped by for a quick bite after making a reservation through Open Table. We were promptly seated by the large picture windows overlooking the SL Marina. Hubby ordered Prime Rib sandwich au jous with french fries. I opted to venture away from my usual. Had a small Blue Cheese salad with sliced almonds, chopped egg and added salmon. The entrees came out within an ample period of time. I asked Kayla, our server, where's the beef? There was two paper thinned slices of brown beef, was it even prime rib? Kayla came by to check in a couple of times, she was excellent! Personally, I'd reconsider coming by again

Haven't been to Horatio's in years. Food was decent, ribeye was juicy and cooked well. Hubs got the scallops and he said they were tasty. Place seems a little dated and could use a nice remodel.

We came here for dinner on a weeknight and were seated promptly. They have tables overlooking the Bay which make for a great view of the sunset and the water. They also have some kind of an outdoor patio seating. Parking is plentiful and the restaurant has a nautical themed decor. Our server, Jessica, was great! She walked us through the menu, informed us of the popular dishes and checked on us often. We got some drinks which were well made. We started off with the crab and artichoke dip - a tasty dip with some crispy baguette. They also bring you their house garlic bread which is delicious! We got the Admiral's feast - a three course menu where you can choose a soup/ salad, main and dessert. The clam chowder was good and the Caesar salad was standard. Next, the sirloin was perfectly cooked as requested. This was served with some asparagus (which sadly lacked seasoning) and mashed potatoes. The salmon was also cooked to the desired done ness (medium rare) and served with fingerling potatoes and fresh vegetables. Dessert was creme brulee the only option in the set menu which was standard. Portions are decent sized and I needed to take some of my food back home! Overall, a decent place for a leisurely meal.

The Maple Pear & Blue Salad from Horatio's tasted like somebody dumped maple syrup on a Costco spring mix and prayed the blue cheese would distract you. Also... where were the pears? I think I found one witness-protection-program slice hiding under a leaf. And the Cajun Chicken Fettuccine? Menu made it sound like New Orleans. Plate showed up tasting like microwaved spaghetti with commitment issues.

Haven't been to Horatio's since I was a teen. It's sits off in the marina by El Torito's and Marina Inn. Nice size parking lot but not very well lit. The restaurant itself is a little on the darker side but the aesthetic gives port or ship vibes. The service was a bit slow. It took an hour to receive the incorrect order, while noticing that larger tables sat after us already had their food. We received the taster platter but the bread was burnt. 4/10 I had the grilled shrimp scampi with mashed potatoes and asparagus. Good flavor but wasn't hot. Nice size shrimp. The potatoes had seized and the asparagus- thin and overcooked!! 6/10 Lobster bisque was flavorful but came late. 8/10 The crab and shrimp pasta was well seasoned and a nice portion. Quite rich. 8/10 Perhaps just an off night. Willing to try again in the future

This is one of the prettiest restaurants I have been to. The view as the sun was setting was out of this world. All of the food we tried was quality including the sampler, Cesar salad, and the fettuccine. The only downside at the time was the waiting. It took our food about an hour to come out with little to no check ins and we got so hungry. Luckily the complimentary bread was able to keep us occupied for a bit but other than that it's worth a visit!

Upon entering you are greeted with a inviting presence and amazing atmosphere. As we sat down we were quickly served water and fresh already buttered bread. The three of us all ordered the fish and chips and I can't begin to describe how great the fish tasted and was breaded. Overall a wonderful dining experience with great views and art pieces.

Horatio's is a very nice spot at the San Leandro Marina, that we've had the pleasure of visiting a couple of times now. The location couldn't be better. Overlooking the water, this is a great place to have a romantic dinner or drinks while watching the sunset. The interior is very nice, with a nautical motif. The restaurant is very spacious, a good choice if you're hosting a party with a large group. Horatio's is affiliated with Skates on the Bay and Kinkaids, of the Landry's Restaurant Group, which I picked up on right away, since they have a similar menu and motif. Skates fell out of favor with us after a really bad service experience there years ago, but we won't hold that against Horatio's. So far we've only been in for drinks and appetizers, but I'm looking forward to having a full dinner here soon. Appetizer-wise, their crab and artichoke dip is a must. They also start you off with warm garlic bread, which is yum. They have a very nice menu of creative craft cocktails. Reminds me of a really swanky cocktail lounge called Petrus we went to when we were in Serbia a few years ago. Service is excellent. Staff is welcoming, attentive, and professional. We look forward to returning soon.

What a great find by the marina! This seafood spot totally nails the coastal vibe -- the interior feels like you're dining inside a ship, with tons of nautical décor that makes the whole experience feel fun and immersive. Pretty neat place overall, and the atmosphere really sets the tone for a relaxed, waterfront meal. The food was so good. The calamari was perfectly cooked -- crispy on the outside, tender on the inside AND had fried artichokes too! -- and the salmon BLTA sammie was absolutely amazing. Super fresh, flavorful, and piled high with all the good stuff. Definitely a must-order. They also have a great selection of beers on tap, which paired perfectly with everything. And shoutout to our server, David! He was so sweet and attentive, checking in just the right amount and making sure we had everything we needed. Service like that makes such a difference. Can't wait to come back and try more from this yummy menu. Highly recommend if you're craving seafood by the water!

Does Horatio have a private room for private events?

Don't think so...but they have a private area that we've been so for several work parties

Does Horatio's still have Key Lime Pie for dessert? It was awesome and I'd like to get some if it's still on their menu.

Yes that's their specialty dessert as well as creme brulee

Do they have happy hour if so what times?

Monday-Thursday 3-5:30p in the bar and lounge only

What time is lunch over and dinner menu is giving?

    They don't make a distinction. Mon - Thursday 11:30 - 9 Friday- Saturday 11:30 - 10

Is this a good spot for a social occasion, like a birthday? Would you choose this over paradiso?

Yes, the food is excellent there and it is an upscale restaurant, but make sure to ask to be seated in the dining room and NOT in the bar. If they seat you in the bar, you will be packed in back to back like sardines and will not feel like a… Read more

    No there is not

Do you have outdoor dining? Heaters?

I've only eaten on their outside patio during the Spring, it's lovely

Any updates on when happy hour will be back?

I called Horatio's and spoke to one of their employees. Currently they are not doing happy hour. He told me that it will probably be in the fall, but it is at management's discretion to start up the happy hour.

We saw a street parking as soon as we turn, and just parked even though it was 1000 ft away. The drink/cocktail list is vast, but we are not much of a cocktail drinker and not usually drink during lunch, but I saw Matcha Sharka being ordered a lot and the other seemingly popular drink was this lavender drink. If you are a cocktail drinker during lunch, do check them out. We ordered 4 shareable items: * Savoy Donuts - 5 stars - fluffy and yummy, not greasy at all * Focaccia w/ Meyer Lemon and Garlic Confit - 4.5 stars - wonderful texture, did not taste the garlic much but the lemon was really good add. * Grilled Beef and Pork Chipolata - 4 stars - I think the star was the dressing. The meat itself was just okay. * Rice Vermicelli Bowl - 4.5 stars - not sure why it is called a bowl when it was served more in a plate. This is the fusion take on the Vietnamese dish with different dressing. We selected the Galangal Pork, which I did not like as much compared to the usual Vietnamese ones with Lemon Grass. There is a choice to select Lemongrass chicken instead, so you might want to try that. The pork tasted "porky" despite it was thinly cut. I was hoping to try dessert, but we were full so we did not do that. Next time. The restaurant is nicely set, and you can select indoor or outdoor seating. A Place I Keep Coming Back To…read more I've been to Texas Roadhouse many times over the years--I just never remembered to take photos until this visit. For me, Texas Roadhouse isn't about finding the most expensive or most luxurious steak. It's about getting together with family or friends, enjoying a cold beer, sharing great appetizers, and having a relaxed meal without breaking the bank. The atmosphere is exactly what you'd expect from a classic American steakhouse. It's lively, energetic, and always feels welcoming. I also love the open kitchen and the hand-cut steak display when you walk in. Watching the staff prepare fresh steaks adds to the whole experience. One thing I miss is the old bucket of complimentary peanuts. They now come in individual bags, which is definitely cleaner and more hygienic, but I do miss that old-school Texas Roadhouse tradition. The warm fresh-baked rolls with cinnamon butter are still incredible. Honestly, I could probably eat an entire basket before my entrée arrives. My must-order items every single visit: Steak The steaks are consistently good. Are they premium steakhouse quality? No. But they're cooked well, seasoned properly, and offer excellent value for the price. That's exactly why I keep coming back. Cactus Blossom (The Giant Onion Appetizer) This is an absolute MUST. It's surprisingly difficult to find restaurants that serve an onion appetizer this size anymore. Most places either offer onion rings or a much smaller blooming onion. Texas Roadhouse's Cactus Blossom is enormous, beautifully presented, and fried to a perfect golden crisp. Every petal stays crunchy while the onion inside remains sweet and tender. Pair it with their signature dipping sauce, and it's the perfect appetizer to share over drinks. If you're visiting for the first time, don't skip it. It has become one of the signature dishes that keeps me ordering it every visit. Fried Catfish Another item I highly recommend. Crispy on the outside, moist and flaky inside, and surprisingly light. It goes perfectly with a cold beer and good conversation. Loaded Baked Potato Simple but done right--loaded with sour cream, cheddar cheese, bacon bits, and butter. Comfort food at its best. One thing that deserves special recognition is the service. Every visit, the servers have been friendly, attentive, and genuinely welcoming. Drinks are refilled before you even have to ask, and they frequently check in without being intrusive. Great service makes a huge difference, and the staff here consistently delivers. They're absolutely the kind of servers who deserve a generous tip. At the end of the day, Texas Roadhouse isn't trying to compete with high-end steakhouses--and that's perfectly fine. It knows exactly what it is: a fun, casual American steakhouse where people gather to enjoy good food, cold beer, and great company. The steak is consistently good, the portions are generous, the prices are reasonable, the service is excellent, and the overall experience keeps me coming back. I'll definitely be back again. Highly recommended.

I always get good appetite as soon as I enter the restaurant: love watching the bread being made and the steaks on display. It's also great that the wait staff always grabs a basket of hot bread with cinnamon butter spread as they bring guests to their tables. Bags of peanuts are also waiting at the table. I always order the same thing: 20oz bone-in Ribeye Steak with Caesar Salad and baked sweet potato as sides. It's a great value at $37.99 although I still remember it being $10 cheaper when I started coming to this restaurant. The steak is always perfectly cooked, medium rare is how I like it. The salad is always fresh and crisp. The sweet potato is nicely baked and really tender. That soft, hot bread is addicting. Service is excellent because their wait staff is trained to keep bringing the bread even without being asked. They are very nice about it. And since they have a dedicated person making the bread continuously, they never run out. The free peanuts are also very good and keep customers occupied while waiting. Food came out at a decent pace. It's loud and lively inside the restaurant. The whole atmosphere is very cheerful. I have been to other Texas Roadhouses since it's a chain. They are very consistent and they all operate very smoothly. Highly recommended if you are looking for a decent steak house and do not want to break your wallet!

I grew up in the peninsula, so when I heard my new east bay friends told me their favorite place to…read moreeat for special occasions growing up was black angus I chuckled lol. But now after trying it out, I get it! Hubby and I didn't feel like cooking dinner and this place showed up on my InKind app (IYKYK). It has a pub like vibe/decor and can easily accommodate large parties. They have a 2 for $69 which is reasonable. App, entrees, 4 sides and a dessert. It pretty comes out to you getting a free app and free dessert if you were to pay for it all separately. Option to up charge for premium items. Free bread came out fast and hot! Great start to meal. We really liked the spinach dip. Came out warm and I like how much spinach was in it. Sometimes it comes out too creamy with no spinach at all. I got the rib eye with side of au gratin potatoes and broccoli. I asked for medium rare and I was so pleasantly surprised it came out at a perfect temp. It could have used a touch of salt but def not mad at it. Au gratin was good and broccoli was tender but thankfully not mushy (my pet peeve). You get to choose any of their desserts and we got the cowboy cookie. Basically a pizookie. Yes, bjs pizookie is better but you can't go wrong with a warm cookie and ice cream. Best of all the service was awesome! I believe her name was Taylor, but she was so pleasant and attentive. She checked on us often and helped us make some good food choices. Wouldn't mind coming back for dinner when we're too lazy to cook.

I took my wife and three boys and but we were seated at around 8:15 PM. As soon as we ordered, we had to wait about 10 minutes for the bread. Another 15 minutes for our appetizer; Wagyu Dumplings. And then another 10 mins for the salad. And then another 15 mins for our meal. During that time, we were all getting full off their bread. Once our food came out. Both NY STRIP and RIBEYE were cooked almost well done. My kids; ages 11 and 7; had to spit out their steaks cause it's chewy. I told my server, and he immediately took the steaks back to get it redone. The new (medium-rare) steaks came out after 20 mins and by this time it's 9:57PM! We told our server to provide us two to-go boxes and we will pack the food home because we are tired and the fun and enjoyment out of eating out has been replaced by frustrations and disappointment. Furthermore, it was 10:15 when I finished paying and by this time my wife and kids are in the car waiting for me. Also, I told my server if it's possible to talk to the manager, but he said that they couldn't accommodate me as it was closing time and she is busy counting money. It would be better for you to take your money somewhere like Texas Roadhouse or even Outback. I believe the servers are good at what they do, but the kitchen makes them look so bad. I had a great experience with the old store manager Greg as he ran a great restaurant. But this restaurant is now a shadow of it's former self. P.S. The BBQ Chicken does not look like the one in the menu photo.

For our entrees, we ordered the Argentinian Skirt Steak accompanied with Frites, Sautéed Greens, Fries and Chimichurri Sauce -- and the Mezcal Glazed King Salmon with Cashew Relish, Purple Potato Puree (so interesting!), Shaved Brussels Sprouts, and Chipotle Butter Sauce. Food was fantastic -- straight to the point and with boldness from the Latin influence. The ambiance aims for a higher end dining experience, and there is a full bar with additional seating. Must be a local favorite for Happy Hour and dinner. Jonathan was our server -- shout out to him for his efficiency, attentiveness, and professionalism. He responded at every interaction with enthusiasm and a smile. Would definitely return.

They were busy, but the staff accommodated us last minute which was so nice. Drinks were fantastic, the bartenders love what they do and it shows. The food was sooo good. We ordered some appetizers and the pasta and the short ribs for mains, all were fantastic dishes. The short ribs were my favorite though, seasoned well and the cilantro mashed potatoes it came with were EVERYTHING. I'd come back for a side of those alone. The pasta was a little dry and could have used more sauce, which is why I knocked them down a star. We'll definitely be back to try other dishes!
