Steve R.

Located in Milwaukee. They make such good pizza here! I got to talk to the owner and he just opened up. He designed & built his food trailer. It has a wood oven/stove in it. His food gets some heat to make the perfect crunch to the crust and the wood fire gives the pizza a nice smoked flavor. He serves other food items besides pizza , huge chicken legs and wings. They have smoked Mac and cheese and more. The owner showed me the inside of his place and it is pretty cool. Very clean and well organized. He made up my pizza I ordered and let me take some pics. I got a sausage, onion and mushroom pizza. The pizza in like a personal pan, comes with a garlic bread knot on top and peppers. The pizza cooks fast. Maybe in 8-9 mins. As stated earlier crust has the perfect crunch and you immediately will taste the sauce along with that nice smoked flavor. It is a flavor explosion/bomb. Like this seriously is the best pizza I have ever had. I didn't go to NY or Chicago to get it. I got it from a food trailer n Mlwke. Plenty of outside seating. For the warmer months and there is a big screen TV. I dont see that there is no indoor seating as a drawback. This place brings in a lot of orders from businesses near by and very large orders it sounds like. In cooler months just get your food to go. You can order your food. Wait in your vehicle. When it is ready, drive away with your food goodness. Call ahead to pay/order. Drop on in and make sure you leave a review to help this guy get off the ground. Spread the word. A lot of you people that watch my reviews on social media will do what I do when I see a review on a new place.... You will want to check it out. So check this place out and leave a review! This place is just a whole lotta yum! Until the next review, -Yelp Steve-O, out!

Pepperoni pizza

Ordered pepperoni pizza it had no sauce instead wet tomato chunks on it leaving the whole pizza soggy would not recommend here

Very, very different in a GREAT way! Woodfired pizza, but with a very unique crust and thankfully a LOT if toppings! I had the margherita, a cheese/pepperoni/sausage, and the burratta! Pizzas were great, burratta was a 8/10 simply due to my wish for sightly less crisp bread. The crust on the pizzas is perfectly charred, the "sauce" is basically chunky diced tomatoes which is a great twist! Far more toppings than usual wood fire which proportions perfectly with the not too thin, perfectly cooked crust! GO TRY THIS TODAY if you like pizza and want a refreshing new take on the classic

Burnt Cheese Pizza. Yum!!

Met friends at Zaffiro's for dinner, a place they consider one of their favorites. They have always…read moreraved about how incredible the pizza is, and I have to agree. This old school, family owned restaurant is very much a neighborhood classic that has stood the test of time. The thin crust is the perfect base for the amazingly tangy Italian sauce. The toppings are generously portioned, and the pizza (available in 12" & 14") is cut into squares, which make it all too easy to eat more! We started with the fried mushrooms and eggplant, which were very generously sized. Our table of four barely made a dent. The breading on both was great, trapping in the heat, flavors and firmness of the veggies. The eggplant especially, which in my experience can be mushy, was excellent. I loved how it was served with lemon wedges. The tartness of the lemon mixed with the zest of the marinara sauce made the eggplant something I could have eaten just by itself. The restaurant has a bar area first, then a dining room adjacent. The tables here are packed in pretty tight. We ended up at a corner table, and could bump elbows with the people sitting next to us. Still, everyone was respectful of each other's space and no issues were had. Our servers maneuvered through effortlessly and quickly.

I love Zaffiro's: so many of my friends think only of pizza but the menu is so much more!…read more There are options for dining (room or by and at the bar) and a full bar. Every time I go, I always think, "They come to take orders or simply check on us the perfect amount"--I know they want to ensure I've got everything I need but they don't feel overbearing (this is regarding servers or the bartender). Finally, I order the same thing each time: garden salad with house Italian dressing and the special pizza (sausage, mushroom, onion). Salad is crisp and the pizza is consistent--the best.

I love the location of this restaurant, a cozy little nook set apart from the business of downtown but still so accessible! With events happening at the fiserv and new music venue in the deer district, it was a welcome reprieve from the action. The restaurant itself is lively but chill - is there a word for that!? lol very laid back, friendly and informed staff. We were able to snag a seat at the bar which was great - it's probably got 12-15 seats. Full dinner service too! My husband got a mezcal old fashioned (not on the menu) and I got a spicy margarita. Both were great! As for food, the menu is eclectic, but everything looks and tasted great! We got 2 appetizers, the bruschetta and stuff pepper - both were delish!! And then we shared the braised beef risotto topped off the night with a spirit free strawberry Fresca & churros (SO GOOD). Great experience for deciding last minute and getting a walk in spot.

First time coming here…read more Food: The menu has a lot of excellent choices. The drink menu features plenty of specialty cocktails, and I took our server's recommendation and ordered the Whisky Paloma, which was an excellent choice. I loved the chili dust along the rim. If you like pizza, they have an interesting selection featuring ingredients such as peaches, figs, and bacon. It was hard to decide, but I ended up ordering the Burrata pizza with grilled peaches, arugula, and honey. It was very good and would have been even better with a few more grilled peaches. I also ordered the grilled octopus because, if it's on the menu, I just have to try it. It was very good, along with the accompanying roasted potatoes. I prefer my octopus well grilled and firm, and this preparation was a bit softer than I would have liked. We finished with the tiramisu, which was a little disappointing. It was both very cold, as though it had just been thawed, and a bit soggy. Service: The service was very good throughout the evening. We were seated right away, and our server did a nice job of getting us settled in. The drinks and food arrived surprisingly quickly, and we felt well attended to throughout the meal. Thanks, Robert! Atmosphere: The building is a gem, with old brick on the outside and a modern, relaxing design on the inside. There is a foyer where guests are greeted and can wait for their tables. The wood wall treatments and lighting are inventive and upbeat. The many hard surfaces make the acoustics a bit loud, but we were still able to have a conversation comfortably. Overall, it was a very good experience. With a bit more attention to some of the final touches on the food, this could have been an even better experience. We would enjoy coming back again.

Don't get me wrong, I love Milwaukee style pizza, but sometimes it's good to mix it up. The edges were indeed very bubbly and bready and then the pizza innards were a New York pizza style with a thin, bready cheesy texture. Everything was very tasty. I will definitely be coming back.

We have ordered garlic knots, cheese pizza and the margherita pizza multiples times- summer of 2025 however, now we can clearly conclude that they have downgraded their service and food. Previously we had fluffy garlic knots, smothered in sauce and parmesan however now they are serving burnt pizza crust with a sprinkle of parmesan in place of what they are advertising on their website. The pizza dough was still raw and not edible. Perhaps management has changed, as their phone number and location within the building also have and the previous menu is no longer offered which supports this theory. We did order close to closing time and inquired whether it was too late to place an order however they proceeded to take our order regardless. We would have been more satisfied if they had let us know it was too late and they would not be able to provide the quality service we had been given before. Upset to say that we will no longer be ordering from brute, they have officially lost their game.

The open kitchen lets you see the craftsmanship that goes into every order, and the team is friendly, welcoming, and happy to interact with guests. Their passion for what they do really stands out. I definitely ordered more than I could finish, but it was worth it! I recommend enjoying the pizza at the restaurant since it's best fresh from the oven. Since this is an authentic Italian restaurant, they don't serve ranch with their pizza, which I completely understand. I personally love a good ranch with my pizza, but that's just my preference. The Caprese salad was fresh and flavorful, and the pasta ball appetizer was delicious. Between the quality of the food, the welcoming atmosphere, and getting to watch everything come together, this was one of my favorite dining experiences in Milwaukee. I will definitely be back.

We also enjoyed their special pasta and the eggplant fries. Everyone was silent during dinner as they were busy enjoying.
