The event was supposed to have two food trucks, but due to the weather, it was only Flour Girl and Flame. Though the line was long, it moved quickly and the workers were super sweet and friendly! They were killing it! I got the Pep in Yer Step pizza and the hot honey was so good! I'm already planning to go to another one of their events soon! What took me so long to come here?! I've been eyeing this place for ages and finally got the opportunity to try. I am so incredibly glad that I did!! They had a special pizza, which was red sauce, mozz, ramps (which is a type of onion), pepperoni and a garlic drizzle. This pizza was so delicious. We also opted to try the Smolwaukee pizza; this did NOT disappoint. The buffalo wings were amazing and I was really eyeing the bbq ones but opted for the buffalo. I'm not too down with this hot honey fad, so they were able to keep the hot honey off, which I appreciated. They had a Buffalo ranch that complimented the wings so well. This spot does stop serving food May 7th and transition to their food truck. The space is then used to rent out for events and such. I truly look forward to eating here again! read more

Super busy Night decided to come over because my birthday and I wanted to celebrate and this is the place to be. Still all the staff is very attentive and nice regardless of how busy they are. The atmosphere is great and it just so nice. Pizza is delicious. I just love it with the touch of honey. The fact that they have the Detroit style pizza on Wednesday is amazing. Everybody seems super happy and enjoying the conversation the food and even though it's noisy ( in a good way) it feels like home. One of my favorite pizza places in Milwaukee. The crisp yet chewy crust with a sweet twinge at the end, fun flavors, and great vibes. We decided to order for pickup this last time as we knew it was going to be busy. When we got there to pick up our food, there were LOTS of people and more waiting. We ordered a SMOlwaukee pizza (one of our faves) and tried some Charred Lemon & Szechuan Peppercorn Wings. I will premise by saying there are only 5 pizza places that motivate me to ever want a pizza night around here. One is Hup's if I want an old school no frills classic style, one is Santino's Little Italy if I want a Neapolitan style, and another is Flour Girl and Flame's for a delightful sourdough spin. Their pizzas are creative, delicious, and packed with flavor. Flour Girl and Flame can be a pricier pie but I think it is well worth it since one I actually enjoy and I like supporting local businesses, women-owned businesses, and LGBTQ+ supporting businesses. Plus, local businesses that do something creative and unique in their sphere are true gems in the community. Service is typically good just a little awkward when picking up to go orders since you have to walk through the dining space to get to the back where you pick up to go orders. Other than that, everything is good. Flour Girl and Flame also has a food truck that travels around in the warmer months and does pop ups and special events. They even do weddings with a mobile wood fired pizza oven. If you haven't tried them yet, I highly suggest you do! read more

Finally made it over here after seeing and hearing so much about them and was absolutely not disappointed! I love the atmosphere of the place. Even though I was just swinging by to grab a pie it felt so homey and comfortable. Being able to support a progressive, woman-owned and LGBTQIA+ friendly business is something I take great pride in and they make it easy to do that with their amazing food. What a delight! We've been wanting to try this spot for a while. After a couple of misses, we finally made it here! We ordered ahead as we were hoping for food for takeout. We ordered their caesar salad, wood fired focaccia, and their smolwaukee specialty pizza. We ordered over the phone and the person who helped us was friendly and kind. They said our food would be ready in 30 minutes, which was perfect timing. We stopped by to pick up our food and only had to wait a couple of minutes for our order to be completed. It smelled fantastic and took all of our willpower not to bust into the pizza on the ride home. We shared the caesar which was plenty big for two people (though if you like yours heavily dressed, might make sense to get an extra cup of dressing--it worked for us, though!). The wood fired focaccia was all ooey-gooey cheesy, deliciousness. The pizza itself was perfectly baked with high quality ingredients. We opted for the garlic cream sauce for a base and then it comes topped with mozzarella, fennel sausage, foraged mushrooms, and caramelized onions. It was flavorful and had the perfect char. The prices are super reasonable (less than 40 before tip for our order!). The service as I mentioned was lovely. Heard while I was in that they have Detroit style pizza on Wednesdays--I'm so excited to try this next (Detroit style is my fave!). Get to it! read more

I loved that the crust had this amazing focaccia-like texture, and the pepperoni was perfectly crispy. The extra red sauce on top was such a nice touch--I'm getting hungry just thinking about it! As a Chicagoan, I can never give up my #1 spot, but I have to say, this is probably my new second favorite pizza of all time! Finally had a chance to eat at Flour Girl & Flame. Loved the homey vibe (the window of plants!), excellent service, and fantastic pizzas. A 12" pizza would feed 2 people, and you could get an app or salad to go with it if you were hungry. We tried 2 pizzas so we could try some of the great combinations on the menu, and had plenty to take home. We went for the Pep In Yer Step (favorite) and the Pretty Big Dill (very good!). The peppers and hot honey with the thick cup pepperoni = a perfect combo. We decided to try something a little adventurous with the dill pickle pizza - it was really good (especially if you're a pickle person, which one of us very much is). The pizzas came out quickly. We appreciated the selection of NA beverages (Passionfruit LaCroix for the win). If we hadn't enjoyed so much pizza we definitely would have had dessert - so many good options! A lot of their ingredients are locally sourced and they have a lot of unique options in their menu. They also let us get half and half for pizza so we could try different ones. I decided to try Flour Girl and Flame because I had a $10 coupon and had heard mixed feedback. Unfortunately, the experience was very disappointing. While the pepperoni breadstick was good, the pizza itself was horrible and absolutely not worth the money--even with a discount. To be completely honest, a frozen Tombstone pizza has more flavor than what was sold to me last night. The quality, taste, and overall execution were far below expectations. If the breadstick hadn't been decent, this would have been a complete loss. I've enjoyed several pizzas from Flour Girl & Flame, starting with their pop-up's at Zocalo food truck park to their current location. I've had the brunch pizza, Detroit style pizza, their standard wood-fired pizza brunch with their signature hot honey, focaccia cheese bread, and their wings, so I feel I've experienced enough to conclude that they're really good at what they do, and what they do is make delicious food! Recently, I picked up their collaboration pizza with another favorite of mine, Chucho's Red Tacos, which is known for their Beef Birria everything, so when I saw a pizza with birria, salsa verde, and a side of consomme' for dipping or pouring over, it was a no-brainer...I HAD to have this pizza. It was the right decision, and I'm glad I won't have to live with the regret of FOMO because I did not miss it. They use a soir dough for all their pizzas, including their Detroit style, so that means a slightly different texture than usual, but the texture is the same in the right places. It's still chewy and slightly crisp. Their pizza sauce is one of the best I've tasted! The sauce alone is worth getting the pizza, but there is so much more to enjoy. What impresses me is how they are able to maintain most of the Detroit style crust characteristics with sour dough. Detroit style is available on Wednesdays only and they feature a different special with it each week, so go ahead and put that on your calendar right now - I'll wait. On to the wings...get them. They are succulent and delicious and made in their wood-fired oven. Yeah, do that! They now have a dining room next door to the pizzeria called Everyone's Table, which also serves Everyone's ice cream, which means they serve ice cream from several local ice cream makers. Located on a busy-ish street in West Allis, we found some nearby street parking & entered the gorgeous building. Looking at the drink menu, they have a variety of beer & wine. I opted for a Sauvignon Blanc which came in a beautiful glass bottle; the wine was chilled & very fresh. We ordered 2 pizzas: Pep In Yer Step & Pretty Big Dill. Both were fantastic! The Pep had wonderfully charred peppers & a slightly sweet taste due to the hot honey drizzle. My favorite of the 2 was the Dill; a garlicky, creamy, dilly delight! Flour girl and flame had been on my list of places to eat at for some time and let me tell you it did not disappoint! I've been there three times now once for dine-in and twice for take-out. For an appetizer you cannot go wrong with the focaccia strips & marinara (they are the better, fancier cousin of cheese bread). Now for the pizza- their specials are WHERE. ITS. AT. Every pizza variation I have had is excellent. I've had a pizza with Churchos birria, one with chicken and waffles (c'mon how can you not love that?!) and another with crab Rangoon. Each pizza has a delicious crust that is toasted to perfection and drizzled with their hot honey. There is also a perfect amount of bread to toppings ratio. The adorable homey vibe of their restaurant is awesome too. Though as a heads up if you do plan to dine in, there are mostly smaller tables which can be tricky with a bigger group. I sincerely appreciate Flour Girl Flame's ability to create delicious outside of the box pizzas. I had been wanting to try the pizza here for aaaages and it absolutely lived up to expectations. We got a flavorful, seasonal salad to start, the focaccia, an amazing pizza on special I'll be dreaming about for a while, and the richest brownie for dessert. Everything was fantastic. I was so glad they were willing to substitute a vegan sausage on the pizza and also really enjoyed their NA drink options. We went on "Music Bingo Night," it was a Wednesday night and John was the host and he was an awesome guy. It was very clean and open. The bingo DJ was also a really cool guy. Our waitress was very nice; not overly attentive but very friendly and made sure we were good because it was our first time. We ate these huge breadsticks filled with cheese and I about lost my mind because the outside was garlicky and delicious and the cheese pull was off the chain. The pizza was very good but I was stuck on the breadsticks. You can even buy their pizza frozen to make at home later. Awesome place and friendly staff. Thanks for such a fun evening. read more

The pizza is delicious and the customer service was great; we look forward to going back to try some of the other pizzas! It was easy to order online and schedule a pickup, and the pizza was ready right on time. Pizzas we chose: Pesto - Pesto (nut free & dairy free), mozzarella, wood-roasted kabocha squash, crispy kale, candied walnuts, arugula Pep in Yer Step - Red sauce, base layer of pepperoni, mozzarella, cup & char pepperoni, house pickled peppers, Flour Girl hot honey drizzle Both pizzas were delicious! The Pep was a really nice twist on a classic, and we loved the hot honey. The Pesto was unique and the flavors went so well together; the pesto didn't overpower and the sweetness of the squash and the amazing candied walnuts balanced nicely with the other ingredients. The crust was awesome. I love a good crust, and the hint of sourdough was just perfect, and definitely unique to other wood-fired pizzas I've tried. The pizza sizes were nice so we shared the two between the two of us and had leftovers. One pizza for two people would be sufficient if you added a salad, but who doesn't want leftover pizza the next day?! We're already looking forward to going back to try some of the other pizzas!
