Finally got to try Hot Chickz! With that being said, Hot Chickz is a great addition to LP! Tuesday through Thursday they have a happy hour selection from 2-6pm. Its either a sandwhich or wings, fries and a drink for $10 bux. Pretty great deal honestly. I had the sandwhich, and being a spicy chicken spot they have several heat options to choose from. From mild to extra hot. I love spicy food so naturally, I went with "hot - sweatin" the 2nd hottest option on the menu. The food took about 15 mins, definitely didnt mind since they had some great music playing. We got the 2 tenders on texas toast and the sandwhich combos. These were delicious, the chicken was juicy and flavorful and the french fries are amazing! Probably my favorite french fries right now for sure! My biggest complaint, is that the "hot" was not hot at all. It had virtually no heat, so that was a bit of a let down, aside from that though the food is delicious. The brioche bun was nice and soft, while the chicken was huge, crunchy, and still maintained its juiciness. I will say though, the mild spice didn't taste like anything at all. Maybe it was just one of those days but next time, I'll probably get the next spice level up. With this order, I also got their Chicken Wing combo. The fries had the skin on and were perfectly crispy and salty. So good. I was able to get up two flavors for the wings so I got their lemon pepper and mango habanero. The wings themselves were really crispy, which is always my preference. I have to add though that some wings still looked slightly undercooked inside. The lemon pepper was a dry rub but it had some tang and kick to it. Really good. The mango habanero was sweet but spicy; just enough to get the heavy breathing going haha. They were generous to give extra sauce, but honestly the sauce didn't have the flavor like other hot chicken places. When I say no flavor, it's just bland and teaser like getting mayonnaise. The service was okay. The first guy got annoyed with me when I was ready to order once I got inside because I was looking in my bag for my wallet before ordering. He just walked away and went back to swiping the floor and told the other other to take my order. Not a big deal it wasn't even busy. Only 2 party at two tables. That should've been red flag to turn around and leave. This place is run down and it looks like it used to be a Mexican restaurant because they have a salsa station or a pizza joint because there's a brick pizza oven (kind of weird). I ordered the two sandwich combo. Each slider comes with one decent sized tender and fries. I don't drink soda so it's perfect. Prices are perfect! Keep them that way so people can have a chance to come by and get plenty. The sandwich: brioche bun, crunchy slaw, pickles and sauce. The seasoning and texture is perfect! And I know chicken sandwiches! The fries are perfect too. I came a few days later to try their wings. I got the 10 piece. Two flavors. Nice and meaty! So many of these chicken sandwich places have been popping up; I'm sure it's to ride the hype wave that those Popeye's sandwiches did back in a past before the pandemic... Maybe we're just so used to eating extremely spicy food that we have an endurance. -The chicken was a bit dry on the inside, but at least the exterior was slightly crunchy. -The bun itself was just okay. -The fries were a huge culprit here. I could not help but to feel sad while eating them since if they were still hot, or even warm they would have been delicious (it took us less than 10 min to go home). -They were on the cusp of becoming that styrofoamy texture, so not sure if they were left out for awhile or were just old. 2) Mac & Cheese: -SUPER SUPER CHEESEY -They put real cheese in it too, not just the sauce it comes in. So it definitely passes the "pull" test that I do with cheese-y dishes. -My friend really liked this, but it was just a tad salty to me.
