Ordered the usual that I get for dinner and was surprised to find a medium size black hair in the bread crust of one of the chicken tenders that was in my order. Yuck!! talk about gross!! I immediately lost my appetite. I called and spoke to the manager and addressed the issue and they offered to accommodate however, he denied them having anyone with black hair working in the kitchen. I'm not sure what's going on, but this place needs to take more precaution and make sure that the staff is wearing hair nets and gloves while handling the food! This is a health concern to say the least someone could get sick!! Not to mention its just unappetizing!! Please, do better next time!! It's a shame because I really like the chicken from this place. Four of us stopped by around 5:00P on weekday. Only one other patron there. Parking was good. The place is very casual and clean. The staff was good. My wife and I split the chicken nuggets and fries. They were spiced well (medium for us), very flavorful. Fries were good too, just right. Hot Motha Clucker is one of the new locations set in the middle of TO Blvd. Located next to Nothing Bundt Cakes, be sure not to miss the only entrance to the shopping center otherwise a U turn will be in your future. Ok, the chicken is great. The nuggs are tasty but I really enjoyed the strips on the texas toast. I've tried both mild and medium heat (I'm a wuss so I prefer the mild). The fries are ok and well seasoned but they aren't anything memorable. Plenty of pickles that were enjoyed by all. I'm already a bit concerned by that location of HMC as this center isn't very convenient. Additionally, a couple of the menu options were recently removed from the first time I visited. I absolutely love Hot Motha Clucker. This place is aptly named because their chicken can pack some heat depending on your spice level. I love the Nashville Fry Up which comes with two chicken strips, fries, and a drink. Normally, I'm more of a medium or hot kinda guy when it comes to Nashville hot chicken. Not here. Give me that mild, which still brings plenty of heat. The chicken is not just spicy but very flavor and always juicy. These are big thick strips of all white meat chicken. Had a very nice experience here for lunch. We arrived and were greeted immediately by a nice young man who helped answer our questions about the menu. The decorations in here are very trendy and well-done. I was not expecting the nice turf walls, beautiful lights, and light-up signs. The decor alone elevates this place from a chicken shop to a legitimately vibey lunch spot. They have a fun table shuffleboard set up to keep you occupied as you wait for your food. They have plenty of beverage options between the fountain and refrigerator. The food here was exceptional! The fried pickles (which we requested spicy) are only $6.99 and a very large portion. Between 3 hungry people we didn't even finish the whole tray. Our group got 2 of the Original chicken sandwiches and the Tenderific Two. All of the portions were totally filling (I didn't even finish my sandwich) and the chicken was amazing quality - juicy on the inside, crispy and flavorful on the outside. We got plenty of sides of sauce (ranch, special house sauce, and ketchup). I loved the little side of Cole slaw too - it gave a refreshing mixup to the spicy hot food. Knocking down 1 star for two reasons: the fries definitely need improving on. They were not very crispy or well seasoned. Also, when we sat at our table, there was lettuce all over the seat. The rest of the restaurant was totally clean and well maintained, so I'm just pointing this out as a suggestion to be more diligent in between parties. We'd had a big breakfast, but needed something to tide us over to the dinner I planned to make at home. So we ordered the Nashville Fry-up with the two filets and fries plus an extra filet for $2. It includes a 16oz fountain drink -- a nice surprise. We ordered a second drink and shared the food. We were happy to see the drink cost $1.50. We ordered the spice level "medium spice" we both have pretty good tolerance for hot and spicy. Be forewarned. It's HOT. We sat down in the restaurant to eat. At first we took a table to the right, under a vent. Not a good idea. Normally I'm a hot person. But the vent was practically blowing frost. So we moved across the room to a less uncomfortable spot. Our food arrived in a reasonable amount of time, and we enjoyed it, albeit the fries were skinnier than we prefer, and not very crispy. The chicken made up for the deficient fries. Piping hot, crispy, spicy, and the right amount of salt. Ok so lets unpack the... atmosphere and decor? The long walls are covered in fake green plants. A little strange but, Meh. This is quick serve, not white tablecloth. The beer pong table and shuffleboard were crammed into the back right corner. There was an enlarged hundred-dollar bill hung on a wall, embedded in the fake greenery. There were at least 7 high res TVs mounted about 10 feet up. One of the TVs was playing videos with their sound piped into the restaurant's sound system. The music genre was a combination of Latin hip hop, hopped-up raege, dance hall Latin, and Latin rap. The video images consisted not only the artists but also dancers, mostly scantily clad females with lots of greased up rear ends and chests along with a whole lotta shakin goin on. There also was random signage and some kind of pay phone charger contraption. The whole place was just... odd. But that won't stop us from going back. We'd probably go back for takeout, which would be easy, since the food is extremely hot when it comes out. I think the food quality here is better than any of the other Nashville places in the area. Nobody came out for awhile and I wasn't sure if anyone was there (?)finally got help with the kiosk from a person whose personality matched the kiosk. Fries were done to perfection. The mild chicken has a tiny kick so it was good for me. My husband ordered the sliders - one hot and one clucked up. He said the clucked up was hotter than the hot chicken in Nashville (at the hottest level). He was blowing out air and drinking lots of water. Even blowing his nose. He loved it! Lol. I have never been here and was in Thousand Oaks for an errand. So I looked up eateries near me and settled on this place. Got the number six and didn't realize the chicken comes chopped up. Kept falling out of my sandwich, annoyingly-Got medium and should've gotten mild. A lot smaller than it looks in the pictures so that's a disappointment. No clue where anyone is getting "greasy" from because it's definitely NOT greasy. It's also definitely NOT juicy either like some say in their reviews. but it is tender. I did not see any of the white stuff on top of it like all the pictures show. Texas Toast was underdone and that's the best thing about TT and they failed at that. Sadly- Got cheese fries. They are pretty badly fried. Either stale and too crunchy or stale and too floppy. The cheese is like a sauce but not like a crappy nacho cheese sauce and not real cheese either. Maybe 1 step above and had a pasty texture. It's weird and not spectacular. Underwhelming. And came cold. Came with an orange dipping sauce which I can't really tell a difference between that and what's on sandwich. Asked for a side of Ranch. It's real, thick and creamy and darn good! They have no real bar so expect only beer and 1 bottle of red wine on the highest shelf in the place. They do have White Claw and happy hour is buy one get one for a dollar. So I did. She told me their Hollywood location has a full bar. Place is ok. Has a few games: Jenga, shuffleboard, Connect 4. Verdict: I'd rather drive through Cane's and get my 3 chicken fingers with 2 sauces. Our oldest son wanted Nashville hot chicken for his birthday so we decided to try something new and drove over to hot mutha clucker after finding it on Yelp. The location seems small at first then you step in to find a bar, shuffle board and beer pong with tables throughout and even more staged outside for those warmer summer months. The ordering is split between using a tablet or at the bar. We had 10 people with us so ordering at the bar made the most sense. The options are standard with hot chicken spots, loaded fries tenders, sandwiches but my favorite was the chefs special a mix of grilled cheese with hot chicken! The portions were perfect not over loaded just the right amount of everything to satisfy the belly. The medium spice was warm with a little kick but the hot was a burn I don't wanna know what the hottest was! The coleslaw told me everything I needed to know about this establishment, everything is fresh! The slaw was crispy and cool and wasn't soggy like it had been prepared days ago.
