Our oldest son wanted Nashville hot chicken for his birthday so we decided to try something new and drove over to hot mutha clucker after finding it on Yelp. The location seems small at first then you step in to find a bar, shuffle board and beer pong with tables throughout and even more staged outside for those warmer summer months. The ordering is split between using a tablet or at the bar. We had 10 people with us so ordering at the bar made the most sense. The options are standard with hot chicken spots, loaded fries tenders, sandwiches but my favorite was the chefs special a mix of grilled cheese with hot chicken! The portions were perfect not over loaded just the right amount of everything to satisfy the belly. The medium spice was warm with a little kick but the hot was a burn I don't wanna know what the hottest was! The coleslaw told me everything I needed to know about this establishment, everything is fresh! The slaw was crispy and cool and wasn't soggy like it had been prepared days ago. The Mac and cheese I had was beyond awful. No cheese whatsoever, no flavoring, no love. I would have had better Mac come out of a Kraft box. However, Staff was lovely and personable so there's a star for that. If this was purely based off the food then I wish I could give 0 stars. read more

This is the best chicken tender that I've ever had. I just ordered 6 tenders country style(not feeling like heat today) and I don't know how they do it, but this chicken melts in your mouth. Every other place I go it's like rubber. I order, have a beer at the bar, and take it home. Staff is super friendly and I like to watch the music videos that are piped into the shop. I walked in around 5:20 and the place was empty. I ordered the #1 Combo Medium Heat. The sandwich was cooked perfectly, the bun was nicely toasted. The heat level was spot on. Just enough to get my nose running a tiny bit! The fries were decent, the coleslaw had zero flavor. Not even a hint. I enjoyed my sandwich very much but I couldn't eat the slaw. Because the slaw is a very important side in this type of food it's important they address this. My only other gripe is the weird decor. It appears to be very used, very worn tables and chairs, a flimsy beer pong table and on other game that belongs in a bar. And then there's the plastic plant wall. I sat and ate at the bar and devoured my sandwich and it tasted ok ... I left thinking not bad, I'll add this place to my list. Unfortunately, not even an hour had past once I was home, and my stomach started growling :( I knew it was not a good situation ... the last time this happened was when I made the mistake of eating Louisiana Fried Chicken like 8 years ago! I spent an hour on the toilet and typically when I get that reaction, it's to do with hygiene, so that's why I hypothesized that maybe the gloves was the culprit, but nevertheless as a business owner myself, I was not happy, but I don't like writing 1* reviews unless it's 100% deserved. The employees working at this location are very nice, it's a shame things at this location aren't. Kiosk ordering - I can't stand kiosk ordering. Playing chicken with my food! I was compelled to create a Yelp account to post a review of this place because these Motha Cluckers just stole $35.00 from me for serving food that they called "chicken". I ordered the 6 piece chicken fingers for $16.50. They were the thinnest, most overcooked, 98% pieces of breading with barely any visible or detectable chicken. They provided one sauce that was halfway full. Not nearly enough to kill the taste that ran "afowl" How do you mess up coleslaw? They did. It was just basically dry cabbage with nothing wet mixed in that made it consumable. Finally, they didn't have ice water to drown the experience of the burnt breading taste. My dog ate some of the mushy fries so I guess not all was lost. Looking forward to other chicken places coming soon. Review Part 2 George G, (self proclaimed owner) reached out and invited me back to retry the food "on the house" as an exchange to take down my review. I very quickly communicated that I appreciated the offer and that I wasn't looking for a free meal but would rather just have a refund based the quality of the food and the experience that I received on the initial visit. George G then ghosted me with no response to a refund. I don't send food back and felt my request was fair for what we got served. Hmmmm....maybe the product reflects the ethics of the ownership? Side note: it actually wouldn't be "on the house" because I originally paid $35 for the unacceptable burnt breading noted above and pictured below. Call 'em as I see 'em chicken little. Buyer beware, my review and pictures are authentic and so is his lack of professionalism and failure to stand by his product. Which is exactly why I said that they stole my $35 for this food. Chicken strips were just dried up and overcooked batter with little chicken inside. Chicken breast was juicy but very salty. All we tasted was the salt and not the chicken. Fries were the limpest we have ever seen. Coleslaw was put in the box with the hot food which ruined it. Service was super slow. They gave us an extra chicken breast for waiting 20 minutes when there were only two other customers in the place. Note sure if this bad experience is because they are new but I can't imagine that we will be back. I know running a restaurant is hard but this was not a good experience.
