We came here 10 years ago for our wedding night. A couple weekends ago we came back to celebrate our 10 year wedding anniversary! This hotel is beautiful and we had a wonderful time. Surprised I haven't reviewed here yet. Been coming to this hotel for about 20 years. Lovely hotel part of Dio Deka, and across from LG high school. Has changed ownership a few times. Typically stay in one of their two top suites which has balconies and jacuzzi tub and two fireplaces. Could use a bit of TLC when it comes to finishing work like tile. Even though I live local I'll often grab a room just to hang out. Very reasonable rates. read more

We recently stayed at this hotel and had a bit of a mixed experience. The property itself is beautiful -- very warm, comfortable, and extremely quiet. We absolutely loved the ambience and decor, which felt very Californian Mediterranean in style. The location is centralized and convenient, and the pricing felt fair and accurate for what you get. Overall, the hotel atmosphere made for a relaxing stay. However, our experience with the front desk left a lot to be desired. The receptionist who checked us in was unfriendly, had noticeable attitude, and didn't seem to care that we were there. While she did ultimately accommodate the specific room we requested -- which we appreciated -- the interaction felt cold and unwelcoming. The following day, we called the front desk with a question about our room. The receptionist who answered transferred us directly to a 1-800 number, and the call eventually disconnected. It felt like we were brushed off rather than helped. The customer care overall came across as very unfriendly and lacking warmth. The buffet breakfast was also underwhelming -- small selection and mostly carbohydrates -- so we chose to have breakfast elsewhere. In summary, the hotel itself is lovely and well-located, but the level of service at the front desk did not match the quality of the property. With more attentive and welcoming customer service, this would be an excellent place to stay. read more

reservation would not let me pay on arrival, so I paid in advance because I was told that the travel insurance would cover me in case I had to cancel. I discovered that the insurance does not cover any preexisting conditions. The purpose of the trip was to visit Better Place Forrest as a burial site. So, no coverage by insurance company. There's so much to love about this hotel and there's one major thing to hate. This is such a beautiful hotel, it feels very quaint and peaceful. The pool is wonderful, some of the lounges are a little wobbly but nothing major. There's a nice breakfast with little quiches and yogurt and things like that. Inside the rooms, they have a nespresso machine and the beds are nice. With one exception. The pillows are absolutely, hurt your neck, awful. I usually leave hotels having slept so comfortably-- this is actually the only one in my decades of traveling that I have not. Twice we've stayed here and had to call in the middle of the night to ask if they have different pillows. They do have feather ones but they don't keep them in the rooms. The feather ones were tolerable and we got a few hours sleep on them but not enough. If you stay here, bring your own pillow! The bed also pitched in the middle which didn't help the comfort level but the problem was primarily the pillows. They have a nice fitness room with a great selection of weights, a peloton, treadmill and some other things. The workout bench was broken when I got there and I alerted staff right away as this would be very dangerous if someone did a weighted step up, which I was about to do when I noticed it. read more

A gem in the San Jose area. It was our first time staying in Los Gatos, so the whole experience was a wonderful discovery. Hubs found the hotel and it was a perfect location for our weekend. We arrived late, the lobby was clean, staff attentive. I asked for and was provided maps of the local area & recommendations. Our room was clean and spacious. The bathroom has a tub and tiled shower, with plenty of room. The best part, for me, was the bed. I'm a bit of a princess-and-the-pea when it comes to mattresses. This was not too soft, very comfortable and we got great sleep. The rooms have refrigerators, stocked with mini bar drinks. In room coffee & tea is available, as well as 24 hour self-serve coffee & tea in the lobby. The location worked out well for us with sight seeing. A short walk to the downtown area. Cute coffee spot across the street with delicious breakfast wraps. We'd definitely come again!! read more

I LOVE THIS PLACE! I WANNA MOVE IN!!!! It's so romantic and picturesque. If you want to do a staycation I recommend choosing this place. Nestled beautifully in downtown Los Gatos and just steps away from shops and restaurants. They have a quaint pool and jacuzzi area for your pleasure as well. My husband and I were catching a show at Mountain Winery on a Sunday so instead of taking Monday off I just booked a room. I believe they have a restaurant on site so that's convenient. Check in was a breeze. Parking was plentiful. The buildings and property transports you out of California. It's as if you are in a little village in Italy. The room we were assigned had french doors that opened up to a little seating area and a few steps away from the pool. Bed was large and comfy and sheets were soft. They provide you with two robes. Don't you just love a hotel that offers robes? I do! I booked this place on line about a month before our concert and got a really good deal! I'll be back! read more

Bed bugs! The worst and disgusting experience that I ever had. The hotel had bed bugs. I drove all the way from LA to visit my friends. And I searched for the good and decent hotels around and I found this one, so I drove straight to the hotel and they had room available with more than $300 for night. So you will think you are getting a nice and decent room. But unfortunately the room was so disappointing. The room was very small and old. The bathroom faucets was leaking water as soon as you would open them. The TV was just basic TV channels. So anyway took a shower and nap for a bit then went out with friends and came back around 12 am. I got ready to bed that suddenly I saw bed bugs on my pillows and bed. They were some small ones and one big one. Which I'm lucky that I saw them before I sleep. I called the reception and I told him I have bed bugs. So he came and saw them and told me, "In this situation usually we will offer another room, but we don't have any availability right now so I don't think that you want to stay in here so we will return your money ". Even if they had another room available, I wouldn't trust them. I asked him how I'm going to find a hotel in the middle of the night? I asked him if he could help. But he said, sorry I can't help you with that. I was so mad at that point. And they didn't even had manger available. Very bad costumer service on top of the bed bugs problem. Which I thought they should be more helpful in this situation. Anyways I packed My stuff and I had to drove back to LA cause I couldn't find any other hotel. I can't believe that they ruined my night and all my plans like that. I felt so sick and disgusted after that that I'm still feeling itchy all over. The best hotel in LG. I have had several friends and colleagues stay here when they visit and they are always complimentary. It also helps that it is right by downtown LG with great restaurants, bars and hiking trails. The experience with the sales team was not great but the actual event I hosted there recently went off well. We will be back, that's for sure. Originally I was looking online for places to stay and this location came up. I had called and spoke to Brooke to enquire about their room and in room massage package. Unfortunately because of our friend RONA lol massages are off the table for now. But she was able to help me book a room. I had explained this was our first trip away from having our toddler for a night! Two years and this was finally our first night away from her lol. It was amazing. Anyways, I wanted to surprise my husband with this getaway. Brooke went above and beyond to assure our visit was perfect! We got a room with a bottle of wine waiting for us to sit and unwind for the weekend. We arrived and was lucky enough to meet and be greeted by Brooke upon arrival. She had the friendliest smile and attitude and I was there for it! She got us all booked and taken care of us, and gave us a beautiful balcony room facing the courtyard which we JUST LOVED! The property is super clean, their lobby is currently being remodeled, which will be beautiful once completed. It's separate from most the rooms so it doesn't disrupt anyone. We loved the beautiful serene courtyard. Plenty of spaced seating for you to sit and enjoy the sound of the fountain or go swimming in their pool area. They have a filtered water bottle system between the two that we utilized a LOT! I had called to see if they had a gym which they didn't which was fine but again Brooke suggested a nice place to workout across the street in a beautiful lawn. I opted to do my Zumba in the courtyard early in the am and it worked out great! I also want to thank Gabriela for her kind customer service the evening on Saturday with assisting my husband with some questions he had. She didn't hesitate to answer his questions and helped us. These ladies are great, and this is why when we come out that way again we won't be staying anywhere else and will be recommending this place to friends and family as well! This business is discriminatory against military personnel who have military tattoos. If I could give negative stars I would. I was attending my father's funeral and my brother had made reservations for my mother, himself and his family and my wife and I. My wife had called earlier in the day when we were supposed to be arriving at the hotel, we drove from out of state, and explained to the day manager that we were going to be late arriving. The day manager said that was fine the reservation had our last name just check in with the night employee. My wife and I arrived around 12:40 am and I attempted to check in. The night employee, a tubby man had brown hair cut short all around, wore glasses. This employee proceeded to tell me that there was no reservation in my name. I explained that my brother had made multiple reservations for my mom, my wife and I and him and his family. We were all coming to California from out of state to bury my father. This employee continued to tell me I had no reservations in my name. I tried calling my brother but he was asleep and didn't answer his cell phone. I asked the employee to call my brother's room but he told me he could not because of privacy laws. I called my mother on her cell phone and she answered. I gave my phone to this employee but he said he could not confirm it was really my mother stating in the hotel. I continued to ask the employee to call my brother's room but he refused and referenced an Illinois privacy law. Which made zero sense in California. Since I was not leaving this employee then called law enforcement to have me removed. They never arrived but I left since clearly this guy was unwilling to let my wife and I to stay in the hotel. This employee also told my wife when she came in to see what was taking so long, "If you're with him, you can leave," before she said anything. On Monday my brother spoke to the manager and showed him on the reservations that my full name was there. So I can only think it was my military tattoos, my hat that said I was an Iraq/Afghanistan vet, I just do not know. But by all means DO NOT frequent this establishment! Their employees seem to pick and choose who they believe is good enough to stay there, and I guess veterans who served 25 years are not good enough for them! read more

The rooms are dull with very cheap decor and the vibe of the hotel is depressing...In the morning they serve stale pastries and Keurig coffee which is a hard pass for me...Considering the fact that the hotel is considered to be "5 Star" I would think they would go to the effort of brewing a fresh pot of coffee in the morning. I visit Los Gatos regularly but I will never stay here again...The Toll House up the street is such a better hotel experience in every way...The rooms are bigger, brighter, the location is better, and they serve fresh coffee in the morning! read more

Yes, COVID. Hospitality is difficult right now. I get it. However, the experience at Hotel Los Gatos isn't worth the price. Not even close. Generally it was disappointing. Specifically, our room was run down and in disrepair. It may seem like a minor thing, but our bathroom light was broken. It would only stay on for about ten seconds at a time. Which means if you have the misfortune to have to pee in the middle of the night, you start fine but end up in darkness. I alerted the front desk staff within an hour of checking in. Thankfully, as I checked out they thanked me for flagging it and plan to fix it tomorrow. I've learned that I don't like pooping in the dark. Further, the bathrooms and bedrooms are connected via a door and an open area of wall covered by a shutter. So, in my room, if I was so inclined, I could lay in bed and look directly into my loving wife's eyes as she pooped. This . . . is not the experience we are looking for on vacation. Or not on vacation for that matter. I was told when I suggested this was a terrible idea that a re-model was planned and the design was inspired by Moroccan architecture. I spent my afternoon googling Moroccan bathrooms just to see what the hell they were talking about. No example I could find had a direct line of site from bed to thrown. Not to mention . . . the steam and smells and sounds from the bathroom just go right into your bedroom. You can close the shutter but that only deals with one of your senses impacted by this inexplicable design decision. I'd ask to avoid those rooms if I were you. But what did I get for 400 a night? A broken down, poorly designed room and zero effort to do anything about it. I'm not an important guest and, again, times are tough, but give me a bathroom that works for this price. It's not too much to ask. read more

I would have given it 5 out of 5 had they not pulled this garbage: "An amenity fee of $25 per night will be collected at check-in. The amentify fee includes in-room coffee and tea, on-site parking, high-speed wifi and outdoor heated pool access." I totally missed this fee because it was not included in the itemized reservation confirmation. They placed the *notice* of the fee in the small print and only charged it after I checked-out. The irony is that I'm allergic to carpet beetles. So now my luggage and clothing are outside in my driveway. I don't want to risk bringing the eggs or bugs into my home. I'm totally grossed out. Check-in was delayed as they were giving priority to a wedding party for their choice of rooms over first come first serve. We did arrive early although on a Monday figured that might not be an issue. We went to lunch and came back about 2:30-3 and it still wasn't ready. We waited until about 4 when they let us know it was ready for check in. We booked a suite which was nice although could use some slight updating. From the website I thought our suite would have a nice balcony over the pool which is what I requested but what we received was a small cramped balcony over the parking lot. They again said all the rooms by the pool were blocked off for a wedding party. The pool and hot tub were nice although MUCH smaller than it appeared from photos and poolside only has about 8 chaise lounges for seating. The on-site restaurant looked nice but again was closed for the wedding party. I'm not sure if this is the norm but when you pay a premium for a suite and then most of the property is blocked off to accommodate a special event it doesn't make it a location I will rush to return to. The location was nice. A short walk to town and plenty of restaurants to try. And it's location to the airport was very convenient. read more
