We stayed here for the nights leading up to our son's wedding. Kiely this is as inexpensive as it gets in this fancy town. For about $200+ a night at the "event rate" I have some quibbles: --There is no bathroom door and the paint was chipping in the bathroom --no full length mirror --it is impossible to do your makeup bc the mirrors are all too far away, --the room lighting is not great That said the positives: --room rate is reasonable for this area, and a great location --there is a fridge in the room read more

The good: beds were very comfortable, rooms were clean and modern. The bad: all things customer service: - wanted to book a room block for a wedding, very difficult to get in contact with someone, should have been a red flag and avoided the block but we persevered... the link to our block inconsistently worked, people struggled to add on bookend dates though we had been assured this was no problem, and we never got any updates on the status of how much of the block was booked despite asking many times by email and by phone. - our bridal suite reservation was messed up but we were able to fix it last minute (though did not get as good a price) - one of the other rooms in our reservation was just missing despite a confirmation number... when they looked it up someone else's info came up that contradicted our confirmation email. I could go on. We chose this hotel for the proximity to 17 and it is in a very cute area of Los Gatos and could not be any more convenient for getting on highway 17. But I would have rather stayed on the other side of the mountains in the Hilton for all the hassle and stress this caused. I would not choose this again. read more

This used to be a nice place to stay, but they sold to someone, probably a private equity firm that is cutting costs everywhere. Now you only get water the first night, they don't provide water on subsequent days. The front desk person is super nice but overworked. They now have them cleaning up and handling set up of the food station, so they are often away from the front desk for long periods, 30-60 minutes, which is wild. They forget to send invoices now which are needed for company reimbursement. They replaced their customer service number with a robot, and no one seems to be answering their live line. And the rooms don't have light switches at the door so you have to fumble around in the dark with your luggage to find the nearest lamp. This used to be a good place to stay in the past but I won't be staying there again. read more

My fiancé and I stayed here for a night as we were celebrating a friend's birthday in the area. Note, the average age of the patrons here seems to be 65+, if not older. This is Los Gatos after all. We checked in at ~4:30PM and the lady working the check-in counter told us that our room wasn't ready, but still gave us a room. Whether we got the room we paid for, we'll never know. The lobby is nice, but the rooms are dated. There is only one elevator that services the Garage, Lobby, 2nd, and 3rd floors and it's slow. Take the stairs if you're able to. Breakfast is nothing to write home about - typical hotel drip coffee, bagel, and pastries. You're in DTLG - do yourself a favor and walk down Santa Cruz Blvd and head to one of the local coffee shops for breakfast. If you're here on a Sunday, there is a Farmers Market across the street. +1 star for EV (Tesla and non-Tesla) charging that is available in the parking garage. read more

Upgraded to a suite. Hotel was empty. Not well kept. I have stayed here multiple times in the past and love the location. The toilet paper roll was barely hanging on the wall, the floor had a bunch of old flower petals on it like someone proposed and cleaners forgot to vacuum also, the curtains would not completely close and the lamps are flimsy and need to be addressed (they are loose and flimsy) when I complained they said we rely on feedback from our customers. I said doesn't maintenance make the rounds and check for loose items? I have stayed here many times in the past and it has never been this bad. read more

I recently stayed here for a work event being held at the hotel. The hotel is at the end of the main road, tucked away in the back. The hotel itself is okay, nothing fancy but not awful. The walls are thin so you can hear everything and the door to the room lets in a lot of light in the evening and putting a towel in front of it did not help. There was a snack bag with a handwritten note on the desk in my room and that was a nice touch. When we checked in, we asked the Director of Sales and Marketing what the weather would be the following day and received a blank look with a response of, "I don't know." Ok. We can look it up ourselves but I found it odd to not know. Our sales manager was out sick the day we checked in and when I asked for her the next day, I was told she would be in later in the day. We never did connect and no one from the team checked in with our company to see how the accommodations were. We shipped some items to the hotel ahead of our arrival and they were waiting for us when we arrived, so I was very thankful for that. There are two standout employees, Sam and Brian, who were very nice and helpful. In fact, they took care of us for the two days we were there. Sam took great care in making sure our meals and snacks were on time and to our liking and our AV needs available and working. Brian did an excellent job of keeping the conference room clean and restocked and constantly checked the room for any issues. The front desk staff was also very helpful and accommodating. Overall, my stay wasn't bad but not what I expected in a town like Los Gatos. read more

I had a wonderful experience at this hotel. I am local to Northern California but had never visited the area of Los Gatos. The hotel is in a quaint area with lots of restaurants in walking distance. Check in went well. My room was clean upon check in at on the second day. I was attending a conference and we ate breakfast, lunch and dinner provided by the hotel. All of the food was good. There is plenty of parking and I felt safe. This is an older hotel so their rooms are not as modern. read more

Beds are hard as a rock; power and usb strips in desk do not work. Asked for help from the front desk on the bed situation and were not willing to help. Light bulbs out in room. This place is dirty as well. Restaurant only open from Wednesday on.... I'll stop there. Not worth the $220 a night at all. So lower class this hotel does not belong in Los Gatos. I decided to head back to the town in lived in for over 20 years. Lots of plans/ visits with friends. I usually stay at another place in town that's very beautiful right across from, LG high school. What a mistake! There are only 3 things that make this place okay, they are the wonderful new eatery, the texting from the front desk to check on your stay and last but most certainly not last, Location! And I emphasize the "Location". It's at the very end of the most popular street in town. This is where the good news ends...Oh wait they did have a room safe for my valuables and cash. I had heard/read that they did a major remodel. The rooms were not part of that as mine was old and grubby. From a bent lampshade to a broken makeup mirror (which they replaced) They do give you 2 free bottles of water per day but that's it! Heaven forbid if you want more...I had to go down to 7/11 to get more. My girlfriend was going to spend Friday night only but they still put on the reservation (2) guests. I specifically asked for a quiet room. It was at the end of a very long hall; room 339 for reference. The room to my left had a constant sound like a cord hitting the wall. It was so disruptive and continuous. I did complain multiple times to no avail. The worst thing was absolutely no room service whatsoever, this is horrible for a place like this. We couldn't even get wine glasses and had to drink out of the cheap paper coffee cups. Don't even try to drink the coffee, it's horrible... We called down on Friday evening to see if we could get a "to go" order from the eatery that's in the hotel itself ( I'll get to that review later) . They said No! Like we couldn't even order and bring it up to our room!? Seriously?! We then asked them to bring up a couple of waters since we didn't get maid service that day. The front desk said; "okay but we'll have to charge you"... After all that no one brought us any water. We were exhausted from waking all around town that day so I could see the new and the old. I couldn't check out of there fast enough Sunday morning. I had a wonderful time with my friends and visiting my favorite haunts. Obviously I don't recommend this place, stay at the most luxurious hotel across from the High School. It has a pool and the room service is epic! Check out the destination tax for each night, $25 per night that is outrageous! I'm used to the other charges but I've never seen one this high! Same as a budget hotel. Done and Done. read more

I'm paying over $450 for one night and there is jackhammering outside my window at 9:30 PM. I call the front desk and ask "What's that noise outside about?". The smart-ass remark I got was "I don't know, I'm not outside". She said she will send someone to find out. I'm not at all confident anything will happen. This looks like a city project. Clearly, I cannot be the only person asking. I was told Los Gatos was quiet after 10:00 PM. How can the hotel operator not know this is going on? The hotel is sold out so I cannot change rooms. Location, location, location! The location of this hotel is where it is at. Walkable to all the cuteness that Los Gatos has to offer. Free ample underground parking, dog friendly, a beautiful restaurant on site, a balcony overlooking a courtyard, quiet, free car charging for both Tesla and regular cars. This place loses a star because the pricing is a bit on the high side. While the hotel is nice, it it's not super nice to justify the price tag. We decided to splurge, figuring that we would save on not needing to pay for round trip Uber to the downtown Los Gatos from a less expensive but more distant option. read more

Would never stay here again. It is baffling why someone would use scented laundry detergent in a public building. So easy to follow suit with 95% of other hotels and use unscented. We have a large number of room with our group and if not, I would have left and stayed elsewhere. We'll be letting our travel agent know not to book us at this hotel the next time we have work here. Bizarre there are no cups available in the room except for the paper coffee cups. The room has that "damp" smell to it. The door going into the bathroom area with the shower/toilet has never been cleaned. It is glass an extremely dirty. Guess they never open it to check it. Without fail, no matter when we went to the front desk there was no one there. We checked in about 8:00am and rang the bell a number of times before anyone came. Other times throughout the day there has been a note that the staff were away from the desk. Clearly they are trying to get by on a shoestring budget. read more

Was told checkin was at 3pm. We showed up and had to wait 2 hours. Bar and restaurant were closed and staff was surely. Room was a huge disappointment. Reserved double queen but due to a mix up got and paid for a double double. Oh boy! Shower had empty shampoo/ conditioner containers. No glasses in the room only 2 paper cups? A remarkably rude man checked my wife in on the afternoon of June 15, 2024. I had made a mistake in making the Expedia reservation for the Hotel. The man (maybe was a manager) told my wife that whoever made that reservation had "no brains" and that we had to deal directly with Expedia. Came to Los Gatos for a little birthday get away, and had a very pleasant experience here! We got a free room upgrade/a complimentary bottle of Prosecco for my birthday. Only small issue was our room didn't have an ice bucket or glassware, so we called down to have some sent up and no one got back to us for a few hours until my partner went down and got some. Great location walking distance to all of the restaurants and dancing. Room was ready on time and was clean and comfortable. Free continental breakfast in the morning which is Starbucks coffee, a piece of fruit, a muffin, and a small bottled water. The gym area looked great. They have 2 Peloton & 2 Keiser bikes on the deck outside. It was a bit cold to sit out in the courtyard but it looked nice. There is construction right next to the lobby. There used to be a restaurant on site but not anymore. The garage is locked and safe. I would definitely stay here again. read more

The hotel is in a nice area, close to a lot of good restaurants. Parking is easy and they have plenty of EV chargers in the underground garage. The lobby and outdoor courtyard areas are pretty cool but the rooms are not good. They are super dated and feel old and dirty. The beds were very clean, but the carpets, furniture, curtains etc could use a change. The door, which looked like it was from the 1960s or earlier, had to be slammed shut or else it would not close. Our view was the parking lot and the restaurant/bar next door. Be aware if you get one of these rooms you will hear noise from that establishment until around midnight. Unfortunately the windows also appear to be pre-dual pane so they do transmit a good amount of sound. The hotel could be excellent if the owners would invest some money to update them. read more

So many things! There are only 2 paper cups for coffee, nothing to drink water out of. Called and asked the desk for cups and she said they don't give out cups. The next morning I went to the desk and got 2 cups. Saw the housekeepers on the way out for the day and told them we were leaving. Got back at 10pm and our room was never made up. Called the desk for towels and they said we would have to come down to the desk to get them. The next day the housekeepers took back the cups I had to go down to the desk to get. We just stayed at this hotel for the second time and are very pleased that we returned. The room was ready for us to check in early and that was a big advantage for us. The bathroom is quite large and the beds and bedding were very comfortable. We had a balcony overlooking the trees and greenery in the back of the hotel. The employees were very friendly and all of the amenities were excellent. The hotel is right in the center of town and we could walk to restaurants and shops. We feel like this is a real "find" and plan to stay there again when we visit Los Gatos. read more

Stayed here for a girls weekend and was very confused by the previous review and stars. The staff is amazing, so helpful and kind. Staff truly wanted to make sure my friends birthday weekend was nothing short of amazing. We had ordered champagne and a delicious bottle, glasses and service was delivered to our room. As turndown service, they delivered warm cookies to our room. Our favorite part of our trip was lounging in the Toll House robes by our fireplace in our room. Thank you for providing impeccable training to your staff to ensure guests weekends are incredible. We will definitely come back and definitely recommend staying here. 11/10 read more

Arrived in the evening.. We had to really watch for when to turn to where to pull in to get to the front desk area. To check-in, you'd have to drive around to the back of the building. Dogs with no weight limit are welcome and depending on which room you get will determine the fee. We had a Queen Deluxe Room with the pet fee of $75. I called to see if dogs can stay in certain rooms only prior to checking in but I was told nope-- dogs can stay in any room. I requested bowls for the dog when we checked in and someone brought it to our room within 20 minutes. Our room was on the second floor. We had to slam the door to shut it so I felt super bad for our neighbors.. The room had all the regular amenities.. TV, fridge, coffee maker.. oh, and a robe. We had a balcony with two chairs.. The hotel had a restaurant and bar. A community sitting area outside.. Didn't use any of it.. Well, I tried to get drinks at the bar and was told they were open for a private party. So no drinks? Yeah. I didn't notice any indication of hey private party, you're not included.. Maybe ropes or a sign would've been nice. There was also a little business center, i saw a bunch of DVDs-- to rent, i assume. Who does that? Families probably? idk. I wasn't informed of this. There was a little store you can buy snacks and drinks.. I forgot my toothbrush and YES! you can hit up the front desk for a complimentary pack that includes a toothbrush and toothpaste. Parking is free and is located in walkable distance of restaurants and stores. read more

We had been to this hotel several years ago for a cocktail and an appetizer while staying in Los Gatos with friends. It looked great and I knew the next time I came to town I would want to stay there. I booked a KIng room for a Sunday night via the hotel website, CSAA discounted rate. Upon check in for room #244 I was told the bar and restaurant were closed on Sunday's and Monday's. I was quite surprised and disappointed. My room was at the back facing the parking lot of the hardware department next door, crappy location. The room was nice enough inside but the windows that did open had no screens and lots of spider webs, bugs, etc. It was nasty looking so I did not open the windows. The lamp on the left side of the bed would not turn on and I found it had been unplugged. I left the hotel shortly after check in to go to my friend's house around the corner and a homeless man was right outside the steps of the main hotel entrance on the street. He was grunting at me as I came down the stairs and then started coming towards me. I felt uneasy and called the hotel afterwards to let them know I would be coming back at night and I was alone and uneasy on walking back in. MacKenzie at the front desk said she would call the non emergency police number to ask him to leave but there really was not much they could do about it. When I returned he was not there. I went into my room and attempted to lower the roll up dark out shades on the windows, one on the right worked fine and the second one on the left instantly fell off and hit my hand and I have a bruise today (Monday). I called the front desk and they sent up a maintenance person, he said to me, did you pull to hard and I said No, I just started lowering it like the other one and it fell off. Ridiculous! During the night there was a lot of parking lot noise, sounded like people banging on dumpsters and trashcans. The people above me were stomping all night too. I did not get a good night's sleep at all. This was my first and last time staying here for sure. read more

Stayed here last night and it was a miserable experience. I am here for work training and am doing some important testing for my career. All of that is up in smoke now because this hotel allows minors to party all night without recourse. All night I'm listening to people scream and yell, smoke, slam doors all night. Absolutely ridiculous. These were not adults and most of them looked under age. I contact management but exactly nothing was done. Was told it was prom night, so it was game on in this town. I had a reservation at Toll House in Los Gatos for a March work trip. When I arrived, they had my reservation on file, which I had made weeks prior, but no room was available. The excuse given, along with what felt like a disingenuous "sorry," was Expedia messed up, and you should've gotten an email earlier this morning to assist with relocating you. When I informed the hotel that I did not book through Expedia, no help was offered to resolve the situation, which was 100% due to their mismanagement. I travel extensively, and this is one of those anxiety-inducing scenarios you hope never happens, made worse by the lack of accountability. I indeed would've been charged a cancellation fee if I had canceled my stay on the day of the reservation. Still, Toll House did not reciprocate with any indemnification attempt after informing me on the day of my reservation that no room was available and that I was on my own to seek alternative lodging. read more

I came at about 5ish to check in on a Saturday night. The place was so quiet and empty. The receptionist was done getting someone checked in and I was up next... after a while standing waiting for her to answer a phone call. Then there's more people coming in to check in. After a few or so, she did said thanks for waiting and then the check in was fast and easy. My room was in 2nd floor. Room was clean and so was the bathroom which is a plus. I can walk out to the back and there's a small patio seating or there's a common area with fire pit (of course it was too freezing on a winter night that no one was out). The lighting was so beautiful. The next morning, I checked out very early and there was a coffee and a complimentary breakfast box that contains a muffin, bar and bottle of water. But where's their famous cookies at? I was looking forward to that. Overall, my stay was pleasant. read more

Disappointed starting at arrival. First impression: construction supplies (lumber, cement bags) stacked at the main entrance. Website invited guests to enjoy a "newly renovated hotel." Did not indicate construction was in progress, noisy and visible from our room. One reason hotel was selected was in-house restaurant and bar. Website did not indicate hotel restaurant and bar were closed, a surprise to us at check in. The screen door in our room was torn and tattered. Maybe our room hadn't been renovated? The front desk ran out of the grab and go breakfasts by 9am on 12/12, an hour before closing. When we complained about construction and amenity closure at check in, the Desk supervisor offered us and our son 30 percent off room rate to compensate. We received the discount, our son did not. Our son brought his luggage to the garage, went back to his room. Although he hadn't yet checked out, housekeeping had already begun cleaning. read more

Had a pleasant stay here. Had a few issues with construction but staff and especially Nick was quick to address the situation. Solutions were met in a timely manner. Housekeeping was on point with cleanliness and seemed very friendly in passing. Maintenance was also very kind in assisting me with the fireplace in my room since I'm oblivious with technical issues. Heater works effectively! Heated my room up with the quickness! Overall I had a pleasant stay, will be back again! Two thumbs up! read more

Updating review. The general manager, Aaron, was very responsive to our concerns and seemed to understand the underlying issues I was raising. He also offered us a very generous financial resolution, which I was not expecting. I do believe he's going to take steps to address the issues. He seems sincere and competent. So I do have hope that things will get better. I've never had such a horrible experience at a hotel. Rude front desk employees; room key suddenly stopped working and front desk employee not only did not know how to get us into our room but later claimed she'd told my husband she could let us in with a master key when she'd never said any such thing; no housekeeping services for 2 days; water suddenly shut off in the shower 2 days in a row; etc etc. For the price of $233 night (which for me is a lot), I expected a very different experience.
