Staying at the Kimpton for the last three days and the customer service is amazing. The hotels front desk has been great with any request. They have sent a text message everyday to see if there is anything they can do to help with your stay. The rooms are updated and clean. Great location directly next to Rainey St. Perfect small bars and food trucks. Everything else in Austin is only a $7 Uber ride away. Great job by Paul, Kara, Sioux and Alexandra for above and beyond customer service. The hotel is fun and eclectic with a coffee house, restaurant and if your a club member free happy hour from 5-6 every night. It's our last day here and I would recommend the Kimpton to anyone looking for a fun getaway with the customer service being top notch. read more

Mostly good with a few snafus. I got a rockstar of a deal for the Kimpton Van Zandt. It was part of Expedia's Cyber Monday sale which they put some hotels up for 90% off. It's almost impossible to get these hotel deals as they sell out in literally one second. Unless you're me and you've mastered it. So rather than pay $270/night, I paid $27/night. Yes, really. Though I did have to pay the full taxes, so all in all I paid $70/night. Told you it was a rockstar deal. Thanks to my IHG Premier credit card I have, I have Platinum Elite status with IHG. Kimpton happens to be an IHG member now, so my status got me an upgraded room! This wasn't just some better view room, I went from a 350 square foot double room to a 650 square foot double room with a sitting area and a jacuzzi bathroom. There was a card in the room showing all of the things you could have sent to your room for free, and I instantly took advantage of getting a coffee maker sent up, complete with complimentary K-Cups. Great start! The hotel had a really cool feel to it, and the free happy hour with wine and beer from 5pm-6pm daily helped continue the party vibe. People have complained about the hotel being loud, well we didn't really notice it but we were out on the town most of the time. There were some small service issue, but a big one came when we left in the afternoon/evening and called down to make sure they could still make up the room. We were told they would, and we gave some notes for the housekeepers about a few things. When we stumbled back in at 2am, the place hadn't been touched. Not sure who dropped the ball, but disappointing when you're staying in such a nice hotel and actually call to request service and not get it. They made it up with a restaurant credit, but that was a whole other disaster (see my review for Geraldine's to read about it). I'd stay here again in a heartbeat, especially if it was $27/night. At $270/night, probably not. But if you've got a few bucks and are looking for an amazing location and a fun vibe, Van Zandt is the spot. read more

Great spot! Beds were comfortable, clean. The hotel is a happening spot but also located right next to Rainey street so you've got Austin nightlife at your dinner tips. They've got a fun happy hour every day in the lobby which is shiek and comfortable, nice coffee spot in the morning, Geraldines restaurant with live music and the service was awesome from the front desk to the valets. The ONLY reason I'm giving this a 4 star rating - $60 per day valet parking. I've never paid that much anywhere. Was the only downer. Otherwise highly recommend. read more

don't think I've ever taken the time to leave a review in my life, but this hotel deserves the time. Everything about this place is perfect. The music they play throughout the hotel, the happy hour every day, THE FRESH FRUIT INFUSED WATER available 24/7, (it's life changing). They do everything in top notch. Fully loaded mini bar in the room, free sunscreen in the pool, it is the best vibe you could ever imagine with the best amenities while remaining truly genuine in its theme. I will never stay anyway else in this town. And if you don't have the absolute pleasure of running into Haley and/or Ryan, you are also missing out. Those two made my experience here even more unbelievable. Those two, and all other employees here, make this stay even more unforgettable. Haley, Ryan, and the whole staff, and amazing hotel makes you feel like you got the deal of a lifetime. This is the best Kimpton I've stayed at. There have been some meh reviews lately because of construction at the hotel, so I was pleasantly surprised when we arrived and everything was perfect. The lobby is beautiful and modern, and we arrived around 5 so there was free alcohol in the lobby. The staff was extremely professional and friendly and I received 3 additional texts throughout my stay checking in and asking if I needed anything. The cafe in the lobby has great grab and go items and the restaurant has live music and great drinks. Things to note during Covid: -The pool is by reservation only and it is often fully booked over the weekends -your room will not be cleaned unless requested. I did request a cleaning via their text system and it was confirmed that it would be done, however it never was cleaned over my 3 night stay. Based off of how helpful the staff was in person, I'm sure I could have easily resolved this at the front desk if I had time. It wasn't a huge deal but definitely good to know that you had to request it. Overall, I was pleased with the experience and will be back! read more

I want to go high because I like the aesthetics of this hotel and its a cool overall spot; IE they give you beer when you check in. Unfortunately, this place is SUPER LOUD and I'm not a buzz kill or an old person.. Just someone who was here for business and while I went out, I enjoyed myself like a semi-responsible adult. Bars close at 2am, so anticipate an onslaught of loud, drunk people making a ruckus as they come in around 2.15 or 230. I was on the 5th floor by the pool. Cool right? Not if you want to go to bed at a reasonable time. The music is rocking until midnight or later I believe and my room was literally right on top of it. If you know thats the theme, and I love live music, thats fine... but engineer the hotel accordingly and toss some extra sound insulation junk in the floor. Someone then proceeded to start banging on the drums at 4am.. that sucks. Overall, its a nice, clean and modern hotel. the rooms are nice and have what you need, including a $200+ (if i remember right) bottle of buffalo trace bourbon you can buy. The food at geraldines restaurant in the hotel was very good with solid service. Good whiskey, beer, wine and alcohol selection.... Location is good for having a nice time. It's just loud as hell and thats the only reason I gave it 3 stars.. i'm a light sleeper. read more

Voted, by me, best greeting at a hotel front desk "Hi would you like a beer, glass of wine or a margarita?" I entered the hip looking lobby and walked up to the front desk and before I could say anything I was being greeted with an offer of a drink. Then every afternoon there is a "social" hour with complimentary beer, wine and margaritas (there's a theme there). It's amazing how a small gesture makes such a huge impression. I love this hotel for the vibe they create. The location is excellent for being a tourist in Austin, it right beside, just out the front doors, Rainey St, where all the homes are converted into hip bars and restaurant, mostly bars, and the nightlife rocks every day of the week. A fun activity, if you have time, is to borrow one of their bikes and go ride down the path that follows the river. Transpiration in Austin is not a problem, this is a scooter city and there were dozens of them right outside the hotel. read more

Spent 2 nights in Austin for business staying at this hotel. The hotel is new and definitely cool from the decor, to the location to the amenities. The lobby is stylish with a mix of bronze, wood, leather and a cool blue tone. Big windows, high ceilings and unique art really drive home the vibe. You'll see art featuring birds made from vinyl and large installations of horns hanging as chandeliers. I arrived during cocktail hour and just above the lobby was buzzing with people. There was a great energy, music and happy faces. (Also dogs everywhere, it's very dog friendly). At check in I was offered a beer or a water, so I will leave it to you to imagine my choice. Jumped in the elevator and I was treated to some great music on the ride up. The decor of the room did not disappoint and it carried the themes of the lobby into it. I was pleased with the bathroom design and layout which is often a miss for many hotels(good lighting and spacious sink area for toiletries). I also loved the fact that the showers feature full sized shampoo, conditioner and body wash by Atelier Bloem. No wasteful mini plastic bottles here. I didn't get to try out the pool, no time, but I looked in on it. It's on the 4th floor roof and is adjacent to the patio of the restaurant, Geraldine's. Music plays all day, comfortable lounge chairs are available and there is a fully stocked tended bar. Coffee at cafe 605 in the lobby was excellent and breakfast at Geraldine's was delicious. I got an omelette and fruit and there was also a waffle bar (looked yummy). The last thing I will say is the location is good in a dangerous way. By dangerous I mean that you are adjacent to Rainey Street. This allows you access to bars and restaurants in converted residential bungalows and many food trucks. You can't beat the beer and cocktails on Rainey and you certainly shouldn't miss the love music there either. It might be hard to go back to your lovely room given the fun outside your door. read more

Wonderful stay, I was a bit perturbed by the location of the hotel, but it's actually not too far from downtown and Rainey Street is steps away. From the get-go they were super accommodating: *yay for carrying humidifiers! *forgot my charger, they had one And made corrections to erroneous charges on my folio immediately. This was done all through email, I typically never check out on the way out and they were so responsive. Every extra, without the extra, okay they probably wrap it into the price, but it's nice to not have to SEE it: *no gym fees *free WIFI with KimptonKarma sign up *bicycles for guest use *social hour, FREE, what!?! I didn't do this, but it seemed popular and a big selling point LOVED: *FRETTE sheets/robe *natural toiletries *Mid Century décor and details everywhere *yoga mat *umbrella *pool deck, super comfy padded chairs and a gorgeous fireplace *Geraldine's is such a fun place, live music, great food/drinks Room service food - order the quinoa breakfast salad, soft boiled egg, kale, pepitas and blueberries! Who would have thunk it!?! SO good. Skip the green juices, they are from JuiceLand, but it's pre bottled. *sadface* Improvement: with Uber/Lyft bailing out of the area last week, the staff should have made more of an effort to contact cab services other than their partners to help out their stranded guests. I had to call Yellow Cab on multiple occasions or roll the dice and walking downstairs without the preplanning. Stayed here the night if 8/28/20. King Spa Luxury Suite $437 We were told we had to make a reservation for the pool which we did. We arrived to a room that reminded us of Motel 6. No luxury anything. The bed linens were old. 2 of the chairs in the room had cum stains on them. How no one saw this is beyond us. They did give us a 50 hotel credit. Which would have been fantastic if we actually had a stocked mini bar, it had nothing in it. Or if their little 605 cafe that is supposed to be 24/7 was open. Or even if we could have gotten a reservation at the restaurant on site to eat. But none of those things happened. Back to the pool, out entire reason for getting the room. So we made reservations. Looked down at the pool and it was PACKED not an empty chair, or lounge in site. No way to stay 6 feet away from anyone else. So I call, I'm told guests can bring up to 10 people to the pool. WTF?? Needless to say we didn't get pool time. The reason for our stay here. Then we're stuck in a trashy room with nothing to drink etc, because no one stocked the mini bar and the cafe that is supposed to be 24/7 is closed the entire time we were there. As soon as I walked in we should have demanded our money back and gone elsewhere. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. In fact I'm telling people to never go and don't waste your money. What was supposed to be a weekend getaway was a nightmare and I would have complained and thrown a fit, but we were exhausted and I shouldn't have to throw a fit to get what I paid for. Don't go. My girlfriend and I had a phenomenal stay at the Hotel Van Zandt for her birthday. It was under construction (I was not aware of this) but It didn't ruin our stay. We can put up with a bit of scaffolding. The moment we walked in to check-in we mentioned their secret code word and got $20 off our bill at the end. Great start! As with most Kimpton hotels there was a happy hour from 5pm-6pm. Not an awesome selection of drinks but good enough for us. They are taking Covid precautions with the house keeping and things are socially distanced. I felt safe and clean throughout the stay. We ate at Geraldines for brunch and It was okay, but I will do another review for that as that shouldn't effect the score of the hotel. They were very accommodating throughout our stay. Free bikes that we took full advantage of. Made reservations for the pool on our last day, great spot for some sun and drinks before u leave. Lastly we had a very late flight and they let us shower and check out at 4pm!! This was amazing. Really helped us take advantage of our time in Austin. Always welcoming when you returned to the hotel. Waters if you need them. Couldn't do enough for us. I would definitely come back and stay at this hotel again. Apparently they have construction going on that they failed to notify us prior to booking and at all their sites! We were greeted nicely, great staff all around, and got there just in time for happy hour, so they gave us a complimentary glass of wine. "Due to covid" you MUST make reservations to use the pool! We never used the pool because they were fully booked in all 3 days we were there! We were on the 16th floor, construction going on, the carpet was taped, I tripped a few times, please be careful! We had a nice room, below average furniture looks dated so is the carpet. The 2 night stands had USB ports and plug charger next to the bed side, which was nice. No coffee machine in the room, however they do give you complimentary coffee at the little coffee shop down stairs. Ps its not always open and I think it closes after breakfast! No free slippers, no robe, no shower caps, no Vanity kit. There was no shower bench for shaving, come on people! Full size shampoo, conditioner and body shower those always make me nervous (Sanatary reasons because they are re-fullable) so bring your own, I do always! Not enough lighting in the bathroom! Lastly, Valet is $50 a night! So we paid $150 for 3 nights for just parking!!! The resturant on the 4th flood Geraldine was ok, limited menu, host is rude but the waiter was super nice, the drinks were good and the Endive Salad was yummy! Good experience all together, probably expected more, but won't be staying there again sorry Austin I still don't like you! read more

My gosh what a truly beautiful property! I have not had the pleasure of staying here but yesterday they hosted the Austin 2019 Lamb Jam. I won a pair of tickets via YELP, so my grandson and I attended. The hotel had opened up their entire second floor (mezzanine?) and had their Team members in place to assist this "Jam" packed event. Everyone we interacted with was smiling and didn't show any of the exasperation one would feel as locusts descended upon a field. It was a sold out event.... The second floor had at least 3 room divisions-one at the top of the stairs, one horizontally directly across -and then one large event space perpendicular and equally if not more deep. For those not in the know-this is one of a handful of events held around the country in tribute to Lamb-one if the most delicious proteins around! So I'm going to do a more thorough review of the Lamb Jam once I determine if I should open up a new location in Yelp but I wanted to give kudos to Kimpton and the Hotel Van Zandt itself for doing such a great job of hosting!!! We stayed here back in October. We have stayed at many Kimptons over the years, and this is one of our favorites. They did a great job capturing the Austin vibe. The lobby is tailored to the city and very special. They even greet you with a local beer upon checkin. The rooms are a bit small, but very clean and have great character. We also loved that we had a view of Rainey Street. It was nice to see people out and about after months of lockdowns. The location was great. We walked to Rainey for dinner and drinks. We also walked closer to downtown and even rode the birds through the city. read more

We just came back from out trip to Austin and stayed at this fabulous hotel while we were there. What an experience! Everyone of he staff members we encountered was so friendly and it was a true joy be there. Our room was booked through American Express and was upgraded by the hotel manager, Nik, to a full suite which was awesome. We felt like the King and Queen of Rainey street. Grant and Stephen were on point at the valet. My man Clarence has got to be one of the coolest door men alive. Will and Allen at the front desk were always super helpful. I hope you guys liked those empanadas! The housekeeping staff were mostly invisible, but they were really kind as well. The room was always in perfect shape. The restaurant was excellent, and so was the bar. I hate that we forgot the bartender's names, but they had great tips for the Lake Travis scene. The poolside was also perfect. We snagged a cabana and enjoyed beautiful views of the river. All in all, it was a great trip, and a big part of that was a result of the Kimpton hotel and staff. A nice looking hotel near the walking path and other great restaurants and bars nearby. The happy hour in the lobby in the evenings with live music is fun. We rented bikes and rode the whole path. Very trendy and the name is not related to Steven Van Zandt in any way. The restaurant breakfast was understaffed, which felt strange based on the room rates. The restaurant dinner server got the order wrong so we ended up waiting for a while, but at least there was live music to keep us entertained. The food was very good and the room was quiet. Make sure to ask for a room not facing the the construction of the new hotel, which will eventually block the great views. Lots of construction blocking city streets nearby. In my opinion, the only place to stay in Austin, TX. Geraldine's, their house restaurant, has great music - practically breakfast thru dinner - and poolside service. They rock a free daily Happy Hour between 4 and 5 with vinyl spinning old school. Location: right where the action is; Rainey Street and mere blocks from Dirty 6. Saw Ruby Jane and the Reckless at this hotel. (Her fiddle broke my heart, no kidding) Wonderful place to stay. You can experience so much of Austin without even walking out the door. read more

As an avid traveler, I tend to stay at many different hotels. Kimpton hotels are typically some of my favorites. Their boutique style is something you just feel more at home with. When you stay at a hotel, you expect quality customer service and the feeling that you are at a home away from home. Came here with a wedding party and when we checked in, it was quick and painless. The door man (Clarance, I believe) was super friendly! I received texts upon arrival on if there were other things I needed. Almost felt like this weekend was going so well! The rooms were not what I was expecting. Small and cramped. Since I was with the wedding party, we had a rushed morning getting ready and a huge day ahead of us. I called down for champagne glasses and it took 45 minutes to get them in the morning. Also, the valet took forever with our cars when we had to leave to the venue. Even when we texted for the heads up. They definitely need a better system or more people. Leading up to the end of the night, I was with a friend who tried to check in. They wouldn't allow her and said, 'We are booked solid and we have rooms at the four season nearby'. Additionally, another male asked to see our valet ticket (thinking maybe he's trying to see what room we were in). He left and came back saying 'I've called to have your car come around'. Basically, a nice way of trying to kick us out? What a way to end our beautiful wedding night! I was disgusted with their service. They would mumble under their breath and laugh. I said, 'We are with the wedding party. We are staying here.' They apologized and tried to reason for calling our car. Their manager should be embarrassed by their customer service and how they handled this situation. Absolutely will never come back to this hotel nor recommend it to anyone. read more

Hotel Guest Beware!!! My family and I traveled to Austin last week and had reservations at the Kimpton Hotel Van Zandt for 4 nights. I made the reservation close to 1 month prior (my Visa was charged at the time of making the reservation for 1 night to hold the 4 night reservation - this is standard policy for most hotels) We arrived via our rent-a-car at approx 10pm on 2/19/22. We unloaded our luggage and kids were excited to get into the room and settle in for the night. To check-in, I approached one of 3 front desks and was abruptly dismissed and sent to wait at another desk (with no attendant present) from the first hotel employee that I encountered. When a hotel employee finally emerged I was told AND I QUOTE... "MY APOLOGIES BUT WE DO NOT HAVE A ROOM FOR YOU... SO WE BOOKED YOU AT ANOTHER HOTEL" My response was disbelief and I asked to see the Manager. I was then told "WE OPERATE ON A FIRST COME FISRT SERVE BASIS" - Again, WHAT!?! My response was - I have NEVER heard of such a thing with any hotels much less major hotel chains such as Kimpton. After several minutes of "bizzaro" explanations I was handed a sheet of paper with the name of the hotel Kimpton took the liberty (;).) to re-book us that evening - it was The Omni Barton Creek - no less than 10 miles away / 22 minutes by car. My daughter was crying, my husband so angry and in disbelief, and I was beyond dumbfounded. I called the GM of the hotel the very next morning from the Omni Barton Creek to verify that I was reimbursed and to confirmed that the "FIRST COME FIRST SERVE" scenario was their policy - Yes, similar to the airline business he said. I then told him I majored in Hotel Restaurant Management - and had worked at the Ritz Carlton, Hyatt Resorts, and Boca Raton Resort & Club to name a few... and in my career and lifetime, I had NEVER heard of such a hotel policy. I then gave him the opportunity to make our wronged, stressful experience fair. He offered to pay our valet at the new and much more accommodating Omni Barton Creek. OMG! read more

Great hotel with attentive staff and walking proximity to tons of food trucks and restaurants. Of note, valet was required when we visited ($50 for our one night stay). You have to call the front desk 5 minutes before you plan to leave so the valet pulls your car in front for you. Early check-in is possible if you arrive earlier in the day. Just stop by the front desk and ask to be put on the waiting list to check-in your room early. Although our check-in time is technically 4 pm, our room was ready by 11:30 am. I appreciate certain eco-friendly amenities such as dimming lights and large refillable conditioner/shampoo bottles. There was also onsite restaurants with live music (Geraldines) and a small 24 hr gym. Lastly, the front desk have a great texting service and they text you throughout your stay to make sure you're having a great time. Overall was very positive experience and I would stay again! read more

I discovered Hotel Van Zandt when planning an out of town sales conference for my company, after doing a site visit to Austin and visiting other hotel venues we stumbled across Van Zandt, we were immediately intrigued to book our event here, unfortunately they did not have the meeting space and room capacity to book our full event, but when booking our event at another hotel venue in Austin we ran out of room space and I immediately volunteered my team to stay at Van Zandt and we were all happy we had the chance. Hotel Van Zandt has such great service and hospitality, not to mention a beautiful property location in the Rainey Street area. With it's unique decor and music history, this is a must be place in Austin to check out! Plus who else gives you a local beer upon check in. read more

Water pressure was low and no hot water in the shower. Called the front desk and they said someone would come right up. 30 minutes pass and nothing so call them again and they say they'll resubmit ticket - 10 min later someone shows up and they say they'll need more tools. An hour later the water pressure is fixed but there's still no hot water. The maint guy says the hot water problem won't be fixed today and they offer to change rooms but at this point we just want to get on with our day. Will be asking for partial refund to room - for a $250 room with additional 70 for valet and also additional 35 for "resort fee" this is ridiculous. Should've stayed somewhere else. The walls are super thin also so you hear drunk people all night. read more

If I could only rate this place 10 stars I would! Hotel Van Zandt has forever changed my experience of hotel stays. From be greeted outside by the valet to the concierge at the front desk, who offer you Austin brewed beer.. this hotel has been exceptional in every way. I love that they send you a text just to check in on you and make sure you have everything you need. The texts are not overbearing at all and they keep it to a text a day. I came up here for my birthday weekend and when we checked in Justin at the front desk asked if we were here for anything special. My friend told him we were here for my birthday and that was it. Thinking it was just pleasantries being exchanged, we thought nothing of it. The hotel is right on Rainey St. so you can walk around to all the bars and restaurants. After a night out, the next day we left to go get ramen and when we returned, the Concierge staff surprised me with a beautifully decorated board with cupcake and fruit wishing me a Happy Birthday! It was such a nice surprise and it definitely made my day. Another great thing about the hotel is they do a complimentary Happy Hour where guests can come down and mingle and sip on some drinks and try some small bites prepared by the restaurant inside the hotel called Geraldine's. They also have bikes that you can rent for free in case you wanted to bike around and explore Austin! First night here with the wedding party was easy and breezy (in love), all the details were there. Even Clarence Young left an impression with his hospitality! Come second night when we returned from the wedding reception...our reservation was apparently given up. I tried to check in for my friend because the wedding did a number on him. The customer service provided to me was subpar, really upset me. One of the gentlemen's name was Alaan and the other gentlemen was very tall with curly blonde hair. He justified why the reservation was given up, because the hotel was booked solid. I'm more upset with the delivery on how they told me, we just wanted to have a night to remember and they happen to put a massive detour in it. Also letting me know the 4 Seasons had a room available almost felt like he was kicking me out, what solidified that thought was when a gentleman came to get my valet ticket to retrieve my car when I had just arrived minutes before. This is the best hotel in Austin (humble opinion) The theme of music is done well. Horn lights, gentle reminders we are in a music city. We went to Geraldine's which I have been before. However today was a nice change it was quiet and we had the ability to explore the menu. My favorite is the photo below. Willies Cup- Hemp Seed Milk, Double Rye, sage all yum. Highly recommend this place if traveling to Austin. High end treatment with a modest price. GREAT service through out. Rooms were very nice. This is a very nice hotel, right off Rainey st. They offer free bikes, free happy hour in the lobby, music in Geraldine's. A "rooftop" pool on the 4th floor. Super nice concierge. Hip lil cafe off the lobby. A fully stocked mini fridge. A complimentary beer (or water, if that's your thing) upon arrival. Now, here is why they are just A-OK in my book. The walls are paper thin. During my stay here, there were a couple wedding parties staying in the hotel. Not only did we hear em hooting and hollering at all hours, like a bunch of hooligans, but we also heard somebody, somewhere, barfing in the middle of the night. But it's not the hotel's fault someone drank too much. It is the hotel's fault that we called down for some silverware, waited 30 minutes, and decided to go get it ourself. Only to come back to a guy knocking on the door, silverware in hand, with a bill in the other hand. Are you really gonna charge for silverware delivery? I also hate it whenever there is not a coffee maker in the room, but they did offer free coffee in the lobby during morning hours. This, in conjunction, with the free happy hour down there, they're really embracing getting out there and being social. In conclusion, this hotel has a ton of great offerings that I feel like, if I was 10 years younger, I'd appreciate more. If you enjoy being amongst the young, hip, and rich, you'll love this place. Hotel Van Zandt - Hotels Near Me - Austin, Texas

Beware of valet here!!!! I valeted my car during an anniversary trip, found out the next morning they had crashed my car. Was told Van Zandt would take full liability and this was be handled "immediately". They didn't. It's July and my claim was just now closed. Van Zandt fought my insurance company and I ended up paying out of pocket for an incident I didn't cause and wasn't my fault. Not to mention I was in a rental for a month. I emailed Van Zandt about this incident and heard nothing from them. Will never stay here again. 1 star for having a beautiful interior and because no stars is apparently not an option. read more

Bait and switch! I drove from out of town and packed all my spa items, excited for this king spa package, only to find out that their direct website has a known reservation issue. I called to confirm my spa room at 1pm, checked in early at 3pm and then was told they oversold their rooms with soaking tubs after valet already took my car. I would not have selected this hotel if I would have known I would receive a room without a soaking tub. I paid top dollar and even offered to pay more to get what I reserved but was only offered a discount. Since I already paid for a babysitter and booked reservations for later that evening I did not have a choice to select a different place to stay. I was told I would get "the best replacement" and ended up with a tiny room with a view of construction and a walk in shower. I booked direct with the hotel's website and was still charged for the spa king suite which is unetical. The final blow was having to experience stress and anxiety again at check out because I had to advocate for the "credit" they were supposed to apply. This experience ruined the only trip I have planned away from my kids in 5 years. I did this as a gift for myself after my father passed away recently and just needed time away. The staff was not empathetic or helpful. Do not waste your time or money! read more
