W O W ! Houlihan's is where its at. We had a great date night last night. My date had never been and let me tell you we have the BEST time! We ordered some appetizers such as spinach dip with chips, chicken nachos, and a side Caesar salad. The chicken nachos were HUGE and great! Chicken nachos can easily feed up to 4 guests. My side Caesar was larger than I expected. The croutons were freshly made and the Caesar dressing is for sure in my top 3 favorites. My date ordered the sirloin with broccoli and mashed potatoes. While I ordered their 8oz. filet with green beans and loaded mash potatoes. After we ordered we were told they ran out of my 8oz. filets. However, they were awesome and accommodated with two 4 oz. filets instead. Both the sirloin and filets were perfectly grilled, juicy, seasoned well, and tender. It's hard to find a restaurant to grill perfect temps along with tenderness. Both of our veggies and mashed potatoes were great. Portions for all the food are spot on. We ordered desserts to take home. A vanilla bean cheesecake and the brownie batter cake. Both were exceptional desserts. The food was amazing and the service was even better! First off, for a Saturday night, they were not busy, however the server took almost 30 minutes to get to us. We ordered appetizers, Spinach dip and 'shrooms. The spinach dip has no flavor. The 'shrooms were good. My husband sent back the dip and ordered a salad instead. Almost an hour later we were still waiting on refills, as well as his salad. Two tables near us sent back their food due to it being cold. We ended up leaving before our food came. It was almost two hours of waiting and our server came by twice. Checked on multiple times which we're luckily if it's once at other spots. Waitress answered all our questions, made suggestions, was paitent with our little girl, and looked out for my husband who hates spicy food. Loved the mushrooms, pleasantly surprised by how big they were. I really enjoyed the kansas city burger that was recommended. Now for my favorite part! Our waitress wrote down and asked if she could bring the included ice cream for my daughters children meal. Updated review: We took Alex's parents here when they were in town for their second visit to Savannah. They both got the fish and chips at Alex's suggestion. He had it during our last visit here and loved them. Alex's mother is a very good chef and she loved it! My grilled salmon was on point as usual. They were also impressed by Thomas/TJ's service. They are native Spanish speakers and he was even using Spanish with them! They said he was symaptico. He also remembered Alex and me. Well this is my first Yelp review! We pulled into the Houlihan's parking lot today around 12:00 p.m. and was impressed by their outside Landscaping, cleanliness of the parking lot, and their patio. When we walked in the front door we were greeted with a quick smile and a please follow me to a booth in the corner (for our family). We really enjoyed the lunch menu options from several delicious appetizers like the Thai chili wings, the stuff mushrooms, the tuna wontons, and the amazing chicken nachos. We all ordered burgers, fish tacos, and a turkey club sandwich. The food was very fresh and tasty. Our server was very knowledgeable, knew the menu inside and out, and was very pleasurable to speak with. We could tell from visiting many other restaurants along I-95 that this employee had been with this company for several years (she cared). We both visited the restrooms and we're very impressed how clean they were...dust free, toilet paper and towels stocked. Both restrooms as reported were ordered free and smelled appropriately. The inside of the restaurant had a unique look with several large lights, brick, boost on the outside in high top tables in the inside, artwork, plus a granite looking bar? We thought that for five people are bill was very reasonable compared to other polished casual restaurants. When we left we were thanked for coming by an employee, and my family felt very much at home. We highly recommend this restaurant when traveling for lunch on I-95 in Savannah Georgia! Houlihan's is a chain that caters to nearby hotel dwellers and does it rather well. I will say this about this Houlihan's location, both the service and food are spectacular. Meatloaf was easily the best I've ever had. Our server, Eddie, was awesome. Very fast, friendly and attentive. So Cal tacos were also great. They do simple, homestyle food, amazingly well and that gets a lot of respect in my book. Prices are indeed higher than what you'd find at other chain restaurants, but well worth it. Their quality of ingredients and taste was second to none. Sometimes yelpers tend to underrate places just because they are a chain and although chain restaurants don't always live up to expectations, Houlihan's far exceeded them.
