Our tour guide Gregory was so friendly and gave us a memorable experience. Going through each wine and sharing us wonderful stories. We had some snacks to much on to accompany our wines. He was so kind to take photos for us afterwards and shared some special wines with us at the end. We were very impressed with their location that comprised a two story (maybe three) building that you had to access via steep flight of stairs to a lovely deck that you inside to the gorgeous tasting room. The spectacular view overlooking the vast number of vineyards across the Silverado Trail only enhanced the experience of being there, taking in the gorgeous weather that comprised blue skies and warm vibes. Inside there were some lovely booth lounge and table seating. I appreciated the groovy guitars encased and hung against one of the walls. To access the main cave where we would have our tasting, we walked through the back area where we passed by the windowed area that the massive fermentation tanks were located. Entering the cave was magical with purple dimmed lighting and candles lit on the large wooden table and on the other boudoir. Our guide did a tremendous job explaining the wines and the stories behind them. We enjoyed a pour straight from the barrel while walking through the various caves housing the barrels aging the wine. The experience was wonderful and wools go back in a heartbeat after having pours of the Oracle, Oakville Cab, and Stagecoach Merlot amongst the treasures that we enjoyed such as the 2013 Stagecoach Cab. Miner is one of true standouts, especially if you want to enjoy your tasting in a wine cave where they store all the barrels.

During the tasting, while we were able to try the amazing Mythicvs, we could not buy it as it basically sells out every year. Fine I get it. I bought 3 bottles of Prince Of Hearts instead. Julian said we would have an opportunity for an allocation in 2024 as we had visited the estate and bought some wine. Fast forward to February 2024. I inquired about the release and got this reply: "Thank you so much for reaching out. You will not see the it amongst the other flagship wines allocated in this release as Mythicvs will actually be offered as a separate release in March. Due to the limited quantity, and the high demand for this wine, we are unable to allocate Mythicvs to all members. I have noted your request, and we will do our best to extend you an allocation in March if at all possible. Regards, Amber DeWeese" Still hopeful, I patiently waited. In May i inquired again and got the following reply from the same person: "Unfortunately, we were not able to offer you an allocation of Mythicvs. The limited supply of Mythicvs was sold to members who have purchasing seniority." My problem is why get customer's hopes up? Just say during the initial tasting that it's unlikely we'll get to buy it anytime soon. Bottom line is this is a beautiful place, definitely worth the tasting fee. But the staff is a little bit disingenuous. I suppose when you have a consecutive 100 point wine you can do this but it did leave a rather sour taste in my mouth. They should be more transparent as to how Mythicvs is allocated. Do you need to have spent a certain dollar amount over the years or within a one year period? Do you need to have been a member for a certain number of years? I don't know. What I do know is they should do what they say they will do. A bit of sour grapes? Maybe. It just sucks to have actually visited their estate, and patiently waiting over a year to be able to buy the wine and being told basically "sorry you're not good enough". My suggestion to them is to be upfront at the tastings and tell people what they need to do in order to be able to purchase a bottle of Mythicvs.

We were seated at the edge near the back facility room where all of the sunshine of the morning was blazing from the upper windows right into my face. We had to move the table back and forth left to right and back again to get out of direct blaring sunlight. We mentioned it but were not offered the option to move. The entire tasting was quite rushed with the staff member coming over with the next bottle standing waiting while we finished the second half of each glass hurriedly. Whole tasting was rushed into 30 minutes while the two other tables, there before us, were still able to take their time and enjoy. That said the wines were absolutely amazing and we would have gladly purchased the Sauvignon Blanc had it not been so unpleasant of an experience. A true disappointment at a high end winery.
