It was quite slow and we were on a timeline, but also we were late and that was on us. They apologized for it being slow (our ticket got overlooked by the kitchen) and boxed up our food for us so we could eat from the boxes and be ready to bail without having to box leftovers. The menu is unique and interesting. The restaurant is beautiful. We left hungry and disappointed. On arrival, we stood at the host desk for 5 minutes. No one greeted us. No one asked if we'd made a reservation. I eventually asked a server at the bar if we should seat ourselves because we'd been standing there for so long. No, someone will help you soon. A host walked up. He was eating something. When he got to the host stand, he finished his food, took a big drink and wiped his hands before making eye contact with us. He said the wait would be 15 minutes. We sat down in the lobby. We were seated at a community table. The couple to our right finished their meal, paid the bill and left. Their seats were bussed. This all happened before our server greeted us. We ordered coffee. We waited. And waited. I scanned the restaurant for our server - or any server- to ask about our drinks and place our food order. No one else approached the table. Still no coffee. It had been 30 minutes. We decided to leave. The host realized we were leaving. He offered to find our server, pay for our meal, seat us somewhere else. He practically chased us out of the restaurant. We ordered. Then waited 40 minutes. I was pretty sure I could see our food sitting under the heat lamps for 15 minutes. Every wait staff just walked right by it. He ordered the Hong Kong Toast which came with; local sourdough french toast stuffed with blackberry-rhubarb jam, earl grey & orange bitter syrup, topped with honey whip. My experience at this restaurant is normally 5 star and it still is but this burger was not. This burger is lacking with seasoning it tasted like I was just eating meat with no flavor. Other things I have tried here have been excellent but I wanted to try this burger cause it's been sold out on other occasions when I've been here so of course I wanted to see what all the hype was about and it was not good at all. Regardless the amazing host was able to get us on the waiting list and were seated within 45 minutes. Boyfriend and I came here for brunch and were not greeted for 5 minutes while awkwardly standing at the front. Several servers walked past us without saying a word, not even a smile in our direction. We were finally seated and 40 minutes after ordering they brought us a complementary snack board, which was so sweet! But everything on the board was cold or stale. The cheese on the board had very obviously been sitting out and was lukewarm, the bacon was soggy with solidified grease (from being cold) on the bottom.
