We came here when they were still opening and figuring a few things out. The food itself, while it took a while, was delicious. Their hummus is also very good and I like that they use the thinner pita breads. The shawarma wrap was very balanced and flavorful. The kebab platter was very good and their toum garlic sauce is on point. This place is worth a visit despite some minor service hiccups.

We tried House of Cedar for dinner. This place is a new, authentic, halal Lebanese restaurant that is family owned and operated. It just opened in Lake Forest next to Aldi. The mom is the cook and her husband and kids take care of the rest, which gives the place a warm and welcoming feel. We ordered the trio mix plate and everything was fresh, flavorful, and cooked perfectly. The family was super friendly, and the restaurant was clean and comfortable with plenty of screens and a solid sound system playing Middle Eastern music. Definitely a great new spot and we will be back.

    Chicken schwarma!!! 10/10 authentically

Edit: Doubling down! Best schwarma in OC, period. Thanks for the fries! :D A+ service, better Lebanese food than the other places!! Trusttttt me. Already the new owner has exceeded my expectations. Offered to let me try the toum, garlic sauce; which was phenomenal. I am very discerning when it comes to Schwarma and Lebanese food. After being let down by a few place I drove by here in the rain and am happy to give it a shot. Having had some amazing schwarma in my life, I can already tell you this is the spot! Great garlic sauce always = good food. The operator was supremely friendly, but a humble chicken shawarma sandwich and good garlic sauce makes for good eats. I hope you all get to give it a shot, definitely worth going out of your way for. So far out of the 3 Lebanese spots around here, the absolute winner by a mile!

Today I came to House of Cedar for the first time! The food was amazing, hot fresh and delicious. I have many Lebanese friends and this was like eating in someone's home. The family was warm and inviting. I have the Shawarma and beef combo plate with rice and salad. The toum, hummus and labneh were awesome. My friend had the kibbeh and kabob plate, he said it was perfect. The service was great as well. You can tell they use fresh ingredients I felt incredible after eating a lot. I can't wait to come back to try more of their delicious food.

Im really happy that we finally have a Lebanese restaurant in Orange County. I ordered the shawarma and it was really good. The owner is really nice and friendly. They just opened to give them some grace. Food is fantastic. Get the rice pudding for dessert it's delicious!

Just what we needed in Lake Forest delicious, authentic Lebanese food! I love supporting small family-run businesses, especially when you can feel the heart and pride they put into their cuisine. The service was excellent and the food was amazing. I didn't get a picture of the rice pudding dessert, but it's a must-try. Wishing them all the success they deserve. I'll definitely be back!

I was hoping the leftover falafel would taste better the next day, but sadly, it didn't. Chicken and beef kabob were decent. Kinda bummed how they didn't have some sort of combo bowl. You'd have to buy extra meat if you wanted to try different meats together. The extras and sides were quite pricey, too. We also tried a variety of flatbreads. The spinach and cheese was our favorite. We liked the zataar one, and the meat with jalapenos was just ok. The thick creamy garlic sauce went well with the thin, crispy flatbreads, while the runny white sauce tasted bland and slightly bitter (unpleasant with everything, to be honest). Overall, the food is fine, but I wouldn't go again. A few tables were available inside the small, simple-looking shop, but it felt a bit awkward eating there. Staff were not very attentive, but once we got their attention, they were helpful.

The tabbouleh is awesome - this is pretty much identical to mine so of course I would love it. The first time I came, I got the spicy falafel; The second time I got the regular. Just based on those two visits, I would recommend the regular. The spicy wasn't actually really spicy, and the patties were almost burnt. It tells you how good everything was that I still came back though. Second visit I got the regular patties and I really really enjoyed the bowl. Every ingredient is fresh and delicious, tahini is great, and there's a shaker of zataar for seasoning on the counter. Great prices, great owner, great food. Big thumbs up. Gotta try one of the fresh made flatbreads or wraps next time.

Needless to say I sat there waiting for my two to-go orders for what felt like an eternity. A lot of people flowed in after me and they were all just waiting, it was weird since it was empty when I walked in and then seeing 6 tables of people with no food. I thought I ordered the cheaper lunch special of chicken koobideh and beef koobideh, but he punched in the full portion instead. I didn't really mind as it just became extra food for dinner. But I feel like if someone is going in at the beginning of lunch time, they would be looking to order lunch menu stuff? I guess I can't expect people to do what I my logic would do. The two koobidehs is pretty much the same thing I order at any of these places because I prefer ground meat that's tender and juicy and this place did not disappoint. They were cooked to perfections with just a little crisp on the meats. Not much else to say since I only had a basic meal....meals

We ordered the combo beef and chicken plate, the beef gyro plate, and two falafel on the side. The falafel didn't look impressive, but they were surprisingly excellent--moist, flavorful, and honestly better than Sababa's. I'll definitely order six next time. The gyro plate was solid, not overly greasy or heavy, and the seasoning was just right. I wasn't a fan of the hummus, which had a bitter aftertaste, but my partner liked the tanginess, so that may come down to personal preference. On the combo plate, the chicken stood out: juicy and tender. The beef seemed to be a leaner cut and was a bit dry. I'd probably skip this particular beef kebab next time and try a different one. The saffron rice and grilled tomato were a nice complement. The plate also came with jumbo naan, served warm and smelling amazing, definitely a highlight.

Something that I cannot make, something that I've tried, yet the establishment still finds a way to give me a different and enjoyable experience. Boneless Chicken and Beef Koobideh Combo: One of the most dangerous things to order, as both things can either come out as dry, or start off as great, then dry up before you can finish. None of those scenarios happened here. The chicken was soft, juicy, seasoned very well, and it stayed that way. The beef koobideh had this smoky flavor profile, which is different from what I normally expect, and I liked it. Potato Boloni: I've never had boloni in my life, and the closest comparison I have is a Chinese or Korean pancake. The boloni had areas of spiciness, and I think it had room to go higher. It's definitely an appetizer, and I won't mind having it again. Service: There were only 2-3 occupied tables when we went. I think the staff had plenty of time to take our orders, give us water, and the food arrived within a reasonable time. Ambiance: You could tell that the restaurant was designed to host wedding receptions or larger parties in mind. Stage, lights, and a bunch of stuff that may be overwhelming for some. I didn't mind. Good food is all that matters.

I ordered the lemon garlic chicken bowl with basmati rice and the 2 sides I chose were lemon garlic potatoes 2x. The total came out to $15 and some change. It took approx 10 min for my food to come out, which wasn't long at all. The smell of the garlic was very strong, and I'm pretty sure my car will smell like garlic for the rest of the week. I ordered this particular item because all of the reviews for it were very positive. The chicken was tender and it was flavorful, but it didn't knock my socks off. It only came with 5 pieces. The lemon garlic potatoes were also just average. And the basmati rice seemed more wet than it typically should be. For the amount of food, I didn't think it warranted $15. In my opinion, there are better Greek eateries in the area.
