I call it a scam! I'm sorry but I see scam. You have to pay $20 cover charge to get in then once inside you have to pay for the hookah. Paying for the hookah is not problem but then the establishment is BYOB and you have to pay $7 for bringing your own liquor per person. Wtf! No damn way! The vibe is chill yes I went to she could experience it. They do allow you to smoke weed in there, which is cool for the ppl who smoke it. We asked for the owner & the manager stated "he not here, I'm the only manager here" and then we spoke to the owner later in the night. The space is extremely small and cramped, and overall it just feels like they're trying to squeeze every dollar out of you. First the bouncer had me CashApp a cover to his personal CashApp account. I don't mind doing that but the business name should be on it not some random person: I asked who was Francois and he said it is the owner and I asked if he was there and he said no. Come to find out because I asked the staff and they said Francois was the security/bouncer at the door. The time on google does not match. I was so shocked at the prices - I was visiting from out of town and yelped a hookah lounge and found this place. Little did I know there's an entry fee of $10 dollars. I had read that it's also BYOB but what I didn't read was that there's a $7 dollar fee to BYOB. I had brought a modelo with me worth $3 .... So the fee to drink that modelo was more than the drink itself. My bill for one hookah including the byob fee was about $50 (not including the entry fee). For me, a person who came solo it was not worth it. The hookah was good don't get me wrong but this is more of a spot for groups given the prices. This was my first time at House of Hookah. I had always heard about it but never visited it. Pulling up there was plenty of street parking so that was a plus. Service was great, we were greeted and it was open seating. There were a variety of flavors for the hookah to choose from which was good. It's also byob. I was unaware of this but next time I will most definitely have a bottle of wine with me. The ambience is amazing. Very colorful and vibrant! And hunny.....let me tell you about The music. Do not go!!! The door staff are absolutely ridiculous!!! Racist first of all. If you're not black ... you are not getting in!!!!! We asked to just use the bathroom and they sell hookah and coal so we asked to just go in to buy a new one to take home instead since we wanted hookah and she refused to let just one of us in and then walked 12 black girls in that also had no reservations. Apparently one was a friend of hers. Then she started yelling at us for standing on the sidewalk while we waited for our Uber! Mind you we were 3 people!!! Of color at that.... Just Indian. Pricing: Horrible. This placed is extremely overpriced. Charged 10 at the door and then also had to pay for hookah (of course), but the catch is that they do not explain at the door that after an hour they will ask you to leave so they can let others sit down considering the place is uncomfortably small. Their process involves them coming over and whispering to you, you have 5 min and then we'll need to use you section for someone else. So about 30-40 dollars just to sit for about an hour. A WASTE. Thank God I did not purchase anything else. I wouldn't give them another dime. Ambiance: Music was extremely muffled. You could barely hear it. Sounded like someone was playing it off of their phone. Hookah quality: hookah was horrible. It did not pull and staff never came back to check if things were going well but we're sitting down with their regular customers smoking. We ( 2 of us ) Came here visiting from out of town. There was a $20 entry fee ( which is fine ) . BUT they told us the bar was open seating . There is NO BAR. So they had us waiting by the hookah set up until our table was ready. They don't serve liquor and told us it is byob ( once we got there ). Literally once they sat us that SAME hookah girl who took our order and told us it's byob told us we had 5min left before we had to give our table up. I let her know we just sat down she said " you have been her for 60min " girrrl no we were not . We were waiting for a table for about 45min. She got an attitude then said you guys are fine . We ordered a bottle to the hookah spot. she came and charged us $7pp for the byob after telling us they don't sell any . They sat someone at our table & he asked for liquor then she brought him some LOL.. they tried to give us instant coals when they had regular square cocanara coals . We asked for the regular coals and SHE GOT AN ATTITUDE AGAIN! We asked for 2 cups she gave us cups filled with ice to the rim. We said empty cups without ice . Guess what she did ? ATTITUDE AGAIN. Decent spot as I showed up to meet a friend one day mid last week. I have walked by for years and never gone inside a I never knew (to my knowledge) any friends that have been here until now. Not the biggest place, but not tiny either with good ventilation. My friend preferred chocolate chip mint in which I have never tried in all of my 13 years of doing shisha. It was pretty good, but the problem we kept running into was it kept getting harsh. We called the guy over to fix twice and after about 2-3 pulls we were back at harshness. You would have thought they would have just replaced the whole unit. Didn't really matter as my friend was tired so we just put in 1.5 hours of time here. Once we paid and were inside, ordering, prices and charges seemed to be inconsistent per whomever may be relaying the prices. "Extra person fee", "Cup & Ice fee", as well as fees to indulge in items that were being sold off the menu. First and foremost Z IS THE MAN. I've been in hookah lounges all my life but what changes things is the honesty, hospitality, and intrinsic motivation to see their customers happy. I took 4 different people to House of Hookah 3 different occasions in one week. What does that say? I did not meet Z until my last visit but I have to give a shout out to Saba & Ramon in playing their part in ensuring that I had a great time and felt comfortable while I was there. Those guys are awesome. My last visit I came to buy my second hookah. I was shocked at how honest Z was about the products they sell because he did not want me to waste my time and money. The guy is a true businessman and truly inspired me and gave me hope that people can still be honest to their customers during these times. Nice place in the Lakeview area for hookah. It was walking distance and one the few hookah lounges in the area. It is a small place however. Very cramped especially on weekend nights and you'll usually end up sharing a space with other parties. I think if you have more than two or three people you'll have to pay extra or basically the price of a whole new hookah, but the prices are not that bad. It is BYOB (they don't serve drinks) and there's a bunch of markets/pharmacies nearby. Many, many interesting flavors and combinations to choose from. Hookah lasts a while and they're on top of their game while changing coals. The service is great. I get along with the managers well. My friend actually bought their hookah from here. They have a good and pretty different selection to choose from and they'll throw in the foil, hose, coals, and tips. My friends usually come back to this place to get more supplies as well. The staff and managers are nice enough to give us a good deal. I used Groupon so I always get a certain amount cash back when I'm here. read more

We always pass this place and wanted to try. So, finally we went there. Hookah was good and lasts of 1 and half hour. Their tea is not so great. The only reason I took off the 2 stars because of sitting area. We had to sit on a table where you have sofa and2 chairs. Sofa was way low and chairs were too high, but felt like u r too high for the person sitting on Safari so you had to stretch yourself to give them hookah pipe. Environment is nice.
