The difference between 2024 and 2025 events is staggering. The decor took a hit vs last year. Along with that the drinks all had to be purchased instead of getting some small drinks with price. The whole experience was a let down. If this is the production value going forward we wont be back next year. The worst part was we lost power half way through the night and they tried to just keep going. Instead of refunding us or offering a different night they tried to keep things going but many of the interactive events did not work well. Overall super disappointing this year. read more

We attended on Halloween night 2024, to the later show. Your tickets suggest arriving at LEAST 20 minutes early and up to 45 minutes early. They advertised a lounge and snacks to purchase. We arrived promptly 45 minutes in advance and found, unfortunately, that the lounge was under an outdoor tent. It was cold and very rainy and this set-up was not ideal in costume! But, we chatted up others who made the same silly choice we did and made new friends so that was cool. There were three floors of entertainment with two of the 4 drinks located on each floor. There isn't a rhyme/reason/order to do them in. So, assuming a similar set up in the future I'd suggest going upstairs first and then experience downstairs later once the crowd migrates up stairs. We hopped into the seance line pretty early, which was good because the line got longer as the night went on. That said, we never had to wait more than minute or two for a drink or any other experience. We heard there was a secret room but never found it. We interviewed all of the characters but then when we got to the downstairs portion they were kind of just hurrying people through and telling you who to talk to to get a QR code for the main portion of the story. Overall, we enjoyed the various performances, which repeated several times throughout the evening, and the cocktails. We felt like we'd seen everything by about the 90 minute mark. It was fun to dress up and be surrounded by lots of other dressed up folks for a fun night out. We'd probably do again next year but not arrive QUITE so early. read more

Pros: The location and decorations were great! The number one reason this event works is due to the staff! Every single staff member that we (group of 4) ran into whether it was the door person, security, actors, or bar staff were awesome! They were very friendly, approachable, and made you feel welcome. This is something that many companies strive to achieve. I'm not sure how you did it 100% across the board but keep it up! If we had a question, the person stopped and assisted like it was the most important thing for them to take care of. Thank you very much (to the staff)! Cons: The drinks and VIP tickets for extra drinks were a total rip off! We all purchased a VIP ticket that included 5 "mini cocktails" with chocolate. The mini cocktails came in a mini sized plastic cup. Even that is fine but the 2 bars on the 1st floor filled the cups with ice then added liquid 1/2 way up. Wow! The 3 bars upstairs filled them with ice then only poured ¼ of a cup of liquid. These aren't shots, they are blended with juice or other non-alcohol items. I haven't drank for 5 months and 1 person didn't want to drink so I drank hers. I essentially drank 10 drinks and didn't even get a buzz! I'm guessing that we actually received 1/10 to 1/8 of an ounce of alcohol in each drink. RIP OFF! The cups should have been filled up and they should have had some semblance of alcohol. Another issue was the number of people. We attended the 9pm event and it was cool outside. Everyone inside had sweat pouring down their faces. The windows were open but the issue is that there were way too many people. The building was absolutely packed top to bottom. You couldn't take a step without pushing past multiple people at the same time. There's no way we were under the maximum occupancy. In Seattle, you're supposed to be able to place a hula hoop around you and not touch anyone for adequate space. Even the staircase had a stopped line going from the 2nd floor to the basement. I went to the 3:00pm show on Sunday 10/9 and was incredibly excited for a fun Halloween immersive experience. We dressed in cocktail attire but there were folks in Halloween costumes, cocktail attire, and just regular clothing. We got to the event 30 minutes before the show time and immediately had to wait in line to get in. After showing our IDs twice and made it through security, we finally got in the courtyard where there was a bar set up to buy drinks. We were handed tarot cards that said to ask questions of the spirits and solve the mystery. Since it took 30 minutes to get through the line, we wanted to go in right away so we didn't miss anything so we headed to the front door. We were told we had to wait at the front door. Then we were told to enter and go upstairs or the room to the left. First thing I noticed was that it was incredibly crowded. People were really packed in and there were lines everywhere. There was a line to get a drink at the first bar we saw and we walked around the room as best as we could having to push past folks. We wanted to interact with the actors but it was very difficult to hear them with the ambient music blasting and the chatter of the crowd. Plus actors were swarmed with people. We watched a bit and decided to go upstairs and try to get a drink and explore. Upstairs was just as crowded as the first room and extremely hot. We were in cocktail attire like the invite suggested but everyone seemed to be dripping with sweat. Because people were in a mix of costumes, cocktail attire, and other clothing, it was difficult to tell who the actors were. So we couldn't find anyone to interact with. Plus being on the shorter side I couldn't see much in the crowd. We waited in a long line for our first drink that was included in the ticket. We had to show ID again (after we showed it twice at the gate and had a wristband) and got our drinks after a 10 minute wait. The drinks were pretty tasty, on the small side but I had assumed that was the case for a mini cocktail so I wasn't disappointed. Since it was loud and hot and crowded upstairs, we made our way back downstairs to try and find some folks to interact with but it was still just as crowded and noisy. We noticed a sign for a seance and thought we could wait in line for that since that was at least something a bit more directed. So we went outside, waited in line at another bar and showed our IDs again for our second included mini cocktail and waited in line for 10 minutes or so for the seance still without any idea of the story or what was going on but desperate to have a fun experience. The seance was cool but short (maybe 5 minutes?) and I still didn't have a grasp of what was going on. The plan was to then get another mini cocktail upstairs and head to the line for the beast all the way in the basement. Once we got back upstairs, it was now oppressively hot with all of those bodies. We waited in line to get another mini cocktail and show our IDs again. We headed to wait in line for the beast but it was just so hot and the line was so long that we decided to just quickly get the last drink and head outside to cool off. We really enjoyed this -- fun ambiance, great costumes, interesting performers, surprisingly decent cocktails, and a mystery to solve.

Pros: 1. The location was quite central in the heart of Capitol Hill. It was sort of interesting to see that building be repurposed as a haunted house. The parking situation was hectic, as expected. The best way to attend would have been via public transport or a rideshare drop-off. 2. The staff were quite nice, and they were ALL so in the theme. Nobody broke character from what I could tell. Amazing costumes, accents, magic tricks and dancing! 3. The story and the decor were quite interesting and the interactivity of it was unlike anything I had seen. I felt like I was truly celebrating Halloween in a mature way - getting dressed up and investing in a spooky story! Cons: 1. I'm not sure the drinks are necessary worth the ticket price. The ticket cost itself for 4 mini cocktails was $59 per person. Also, the ticket purchase required us to go thru Fever which tacked on a booking fee of $17.60 for two tickets- maybe that is a fixed price. Unsure. To top it off, if we wanted to change the booking, the booking fee was nonrefundable. 2. I think some of the acts had requests for tips which was strange to me because I thought the ticket price would cover what the actors get paid but is that not true? 3. There was one part of the story that required a QR code and people using phones to read a comic. That was a bit weird and took us out of the environment and vibe. Maybe something to reconsider for next time. Also, more time in the seance room activity would have been great. read more

My family and I went to the 3pm showing on 10/9, paid $91 for the Premier tickets and were all completely disappointed and underwhelmed by the entire experience. I agree with everyone on these reviews who stated that the Premier tickets were a rip off. Getting to skip one line into the terrace area before the show even starts, is not worth an extra $30. My biggest complaint was the 2 hour time limit. When you spend $91 on tickets and spend 85% of time waiting in line to go into two areas of the house that were stuffy and barely decorated, it's undeniably a huge disappointment. The storyline made no sense (in fact I'm fairly certain that the actors didn't even understand the plot) and the creatures in the basement looked like their costumes came strait from the Spirit Halloween store. It was comical, and I wish the actors would have embraced the hilarity in their surroundings, as opposed to taking themselves so seriously. I was also disappointed that there were no guaranteed Tarot readings and that you had to be "asked". I also have no clue what "secret games" there were. I did take it upon myself to find a manager in the ballroom and express my distaste for the cost of the tickets vs the experience and the marketing on the site being misleading. Compared to Disneyland or Universal Studios, which are ~$30-$40 more a ticket, this was a joke. Also compared to Meowolf Omega Mart, which is also an immersive and interactive experience (and about $35 a ticket), this didn't even hold a candle. Please also keep in mind that there are no indoor restrooms and that there are only two port a potties outside for hundreds of people, which to me seems like a sanitation and health code violation. All of the research I found online states that WA requires 1 toilet per 20 employees. I'm just thankful that I was at the 3pm showing and not later in the evening. I'm giving one star for the very kind woman who I enjoyed speaking with and whom worked in the ballroom, and one star for the amazing bartenders, who also laughed at me when I had to pour multiple drinks into one larger wine glass, due to time constraints. In conclusion, I could have saved $80 and had a better time wandering around the Spirit Halloween store for 2 hours with a six pack. read more

Pretty disappointed in this event. Here's why we won't be going back: It's overpriced and completely oversold. Two hours isn't nearly enough time to explore and have a leisurely experience with this amount of guests present. There were too many people trying to engage with the performers that there wasn't enough time to "solve" the mystery for yourself. There was also barely even room to walk around. Solving the ghost story is not as important as they make it seem when you arrive. They tell you to talk to the spirits so you can solve the mystery, but the story wasn't nearly as interesting or deep as we anticipated. Instead, don't waste your precious time and just go straight to the basement to see the creatures, collect the items, put the items back and get directed outside to the Red Death who does nothing more than point to a QR code you scan with your phone, and then you can read the entire comic style story. Last thing that really rubbed us the wrong way was that after we went outside to use the restrooms right at the end of our window and tried to quickly go back in to redeem our last premium drink+truffle ticket, the doorman literally said "There are no more drinks left ... I mean ... there are, but not for you." Wtf? We would have at least understood if he said something professional like "Sorry but I can't let you back in" but seriously, that was his response to someone just asking nicely? Completely unnecessary and the reason I'm even writing this review to be honest. P.S. The contortionist was the best part of this event. read more

I had really good company so I give my company 5 stars, but I agree that it's overbooked and 2 hours isn't enough to explore the mystery surrounding the theme of the party. Couldn't see performances because there was a large crowd and they did not announce when performances started/ended so you were almost always at the wrong part of the house. Event should be 1/2 to 1/3 as many people and another hour or two longer. Waiting meant that I couldn't solve as many mysteries as I wanted. read more

We had a great time. There were three floors of activities. The bottom floor had some ghouls and a mystery to solve. The main floor had two activities and two bars. The upstairs had a stage and some photo areas. We didn't wait for drinks. The drinks were also bigger and stronger than we thought they'd be. Most of the guests also had really fun costumes on. It was a fun event. Just wish we had a bit longer to enjoy everything. read more

I really wanted to avoid writing this review. I attempted to go to House of Spirits but could not stay due to a lack of accommodation for health/medical conditions that was not made clear to me prior to booking. A manager (who was very nice and did their best and I hold nothing against) told me they would see if they could do anything and I was left to stand in place for 30 minutes. Due to said condition and the very hot/crowded environment I was left standing in (without seating), this was not ideal, and I had to leave so as to not pass out. I did not have a sip of a drink nor enjoy a second of entertainment. The producers at the event (again: very kind and professional) told me somebody from Fever would reach out about a refund. I left my contact information for this purpose. Nobody followed up to reach out. I sent a message to the Fever customer support and was hit with a bunch of automated messages saying that they could offer me a $20 credit for a future event (hah!) and that they could not issue refunds. Again: I tried, again and again, to get this resolved before Yelping. I'm hoping this gets somebody's attention so that Fever can treat customers with humanity. (Again: The producers/managers on-site were great.) read more

Reading over last year's reviews, I will start by saying we enjoyed it, maybe because we knew what to expect. Overall, 2023 was as entertaining as last year, with a new story and costumes and different entertainment. It was worth going to but we will skip next year probably. Some great things: cocktails, while small, are good quality and inventive. If you dislike one, you can hand it back as long as it's still mostly full and go get another without using a drink ticket. The décor was thorough and enjoyably immersive and the makeup and costumes on the actors impressive. Also, the host building being 110 years old or something, the bathrooms last year were not up to the challenge so this year they brought top-end porta potties, which are huge with room to move around, lighting and both TP and hand sanitizer, plus a wash sink station outside. Other downsides in comparison to last year: The drink voucher this year, instead of a wrist band with tabs you pulled off, was your entry card, which was awkwardly large as it included the party rules. It was too big to put in a pocket unless folded, and if you lost it, there go your drinks. Juggling it and trying to get out a tip at the same time (tipping is not talked about but the bartenders work really hard and deserve it) especially if you have a cellphone (more on that in a minute ) and/or purse to hold is far more awkward than the wrist band (which you got one of anyway because of the different levels of timed entry). Also, all the story line elements were only accessible via a QR code which led to a video you had to stand and watch. Most of the night was centered around QR codes which was disappointing. None of us wanted to be on our cell phones: we all wanted to be in the moment, interacting with the characters and watching the entertainments. Having to constantly refer to the phone took us out of the moment so much, we skipped a lot of the story. The through-put was more awkward this year. Two of the main story acts were in the basement again, but instead of being part of the scavenger hunt element where people move through steadily, they were short separate acts in side rooms which required everyone to stand in lines and wait for each room to clear. Groups of about 12 were maximum so sometimes the lines were very long. As an incidental side, the entire story line this year was completely disjointed and random. It was entertaining but there was almost no cohesive center to a lot of barely connected parts from at least three unrelated cultural origins. The parts didn't connect up and most of the time made very little sense even as stand-alone skits. Lastly, for those of us who opted for Gold level, the additional cost for the chocolates was not worth it. Last year, when you got a cocktail, the chocolate was handed to you at the time as each had been curated to match the drink. Each drink had a chocolate that went with it. This year, not only did our five-drink tickets include only four chocolates, but they were handed to us in a package at the beginning with a QR code that led to descriptions. Handling the box, your drink ticket and your drink (and your cellphone) to shuffle a chocolate out of the box and unwrap was impossible. They were not marked so knowing which chocolate you were eating was impossible. Guessing which drink it was meant to go with was impossible. I could've brought my own far cheaper chocolates from home to go with each drink to far better effect. Not worth the extra cost (about 3.50 per chocolate). So final summary: if you know what you're getting and are willing to immerse yourself, it's a lot of fun. Expect crowds, small drinks, performance art. You're there for the experience and trying new flavors. Skip the chocolate, or else they should make the prices all the same and include chocolate for everyone as part of the whole. Don't bother with the videos. Just enjoy the characters and the ambience. If you work it out as price per minute, this is the same or cheaper than local haunted houses. Four of us thought it was worth it, minus the chocolates, and hoping they'll work out the issues above. 2022 was smoother. Both years were fun. read more
