We used to love this place. It had great vegan options close to our house. Now, since they changed owners, many of the vegan options have disappeared. They also run out of many of their other items on a regular basis. The waitstaff has never been outstanding, but now...it's really bad. Our waitress the other night asked if it was ok to replace the ginger beer in a ginger mule with ginger ale. It's not remotely the same. I'm extremely disappointed the new owners have let it get this way. Ok. We came back one more time because we just really wanted this place to get better, but we think we are finally done. I brought a party of eight in and it was so embarrassing. There was one server in the whole place. I think the last time there was at least two. Every time we ordered a drink, it took FOREVER!!!! Can't get a buzz at this place. The alcohol has passed through your system before the next drink comes. When we ordered, AGAIN! They were out of things. No Mac and cheese and no Brussel sprouts. My daughter was sooo upset. There was not a manager in sight to help or talk to tables. The server had the consolidation skills of a knat. All over the place. When my husband and I got our food, both plates were over cooked. The two kids not only Got their food last, but it was a solid 10 mins after everyone else. Again, no manager came by. Ok, the main point of writing this review is to state that Sammy Jo is a boss. I stayed for about an hour on a Friday, and she single handedly worked the entire bar like a champ! Seriously, an underrated skill because this bar was bustling! Happy hour seems to be a hotspot for this place. This was my first time in, and I was surprised to learn that they offer tequila flights, and whiskey flight, but do not offer beer flights! This is surprising because this is certainly a beer joint. On the plus side they have a great selection of local brews (although not all on the menu were available), and the bartenders do a fantastic job at helping you make a selection. Also their shots menu is really unique...peanut butter pixie stick what?! Apart from the drink, I'll agree with a few of the reviews below- the food takes quite awhile, BUT if you have a minute, I recommend the pretzel & beer cheese *chefs kiss*. I'm sure it's meant to feed two or three, shared amongst friends, but this was the perfect size for a gluttonous me (love me some beer cheese)! While I personally cannot say I'm in love with the "come and take it" staff uniforms, all and all, I would recommend this place for a nice happy hour brew with the mindset that the food is a bonus. read more

I've been here a handful of times, the vibe is cool. Laid back...service was good each time. Our waiters never mind taking our pics so they win with us. The food was meh...fill up on drinks and it's more than acceptable lol. I've had my share of beer, wines and fun mixed drinks. Can't say the pour was heavy. They have a HH menu but I'd stay away from those cauli bites...chile, a mess! The street tacos were pretty good though. It's your typical bar with decent drink and food selections. My friends and I stopped by here after spending the earlier part of the day outdoors at Paradigm Brewery a few miles down the road and we wanted to find a place where we could sit indoors while enjoying some good cocktails and delicious food. I'd never been here before nor did I have heard about this place. However, one of my friends is a fan and recommended this place so we ended up here. The bar is located inside Vintage Park so there's plenty of parking in the lot. The interior ambiance is nice with the bar smack in the center of the dining area. We sat at the booth facing the back wall. When we sat down, the table had not been cleaned yet but they quickly took care of that. Our server was friendly, but a bit on the slow side. He got pretty much all our orders right except for... drumrolls... WATER. As he was taking our drink orders, I had asked for a cup of water to cool down from the heat first. One of my friends had also asked for a cup of water along with his cocktail. Long story short, those cups of water never came until way, way, way later after we'd ordered and received our food order. And even then, when I'd asked for water again for the table, he had only brought out one for me. Now let's talk food. As a group, we had ordered the tomato basil soup and grilled cheese, herb & garlic ribeye, and Texas Cheese Steak. I personally had the cheese steak and even though it was decent, it was nothing to brag about and definitely not something that you go out of your way to get. There are bad restaurants, and then there's Annex Crafthouse, a place so tragically mismanaged it should be studied in business schools as a cautionary tale. I walked in, sat at the bar, and immediately became invisible. No greeting, no service, just me and the sounds of a bar staff more focused on shots and social hour than doing their jobs. Eventually, I was noticed not by a bartender, but by someone sitting next to me who also happened to work there (maybe?). She stayed glued to that barstool for the full two hours I was there. That's right, two hours for a sandwich. And no, it wasn't some Wagyu burger with truffle dust. It was a BLT. A $17 BLT. Ten minutes to get a menu. Another twenty to place my order. And then the wait began. I had time to rewatch my life choices while the bar played out like a bad improv show. One bartender actually tried, credit where it's due, but she was outnumbered by others who clearly mistook this job for a frat party. One guy was pouring free drinks for someone who seemed to be either an owner or a mascot, whoever he was (Z), he never paid for a thing and kept the booze flowing. Meanwhile, a woman in hot pants wandered around like she was part of a deleted scene from Coyote Ugly, alternating between knocking back shots with customers and occasionally pretending to clean up. Another woman, possibly a manager, definitely not on the roster for the evening, ate two full meals at the bar and played part-time server when she wasn't raiding the kitchen like it was her personal snack drawer. Finally, after a glacial 45 minutes, the legendary $17 BLT arrived. It was fine, basic, edible, the kind of sandwich that belongs on a diner menu for $6. The "premium" onion rings? A cruel joke. Greasy, rubbery, frozen abominations that tasted like burnt fryer oil and despair. I ate one and regretted it for the rest of the evening. The one competent bartender apologized when he saw the look on my face as I shoved the plate away. I paid, tipped her (she earned it), and left, never to return. Annex Crafthouse isn't just bad. It's a full-blown case study in how not to run a business. Where do I begin. We walked in the restaurant at 3:15. There's 2 people at the bar. Six top, we're the only table in the restaurant. A couple minutes go by, server comes by to give us our menus. We order 2 appetizers and one entree while the rest of us look. Maybe 5-8 more minutes go by, and we out in our second round of entrees for the rest as well as a dessert. About 30 minutes later as we are debating if we should stay or leave because the long wait, our first entree comes out which was the brisket stuffed jalapeños. These are fine and what you'd expect. The appetizer sampler comes out another 5 or so minutes later and we asked what the hold up was. Apparently they had only one cook in the back and the second one just came in. The server leaves and we notice the cauliflower bites have no sauce on it, the fried cheese is under fried, and the fried pickles are cold. Hungry and irritated I go over to the kitchen area and ask to speak to a manager. A 20 something woman comes out and speaks to me. She introduces herself as the bar manager but reassures me she can help take care of any issues. I will admit I was pretty upset but she was extremely professional and de-escalated the situation. I told her the food is either slow, cold, or wrong. If it's going to take forever like it to at least be right. She apologizes and says we will take care of it and make it right. This is good enough for me and I go to my table. As I'm sitting down some of the entrees are now being brought out a little less than an hour after we sat. Someone complains their brisket quesadillas should have come with sour cream, but they were given mayonnaise. At this point they have messed up legitimately everything that had came to the table so far besides the jalepeno poppers. So I go back with a menu and ask for the head manager. Yes, I was being rude because this is ridiculous. I show him the menu and ask him what comes with the brisket quesadillas, he ignores my question. I ask again, and he just tells me to f*** off. Alright Gordon Ramsay, so I ask "f*** off?" And he replies "yes, get the f*** out of here I'll comp your food" so I walk off and inform my table that we are being kicked out. It is not my fault you are incapable of running a restaurant with a *single* table. It is not my fault you scheduled too few cooks. It is not my fault you aren't competent or professional enough to de-escalate a situation. Your bar manager seems to have actual experience with guests, he however may need to find a different career. I have managed restaurants myself. His skin apparently is softer than his baby face looked. The fish and chips were good though. read more

The drinks here are fantastic--well-crafted and flavorful, definitely the highlight of the visit. However, the service was a bit of a letdown. They did offer waters pretty quickly but we had to wait to place a drink order until our server arrived (who apparently was late which was explained to us when our waters arrived) It seemed like the staff was understaffed. We ended up leaving earlier than planned because of the delays. I'll likely return for the drinks, but I hope they can improve on staffing and service next time. read more

They have a variety of indoor and outdoor seating and tvs are located all aroused so have a good view of multiple screens. They have an extensive menu and a wide variety of beers and cocktails. Talk about swamped on a Friday night!...Came here with a group on a Friday night, and Annex crumbled under the evening hustle bustle pressure of catering to each table, including ours. Given, we went on a weeknight and it was a fairly quiet and peaceful experience, but also knowing that it's a bar and is bound to get busy on evening and weekends, I was still quite disappointed with our service. Server wasn't very friendly, nor did she keep in mind that we had two kiddos at the table with us, and there was a long wait to receive our food. Caught by a patron!..."fool me once, shame on you...fool me twice, shame on me..." I ordered the Drunk Chick on my first time trying this place, and didn't realize on the menu that it comes with jalapeno corn bread...but on this second round, I noticed it on the menu, and realized that I never got my jalapeno corn bread last time. So, someone else in my group ordered the Drunk Chick, and it still didn't accompany the entree. I am fine if things run out in the kitchen, but it would be nice to be told that the item has ran out, instead of expecting what's on the entree, but something totally different comes out. PSA: if you order Drunk Chick, you're likely to get regular toasted garlic bread instead. Also, PSA: don't order the fish and chips. It's really hard to get fish and chips done right. The batter for the fish was too bready and too thick. Quickly became soggy, and due to the overwhelming batter, I barely ate it. Crispiness was gone and the plate just didn't do anything for me. Also my dish was supposed to come with Malt Vinegar aoili and tarter sauce concoction, but instead I got two things of ranch and straight malt vinegar...disappointing to say the least. While in the Tomball area and visiting a friend in the area, he brought us to the Annex Craft House as he knew we were big craft beer fans and wanted to show us of the restaurants he really enjoys. Of course we started off with a round of beers for the table, my wife with the Ingenious Bramble Hazy and me with the Southern Star Buried Hatchet Stout. There was a very tasty and interesting selection of beer at the Annex Craft House and we really enjoyed looking over the selection. Burgers was what we were in the mood for. My wife went with the Texas Cheese Steak, thinly sliced ribeye mixed with Pico de Gallo topped with questo and fresh jalapenos. One of the best burgers she has every had! I chose The Alamo TX BLT, thick bacon, cheddar cheese, pepper jack with a burger pattie added for good measure. One tasty burger and really hit the spot for me. The fries were hot and crisp and the service was outstanding. I am sure glad our friend introduced us to this place. Third time here and again a big hit or miss If you're a jalapeño fan, we really enjoyed the fried jalapeño appetizer; but be warned there are A TON. Both the loaded tots and the sliders seemed to need something additional for us. The tots were better with the Elvis sauce and we thought the sliders could have done with some bbq sauce. Wings were not my favorite. While my boyfriend ate them and didn't really mind them I wouldn't recommend. And the Brussel sprouts were average. What attracted us was the fact that the name says "Craft house" so the boyfriend thought "Craft beer." Craft beer is his favorite type to drink. The decorations are annoying and inconstant. It really clashes??? There is a pretty couch by the door, but then suddenly -- SPORTS BAR. Chandeliers, exposed brick and Alamo like paintings???? It just...doesn't...i don't know...flow???? The wait staff were all joking with one another towards the back of the bar and on their phones. And when our server kept coming back to check on us, she never waited until one of actually spoke, she just kind of thought a head nod would do (because of course, our mouths were full). Multiple times my boyfriend tried to ask for more bbq sauce for his slider but she just kept flitting off? By halfway through his 3rd slider he just let it go because the flavor was good enough, just a little dry. My grilled cheese and tomato soup was good, but my sandwich was not crispy. It was golden brown on the outside but somehow still soft. I liked how it had a tomato in it,though. The Maple old fashioned was pretty but very citrus-y. Not really any maple... Once 3pm hit, they turned up the radio and TVs, and that rattled my brain and made it difficult to understand my boyfriend even though he was right across the table from me. Maybe we just didn't order the right food? Maybe we just didn't have the right server? We left the restaurant full and satisfied in that regard, but everything else was a miss. We would be okay not coming back, it wouldn't hurt us. At least we tried a new place. read more
