Good luck on parking. You'll either be paying at a lot or walking many blocks. They have lots of outside seating and a few tables inside. Order at the kiosk. You can choose dine in or to go. Select your order, your flavor/heat, drink if any (there is a 'no drink' button at bottom if you scroll down), you can select 1 sauce. Pay via credit card to the right of the machine. Grab a number and enter it in the kiosk as well as your name and phone number. Not sure why phone number since it didn't text anything. Food was ready fairly quickly. In N Out & McDonald's fries are better than this. The fry literally squeaked in my mouth, they were tasting quite stale. Do not recommend! The Original Hot Sandwich doesn't have a LICK of heat to it. The slaw was honestly pathetic because I didn't even get more than 6 strands of shredded cabbage. It wasn't even a slaw, just looked like the pre-bagged mix you get a Vons. They give maybe 3 thin slices of pickle. Very skimpy here, no flavor. The breading however was crispy & chicken wasn't overdone. I think it's a good base, just needs more flavor, more oomph, more heat. And of course more slaw and pickles. I guess I would go up another heat level or just go to their max heat lvl. And I think jalapeños are spicy, so that's saying something with their scale lol. We also got the 10 Piece Chicken Nuggets, Buffalo Style and while it has a great amount of meat to it-- it was sooooo DRYYYYY. Even while coated in buffalo sauce. The restaurant was clean and has some tables for seating. We ordered the two tender meal with one Medium tender and one Honey Butter. My sister and I stumbled across this restaurant while walking through the Gaslamp. We stayed at the Pendry last year and don't recall this restaurant being here so it may be new. We visited on a Saturday for a late lunch around 1:10PM. It took ~ 20 minutes to get our food as the restaurant was busy. We both ordered the Chicken Sandwich and Tender Meal ($15.99) and a side of Coleslaw ($3.75). We both like spice and ordered both of the sandwiches spicy level, one tender spicy level, and one tender lift-off level. We both liked the kick of spicy level and both agreed that we could've done both the sandwich and tender at the lift-off level. We were both scarred from our dining experience at Hattie B's in Las Vegas where we ordered our chicken one level below the hottest option and couldn't finish our meal. The house sauce that comes with the meal has a nice tangy Sriracha flavor and was a nice compliment to the crinkle cut fries. You order on a kiosk and the food gets delivered to your table. The gentleman that served us was extremely friendly. We dined on the outside patio and were able to enjoy the fresh air and people watch. The line was long; there was only one person taking orders and one kiosk to place orders. They were busy but also short-staffed on Wednesday evening. It took almost an hour to place and get my order. However, when I returned the next evening, Thursday, the service was so much faster. I ordered through their website and only waited about 20 minutes to receive my food. For both days, I ordered the Sandwich & Tender with medium spice level. The sandwich was so delicious. The chicken was big, tender, and had great flavor; it was sweet, salty, and spicy. The fries were crispy and well-seasoned. I honestly couldn't stop eating it, even though it was late at night. Overall, I enjoyed my visit to Houston TX Hot Chicken. There were plenty of seats inside, and some seats outside if you want to people watch. The portions were generous, and the staff was friendly and welcoming. A $5 Space Dust is also a solid win for the area and honestly one of the highlights of the visit. That said, the food itself didn't quite land for me. They were out of the spicy sauce for the day, which is kind of a big miss for a hot chicken spot, and the tenders ended up being pretty dry. On top of that, the breading was soggy instead of crisp, which took away from the overall experience. And the fries really had no presence. They were kind of just there. I should have asked questions but I didn't. I ordered a chicken sandwich and I ordered fries which I didn't have to because the sandwich came with fries. I am glad I ordered the side of fries because they were delicious. They had some spices on them that was delicious, on top of that they melt cheese them. The chicken sandwich was good as well.
