I've been wanting to try this place and we happened to be walking in the Gaslamp area, so we decided to have dinner here. I'm so glad I finally did and I'm so glad that San Diego has a new hot chicken place! I ordered the limited time hot honey chicken sandwich and it was so tender and delicious and their crinkle fries are crispy and well seasoned! I thoroughly enjoyed my meal and would definitely come back to try their other menu items. I saw someone order just chicken pieces which looked amazing! I also want to try their slushy drinks. My only complaint is that you order at a machine screen and it's easy to navigate through but I must have missed the option for heat level. I would have liked my chicken sandwich to be spicy. I'd prefer to order from an actual person so that I can tailor my order and make sure that my chicken is spicy, because after all this is a hot chicken joint. There was also an older gentleman in front of me who didn't seem to be tech savvy so he took forever to place his order. Luckily there were some two machines. There's seating indoors, as well as at the counter where there's a couple of TVs to watch sports or whatever is playing. I've been here a couple of times. Today I tried out their new nuggets and hot honey tender. My favorite is still their sandwich, but the nuggets is definitely a close second. I also like their spicy levels and no matter how spicy you get, it doesn't lose the flavor. My boyfriend actually got the lift off, which is their spiciest level, and he loved it. Their house sauce is sweet with a kick, which I like dipping my crinkle fries in. There's an outdoor patio at the corner of 5th and K, so it's a good place to people watch since you're right in the middle of of Gaslamp. The location is perfect, being in the middle of the convention center, Martin Luther Kine Promenade, and Petco Park. Hey guys, The Big Gorger here, wanted to try a new chicken spot for dinner. Saw this place on TokTik and wanted to give it a go. Ordered online and I got the Buffalo sandwich with the hot honey chicken tender and mac and cheese. This meal was such a full meal to eat I am GORGED to the max. I'd say this place is one of those I'll have once in a while places. The flavor was there but it also was just another chicken spot if that makes sense. If you're looking for spicy and a nice kick, I would definitely recommend the Spicy Habanero, but if you're just looking for good flavor I would recommend the Honey Rub. The sauce is also delicious and pairs well with all the wing flavor too similar to a chick fila and raising canes mix. They give maybe 3 thin slices of pickle. Very skimpy here, no flavor. The breading however was crispy & chicken wasn't overdone. I think it's a good base, just needs more flavor, more oomph, more heat. And of course more slaw and pickles. I guess I would go up another heat level or just go to their max heat lvl. And I think jalapeños are spicy, so that's saying something with their scale lol. The restaurant was clean and has some tables for seating. We ordered the two tender meal with one Medium tender and one Honey Butter. The Honey Butter didn't have much flavor and the Medium tender was good. The dipping sauce was really good, they only give one cup in an order so I would recommend ordering extra. My sister and I stumbled across this restaurant while walking through the Gaslamp. We stayed at the Pendry last year and don't recall this restaurant being here so it may be new. We visited on a Saturday for a late lunch around 1:10PM. It took ~ 20 minutes to get our food as the restaurant was busy. We both ordered the Chicken Sandwich and Tender Meal ($15.99) and a side of Coleslaw ($3.75). We both like spice and ordered both of the sandwiches spicy level, one tender spicy level, and one tender lift-off level. We both liked the kick of spicy level and both agreed that we could've done both the sandwich and tender at the lift-off level. We were both scarred from our dining experience at Hattie B's in Las Vegas where we ordered our chicken one level below the hottest option and couldn't finish our meal. The house sauce that comes with the meal has a nice tangy Sriracha flavor and was a nice compliment to the crinkle cut fries. You order on a kiosk and the food gets delivered to your table. The gentleman that served us was extremely friendly. We dined on the outside patio and were able to enjoy the fresh air and people watch. A $5 Space Dust is also a solid win for the area and honestly one of the highlights of the visit. That said, the food itself didn't quite land for me. They were out of the spicy sauce for the day, which is kind of a big miss for a hot chicken spot, and the tenders ended up being pretty dry. On top of that, the breading was soggy instead of crisp, which took away from the overall experience. And the fries really had no presence. They were kind of just there.
