Absolutely perfect! Had my system media change done today…read more Tony was my Kinetico representative. Politely called prior to arrival, letting me know he was on his way. Arrived with a smile and a welcoming handshake. Took care of the media change in roughly 40 minutes. Very thorough and very professional! Recommend!

This review is being written 10 years after I bought my first Soft Water / RO system from Kinetico…read more It is not about the product or how well it worked when it was first installed. It's about the predatory upsell they do when things go wrong, and about the lies they tell when all you're trying to do is get things fixed. When I bought the system I bought top of the line, that fits the size of my house. 10 years ago the whole thing cost just under $5K. Fast forward to 6 years later when I had water leaking from the base. I called and had Kinetico and had them come out to fix it. After the inspection Mike Maddox, the GM called me. He told me they no longer sold the type of system I had and sold me a 'new' tank for the salt (because the other one couldn't be repaired). The tank I original got held 3, 40 lb bags of salt. This new one had a much smaller tank as they 'don't make them that big anymore'. I was also offered a 10-year warranty on this new tank/system. Because he was so nice, apologetic and offered me a 10-year warranty I went ahead and spent another $750 to replace the tank with this newer one. Fast forward to 2026. I started losing water pressure when the dishwasher or washer was running. The plumber was out and told me that it was the soft water system; a filter had torn and I had resin all over the place. I called Kinetico and asked to speak to the Service Dept. I spoke with the lady and requested a service call. She reviewed my file and said "Oh, you have a 10-year warranty so this will only cost you to have the service call and to replace the filters on the RO system" The service call was set up.. Kinetico confirmed the resin was the problem and advised that they could clean it up and sell me a Chlorinator for $1K. The repair man and I went back and forth on this because I had a 10-year warranty. He said I never had a Chlorinator. Needless to say, I was pretty unhappy with this news. After I calmed down (a month later) I called Kinetico to set up the Chlorinator install. I asked for Service and when they pulled my account up they transferred me to Mike Maddox (without my asking to be transferred or even speak to the GM. He pulled up my account and then told me I do not have a 10-year warranty. He then told me he had to pull my paperwork from the original sale (all he could see was the history from 5 years ago) to see what system I had originally bought. When we spoke (some 20 minutes later) here is what he told me; 1. He was surprised that I had a tank the size I currently do, because it wouldn't support my house size 2. That the tank they sold me 5 years ago has been out of production for 10 years 3. That the tank they sold me was refurbished 4. That I had declined the Chlorinator when I bought the first system 5. That I declined it with the second tank 6. That the Chlorinator would not work with such a small tank 7. That I should spend another $5600 to replace my current tank system and get a Chlorinator + a 10-year warranty because it comes with the new system 8. They do not offer 10-year warranties on anything except the RO system I have 9. That the gal in service that said I had a 10-year warranty 'doesn't know what they were talking about' 10. And that my memory is bad Now, I am not saying that I am 100% with everything again, but he implied that I was 100% wrong. Every time something goes wrong with what's in the garage, I get transferred to him (he's the same guy I dealt with 5 years ago). I have never heard the word Chlorinator before July. If I had been offered it I either would have put it on the system if advised too, unless I was told I wouldn't really need it. I don't just spend that kind of money on my house without expectations. He is predatory upselling stuff when things break and lying to get the buy in. When I paid for this 10 years ago, the service was great. Replacing the tank with a newer version that required less garage space and less sale, I did that because I loved the system and he was nice enough to offer me a deal and a 10-year warranty. When I finally bit the bullet to spend $1K on the Chlorinator so I could have soft water again, the arrogance and lies and talking down to me and about his staff is unacceptable. I never even asked to speak to him but he's told me the Chlorinator probably won't work for the system I have now. Right now, I have no soft water, and I do not want to speak to him again and I know if I have other companies out to quote me for the fix I'm just going to be irritated with all of it, all over again.
