He was able to get me an amazing deal on an LG Washer and Dryer and was also able to get me a refrigerator, which I was not planning on getting but decided to since it was a good buy. As I made a complaint about the installers was true and I hope I never am at any installers mercy again..to not delivering my appliance to just leaving without even trying to instal or to hearing the installer say, "we will be here all day" ..it was very difficult to be in that vulnerable place. Special thanks to Sal at Howard's Torrance for taking my call on a Saturday morning and answering questions I had about the measurements for a new fridge. He needed to call me back to verify stock at the warehouse on a Whirlpool model , Great customer service - Sal kept his word and called me back within 10 minutes. I decided to visit the showroom and meet Sal, so I could see the display models for Samsung and Whirlpool, Our old GE was acting up. We needed fast delivery. Sal set up a next day Sunday afternoon delivery. The team was on time, but a bit rushed. I realized after the delivery team left that for the right door to open all the way that the fridge needed to come out a couple of inches. I called Howard's Customer Service on Monday and spoke with Kirby. He arranged for a Tuesday appointment for a delivery team to come back to adjust the spacing. Very happy with new Samsung 28 cu. ft french door model I decided on. Terrible customer service. Sales rep was unable to explain herself about a refrigerator on the website due to difficulty with English. When she couldn't explain what she wanted to say, she transferred me to her boss. After holding for a while Mike came on the phone. I asked if the sales rep had told him why I was calling and he said no. I then started to tell him I was looking at a model refrigerator on line and he rattled off the model. I asked, so you were told why I was calling and he again said no. Turns out they are advertising a model on sale for a deep discount which turned out to be only one, a floor model, with dents and scratches, yet that is not what they say online. Bad communication. I missed 2 days of work because they never delivered our product. Instead, they bold faced lied to us about availability and never called to inform us that the dishwasher we paid for was not to be available for several months. They were quick to withdrawal the funds and it has taken 3 weeks for them to even discuss possible refund. I'm sure Howard's could do better - a single phone call would have resolved this issue, but they obviously want to hold onto the money instead of doing the right thing and contacting us that they could not fulfill their commitment. Promises that they would return phone calls were NEVER realized as I would have to call them back hours after said commitments were made. If you read past reviews many other customers also complain about purchases that were never delivered as well as prolonged or delayed refunds that take weeks for Howard's to fulfill. Buyer beware. As for me I'll take my business to Lowes, Home Depot or Best Buy. You'll find the pricing to be about the same. But you'll never get the runaround about product availability and customer refunds. read more

Worst appliance purchase experience I've ever had. I thought a smaller store would be more thoughtful about customer service, but I was wrong. I should have gone to Home Depot to start with. The morning deliver/installation appointment I was promised turned in to 12-3pm, which really meant 7pm. The installation charge was quoted at the time of purchase at under $100, but turned in to over $500 when the delivery was finally made. Horrible service. Spent $1800 and they treated us like we were a burden. We asked them to have the driver call us 1-2 hours before delivery because no one was going to be home but, driver lied about calling us, multiple times apparently, because we obviously had no missed numbers from any unknown numbers. After we brought it to the sales mans attention, we received no apologies and caused us more inconvenience by informing us our account won't be credited until they received the merchandise back WHICH THEY NEVER EVEN DELIVERED. Look at the average rating, this place is HORRIBLE. All they care about is commission because they are all "partial owners" as they clearly state on their name tags. Came in here looking for a Samsung washer and dryer set after looking at Best Buy, Pacific Sales Outlet, Home Depot, Lowes, and Pacific Sales. I found the units I wanted for $200 less than the Pacific Sales outlet and this was brand new (Pacific Sales Outlet sells returned/blemished items). The one at the outlet was a return and they don't even offer any delivery/installation at the PS outlet. Howards charged only $50 for delivery and install so that pretty much sealed the deal for me. Keep in mind though that their advertising tactics can be a little tricky as they throw in all sorts of rebates and things to make you think it's cheaper when it may not be. So be sure to do your homework beforehand or do what I did and use your smartphone to do research on the spot. Anyways, I bought it, and asked them to hold onto it for a couple weeks while I sold the old units and got moved into our new place. Fast forward 2 weeks and the units are delivered and installed without any problems. I underestimated the size of these units so they didn't get placed in the exact spot I had hoped. Looks like the units will have to be stacked. Crap! Fast forward 1 week later. I manage to buy a stacking kit from Best Buy (Howard's didn't have them in stock and they needed to order it. It would take over a week and i didn't want to wait). However, Howard's was nice enough to offer me the same $50 install deal to have the guys come back out to stack the units. This is waaaay cheaper than hiring an appliance installer to do it for me which would have cost about $100. During the install one of the guys notices a dent on the side panel of the washer near the back. It doesn't have any impact on the performance but is noticeable. Looks like I missed it during the initial install. Anyways I let Salmahida (the Howard's salesman) know about this and even though its been almost a month he was able to work with his manager to discount the washer unit about 10% more. So far so good! I'd give them 5 stars for pricing and customer service but I need to dock them 1 star for initially selling me a damaged unit. In the end they did come through and i'd definitely shop there again. read more

I needed a small fridge for my new apartment fast. Looked online and then called to check out if any modles I liked were in stock. I spoke with Mike D, he took care of me from when I called till I walked out the door after purchase. Helped set up delivery and even scheduled earlier due to my situation. He also advised getting extended warrenty, but I didn't have the cash at the time. He told me I could still purchase it within 30 days. When I called a few weeks later to purchase, he handled it over the phone so I didn't have to drive out of my way. The facility itseld was clean and organized. Our sales rep, Anita Patel was very informative, honest, and did not put any pressure on us to purchase anything or towards a specific product. She showed us different options and informed us of each product's specs and features. We decided on a LG refrigerator and range, which was priced close to or up to $100 less than the other stores. We made the purchase on the Saturday of Labor Day weekend and they guaranteed delivery on Monday, the actual Labor Day holiday. The day before the delivery we received a phone call with the window time the products would be delivered. The day of delivery, we received another phone call an hour before the delivery would arrive. The delivery came at the specified time. The delivery men were pleasant and the products came in good condition. They opened the packages and inspected the items with us before they left. Howard's also offers 30 day price match. read more

We wanted a washer and dryer- so I went by the store and the rep there showed me all of the washers and dryers and could explain to me the advantages and disadvantages of each type. I realized I needed to do more research, since I had no idea which way to go. So we looked at a few other stores, read the the consumer reports on washers, and figured out what we wanted. Only problem- President's Day is coming up and we didn't want to miss a sale. So I called the store, and spoke with Anita and asked for a quote. She gave me the quote that was just about the same price as all other stores, but mentioned that they give a $75.00 water efficiency rebate on that appliance AND we can get a Waterwise rebate of $85.00. I was still hesitant, always waiting for a better price- Anita mentioned that Howards' matches prices for 60 days for any physical store advertised price. Count me in! This was Tuesday late afternoon. The machines were delivered and installed Thursday 1:00 PM and our old machine was removed!! Also, I got a phone call from Anita to be sure the machine was there, she texted me the invoices and rebate information immediately after I ordered them AND she mailed them to me that day. Talk about efficiency! The delivery guys were also polite and helpful. I don't think you could beat the service we received from Howards, both in person with the sales guy as well as over the phone with Anita. I highly recommend shopping here. read more

This place used to be Circuit City. Went in on a Sat one week before the Super Bowl, just want to see what the prices are for the 55" or so LED/LCD TV to replace my 7 years old tube type HDTV (1080P). Adam was the sales person, he is knowledgeable about the plasma/LED/LCD TV and showed me and my wife the deal of the week, the SONY KDL55HX729. We checked the image quality between different brands and technologies, since we don't want a Korean brand (had a bad experience with Samsung refrigerator) and we would like to have less energy consumption LED TV, the SONY seems to be the choice. I quickly checked the prices of the NHX729 with my smart phone and found that Howards indeed is $200 less than even the on-line prices. So, we went for it and use the saving toward the extended warranty. We also picked up a nice TV stand for like $169, which is not a bad deal. Adam also helped and gave us a discount on the stand. (Below is related to the TV stand) I took the TV stand home and schedule the TV for delivery on the Sat before the Super Bowl. We went home and I started putting the stand together. Unfortunately, one of the piece's holding mechanism broke, so I called Howards the next morning at around 10:30AM and was told the sales won't be in until 11AM, so I decided to wait and call back at that time. By 11:05, Adam called me and after ex planing what had happened, he suggested that I contact the manufacturer (he gave me the number) and if the issue is not resolved, call him back. The stand was made by Performa, I then look at the front of the installation manual, it says clearly ta ht customer should call them and not the store, for any issues. It was a Sunday afternoon, but I called anyway. They actually answered the phone, took my information and said a replacement piece would arrive within 8 days. I was thinking that is just great, I can't have the TV setup for the Super Bowl, wrong! The piece arrived Thursday and I quickly put up the stand ready for the TV on Sat. (Delivery) Two gentlemen delivered the TV and put on the stand shortly. They were careful and polite. One of them was novice, so the other was explaining how to setup the TV and what to watch out for, etc. They have everything setup in about 10 min and were nice enough to take away my old TV (that thing weights about 150 lbs!) and move the armoire to the garage for us. It has been two weeks and we love the TV. I have then put the TV on the SONY sound bar CT550W and the SONY Blue Ray player should be here shortly. Just a note that the sound bar system is linked to the TV, so that if I turned the TV off, the system is also off. With all SONY equipments, I could just use one remote for all. Overall, it was a nice experience and I would recommend that you give them a try and ask for Adam. read more

Recently needed to replace all of my older kitchen appliances....I narrowed my choices down to GE Monogram or Thermador. I was impressed with the service provided by Frank and Saleem. Frank was very knowledgeable, answered all of my questions, and offered much better pricing than the quote I got from one of their local competitors. I also never got the pushy sales approach either. I went with the Thermador package, and so far so good. Howard's 3rd party installer did a good job with only one minor issue to fix. We bought a cooktop on a Sunday and had delivery scheduled for the following Saturday. The installer was to have called us on the Friday night before to give us a time range. We called twice when we didn't hear from the installer and my last call was at 8:30 p.m. No one at Howard's picked up the phone call, so I left a voice mail message. At 10:15 p.m., the installer called and set the time at 5 p.m. rather than giving us a time range. He had to cut granite in order to install the cooktop but didn't have his own shop vac and asked to use our Dyson vacuum cleaner. Now the Dyson doesn't work. It spits out the granite dust and there is no suction. read more

Started off with a good experience with this company until nothing went right after the delivery. The equipment I choose was not the right fit for my house and it did not help that it was installed incorrectly which made me dislike it even more. Bottom line an exchange was authorized but I was charged a restocking fee that I though was unfair. Salesman was real nice the day I made my purchase and everything was fine but when the problems occurred he become uninterested, never even called to apologize for my problems. I bought my TV here back in November. The sales team was a delight and my salesman (the Indian guy) helped me apply for financing. They were all very helpful and they all worked well together. Jokes were floating throughout the store and everyone had a smile on their face. Its sad the store is always so empty though. There was only one other person there when I bought the TV and then when I went back to get a wall mount and was helped by the assistant manager (a white guy) there was only a few people there. I purchased an LG washer and dryer from Howards in August of 2011 and was sold a three year extended warranty, which is about to expire. The third party warranty company offered me another year at about $170. I called LG and they told me that their cost to extend the warranty 3 years was about $270, but that the w & d were ineligible because the time limit to sign up is within the first year after purchase. I spoke with the assistant manager at Howards letting him know that I was never told this up front. I also lodged a complaint with LG. This is basically called "dealer pack" when sales operations load up financial options on top of the purchase price. They make more profit on extended warranties than they do on the appliances. I will never recommend Howards. The products are great, but their underhanded tactics are not. read more

I would NEVER buy anything there again. Worst customer service. Ordered a microwave (needed a specific one to fit into custom space). Was told 3 weeks delivery date. I had to call to see status of delivery, which changed at each new expected delivery date. Never was informed by Howard's that my ETA had changed. I asked for updates and was told I would get a call back. Never received a call back. When microwave was finally delivered to the store 3 months later, I called to see if it was there. Manager had to call me back. Manager calls and says "I'm calling you to tell you microwave has arrived". Would he have called if hadn't called first? read more

Howard's has great prices and customer service, however the issues come after your purchase. We had gone into the store with the intention of buying a 24" gas wall oven, but the salesman recommended we get a 27" wall oven. We purchased the 27" but by the time our remodel had finished and we were ready to install it, the oven he sold us was an electric oven! When we tried to exchange it, they said it was too late and if they allowed us to there would be a 25% restocking fee. In addition, when the delivery people switched out our appliances, they severely damaged our refrigerator with dents all over the stainless steel. When you call the manager, he has no sympathy and places the blame on the customer. Never will spend a penny here again. read more

Walked in at Howard's, was greeted by Saleem Mahida, knowing what I wanted,it was easy he told how much and all , I said I had seen it for less and he matched plus a rebate that come with it. who doesn't like that. I took the measurements again and wanted to double check ,my husbands took care of the arrangements. I didn't get the fridge I wanted but with Saleem expertise we got a better one at same price and he made sure we were happy with the delivery guys, he followed with a phone call. Who does that this days. We wanted the right fridge, he wanted his commission and hopefully he got it . It was a great great buying experience. I paid a lot of money for a full suite of "high end" kitchen appliances. I was sold on Frigidaire by the Howard's salesman. As soon as I got delivery and installation, fridge was running loud much of the time. Called Frigidaire to complain about noise and the "customer service" person referred me to the pages of the manual that featured those sounds. Second call resulted in five minute service call during which appliance was quiet. Third call the same. They need to replace or fix but not ignore or shine on til warranty wears out.
