Alexis, or however you spell her name, charged me for a drink that another patron bought. I didn't have a problem with it I just questioned it. She got vehemently angry with me, kicked me out, which I was leaving anyway. And then I find out on my card that she charged me a $5 fee for a tip. Don't ever go here. Not ever. read more

The chicken fried steak was a joke being pounded so thin. The potatoes had enough garlic to kill a vampire and when we received and paid for another persons ticket, (servers fault?) we were never reimbursed for the mistake. The owner was rude. I do not recommend this place. read more

Howdy's is one of my favorite places ever. My family and I try to go almost every Wednesday for karaoke. The dj is awesome, staff is great, and the food is always good and beer is always cold! We stopped in for lunch, and so glad we did! Our server Deb was super sweet and made us some delicious Bloody Mary's. She said the fries were the best in town and she was right. I ordered the smash burger and my friend ordered the half BLT sandwich with fries, and both were delicious. They have daily lunch specials paired with cocktails/beer -- fun! The ambience is fun too. We plan on going back tomorrow for lunch, so we obviously really enjoyed it. Highly recommend! read more

What a fantastic bar and restaurant! Very eclectic mix of a place. Off the beaten path it's got a roadhouse honkytonk feel. Creative bar stools, long solid bar. Massive patio. Live music Fri, Sat, and Sun. Can tell a lotta work put into it being a place to chill as the name says. Bathrooms were clean. Amstel on tap. LoneStar light bottle for me. Wife had a Bloody Mary. Ordered Brisket Bites which is a country fried brisket mix. Very good appetizer. Had Country Fried Chicken with mashed potatoes and beans. Very tasty, hit the spot. Wife ordered Howdy Carnitas Tacos. Second time here and hubby got SAME dinner, a year later! Smoke pork chops are amazing! Green beans and bacon could be a meal in themselves, and the mashed potatoes were great too. If we had actually been served, this review might look very different. We came in after seeing Howdy's online and thought it seemed like a fun little dive. Instead, we sat at the bar and were blatantly ignored. The bartender eventually made eye contact, promised he'd be with us, and then never returned. After being brushed off completely, we walked out. Nice bar/grill. Somewhat hidden but not difficult to find. Went in on karaoke night...was pretty cool. Bartender was friendly and attentive. Tried the Altstadt beer (local brew )...good taste. I was invited to play in a weekly 8 Ball pool tournament at Howdy's in Ingram/Kerrville Tx by a friend last week . It was a good turn out and I must post as this place was one of the best local Hill Country Family places I've been to ! A fun CLEAN country atmosphere with lots of indoor outdoor space. The food was outstanding . I had the tuesday tequila tacos!! They offered it with chciken , steak or fish ! Salsa was freshly made ! Nothing was left on my plate . Menu was open till 8pm so I made sure my order was in . Drinks were very responsible also . I met the owners and the waitstaff did not fail in any aspect! Becca the bartender showed that she was very tuned and trained to costumer service . I was greeted as I came in with a smile !! They have bands on weekends also. I'm only 20 miles away in Medina Tx but I'd drive much further to experience what they have in place ! Don't hesitate if your looking for the best around . I'll be back Sunday ! Horrible! Please refer to my google review. Lots to read and shows the truth. Bad food, over charges, lots of staff turnover and then there's the owner. I really gave this place a chance for too long. That's my bad. Very unfortunate this place could have been something. Now people go there for the live music , drink and dance. Howdy's has the same down home ambiance as the Wildass Haybarn that was located in this same location. If you want good food at a great value, check this new chill and grill place out. The menu has many options that would appeal to a myriad of tastes. I'm anxious to return to sample a smash burger on Texas Toast! My chicken fried steak was flavorful with mashed potatoes and green beans with bacon. A generous amount of good old fashioned cream gravy covered the steak and mashed. I appreciated the option to get half orders of many of the entrees although a half order of CFS was very generous and under $10.00. I have to say that when it was the Wild Ass Hey Barn the food was just ok. It's been years since I've been there. So I wasn't expecting much as far as food or establishment. But wow I was so impressed with the food, we had the chicken tender basket that was the best chicken tenders I've had anywhere, the fries were fresh. We also had the Cauliflower pizza and it was outstanding! The brisket bites were really good too. A few days later we had to go back and this time I had the fried chicken plate and it was so delicious, the mac and cheese was creamy and homemade. The place was much improved since it changed to Howdys. I like that they are pet friendly. The staff is very friendly and the owner is too, she is very much hands on and takes pride in this establishment. I would highly recommend and yes we will be back again to try out more food. Oh they also have a full bar and the prices are good. The place is family friendly, and pet friendly. Would I recommend? Absolutely!!! read more

This place ROCKS!! We stopped by on a Saturday afternoon to check it out, they just opened a couple of weeks before. This place is WONDERFUL! The staff is very nice, polite and great! The owners are out mingling with the customers. The atmosphere is relaxed and you walk in and feel at home. They kept the old HeyBarn persona with adding their own vibe. The outside deck is so nice, you can enjoy a nice cool breeze in the evenings, and cool shade in the afternoon. Food is great!!! if you want to go have some drinks and appetizers.. this is a great place!! And the dinners look delicious!! It is clean, the bar is wonderful.
