Service was a 15/10 - great recommendations and so friendly! The egg rolls are a MUST - these are marry me egg rolls. Exploding with flavor in every bite and very generous portion! Very innovative Rueben was also great!!! And patty melt was decent but not the best patty melt I've ever had probably not in my top 5 so if it's between the patty melt and something else maybe choose something else. Maybe this is picky but it bothers me when patty melts are just a circular burger patty in between bread...I think the beef should be molded into the shape of the bread so you can have meat in every bite and the patty isn't sliding around. This claim to fame about this place is it's an ''old time diner''..Well..not really, some 70's-80's art work of movies etc...Food was Meh..ok but nothing to get excited about. Place was fairly crowded for a Saturday afternoon. Service was very good, very friendly, prices are a little nuts though. $6 for a small ice coffee no refills, $3.50 for a very small ice tea again never a refill. this place had some pretty cool decor straight throwback to the 90s was so fun to see a lot of the cartoon characters I grew up with. They had a wide variety of fresh made American flower food. I was here at 10am today (Saturday). The restaurant was very busy as it was the breakfast/brunch hour. I was immediately greeted at the door with a wonderful smiling hostess, who walked us immediately to a table. A few SECONDS later, our server , Shannon, greeted us. I ordered a breakfast special. The eggs were cooked absolutely PERFECT and the pancakes were made to excellence. The service is amazing and they made us feel like VIPs. Howley's Crab Hash -- This breakfast behemoth was loaded with large potatoes, peppers, soft eggs, lumps of crab, and hollandaise. Their rendition on Florida hash brought me back to growing up in Florida. It was hearty and delicious. Served with bacon and toast, I doubt anyone finishes the whole plate. Yummmmy!! What a fun place to have breakfast/lunch. We both ordered the goat cheese/apple omelet. Yup, delish. I ordered grits with mine. They were ok but pretty lumpy. My G-girl order the potato's with hers and toast so, she was pretty full fast and couldn't finish the omelette. We both had delish cappuccino's however they were warm not hot. There was a time when Howleys was an oasis but times have changed for the neighborhood for the better. Howleys has, too. First, the food is fresh and delicious. Second, the staff is sweet and helpful. This funky, fun feeling place somehow brings vintage and current together to be its own vibe in the place. My only issue is that it's become quite expensive for a simple breakfast, for example, compared to the perceived funkiness. Is it outside the norm? To other Subculture Group places? The dining area is a mixture of 1950s retro with modern hipster art. The service was excellent. The waitress was very pleasant and informative. My breakfast of waffles was served nice and hot. My side of fruit was fresh and delicious. My hot steaming coffee was served just the way I love it! Lively conversation was shared amongst the staff and my table filled with laughs and many stories. I love a 50's dinner. Not one filled with 50's kitsch but restored to how it actually looked in the 1950's. Howley's could not make me happier. Patrick Howley opened the doors of a small diner in 1950. Since then their motto has been "Cooked in sight must be right." Ownership has only changed hands three times. When you walk in the door and see the long counter and pressed tin ceiling you are taken back in time. The restaurant was restored and expanded in 2004 by Rodney Mayo, owner of the Subculture group which owns 17 restaurants and bars. My daughter loves their Respectable Street and I have dined at Hullabaloo and both Sub Culture Coffee Roasters. All of Subculture's businesses are very different and very cool. At Howley's Mayo added a classic Florida room for the dining area and patio seating to increase the capacity. The terrazzo floors and formica topped tables were retained to keep that vintage feel. There are so many reasons to love this place. Breakfast is served all day, they serve beer, wine, and cocktails, they serve a "T.V. dinner" , and they are open to 5 AM on the weekends. Thrillist has named them one of the 21 best diners in the country. You can dine in or get take out. I opted to sit at the counter to get the full diner experience. For dinner I had the patty melt and coffee which is provided by subculture. The patty melt was the best I have ever had. It was so large I had to take half home. I also took home a slice of their coconut cake which was so moist and delicious. Their food lived up to the care of the renovation. Eating at Howleys reminded me of a restaurant I love at Disney Hollywood Studios, 50's Prime Time Cafe. Next time I want to try the Thanksgiving Dinner. Howley's has your comfort food fix. Howley's was recently in the news for distributing thousands of free meals during Covid-19. After he had to lay off his staff, Rodney Mayo turned Howley's into a non profit kitchen distributing hot meals to anyone who was hungry. He got a donation from the city and partnered with the non profit Living Hungry. The community was grateful and while I was eating people were stopping in to give donations and thanks. Howley's serves up incredible food in a historic setting and they give back to the community. Count me in as a fan. read more

Howley's is the best restaurant in Florida potentially. Been here twice now, both times after 11pm after flying into Palm Beach on late flights. Most recently, Jake and Tyler made our experience A1. They are the guys. Re: food - the big mouth burger is crazy good and the chicken Cesar salad is always the go to. Breakfast is incredible too although haven't tried it yet. No worries but it was a bit drizzly and we had to wait outside. But once we were seated, the culinary adventure started. The menu contained all of the traditional diner foods and then some--including their take on the TV dinner from the 1950's. I opted for the chicken and noodle soup with a matzo ball. It was quite salty but otherwise okay. I had a hankering for the meatloaf, which was also okay. It came with a generous helping of mixed vegetables and mashed potatoes. Gravy came on the side. My hubby got the crab cakes and said they weee excellent (they looked good too!) Service was good despite being short staffed. Featuring large sandwiches, omelets, and even t.v. dinners. My favorite dish, and reason I come so often at breakfast is the pulled pork eggs benedict. Used to be open basically 24 hrs a day but closes early due to covid staffing issues. Give them a call for correct hours. Such a great way to step back in time. What a cool spot to grab simple foods that taste really good. Love all the pop culture decor, currently with a ton of Halloween pop culture all around too! The hostess was friendly and we got a table for our family of 5 immediately on a mid-morning Saturday. Our server was friendly and efficient. I do appreciate when a server offers to bring the kids' food out first and knows how to set a cup away from their grabby hands. The acai bowl, which was my teen's only request, was well made and full of good stuff. The kids' breakfast plate was the perfect size for my 9-year old. The husband got a breakfast quesadilla and said it was tasty, but he still split some hot cakes with our teen! Momma's Hotcakes is a big plate. I had the Howley's Special with French Toast and Veggie Breakfast Sausage, and it was pure comfort. My over-medium eggs could've been cooked a little more evenly, but it was still good. The Veggie sausage was tasty, and the fact that it was available was great. And the toast was simple and tasty. Seriously, it's all comfort foods!
