After we had 3 other plumbers come out and not one of them fixed the problem, I called HTA and they came right out! Anthony (I am pretty sure that's his name) went above and beyond trying to get the manufacturer to cover the new water heater under warranty, it was only 2.5 years old! What good is a warranty if they refuse to honor it? After staying in the line with them for about 2 hours we gave up and we just paid to have the water heater changed! He went and picked up a new water heater and had it replaced in no time! The building permit was included in the total cost, did you know water heater replacements need a permit? They do. The city inspector came out yesterday and the installation passed inspection without a question. I will definitely call HTA first from now on! read more

We had HTA Plumbing install a new hot water heater in April of 2024. Yesterday we had an issue with the hot water heater leaking from the bottom of the tank. We had another plumbing company come out to give an estimate and was informed that the water heater has to be replaced. Although the tank was brand new when installed it had a 6 year warranty on it but what we were not told is that the tank was manufactured in 2021 and the warranty starts in the year it is manufactured not the year it was purchased. We now have to purchase a new water heater and since the manufacturer will be replacing the broken one with a new one, the new one will only be warranted for 1 year. We still have to pay for the removal of the broken heater and installation of the new one which is very expensive. HTA Plumbing should never have purchased a hot water heater that was sitting at the distributer's warehouse for over 3 years. I am 85 years old and I think HTA just took advantage of my age and lack of knowledge of how the warranty worked. We just bought our home and after getting more settled, the water heater started having problems. First, it was a drip drip from the relief valve, which was plastic. Then, it became a drip drip drip over the next couple of weeks. Not good. We bought a home warranty as part of the home purchase and reached out to the provider to get support. The vendor they sent wasn't helpful, other than to let us know the water heater was not a brand they service (Rheem, which is one of the top brands) and that the plastic fitting should have been brass. We asked our realtor, Powers Real Estate, for a referral. They said HTA Plumbing is the best! We had them come out to diagnose what needed to be done, even though they were not an authorized home warranty vendor. We wanted to get the job done right. HTA sent someone right away, and we learned more about what was going on and needed to be done. They also quoted us a great orice for installation. We contacted our home warranty provider and asked if there was a way to use them for the service. They agreed! My anxiety about using another vendor that AHS was going to send out was resolved. HTA scheduled the appointment for this past Friday, and when I called Thursday morning to ask if they could come sooner because now the water was actively draining, they got Albert out that afternoon! We now have a brand new water heater, and he also installed a water shutoff valve. He and the office team, Heather and Veronica, made this whole ordeal so much better and helped us with this major issue with such professionalism. We highly recommend them for any plumbing needs! I feel that I have had several good experiences with HTA plbing now. I say that because I get the impression they literally are doing what they can to help my wife and I with our current plumbing needs. We are just finishing up with a complete and total kitchen gut and remodel with custom cabinets and high end appliances (Monogram for the 240V Advantium speed oven and Subzero for refrigeration). HTA came out and made sure all of our original shut-off valves were serviceable before the demo and they caught 2 undersink valves that were seized and would have caused some difficulty for us going forward. Not a big job but very helpful plus I got a quote for a new water heater from them while they were out as it was near it's end of life. After quite a few trials and troubles (from other contractors) our kitchen remodel was ending after more than three months and then our gas water heater popped. A little flooding, we caught it early and I made the call to our home warranty. They sent another plumber company out to inspect and it would be a day or two before much happened after that. I did not feel like cold showers for two days so I called HTA. Veronica said they could come out later that same day and replace our water heater! Nice! Veronica then called back saying someone was available immediately to load up a new water heater and come right out to replace. Steven, the plumbing professional came out and replaced our failed water heater right away. He communicated very well, was very neat and tidy, and addressed all of my concerns regarding anode material, wjerher to keep the mixing valve, re-integrating the recirculation pump, and things like that. I strongly urge others to avoid using HTA Plumbing. We hired them to address a plumbing issue at our business, and the experience was nothing short of disturbing. The technician, Ryan Mills, showed up smelling strongly of alcohol, which was already highly unprofessional and concerning. What made it far worse were the inappropriate and uncomfortable sexual comments he made about both my wife and daughter. This crossed every possible line of professionalism and decency. No one should have to tolerate that kind of behavior -- especially from someone entering your place of business or home. To make matters worse, he left a huge mess behind after the job, and within hours, the issue was back -- worse than before. Between the poor workmanship, complete lack of respect, and deeply inappropriate conduct, I would never recommend HTA Plumbing to anyone if they have service technicians like Ryan within their company! read more

Hiring a contractor for your home is like blind trust. HTA Plumbing has earned ours over a couple of jobs now. We don't use them often, but I feel like that's their own fault for being quite good at what they do. This time around, we needed a water heater. We decided to go tankless, and HTA sent out Adam. He was an absolute pro. He took the time to walk me through everything they had done, explained what to expect since we had to get an inspection on the work for permitting, and in a shocking turn of events, stopped by morning of the permit completely unprompted to drop off a cap for the old gas line just in case the gas company needed it. Who does that? Then: the permit process. The gentleman from the city absolutely loved the work. He took time out to tell me how well it was done with "This was really smart the way they did this, do you see this part?" at least 3 times. Within one month the lining was peeling off and they made every excuse as to why it wasn't their fault. We were referred by two friends. Two Kohler push-button flush toilets were installed 4 years ago during the remodel. The one in the master bath had a slow leak. Pono arrived for the job. Said these were different than other toilets. Wax ring installed improperly. He replaced that and the flange and put everything back together. Did a nice job on the caulking at the base, and cleanup. We had a sink clog. They came to clear it. They failed and blamed it on a small part they said was faulty. They told us they would charge to go buy the part and it was easy to install and we should do it ourselves. No sweat we are handy and appreciated the honesty to not waste money. So we took our old part to Ferguson plumbing supply and they said it wasn't broken. We bought a new one anyway because we trusted hta. Replacing the part didn't work so we called them and said that wasn't the problem can you come and snake it to completion this time. Since most plumbers stand behind clog clearing we had them come back and they charged us another $200 plus the extra party they mistakenly had us buy. We wanted them to plumb a whole bathroom remodel but their quote was exactly double 3 different other quotes. I believe this company is money hungry and don't actually care about serving customers. We will never call them again and warning you. I don't usually comment on yelp but was just horrified at the lack of professionalism. Thank you. read more

My water heater decided to explode about a month after the warranty expired. Somehow it felt extra annoying to replace the heater with exactly the same unit again, so I started looking into tankless water heaters. I called a few companies for rough quotes, and the prices for a tankless water heater were coming in between $4-$6k including install. Some companies refused to give prices over the phone and insisted on a $59 service charge to come out to give an estimate. At those prices I guess we were sticking with a regular tank! At that point we ran into our neighbours who told us they used HTA plumbing to install a tankless heater and for a great price (in their case, $2500 all in). We decided to call HTA and scheduled an appointment for an estimate. They sent someone out the very next day. The person who actually came was Howard, the owner. Howard was very friendly and willing to answer all our questions. Between the neighbour's recommendation and our interaction with him we decided to go ahead and book our installation (although in between his visit and our installation were a number of phone calls where we didn't get a call back and had to follow-up with the office staff so you need to be persistent and patient through this part). They came the very next day after we scheduled the install at 7:00am. Note you will need to pay 50% right then and the rest after the job is finished. They do a cash discount, but you would need to pay with actual cash (not cheques). Two guys worked all day (until 5pm), and at the end of it we had a new gas line put in (upgrade from 1/2" to 3/4", new hot water pipes, the new tank, permit fees and old tank removed - good riddance!) So far the heater is working great. For the price and quality of installation delivered, I'd give these guys 5 stars. But be prepared that the followup and office interaction isn't perfect (acceptable to me for what I got.) read more

First of, let me start by saying I'd give HTA a "ZERO STAR" rating if I could. I hired this company to fix the pilot going out on my water heater. The technician was able to turn on the pilot and keep it on within the first 5 minutes of his visit. I paid $110 for that service with no problem. Not 24 hours later, it went out again and they wanted to charge me an additional $110. I was told by Kylee, they would come out and the additional services would be placed on the same ticket. That of course was not the case. Instead of being honest, they made me wait, with babies at home all day long. When I called them back they told me to find someone else to do the job instead of being up front. I immediately escalated the issue with the office manager Bea, who was argumentative and unwilling to listen to my concerns as a customer. I then asked to speak to the owner and he personally would not respond. The following day, the owner (coward) had Bea call me and inform me that he has nothing to say and to find someone else. I mentioned I would write review on yelp and in which Bea replied go ahead and do so and disconnects the call. I understand that I was paying for a service, but I did not agree to pay for an incomplete job and horrendous customer service. Needless to say I will never use them again, and will be a walking billboard making sure residents in this city know who "NOT" to consider for their plumbing needs. read more

This company is the most honest company I have ever hired. Bea, who answers the phone, is an angel. My water heater was failing fast and needed to be replaced ASAP. I had a list of 10 companies to call. They each asked for my serial number and then gave me a quote well over $1,000. For me, this was the last straw in a string of horrible life events this year. I dried my tears and called HTA, the last company on my list. Bea, who answered the phone, asked for my serial number just like all the others. She told me it was my lucky day because it was still under warranty. Not one other company told me that. Because of the warranty, I only had to pay for installation and they were there within 2 hours. I am so grateful to that wonderful company and to Bea ad Dwight. Milo came went into the crawl space and spotted the leak right away .... he told me the it was from the aquatherm unit ...the vibrations had loosened the hose type valve . He recommended a cap from Home Depot ($2.49) incl tax! to make sure it didn't happen again . He looked up the part and left it to me if I wanted to do it . HTA Plumbing has always been great! They are always on top of it. They have saved me several times. Last year they replaced a heating coil in a condo rental of mine. They were very diligent about ordering the coil and replacing it as soon it came in. I recently called them because my tenant thought they saw a leak again and they were out there immediately. Brad the technician checked over everything and he couldn't find anything wrong. He called and explained everything he did in detail and spent quality time with my tenants reassuring them that the heating was fine. They are very honest and Bea is amazing!!! read more

Called these guys up to originally fix my fire sprinklers because they have the license to do so. After dealing with a plumber from a different company the day before who was hustling the crap out of me with an outrageous quote, it was relieving to hear that these guys charge by the hour. So because their guys get paid hourly, i didn't have to worry about an outrageous final bill like those commission plumbers like to throw out. They charge $110 per hour of work done. The first guy Ryan, who specializes in fire sprinklers, was nice and informed me that it wasn't my fire sprinklers but that he would prep the space for an actual plumber, that way i could get the most out of the hour that he was there. He scheduled a plumber to come by the next morning. So Richard (the second plumber) comes in, asks me if i have a ladder and a tarp that he can use. Um... aren't YOU supposed to have those things? Ryan brought all his supplies. Why didn't you? Then when Richard gives me my final bill, he shot out a high number. When i questioned him, he said he charges for drive time to get to my house from the store. I've never heard of that before. When i called the company originally i specifically asked (samantha) about pricing. She never mentioned that i would be charged for "drive time". Thats absurd. You have to drive to get to any job. My job doesn't pay me the time it takes to drive there. Anyways, the 4 stars is for the fact that Samantha recovered by waiving this supposed "drive time" fee. I know Richard mentioned he had been new to the company and he's never worked for a company that pays them hourly. So i don't want to give a bad rating because of the new guy. Samantha was very nice and helpful. Ryan was great. Richard- meh. I could definitely tell he came from a commission company and was used to gouging people. He charged me $80 for parts, which i thought was kinda hiked. The 3x3x2 pipe they replaced sells for around $10. The pipe couplers aren't more then $5 a piece. I would definitely use them again.
