I thought I'd come again, for my 26th and the server did made 6 mistakes on our food and drinks, including failing to adhere to dietary restrictions. I've heard so many ads on the radio about this place and was really excited to go! "Bottomless mimosas with any entree" sign me up!! We should have gone somewhere after the host was rude. She said 20 minute wait but after 30 we asked how much longer and she said "oh I already called you guys" then literally argued with my friend for a few minutes how she's sure she called out "Evelyne" when she asked us "Carolina" she finally says "ok I have a table I'll bring you back now".... Instead of arguing and trying to be right why couldn't she just bring us back? Moving on. Service was slow. Took over 15 minutes for drinks. My horchata was watered down as hell. I asked them to take it back and I didn't want it, instead of asking if there was an issue or if I wanted something else - they literally just took it back no questions asked.... Ok. I ordered bottomless mimosas with my chilaquiles entree, I got 1 the entire two hours we were there LOL what. I even left the empty glass at the edge of the table finished before our food was ever served. Entrees we're served without utensils which added about 5 more minutes of waiting and staring at our food. Other tables next to us complained about the service as well. The food was decent, nothing special. I got sick to my stomach after but no one else in my group did. The service was absolutely terrible. The free chips before your entrees are served we're pretty stale. I didn't see one person smile or trying to be welcoming. Every single person we encountered seemed like they were miserable working here. I don't recommend this brunch spot. It has potential to be something great, but the service is so bad I felt miserable after dining here. Why make awesome radio ads about bottomless mimosas when you give out 1 mimosa only and can't even refill anyones waters!!! Yes, but even waters were not attended to. Watch out for three things: 1. This place does NOT honor the Dining Passport (buy one get one free) unless the manager is there. That is wrong. The wait staff should have te ability to do discounts. 2. The server told us that he could not split credit cards. That was not true, because he ran my credit card twice for the same amount when he realized my Dining Passport was not a credit card. 3. The server mislead us when he asked, "Do you want beans or rice with that" when we ordered our lunch, implying that a side comes with the burrito, when in fact it is an extra $4 charge. Those items aside, the fish burrito (with white sauce on top) and the shrimp burrito as our lunch orders and the complimentary chips with white sauce were very tasty. That is why this review is overall 3 stars, i.e., the food saved it from being worse. read more

I was recommended here by a coworker she said the coffee is a must try. The restaurant is very clean and welcoming Lina took care of my sister and I. Beyond making sure that all our needs were fulfilled and making excellent recommendations, Arian carried an enthusiastic, warm demeanor that truly brightened our entire time there! I ordered the green chilaquiles with house potatoes and bottomless mimosa (additional $10 for bottomless mimosas). The menu options for brunch were good. My friend ordered the shrimp omelet and really liked it. The option for bottomless drinks you get to choose from sangria, mimosas and champagne. Now onto my dish. The green chilaquiles were good! The salsa was not spicy (had to ask for a spicy salsa on the side) so those who don't like spicy good I think it is ok. The house potatoes and the refried beans were good as well. The plate was garnished with a slice of orange and watermelon. Definitely recommend this place for brunch. I've been a very happy customer of Huapangos for a very long time now, and I absolutely LOVE this restaurant. The staff is very friendly, and the owners (JT and Viri) are two of the nicest people you will ever meet. Their food is outstanding! Some of my favorite dishes are the carnitas, lobster quesadilla, ceviche - and their breakfast is outstanding too. We learned that the hard way; we waited an hour and a half for food to come out. To be fair- it was Father's Day and we were waiting for a table at another restaurant when we passed by Huapangos and thought, this is a really cute restaurant, eh it's breakfast-anyone can do that. Disclaimer: I feel bad writing this review, but it keeps coming to my mind how bad the experience was every time Yelp asks for a review. I can only hope this will help for improvement. To start, we were seated right away and were told a high chair would be brought to our table and we never got it. Because it took over 20 minutes for someone to take our drink order, we just left my son sitting in a regular chair. Others were seated and we continued to wait for our drinks as we saw other parties receiving chips and salsa and their drinks. Odd, but again we are very patient. Finally our coffee was brought and the waiter never asked if we'd like cream or sugar. So we went ahead and called him over for some and he then took our order. We waited over 30 minutes for our food and the order was wrong. Being the patient people that we are we just figured they're understaffed and it's a busy day. They took our food back and brought it back and it was still wrong. I tried to eat the chilaquiles with carne asada but the taste was bland and just overall not pleasant. I came here for my 22nd birthday and had a horrible experience. I don't usually leave reviews but we did not get our food until almost 2 hours of being seated despite being some of the only people in the restaurant. We had somewhere to be so we ended up having to get everything to-go and didn't even get the chance to eat together. The only redeeming factor was the cheap bottomless mimosas and our kind server. There was also no communication regarding where our food was and when we could expect to receive what we paid for. Unfortunately, this was the worst birthday restaurant experience i've ever had. Check out Los Panchos around the corner for a much better experience. La Puerta in Mission Hills is also much better for a similar price point. We asked the male waiter if he forgot about us, because he left and brought our chips an hour later then disappeared again, and he replied he had 30 tables to wait on and was super busy.. he was really rude. First of all they weren't that busy and the female waitresses were the only ones that seemed to be working. They get 1 star because the food had potential but too bad it was cold and add the nasty waiter and well you get 1 star. We will never return nor do we recommend this place. We had a couple next to is just leave because they waited so long to even get water. I understand that they are busy but i feel like thats no excuse to not check up on a table.
