This is definitely a locals place! Good food and great service. Small setting with good coffee! We had the special for the day which was a spinach mushroom added sausage omelette and a ham and cheese omelette. We will likely go one more time before we leave town!

The place is located in a small town, it looks like their downtown area. The build sits almost on the corner but not quite. It has a big roaster on top of their building so you can't miss them. We order breakfast to go. When walking in you go through two doors and you enter a cozy establishment, looks like someone home. They have around 6-7 tables and the kitchen is in the back. The waitress was really sweet and had my order ready to go. The food was ok, the grits needed some more love and the pancakes was ok not bad just ok. My eggs and bacon was good. Cup of to go orange juice can be a little bit bigger, other then that it was a nice experience to try this little place out.

I have been here a handful of times now and I love it so far. The staff and owner are super nice, attentive and funny. It has always seemed like I was at a family member's house for dinner not a restaurant. The restaurant is clean with a charming decor of Notre Dame and poor Michigan. It is a small but quaint place and the quality of the product shows. The food is fresh, tasty and no bad in price. In the times I've been there, I've had a variety of food. The best so far is I believe Saturday and Sundays steak and egg breakfast for $9.95. I have also had or tried the lasagna, fish, hamburger and the biscuits and gravy. All have been great. Try this place out, I totally recommend.

Cute homey place for a cheap breakfast! We enjoyed all of our food, great customer service, great atmosphere! The only complaint was that the hashbrowns were a little greasy, but my French toast was great! Good came out fast and was warm! We will definitely come back, it was a great place to check out!

Delicious breakfast of the most perfect basted eggs I have ever had the pleasure to have and bacon perfectly crisp John is the cook and Sam, our waitress, wasn't kidding when she said "John bastes them really well, he does a really good job with them" The coffee was very, very goodthe service was fast and friendly the bathroom clean. Mr Shoe loved the chili and Pattie melt. Just look for the rooster! ‍They don't disappoint!

The menu has so many interesting and tasty options that it makes it hard to choose what to order first. I got the steak bowl, which comes with an egg and plenty of sautéed peppers, onions and potatoes. Highly recommend. Even the drink options are exciting. Locally made cherry limeade?! Yes please! The ambiance is warm and welcoming, the staff is friendly. Even though you are in the middle of an open-concept business collective, the layout of the restaurant space makes you feel like you are in someone's giant, awesome home kitchen and you can watch as your meal is made. It took me a moment to put my finger on it, but this place gives you the reassurance that your meal is being made by people who enjoy good food. As someone who loves to cook and is on the tail end of a road trip, this was the most relaxed and enjoyable meal I've had in a while. I enjoyed it on so many levels. The restaurant is tucked away inside of a bigger collective of stores, one of which is Dad's Farm, a little grocery with a nice collection of packaged and frozen locally sourced foods. There are other shops in the collective including a coffee shop, brewery, cheese shop, wine shop, and gift shop with great art, cards, jewelry and other clever gifts. It's a nice group of shops where you can pick up some great souvenirs. A quick note about the entrance to the collective: it was not obvious to me, though I might have missed some signage. I was looking at the map on my phone, was on Pleasant St, and passed by the whole thing several times. I almost gave up trying to find it, but I could smell good food, so I finally took a chance on a tinted door near a coffee shop and was happily surprised to find I was in the right spot for Dad's Cafe as well. Give Dad's Farm and Cafe a try, I think you'll really enjoy it!

Or, I did. This person must really need 50 cents badly to actually ignore a customer and to refuse a refund. Your business will not last if you do not have the management skills to back up cooking skills. And this is a small area. When a customer asks you why you charged them something, they are not just asking. It is theft. I expect an answer when I ask that question. My receipt clearly shows a custom charge of 50 cents, for a side of sauce that I did not receive. It was actually supposed to be a dollar because I ordered 2 sides. I sent a message and was told that I was not charged, end of reply. I replied that I was. Instead of sending a refund, they sent me a copy of the current receipt that clearly shows a 50 cent custom charge on it. I am not the blind one here. I messaged again asking what the charge was for, if not for the sauce. No reply. I am also tired of tipping on takeout just to have no one check the orders and for it to go out wrong, no more. What is the tip for? It was 2 items, juice, and some sauce, not hard to get right. Tip in cash only if your order is correct. A normal response would also be to apologize for getting the order wrong to begin with. I have not received another response or a refund so I take it that they feel entitled to take money for items not given. It is not about the amount of money, just the audacity and bad business practices. Shameful behavior. There is nothing special about the menu here so something better will eventually take its place.

It's a lovely place for a restaurant and we've been able to find comfortable seating for a large group. We visited on Black Friday and had a nice experience! Our server was attentive and fast, drinks were handled very well with everyone getting different coffees, teas, etc. and we were all ordered with the food out within 15 minutes. One dish was delayed but the rest came out on time. The food is pretty standard for an American brunch spot- it's 4/5 stars when it comes to seasoning/quality in my opinion, and comes at a higher price point- but I think you're paying for the view which makes sense! The windows over the water are beautiful and the decor is cozy and comfortable. So all in all, this is a great choice of a spot for a date night or family meal. The menu has all of your standard brunch options- a Benedict, pancakes, several omelettes, a classic breakfast, a hash, etc. I ordered the garden omelette and it left a little to be desired- potatoes weren't all the way cooked/ sat in a lot of oil, eggs were well cooked but the veggies were cut in large chunks/on the more raw side. This is what I meant about being 4/5 stars. Large portion sizes though, and something for everyone on the menu. The pizzas and sandwiches always look really good! And there's an extensive drink menu as well as a holiday drink menu. I imagine this place would be amazing in the summer when Benton Harbor comes alive but it's charming in the colder months as well. We will keep coming back when we're in town visiting family!
