Took my first bite of the breakfast sandwich. Meh, it was alright and same with the hash browns.

Better off cooking at home. The staff was super down to earth and friendly from the start. However, great service does not equal a great product. My breakfast sandwich and hash browns were ok at best but also lacked some flavor too. Great place to hang out with friends but so is any parking lot.

Took a few moments to get seated while staff was walking around. The ambiance has a very nostalgic and quaint feeling. Seating was a little worn but comfy. My allergies were accommodated. The food was good and home made. The Reese's pie was off the chart phenomenal.

Tamales.. They are not small so order with caution

Sundays are for the Lord and a good breakfast! I love that Hubbard's offers tamales -- such a fun and unique breakfast option. The service is always friendly, and the Cracker Barrel-style décor with vintage signs and old-fashioned marketing touches makes it feel cozy and welcoming. Everything is always clean, and prices are very reasonable. I recommend trying the Tamales, especially the jalapeño and poblano -- so flavorful! The red pork was good, just not my personal favorite. Overall, a warm, inviting spot that's perfect for a Sunday morning.

    Dinner roll or biscuit?
    Benjamin M.

To start the waitress and front staff were great. Nice, friendly and very accommodating. That being said the only good thing was the coffee. Brother ordered the chicken and waffles. Well it's chicken and half cooked single waffle, my breakfast sandwich with crispy bacon was a lettuce sandwich with soggy bacon. Well ordered biscuits and gravy which we thought was expensive but wanted to try it and got a single dinner roll. When we told the waitress we ordered the biscuit we were told that was a biscuit. I let her know it doesn't look or taste like a biscuit but a dinner roll and was told that they get that a lot and everyone thinks they are dinner rolls after ordering it, but it's a biscuit. If everyone thinks it's a dinner roll and you are the only ones calling it a biscuit probably should tell you something. This seems like an old person place where taste doesn't matter and it's more nostalgic for them. To each their own. I wish this place the best in the future but we won't be coming back.

I have seen this place for awhile now, but never eaten here. Today I was in the area and decided to give them a try. I loved the retro decor in the place. From an old cigar shop wooden Indian statue to airplanes hanging from the ceiling and vintage signs on the walls, it created a cool vibe in the place. Our service was really good. There was also good teamwork among the server staff as far as helping each other and attending to the customers. We ordered the Chicken Salad Sandwich lunch special with French fries. We also ordered a Waffle breakfast which included of course a waffle and 2 eggs, and bacon. The chicken salad was decent, not great. Honestly, I was a little disappointed in it. The breakfast was better. The eggs were cooked to a perfect over-medium. The bacon was good quality and thick cut and crispy. The waffle itself was light and fluffy and not overcooked like so many places do. I think the syrup could have been better. So overall, the experience breaks down like this: Cool ambiance, really good service, and food that I really feel was nothing overly special and with some adjustments could rise up to the rest of the experience.

    Sausage Omelette with pan potatoes

My mom and I ventured in on a Saturday morning at 11am. The place was packed which was expected. Our waitress was attentive and nice. The iced tea was absolutely terrible. We had to send both our glasses back for another beverage. The omelette was pretty good. The pan potatoes in the other hand lacked flavor and had zero seasoning. Texture was great just was bland. The biscuit and rolls were cold and no butter to be found. My mom said the chicken fried chicken was good but the gravy was bland and adding pepper didn't help. Was hoping for a better experience but this was a tried once and done.

The food is always great, the mimosas always strong, and the service almost always perfect. The menu is full of delicious dishes and I think the banana bread is heavenly (when they aren't sold out).

Good for groups, good for hungry glutons! Beer, wine, frozen Margaritas, and other cocktail drinks for legal adults. American, Country American, Tex-Mex dishes & Desserts. Great variety on the menu, big portions, good pricing. The rustic setting with plenty of antique decor on the walls up to the ceiling give an old country store feeling. You appetite actually increases as you drive toward Hubbard's. Scoot over, your belly will take the wheel!

We have been coming to Hubbard's for years. Mainly the Garland location but they are now permanently closed at that location. Food was always good and loved the decor there. Tried the Rowlett location several times including this past Saturday. We got seated at 11:01 am however did not get our food until 11:25 am. Almost got up and left however we saw the waitress bringing the food. I ordered Chicken fried steak and eggs with a biscuit & gravy. I have had the Chicken fried steak before and it was good. But this time the gravy taste like it had bacon grease in it and the food was very salty. And the gravy was not white either. Probably won't go there again for Chicken fried steak.

the servers are awesome. that means if you are not beautiful, there is a very slim chance to get hired there.

Sammy Lou's was the best. My brother and I went to dinner for his birthday. From the minute we…read moresat down everything was amazing. It started with Lay our server. She was very attentive and gave us good menu recommendation. The restaurant was spacious, clean and had a good vibe. The food was delicious. We had the meatloaf and smoked pulled pork with onion rings, cole slaw, mashed potatoes and baked beans. I can't wait to go back. It's even more awesome, that it's in the neighborhood close to home. I highly recommend the restaurant and server Lay to make your dining expense unforgettable.

Super friendly welcome from the wait staff and it turned out the owner was working too. Great conversation. Started with the armadillo eggs which are deep fried Jalapeños stuffed with cream cheese and served with ranch. These things are a weakness of mine and I ate the entire order. Next had a two meat platter with brisket and jalapeño cheese sausage. Sides were fried okra and broccoli. They have their fried food game down. Okra was hot and crispy and well seasoned. Delicious. The broccoli tasted like homemade steamed broccoli and was the exact texture I like. My brisket was super tender and tasty and the sausage was satisfying. I used the spicy sauce which gave everything a kick. Finished with the banana pudding with nilla wafers. Stuffed! Delicious meal and so friendly - I'll be back maybe for when they have live music on a weekend.

Our waitress greeted us as she was busy running around but still said good morning and that she would be with us soon. When she came back she brought waters for us and took our drink order. Our food was excellent!! We ate every single bite. We ordered the chicken fried chicken and I ordered some eggs, a bagel, sausage, and hashbrowns. We are very pleased with the speed of the service as well as the quality of the food! The cooks do a great job! And the waiters I can tell work very hard to take care of customers and the bus boys are also hustling to clear tables as fast as possible. It was all so great! I feel bad we forgot the name of our waitress but she was excellent! She was very attentive and I noticed she was talking to other customers as well and making them smile :) we will definitely be back here again in the near future!

The place is nice inside with a lot of tables and a full bar for cocktails. There were not many options for cold coffee and the bartender attempted to make an iced americano which wasn't great and forgot to bring any type of sweetener for it. I ordered the chicken fried steak with hash browns and two over easy eggs. The chicken fried steak needed more seasoning for me but it did have a tang to it. Not sure if it's from the marinade but the tangy flavor was there. The hash browns were nice and crispy and eggs cooked perfectly. What saved the chicken fried steak was the bottle of hot sauce they had at the bar. It was not labeled so hard to tell what exactly it was but it was delicious. We also ordered biscuits and a side of gravy and I felt like that should be on the menu as a dish. The biscuits were nice and soft and the gravy had a lot of flavor. I'd definitely like to come back and try some of the sweeter options such as waffles or pancakes. If you are in the Rockwall area check this place out
