On our way to Cooperstown, the family got hungry and we stumbled onto this great town of Middleburgh. Hubie's happened to be the first place that could seat us and how lucky we were that we wandered in. I had a great seafood marinara dish with perfectly cooked linguine. The seafood helping was generous. Scallops were tender, but not chewy. Mussels were on the smaller side, but all clean and cooked open. The family had stromboli, eggplant parmigiana, ravioli, and a grilled chicken sandwich with fries. Everyone was happy with their dish. For dessert, the chocolate lava cake with vanilla ice cream and a super helping of whipped cream was a hit. Nicolle provided excellent service, even though it was close to closing time. Since moving to upstate New York from New Jersey, I've been on the lookout for good pizza and I'm thankful to have found Hubie's. They've been on the mark every time and the pizza is worth the 20 minute drive! The pizza is thin, how I like it, and I have only been able to find thicker crust pizza in Cobleskill. It's not dry or too doughy- it's just right. I'm not too picky when it comes to my pizza but I rave about Hubie's to my friends. I'm definitely looking forward to my next trip and can't wait to try other menu items. read more

Came here twice on our stay in town. Once was for pizza during their Friday night street fair. Had to wait over an hour for an average pie. Stopped in Saturday night for dinner and so glad we did! We were seated immediately by a very friendly server. We ordered mozzarella sticks, garlic knots chicken parm and mussels with linguine alfredo (which they custom made for my boyfriend). The food was absolutely amazing. Ok, so most anyone I ever met who grew up in NYC (or Naples for that matter) and loves pizza, can't help being particular about how this food group should crunch, look, smell and eat. I'm not a style maven for pizza, but I know how I prefer it. Mine should start with good dough stretched into a thin crust, baked crispy, dressed with a fine lacquer of freshly made, well seasoned tomato sauce, restrained use of good quality mozzarella - so that when baked it doesn't separate and leave an oil slick on the pie, with some dried oregano and pecorino baked in. No extra doodads on the pie please. And I don't need a brick or coal or wood burning oven to make me feel artisanal or authentic -- a standard 600 degree pizza oven does the trick just fine so long as the baker knows the oven and their craft. Hubies does not do pizza my way, which is fine because our kids love it -- which is the principal reason for stopping to eat here while in town. It is more of what you would expect from a typical neighborhood pizza parlor in New Jersey. Thicker crust, a bit heavy on the sauce, cheese and oil -- makes the pie soggy -- but the flavors are honest. I like their calzones better -- chock full of cheese and whatever flavorings you like, and their burgers are righteous . But what I really enjoy at Hubies is their buffalo wings - something that was invented in central NYS. They are Killer! It is an added plus that we get in and out of here with a stick-to-your-ribs meal for four for $50 bucks -- so it is a bargain all day long too. The Middleburgh scene is pleasant; the ambience is hickster-ish and the owners/servers always wear that genuine, upstate warmness on their sleeve. Sitting on the sidewalk on a nice day with our doggie while getting all into the hot sauce and the wings and the blue cheese and a cold one . . . mmmm good. read more

A very nice young couple own this building and from what I heard they have other buildings in town, their prices are very good and they're always crowded which tells you the food must be great too. They keep the outside of their store in the spring and summer beautifully done with flowers very artistic. I personally don't like to eat in places that I know have been flooded out numerous times, you can clean and clean but it never goes away. They have lots of friends who support them and they do have a thriving business going. Not many tables inside, but designed nice. If you're in the area give them a try at least get a pizza a lot cheaper than across the street and better. read more

Myself and my friends were heading back to Albany after playing golf at Hanah Mountain resort. We were hungry and decided we would stop in Middleburgh. We decided on Hubie's and we were all glad we did. We did not have reservations on a Friday but we were seated promptly. Dining room is nice and pleasant. We got meatball subs, burger and salad and chicken sandwich. We did not get pizza even though pizza is one of their specialties. They have lots of good beer choices which for 4 golfers is a must lol. Our waitress, Nicolle (with 2 L's) was great. She was attentive and friendly with a great personality. So if you are the area and looking for a nice place to eat, stop at Hubie's. We love ,love Hubie's .We have been coming here since 2009 ,when we moved to Upstate New York. My husband served in the US Navy and we have lived in several states. The atmosphere is amazing, the staff wonderful .When Hurricane Irene had hit MIddleburgh I thought for sure Hubie's would be gone for sure like many of the small business there but no they reopened quickly and made sure everybody had food. I'll tell you a little story about Hubie's. The first time I came in here with my folks the fellow working the counter was on the phone taking an order for a pizza delivery. He had to ask his manager if they delivered to Ballston Spa...BALLSTON SPA? we wondered, that's like an hour away from here! Well, after trying the pizza at Hubie's it's no wonder people just can't do with their local joint. The pizza at Hubie's is absolutely exceptional. We recently ordered four different pies for a get together and each one was quite nice in its own way. The BBQ Chicken pizza was absolutely magnificent, the pepperoni and Buffalo chicken were also delightful, while the veggie white pizza was just OK. Hubie's is the go to place for pizza in the area, and by "area" I mean most of upstate New York! I've also eaten in once and they have a pretty full Italian style menu and the waitstaff was friendly and efficient. The only problem is their rather European style hours of operation, or shall I say "non-operation," which can include long hiatuses especially around holiday periods. read more

Most of the reviews about the pizza being great are from people who have never had real NYC pizza (seriously, what does California know about pizza?!), and those that have had real NYC pizza don't like Hubie's pizza. It's not stellar. It's pizza in Middleburg, NY. There's too much garlic and the sauce is a little too sweet and thick. That said, it's the best pizza you'll find in Schoharie County, and probably Greene too. Comparing it to NYC pizza just isn't fair. My daughter is 5 and gets the pizza there every time. I try to get other things. Love, love, love the homemade salad dressings, particularly the blue cheese. Best paired with the wings, which are the best wings I've had in my 40 years of existence. I get them probably twice a week and have not once been disappointed. Sometimes the pasta dishes are a little dry, but the burgers and sandwiches are always spot on. Husband said the prime rib special was gross. We don't eat seafood either so no comment on that. All in all, a great place to go, family friendly, clean, and totally worth the $50-ish dollar meal. read more

I walked in and was immediately blown away by the decor and atmosphere of this place. Walking through the dining room, I noticed how small the booths are. The men's restroom was the smallest restroom I had ever encountered. It was about 4 feet by 2.5 feet. The pizzas are decently priced, but the white pizza I ordered; meh. The broccoli was hardly cooked, it was crunchy as hell, and the crust had a strange flavor to it. But I have to say, the wait staff was very friendly. Play decent music too. read more

We opted to eat outside. Sidewalk needed sweeping, flies. We have eaten here whenever we come up and it is at best a hit or miss situation. Back in July it was definitely a major "MISS". 7 of us for dinner and we all left our food. Okay, back to now. We ordered our meals and the steak was great. My Alfredo was good, sauce creamy and light. Flies continued to annoy and finally one did land in my plate. Called waitress and was tole "Oh! okay". She took the plate not even asking if I would like something else? But asked if I would like this "To Go". A fly and you ask if "You'd like this to go"?? Who eats bugs? I fully understand the that no one can control the flies, however something could be done (like yard guard) every so often to lessen the attacks.
