Great family restaurant that we stumbled into. The fettuccine alfredo was very good. I got a mushroom spaghetti that was good ... the sauce was a nice blend of marina with whole parts of tomatoes. The portion size was plenty and not over the top. I thought that it was funny that they take reservations when the place wasn't that crowded to begin with. We got garlic bread that was well done. They also give you a lot of crusty bread, so if you also get the garlic bread ... watch out! My only issue was that the house salad had too much dressing on it. Delicious Baked Zit Siciliana. A perfect dish. Very good service. They give you a bread basket with regular homemade Italian bread and focaccia and it's an excellent start. The stuffed chicken rolatini could have been less greasy. For some reason this got my partner sick that night. It was so greasy it triggered his gallbladder. Maybe it was the amount of oil, or the quality that you can see in the photo, but it was simply too much. The chicken and the stuffing were excellent and generously served, but there could be a little bit more attention to making this a tighter healthier dish. I was there Wednesday and they had one full server maybe a bartender helping and the helper, normally I would say busser but he did more than clear tables. Slower service but not unreasonable. Ala Vodka had a strange flavor and what we believed to be either ham or spam in it, not good. Veal bolognese had a sour smell the second it was placed on the table and was literally uneatable. This restaurant (3 Stars) has low acoustic ceilings helping to reduce noise. Lighting and temperature helped with a comfortable eating experience. The 80% cooked chop that had an uncooked section left me a bit disappointed. Everything else being good I commented to the waitress but nothing was done nor was she interested. Really Good Food!!! *A Local Gem* We've been looking for a good restaurant since moving to the area and were relieved to find this place. We ordered a large takeout order of Minestrone soup, Fried Calamari, Penne alla vodka, Stromboli, and chocolate cake and it was mostly really good! The fried calamari was a little dry and bland but everything else was very good. The chocolate cake specifically was just delicious...10/10 recommend the cake. In addition to everything (aside from the calamari) being really good it was finished very quickly too. And as if that weren't enough, this place is very fairly priced - our large takeout order was under $50 with a tip!! Passing through Middleburgh, we grabbed a couple of their stuffed eggplant dinners with angel hair pasta with plenty of marinara. They came with nice green salads and a hunk of good bread and lots of butter (packed separately to keep the heat from the latter - very thoughtful). Don't know what happened. We had maybe six great meals there and the last time it was awful. Baked clams seem to have been microwaved with a nasty pink gritty sauce. Sent them back. Then the ribs came out with the same nasty pink sauce and the ribs were cold. Sent them back too. Too many good places around to waste any more time on this mess. They have a thriving business people from all over go there to eat Italian food. They rent the Building so they have no money in the game of business.I think they're Pizza is expensive just average along with all their Italian food.Owners of the pizza place sometimes the woman is really nasty, that's what their help say. Service is very slow because they can't keep help. The food business is a hard business trying to please everyone. I only gave it two stars because every time I went there I got very sick almost like food poisoning, maybe the food was just too heavy for my stomach I don't know, but I don't go there anymore. They try to keep the place very clean inside and neat outside the kitchen is not desirable they really need some new appliances. We've been coming here for lunch and dinner a few times per month over the past two years and figured that it's time for an update, offering up one more star to the crew here at MVP&G for consistency, service, and superior Italian food here in the agricultural belt of NY state. The linguini with White Clam Sauce is superb, loaded with clams...in and out of the shell, garlic, olive oil, fresh parsley...and a generous portion to boot. The eggplant parm, stuffed or layered, are both outstanding. Their house marinara is fresh tasting, has good body, and tasting like tomato and not like some generic dried herbs. Stuffed clams, fried calamari both equally great are a nice way to start. The pizza crust is just right, not too thick or thin, and can dress it up however we want. We've repeatedly had the pesto pie and white with broccoli. The kitchen is very flexible with toppings so if you don't see what you want, just ask. Angela and the FOH staff are professional, prompt, and attentive. The BOH definitely has their act together. The prices are fair for this level of flavor and expertise, and will not break you that's for sure. They serve wine and beer, too, if that's your bag. What they're offering here is as good as what you'll find downstate in Manhattan, Hoboken, Jersey City...my home base where Italian restaurants are a dime a dozen, and great ones are easy to find. We're lucky to have a place like this waaaaay up here in Middleburgh. If you're up here, don't pass up a trip to this joint. read more

Attempted to try this place for the first time tonight, big mistake. We stepped in and waited to be seated. There were more empty tables than occupied with about 6 employees visible in the restaurant. Each of them looked at us at one time or another, but we were ignored. Another party came in behind us and waited to be seated as well. At that point the male server looked over and said "sorry, we'll be right with you", which we appreciated. A young lady came over and asked if we had reservations and asked the party behind us the same. All said "no". She walked away, said something to an older lady and looked over at us. The older lady who was short physically AND socially said "no reservations?" to which we all, again, responded "no", to which she replied "I have nothing". We weren't sure if she meant she had no available tables or what. She then began to rant about their fryer being broken so they have nothing fried and "what can I do about it?". She then walked away. The party behind us left, as we should have. She yelled over from across the restaurant, "you two can sit right there" and gestured to the table right in front of the door. We reluctantly sat as the older lady brought two placemats and napkins, and yelled to the young lady "there's no silverware on this table". The young lady brought two forks and said "I have to wait for some knives to come out of the kitchen". Are you kidding?? She came back with menus and we told her that we were just going to go somewhere else, to which she offered a shocked look. This place was not busy. The tables they did have were 2 and 3 person parties. However, every employee looked overwhelmed and irritated. This place is obviously not managed well if their employees can't handle an uncrowded restaurant on a Thursday night. Never again. Don't waste your time. read more

Last night was my first time in Middleburgh as I was attending a wake. My friend suggested we eat there. I had a great veal,mushrooms and penne dish as my friend had a chicken Francese. I had mentioned to her that I was going up that way for a four day weekend with my friends and she recommended that we go there for dinner and see Angela as my co-worker had mentioned her, and for me to say hello to her. EVERY time we try to call and place an order here the phone is busy. It takes well over an hour to get through like they keep the phone off the hook. If I can give ZERO stars I would. I have to agree with the less than stellar reviews. I have tried to love this place but the food is never consistent. Pizza is ok and so far the only thing they haven't messed up but it will never compare to NYC pizza. I have given Middle Village Pasta & Grill many opportunities to change my mind, since 2015, however, it's just gotten worst. I ordered grilled chicken for my pasta which is an additional charge and what was served to me was bland colorless unseasoned boiled thin chicken. I ordered the same dish a week prior and my chicken was grilled, What happened this time? The lasagna needs to be on the menu as meatless lasagna noodle only. The amount of meat in my lasagna was less than a teaspoonful. The food is never seasoned properly a little more salt will go along way. The calamari are rubbery and not consistent, I've had better in previous visits. The garlic knots are what I can only imaging as pizza dough made into knots and garlic only added when served as the flavors are not embedded in the knot. Phone etiquette is nonexistent. The only time I've called and not been spoken to like a child is when the gentleman answers calls and takes the orders. I could only imagine that this eatery doesn't need or care about their customers' negative reviews, as they have not made any adjustments and have just gotten worst. read more

Have heard the food can be good as long as it is not pizza, do not ever order it, it is bland and flavorless, you would do better buying bread and a can of tomato sauce with no salt throwing it on the bread and putting some mozzarella on and baking it... it's the same thing as the pizza you get here. I have been here several times especially when I visit my children at college. I love their baked clams and especially love the linguine white clam sauce. This restaurant rates just as good as some of the restaurants downstate. The service is always good and everyone is always nice. You cant beat the portions and the prices are amazing. Our server took a very long time to give us our check but other then that, the food was good however my friend ordered a seafood entre that said it would have scampi sauce but it came out as breaded with no sauce. I was there last Saturday with my mother. We went to see the craft and pie event. My mother ordered a cheeseburger. I ordered penne alla vodka with a salad with blue cheese dressing. The house bread was good and warm. The salad I ordered was house with blue cheese, I have never had a more salty salad. My order was penne alla vodka it was not a cream sauce and also was very salty. I took mine to go I did not comment to not upset my mother and threw it out as inedible. I am from downstate and have worked in many restaurants. I will revisit to try another dish but this is not a 4.6 star Italian restaurant. 2 stars for too salty and really bad sauce. They special ordered a meal for her and it was okay, but for 11.00 dollars we would have been better off not getting anything since everyone knows kids rarely eat their meals. We ordered a pizzette, a personal pizza which was excellent, steak hoagie that was very good and spaghetti and meatballs. The meatballs were very moist and the spaghetti was al dente.
