Nice little restaurant, tucked away in a new area developing in Sachse. Was a quick easy drive from Garland in the Firewheel area. Went during the day for a late breakfast early lunch. The look inside was nice, had some character and didn't look like a brand new squeaky clean restaurant. We sat in an area that had a tin roof. Made it feel cozy but I could not get cell reception under the tin roof. Lol I ordered the Tom's Scramble. It came with two biscuits, a small-ish chicken fried steak on top of the biscuits then scrambled eggs and then topped off cream gravy. Also came with potatoes. Chicken fried steak and gravy was good. Thought I would like gravy on my eggs but prefer it on my CFS only. lol. It's still tasted pretty good though. The biscuits were kind of odd. Not traditional biscuits. They were flat and heavy and look like they had been sautéed with butter and a little spice added. The potatoes were good, but they were too salty for both of us. Overall the meal was very good and we will definitely go back. I would easily order the same thing again, but ask for all of the gravy on the side. Food was ample. When I saw the flyer for this restaurant, I got so excited ! I couldn't wait to experience some good Cajun cuisine. My daughter was arriving from out of state and I couldn't wait for us to have lunch together at Huckleberry's. The restaurant was clean, nice crowd, and we had a great server, Lizzie, who was knowledgeable, efficient, and friendly. My daughter ordered the crab benedict , I ordered the New Orleans ( a concoction of sautéed peppers, shrimp, sausage in red sauce over sliced stovetop sliced potatoes and strawberry lemonade. The lemonade was a little tart for me and I love tart. Crab Benedict could have used more seasoning. It was a little bland. The New Orleans had no shrimp. It was such a disappointment. We'd been planning to eat there for a week. For clarification on taste of Cajun food, we lived in Louisiana for 2 years, and visit frequently. We're foodies who enjoy a good meal. Our experience here wasn't the best. The servers seemed to be surprised by some of our simple requests. They don't offer freshly squeezed OJ and when my husband ordered it anyway, the server brought it out with ice. It was completely watered down and we were confused about why they would bring it out iced. They were also surprised when I asked for fresh cream for my coffee. The worst part was when we later realized we were overcharged. The waitress suggested we get the beignets so we ordered some. Went for brunch with my friend. She ordered the Eggs Benedict and I got the Mississippi skillet. The food was okay overall, nothing special. We also ordered caramel macchiato, but they were way too sweet. The decor is really nice, which I appreciated. However, the service was disappointing. Our waitress basically ignored me the entire time, she only spoke to my friend, asked her if she needed anything, and even said "have a good day" while turning her back toward me. It was our first time here and the staff was nice and friendly with a good amount of seating and some Louisiana/cajun decor. I ordered the Tom's Scramble with a home made biscuit with scrambled eggs and chicken fried steak topped with gravy with a side of hash browns. The biscuit was good with a garlic herb seasoning and the chicken fried steak was seasoned well with a good crunch. The eggs were cooked nicely also and while the hash browns were crispy, they lacked seasoning. The Banana fosters French toast was also very good. I really enjoyed the atmosphere of the restaurant! Once you walk in and get seated, you're immediately transported to the Bayou! The music and the decorations really capture that feeling of being in Cajun country! I've driven by this place a few times and noticed that on weekends that this place is packed with small crowds of people waiting. I luckily went in on a Monday morning where there were far less people! We got seated immediately. The service was excellent! The hosts hold the door open for you as you are walking up to the restaurant. Very welcoming and kind staff. We also had a great server who was very attentive and helpful throughout our dining experience. The food was great! Fried green tomatoes were cooked perfectly with the crisp and Cajun ranch went well with it. The catfish lunch was juicy and flavorful. I wasn't a huge fan of the Bayou sauce. It just basically tasted like a warm salsa which I really didn't care for. I enjoyed this place and i would come back and try more of the brunch options. Fun kitschy Cajun atmosphere. The welcome from literally everyone was amazing. It was clear that their customer service training was extensive. Knowing they were coming to Sachse, we tried another location in NOCAL while there for a family wedding. The Sacrifice location was a much better experience (not that the CA location was bad, this was just better). I had an omelette and my husband had a special and both were great. The manager was eager to hear feedback and genuinely appreciative when we gave it. The feedback was minor considering it was opening day (the melon was not ripe and the beignets needed about 30 seconds more in the fryer). You could not ask for better service. We went for brunch on a Friday morning, and were greeted and sat immediately. We got fresh hot coffee but they had a lot of fun coffee drinks and morning cocktails to choose from as well. I ordered the crab cake Benedict and my guy ordered stacked chicken and waffles. Both came out in about ten minute and looked amazing; however, both were a little bland. The hollandaise was really lacking flavor and the chicken was too. The crab cake was good and the waffle fluffy and fresh. The red potatoes w/onions and peppers were great. First time here, and excited at the menu and good reviews. It was busy on a Sunday morning but our group of 3 were seated within 10 minutes. After we placed our order, our beignets took about 20 minutes to arrive. The beignets were really good! We waited another 15 minutes (35-ish total) waiting on our entrees while neighboring tables who arrived after us were served 10-15 minutes before us. Server forgot our waters several times after reminding him. Our server came out and asked if we had eaten all our food, and we reminded him we had not received our food yet. The manager came out and said our food should be ready in about 2 more minutes, which it did. We had chicken & waffles, bananas foster waffles, and avocado/shrimp omelette with huckleberry muffin. The fried chicken was not good but the waffles were good. Bananas foster arrived at room temperature and the omelet was piping hot. Bananas foster was ok as was the omelet. I'd guess they forgot or messed up our order which delayed our service. My wife asked to speak to the manager and was told he 'just left' but they would offer a free appetizer for our next visit. No thanks. Overall, menu looks good, food is inconsistent for taste, and service was really off for our visit. Hopefully they get better as they get more established, but I can't say we'll be back to see. read more

The service was horrible we weren't checked on and when the waitress finally came she basically made it loud and clear to everyone when I explained there was vegetables in my strawberry lemonade and didn't receive my complete order. Ok.. as usual, I give honest and subjective reviews. Hopefully to inform potential diners and to give constructive criticisms of the establishment. This place was the epitome of friendly and welcoming, from the first greeter to the manager and staff ( though it was almost too much , kind of over the top, but not a bad thing . It's a shame it's in a strip center because the Mississippi theme, is a bit contrived. What was most annoying was the volume of noise, the high Ceilings reverberate the voices; some of the staff were very loud talking and laughing.. and the server had to speak very loudly to get out order; it was annoying and distracting for breakfast. The manager introduced himself; very friendly . The menu is pretty extensive; Cajun oriented selections etc . Large portions $16-18 prices; We shared an omelette and potatoes which were very good; came with a huge blueberry muffin; looked great, but was very dry; we left it. My wife ordered the Beignets, large and delicious looking , but she found them too cake-like and not light and fluffy .. plus, the fruit dipping sauces were obviously frozen and not home made ... Anyway, kudos for great effort and friendliness and good food and service; I'd just recommend toning it down and stop all the loud banter and try to dampen the sound, and work on the baked products some. read more

I had been awaiting Huckleberry's Sachse to open based upon the rep they've established at its Arlington location. I stopped in on a Saturday morning, and I was not disappointed. Great service, great food. The portions are HUGE! The waitress told me that I was her first customer to finish the Mississippi skillet without asking for a to-go box. Breakfast Service was impeccable as was the coffee. Wife had the New Orleans with egg whites (sans cheese) that was delicious however the side of potatoes were cold. I had the crab cakes with hollandaise sauce and cold potatoes as well. Crab cakes were disappointing as they were mostly stuffing and very little crab. Food seemed to take a long time to arrive and which may account for the potatoes being cold upon arrival. Breakfast for two also seemed pricey for nearly $50.00 including 20% tip. May try another time for lunch but there are other choices that will be made first. read more

The fried green tomato is the star of this dish and it was thin and too much breading. They gave this mound of skillet potatoes that were dry, not good. Oh and we started with the Beignets and they were greasy and doughy. We did not eat them. A waste. My spouse had the Mississippi and it did Not look like the picture in the menu. This review is for transparency and if you choose to patronize don't say I didn't warn you. I recommended this food spot to a few friends. In doing so I found out that there maybe a problem with the staff meaning the service provided by the server. We visited Huckleberry in Sasche Texas on May 2, 2026. On this day there was not a huge crowd as we may have missed the rush. Everything was fine until we met our server whom is not worth me putting his/her name on display. I just hope that individual will soul search and have a change of heart where prejudice or racism doesn't exist and kindness gets you better tips. So we were seated and our server was just plain bad. I do give benefit of doubt that maybe this person was having a bad day like the service he/she provided. Again we were seated almost immediately and our server came to our table to take our order. The food wait wasn't that long either and it was hot and delicious. The problem we had was the server was not personable and once we received our food the server became invisible and just disappeared. My drink came out incomplete compared to what the menu has advertised. I couldn't find the server to address it so I kept it and consumed it along with my meal. We went through our entire meal without seeing the server until he/she magically appeared with the bill for payment. I did leave a monetary tip although it was not as much as it could have been had we received good service. Honestly it just felt like the server was not to keen on serving us. So I spoke with the friends I recommended and we are all Black Americans. These friends told me that they received the same treatment if not worse. Hopefully they will do a review for exposure and clarity. However the he/she that served us was not of the same race and I can't say that the person is racist since I don't know that individual other than the interaction we had. But I must address the ELEPHANT in the room that there is a perception Black people don't tip. That perception is a lie. So to all my brothers and sisters know your worth, trust your intuition and if you find and patronize these type of places that choose to treat us off their small perception do a review. It's a piss poor shame, especially for those who served to witness the climate that the MAWA (makeamericaworthlessagain)administration has created to normalize the type of behavior we are seeing in 2026. I may or may not revisit this establishment just to give them another chance since the food was good but if I know for certain that my kind is not welcome then I will not give them my hard earned money or time. Good food and bad service do not mix when trust is in the equation. Those dollars can go to the ones that see you as a person. If the energy is off at the door just leave and never return. read more
