We ordered our food ahead of time for pick up through an app because we always have our dog with us so we can't dine in most places. Once we arrived, we saw they had a few picnic tables on the side, so we waited until the food was supposed to be done and then we were going to eat outside. When we went in to get it, they hadn't even started making it yet. They seemed confused but when they found the order, they started preparing it. About 15 minutes later it was ready. I am not holding this against them in this review as I cannot know if that was an issue with the app or the restaurant, I just want people to be aware so they don't sit and wait like we did. Their menu looks tempting, but the food we received was just ok. I had the Monte Cristo and the fries were undercooked, the powdered sugar was clumpy and the sandwich was greasy. It had ok flavor but I would not get it again. My husbands' sandwich was bland and their "cajun fries" are just undercooked fries with a dollop of chili and unmelted cheese on top. Where I come from we call that chili cheese fries. We also declined to eat on the rear patio after taking a look and just ate in the car. If you do have a dog, know there is a space available to you, but it is not very clean or appealing. The omelette was very good, well seasoned and exactly as we ordered it, however the toast was a bit much for the two of us. It had lots of custard, so the bread was drowning it. Well, considering other reviews, maybe we came on a really off day. But whew.... First, the customer service was fantastic. Friendly and fast servers and hosts. I'd give them 5-stars. The food was subpar. Kids breakfast was fine, the side of fruit was huge and appreciated. Big flapjacks. Kid was happy. But the adult meals had some issues. Fried green tomatoes.... couldn't find the tomatoes. The slices were so thin that the hard pucks were nothing but chewy dough. Yuck. My guess is they come frozen. Big miss for a tasty Cajun appetizer and made my California benedict chewy and unbalanced. It wound up being a chunk of dough on top of another chunk of dough (English muffin) with an egg on top. The egg, though, was cooked perfectly. The hollandaise tasted like vinegar. My side of country potatoes were burned. Thin disks of potato burnt to a chewy mess all stuck together. The added bell peppers were piled on top hiding the massacred potatoes beneath. Don't get me wrong--I love some crispy, blackened edges of breakfast potatoes.... but this was way beyond. The biggest disappointment....the beignets. They are NOT beignets. Not even close. They taste like butter biscuit dough that's been dropped in a fryer instead of baked. I've had beignets in New Orleans and often make my own at home. They should be light, airy, hollow donuts. Not solid doughy biscuits. Even worse, they came served in a pool of various fruit sauces. Ugh. At least put the sauces on the side in dishes. Dropping them in ruining whatever crispy exterior was left to enjoy and not everyone in the world like fruit syrup. Bacon was dry tasted off. Again, I suspect it is received in-house precooked and then warmed up. Nothing but my bell peppers and side of fruit tasted fresh. Food was a big miss. Lastly, the bathroom was atrocious. 3 stalls and all were dirty. One was plugged and full of feces, the second had urine and toilet paper all over the place, the third had a clean bowl, dirty seat, the lock was broken, and was out of toilet paper. In fact, while I was there, one of the kitchen staff used the feces-filled stall and then called to another gal waiting to hand her toilet paper. One sink was plugged up, too, and the floor was sticky. This was at 9:30 AM. Needless to say, we will not be back. read more

We came here for breakfast after our trip in Napa. This place is poppin!! It is definitely busy. But they had the service down to a T. They were seating people quickly. The customer service was great. We were seated maybe 35 minutes after walking in. Kristin was our server and she was great! And she was on it. I ordered the skillet was very yummy! They could have better customer service at the front since when I went the host didn't even greet us and just told us to follow her after a couple minutes of waiting there. I went here on Wednesday last week after dropping my mom off at the airport. We made it between 2 and 3 pm, less than an hour before closing. The setting inside was nice, not too quiet, but peaceful. Our server, Sydney, was super nice, friendly and welcoming to me, my sisters and my father. She made us feel welcome. I got the Cajun omelet, my father got the Riverboat omelet, my older sister got the stacked chicken and waffles and my younger sister got the chicken tenders. We also got the fried okra, fried green tomatoes and sweet potato fries. I love okra, so when it came time for the fried okra, it was lit. The fried green tomatoes were also mouth-watering and tasty. Well, I decided to order some food for takeout. I don't think I'll do that again. Just stick to dining in. It wasn't a crazy bad experience but overall it wasn't a good experience either. When entering the location, I greeted the host and told her that I had a takeout order. She told me she would go check on the order and never decided to come back and at least communicate to me a timeframe. She only decided to reappear about 12-15 minutes later to drop off the food to me. I would've really appreciated at least if she had came back and gave me a timeframe instead of making me wait with no answer . Then living only two or three minutes down the street I opened my food fairly quickly. For waiting a moment longer I don't understand how she missed the English muffin and didn't read the order. They did make it right and I was able to go pick up another one . My omelette was cold and I don't understand how if I was on time to pick the order and still had to take. We were heading to Napa for the weekend and decided to stop by Huckleberry's for a brunch/lunch. The wait for a group of 2 on a Saturday wasn't too bad considering how busy the restaurant was, but we did see a group of 6 give up on waiting because there are less table options for a group that size. The restaurant has an eclectic feel, so you'll have plenty to look at while you wait. I also took the opportunity to use the restroom, which was very clean. We sat at a small booth for two and the lights overhead immediately went off. We were squinting at our menus for a few minutes before they got turned back on. I think this is a common issue because later during our meal the lights on the larger booths on the other side of the aisle also went off. Kristin, our server, came to see us shortly after we were sat, and soon brought out a MASSIVE iced tea in a mason jar (and before we left Kristin asked if I wanted to take the rest of my tea to go--yes--and even topped me off!). I have a mild avocado allergy and there was no issue getting the California Benedict with the avo on the side. I also ordered a side of bacon--the bacon was disappointingly thin, but at least the portion came with 4 strips. My mom got the Mississippi scramble and upgraded to the flapjacks. She said the scramble was good, but nothing special. The flap jacks, while a generous size, were unfortunately very disapponting: they disintegrated/fell apart when you cut into them and they felt a little gummy/underdone--perhaps they had cornmeal added? The texture was definitely off. I think the flapjacks were also forgotten because we didn't get them for a while after our food was served--but after reminding Kristin they came out shortly after. But we would definitely go again and maybe order something different. I got the chicken fried steak last time, which was amazing, and I remembering the beignets being delicious as well. We were searching for a quick brunch spot along Park Boulevard--somewhere safe, clean, and offering good-quality food. While Yelp provided some guidance, it can sometimes be overwhelming, as one bad review from a frustrated customer can unfairly tarnish a business's reputation. Skeptical at first, we decided to give it a try--and what a pleasant surprise it turned out to be! From the warm welcome we received to the exceptional food quality and prompt service, everything exceeded our expectations. Although we over-ordered and the server forgot to place an additional item, it worked out perfectly. The portions were so generous that we didn't need the extra food after all. I'm so disappointed. I should have gone with my first mind and ordered. the basic breakfast... but nope. I had to try and be fancy and ordered the California Benedict with the tomatoes on the side. As you can see, the fried green tomatoes were horrible. The panko breading lacked any seasoning, and the tomatoes were hard and old, and one of them even had remnants of the stem remaining. My waitress was very nice her name was Tiffany. She was able to get three dollars and fifty cents taken off of my bill due to the low quality green tomatoes. The eggs benedict portion was good. However, I was more than shocked to hear that when you order the red potatoes, which you have the option of red potatoes or hash browns. If you want to have bell peppers and onions, they charge you an additional seventy-five cent. I was so tickled that I had to laugh because that is just a normal component of fried potatoes. I thought that was unbelievable. The waitress asked me when I selected the potatoes, if I wanted to add bell pepper and onion. We came to Huckleberry's as a pre Mother's Day breakfast. I ordered the iced caramel macchiato and my mom ordered a regular coffee. When she first received her coffee, her coffee mug had a big hair on it and it immediately caught my attention. They did bring us a new cup of coffee. We ordered our meals and we also waited about 30 minutes for the food to be delivered to our table. The overall service was good, the waitress was super nice. The food was very good!
