I'm so disappointed. I should have gone with my first mind and ordered. the basic breakfast... but nope. I had to try and be fancy and ordered the California Benedict with the tomatoes on the side. As you can see, the fried green tomatoes were horrible. The panko breading lacked any seasoning, and the tomatoes were hard and old, and one of them even had remnants of the stem remaining. My waitress was very nice her name was Tiffany. She was able to get three dollars and fifty cents taken off of my bill due to the low quality green tomatoes. The eggs benedict portion was good. However, I was more than shocked to hear that when you order the red potatoes, which you have the option of red potatoes or hash browns. If you want to have bell peppers and onions, they charge you an additional seventy-five cent. I was so tickled that I had to laugh because that is just a normal component of fried potatoes. I thought that was unbelievable. The waitress asked me when I selected the potatoes, if I wanted to add bell pepper and onion. I thought that was odd, and that is when I question what's there in additional charge. I am not a newbie to this restaurant, so this is something truly new to me. read more

We came to Huckleberry's as a pre Mother's Day breakfast. I ordered the iced caramel macchiato and my mom ordered a regular coffee. When she first received her coffee, her coffee mug had a big hair on it and it immediately caught my attention. They did bring us a new cup of coffee. We ordered our meals and we also waited about 30 minutes for the food to be delivered to our table. The overall service was good, the waitress was super nice. The food was very good! We were searching for a quick brunch spot along Park Boulevard--somewhere safe, clean, and offering good-quality food. While Yelp provided some guidance, it can sometimes be overwhelming, as one bad review from a frustrated customer can unfairly tarnish a business's reputation. We parked and began walking, initially planning to visit another restaurant across the street. That's when we stumbled upon Huckleberry. Skeptical at first, we decided to give it a try--and what a pleasant surprise it turned out to be! From the warm welcome we received to the exceptional food quality and prompt service, everything exceeded our expectations. Although we over-ordered and the server forgot to place an additional item, it worked out perfectly. The portions were so generous that we didn't need the extra food after all. We enjoyed pancakes, a crepe, a burrito, and other delicious dishes--all of which were absolutely fantastic. I wholeheartedly recommend Huckleberry and their amazing food. We will definitely be back! This place was slammed! There was a soccer tournament that they didn't know about so they we understaffed and their employees were still joyful and friendly. It was super loud but the bayou theme was nice. The food was just blah. I got the chicken and waffles and the chicken was super overcooked. Let me say going to this place is very nostalgic, old and worn furniture, looked like you stepped out the 70's .. I grew up in the 70's but this place could use a little updating,.. The pancakes were light and fluffy and just about perfect. As in "finish the whole stack" delicious. We decided to wait in the car close to the front so we could hear our name. We did wait longer than 35 minutes, but it was OK since we were just chatting away. Hidden gem that I found when stopping to use the Tesla Supercharger about a block away in the same shopping center. I had the Chicken and waffles with eggs, wife had the Country fried steak, and the son had the chicken tenders off the kids menu. I ordered The Louisiana with two beignets. I then told the person (a woman) on the phone to make it two beignets with the cream on the side. Since I ordered the Louisiana around 2:15pm on Dec. 9th and they closed at 3pm I figured I should still get a good to-go order. I told her on the phone that I wanted two beignets. She failed to tell me that one meant one order of three and two meant two orders of three each. I ended up with six total beignets for one person. Lol. Not what I wanted at all. The beignets were six big flour dough balls! They were not light and airy like beignets are supposed to be. I don't know what happened this day, but if this was my first time there I wouldn't return. Thankfully, I've been to this location many times and the staff is amazing and the food is delicious. We arrive early because this is the spot and there is always a wait! Up to one hour on weekends. Hubby and I had a twenty minute wait and we went to the restroom and there were some cool vintage signs. The decor itself was southern and New Orleans inspired and worth coming to see. We get a booth right by the window and from beginning to end we experienced true southern hospitality. FOOD: Mississippi Skillet on hash browns consisted of eggs, mushrooms, sausage, green pepper, red pepper and onions .. hubby loved this 10/10 so worth it Cajun Crab Cake Egg Benedict with red potatoes was sooo scrumptious . Was passing through Fairfield early morning. Wanted breakfast and saw this place on Yelp. Decided to try it since it got good reviews and "bayou" got me. Walked in, it was pretty crowded and they sat me instantly since I was solo. It was a nice ambiance inside. Didn't give me the "diner" feel. Was greeted by my server with a huge welcoming smile. I told her it was my first time, she answered all of my questions. I knew then she was great. When ever I try a new breakfast spot, I take my safety route and order chicken fried steak. I have to say, for this small franchised restaurant (mainly in Sacramento area) it was good. They have their signature dishes too. I wish it was closer, because I would definitely be going back and inviting friends. I found a spot when passing though. They are only open until 3PM.
