I came back with a friend and this time it was AMAZING. We shared the tuna tartare, avocado dip, and hudson salad. The avocado dip with kind of like an avocado toast topping with the most amazing ranch chips to dip in it. Wonderful restaurant with fantastic service! Nice way to start off our groups visit. We really needed a round table since there were so many of us. The menu is really short and sweet! Even if you don't sit at the bar you can still partake in the happy hour that is offered from 3-6 pm Monday thru Friday. The olives that come in your martini are hand stuffed with cheese in the restaurant. They are delicious! Well worth asking for that 3rd one in your drink! My hamburger was delicious! The side pickle was a hefty serving and was covered in a spicy dry rub. Yummy pickle. But I'm a pickle lover. So you can't go wrong serving me one on the side. Everything was really good! Our server Monique was amazing! The oysters are delicious! You have to try these. Well worth the price. The negatives of this location is the noice. It's gosh awful. It's virtually impossible to carry or hear a conversation. Even when the person is sitting one seat over. It's that bad. I'm guessing it was loud because it was a Friday. Had lunch at Hudson House, and it was amazing!! We were seated very quickly, and the vibe was energetic, even at lunch time. Our server, Kyra, was outstanding. She was so friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. We took her recommendation on the oysters we chose. They were so fresh and flavorful. I had a salad with grilled chicken, and it was excellent. We tried this adorable place out last night. And let me tell you I can tell the staff here really enjoy being there. EVERYONE we encounter has a genuine smile and so so nice. We did not have a reservation and the hostess didn't miss a step. She offered us bar, outside patio or hightop. Initially we took the patio, after getting waters and looking over the menu, we ordered lemon martinis and decided it was a little too hot and we asked the hostess if we could move inside. They had a table cleaned for us in less than a minute and we were graciously moved inside. We had grilled salmon and broccoli and oysters. Everything was excellent from presentation to food temperature cooked perfectly and amazing flavor. Apparently Hudson House prides itself on its lemon drop martini, and it did not disappoint. I've been to the one on Preston Hollow and Addison. They're both great locations! The first time I went I had the burger and it was so good. One of the best burgers I've had in the area and I love burgers. This time we got the oysters (2 of each), lobster roll and the burger again (of course) with the skinny fries and truffle parm fries. Everything was just so good! We live close to both locations and it just didn't seem like a place we'd enjoy, but as foodies we had to at least try it. We love this place and want to try all their other items on the menu! It's hard to pass up on getting the burger again though We also got one of the martinis and margaritas. I stopped by Hudson House for happy hour and had such a great experience. I ordered two espresso martinis and the seafood bouquet, and both were spot-on. The martinis were perfectly balanced smooth, strong, and with that velvety espresso foam on top that makes every sip feel luxurious. Easily some of the best I've had in Dallas. The seafood bouquet was super fresh and beautifully presented with shrimp, oysters, and crab everything tasted clean and chilled just right. It's the perfect shareable dish if you want something light but still indulgent during happy hour. The atmosphere was lively without being too loud, with classy coastal vibes and friendly service that made the whole visit enjoyable. This place is great! My friend and I scheduled reservations for lunch here this weekend and we had a terrific time. Once we arrived, we were able to check in smoothly with the hostesses with our reservation. We were sat quickly and the ambience and interior were both one of our favorite aspects of the experience. The style is very much northeast coast! We loved it! Next, our waitress came over quickly and helped us by providing great suggestions. I ordered the cheeseburger with skinny fries and my friend took our waitress's suggestion and ordered the eggs benedict with salmon. I believe both the burger and skinny fries are always available on the lunch/dinner menu, but the eggs benedict was a brunch special menu item. The cheeseburger was great and I loved the "Hudson Sauce" that came with it. The fries were also wonderful with their own seasoning added to them. My friend said her eggs benedict was one of the best she has ever had! Our waitress was very attentive and checked in with us a couple times, and even took away our straw wrapper trash at the beginning. Overall, the service was good but it did feel a little quick. My only complaint is that we felt a little rushed to get in and get out. We came for a girl's lunch and wanted to take our time and talk, but our food came out in less than 10 minutes and we also had the checks before I was completely finished eating. I live on the West Coast and oysters these oysters taste totally different. I absolutely absolutely loved this whole dining experience. I could not believe how packed out this place was at 9 o'clock at night on a Tuesday! I got really envious at the man's soup bowl at the table next to me... So I ordered whatever he was having. He happened to have the homemade clam chowder, which was a big fat giant guilty pleasure, and worth every single calorie. Because of the clam chowder guilty sin, I decided to eat the broccoli parmesan for my main course, which was cooked to perfection. The restaurant is a tiny bit loud, so it is a little bit challenging to have an intimate conversation, but I wouldn't let that steer you away from this upbeat, delicious, beautiful restaurant. My server, I believe his name was Jose, was super busy, but also quite attentive. He took good care of me and made fantastic suggestions. I can tell he works very hard at his job and he genuinely cares about the customer experience. I'm from out of town and I didn't have high expectations for finding a great restaurant in Addison, Texas - and I was filled with delight to discover this incredible place. I thought the green goddess dressing perfectly matched the assortment that was thrown together, and the combination of avocado, cherry tomato, bacon and sharp cheddar blended together quite nicely. Would totally recommend any of the dishes we got! Price: - Actually very reasonably priced. For 4 people, we ended up spending around $110, which isn't terrible at all. We went late on a Sunday evening and were seated quickly, which was very nice! This place fills up fast during peak times, so a reservation is always recommended. I believe on Friday and Saturdays are reservation only. Service is always phenomenal and today was no different. We shared a bowl of clam chowder, crispy fish tacos, fries, and salmon. Every dish was top tier! The fish tacos is our fave dish here, so we usually share that and something else. Another fave is the French chicken. The clam chowder is really good as well! It's not always printed on the menu (not sure why), but they always have it.....just ask. Always love the vibe.....sort of casual old-school east coast-ish. Had a really disappointing experience thanks to Christian at the front of house. He came off rude and super pretentious from the start, like we were bothering him just by being there. Simple questions were met with attitude, and when we asked for a small accommodation, he shut it down immediately with zero effort to help. Customer service was basically nonexistent, and it completely soured the visit. One person can really ruin the vibe, and unfortunately, Christian did exactly that. Ate at Hudson House on 8-2 and ordered $147 in food and drinks for 2 people. Our server was very nice and made recommendations. One of our burgers however came with a long hair in the center. The kind server brought it back to get us a new one. It took a normal amount of time which was fine as I understand things have to cook but a manager never checked in. Furthermore the burger was left on the bill. And the even weirder part is the server picked up the bill and said "I want to make sure the burger was taken off" and clearly it was not....super awkward to finish everything off. My last review was in 2021 in happier times when our dear friend Hudson House had an actual good happy hour menu. Times have changed. I came here today for the first time in a while for dinner. I sat at the bar. There were two bartenders. The one I had was a woman with glasses. Her soft skills were terrible or better yet, not there. Her counterpart was very friendly and warm toward the guests that she served, nlbut the lady who served me was unfriendly and bordered on rude. The bar wasn't busy and i was by by myself tonight (Saturday at 8:30pm) so I sat at the bar. The bartender serving me was very cold/dry in her delivery. I wasn't even told her name, meanwhile her colleague told her customers both of their names and was pleasant with her customers. The food was good, but I can make myself my own manhattan cocktail, cheeseburger, and skininy fries. I go out to eat to receive a good experience, primarily consisting of good service. The service I received tonight at HH left a lot to be desired. There was no "how are you doing", "can I get you anything else, " would you like another drink", "how are you liking your food". None of that. My bill came out to $70 and I was by myself. That included 2 drinks, a starter, and an entree with a side. I could spend that money ANYWHERE else in Addison or Dallas at large, so spending that amount of money has to be worth my while. Tonight, it wasn't because of the service. The restaurant wasn't busy. The bar wasn't busy. So why the coldness? As I said above, I haven't been here in some time, primarily because the happy hour significantly worsened. It was a larger party with about 9 of us but our waitress was very quick and efficient. Tried the avocado dip and spicy salmon crispy rice for appetizers. The spicy salmon crispy rice was literally so perfect. You get three of them and it was literally so good. Loved the aioli sauce that was on them and the texture of the crispy rice with the raw salmon was delectable. The avocado dip was also really good and I like the chips that come with it. Can tell they are fresh homemade chips and are well seasoned. I got the lobster roll for my entree. It wasn't the best lobster roll I've ever had but it wasn't bad either. It is served cold and I think it's a bit heavy on the mayo but the pieces of lobster were a good size and they gave plenty of lobster. I did like the roll it was on and the skinny fries were delicious and perfectly cooked! All of my friends said they loved their entrees and the margarita I ordered was very strong and good! Let me just say, I've always enjoyed myself at Hudson House specifically for their happy hour - the cheeseburgers, the martinis, Bellinis, oysters, just everything. That's the reason we chose this location to celebrate my brother's birthday. Upon making the reservation, we were aware that there was a 90 minute time frame for all parties. Our waitress Allison was amazing. So accommodating, great personality, took care of our party of eight the entire time. Well, around the two hour mark, which was told to us, by a man who approached our table abruptly asking "This is going to be separate checks?!" There was no greeting, no introduction, we're all unsure of who this man is. His delivery was rude, disgusting and super unprofessional. We were all shocked. So I spoke up and said that Allison was already aware of the separate checks. This man, who still has not stated who he is, then continues to order us to finish our food and drinks in ten minutes because there is a party set to sit at our table. I then say, well Allison just took our order for more food and drinks and we're going to sit here and enjoy it. He then says, "Yes, that's fine. But in the next ten minutes you NEED to finish it." We were shocked at how we were being talked to as paying customers. It was so gross. Our thing was, our waitress Allison continues to take our order, so we're going to keep ordering. As she was being an accommodating and wonderful. We expressed this to this man, who never told us who he was, but we later found out - he was the general manager. Speaking to his customers, like children, like we're nothing. So because he was so anxious to kick us out, all of the food and drink that we had ordered before he showed up started coming out, my cousin was like, nobody touch anything. Let them place it on our table, then that man can come and take it back and then remove it from our bills. Yup. That's what you'll do. During this time, two people from our party went and spoke to this man and expressed his disrespectful he was to first, the women of the table, and to all of us as a whole. He was so rude initially, we thought it was a joke, like we were being punked maybe. After a while, this gentleman does come back and apologize profusely. But no one is trying to hear him because the damage is already done. We're mad. And what's even worse, at one point, we saw our waitress Allison bringing food out to another table while this debacle is happening, she has tears welling up in her eyes. I wouldn't be surprised if Tony the manager belittled her and berated her as if she did something wrong, when honestly, she did everything right. Which was treat her customers like people. With care and kindness. To make your employees/ staff cry is terrible. We reassured her with our praise that she was amazing and that was in no way her fault. At all. We loved her. Our food, drinks, her service, our happy hour time with her was great! To be treated like this was a shock. It was upsetting and Tony, the general manager, definitely needs to do better with his people skills and learn to treat his customers better. Way better. First of all, the happy hour drinks and the food are amazing! What we had a bad experience with was the manager. Today we had a reservation for four at 4 PM on the patio. It turned out that it was raining and even though it was a covered patio, they would not seat us. They said we could look for a spot in the bar if we wanted happy hour prices and nothing was available so we asked if we could sit in the main area. The manager was talking to another person while we were in hearing distance and said "they think they're special" to get happy hour prices in the main dining area. Visited Monday evening approximately 6:45pm. My party had arrived earlier. After I was seated two servers addressed the table before us. After 15 - 20 minutes of no service spaces opened up barside we transitioned. We observed the former table was cleaned new patrons seated and served within two minutes.
