Very disappointed in this salon. I just moved to the area, so I am looking for a new salon. However, it will NOT be this one. Their posted hours on THE DOOR states that they are open until 7 pm. It's 5:52 pm and there are people inside, but somehow they would not allow me inside to purchase the Aveda products that I've been using for years. I will go out of my way to spend my hard-earned money elsewhere. read more

The real sign of a great stylist is looking fabulous after you've left, days and days after your cut, when the newness has worn off and you slip back into your old habits of rushing through your hair routine and forgetting all the best practices your stylist taught you about how to keep the look s/he created for you. Up at 5am? Too little sleep? Late for a meeting? How does your hair look now? Show me someone who still looks good after all that, and I'll show you a great stylist who made that happen! I had the opportunity to work with a new stylist at Hue Salon two weeks ago when my go-to fabulous friend had to run out and see his baby be born. As happy as I was about the new tike's arrival, I couldn't wait another minute to get my hair cut. The salon signed me up to see Zackery Chapa for the day, and I set off to challenge his skills and see what he could do for me. What did he do? Zack sat me down and spoke to me a bit about my plans for my hair. He had read my file and knew I did things a little differently every time. I challenged him by admitting I have a 5 minute rule for my hair - he had to cut it so that I could dry and style it in 5 minutes total. My regular stylist was always good about that, but most people aren't prepared for this level of beauty apathy at a salon of this caliber. I am proud to say Zack was up to the challenge, and he far exceeded my expectations for the entire experience! My cut was gorgeous- at the salon, on the way home, the next day and even two weeks later! I was true to my word, I'm back to my sub-5 minute hair routine, and it still looks great. To top it all off, Zack and I had such a great conversation and connection when we were together, it really made my love of this salon soar even higher. I will always be loyal to Atticus who delivers a fantastic cut and great friendship every time I see him, but I was so happy to meet Zackery and see that ALL of the stylists at Hue Salon put their customers first and create looks that can carry on long after the day at the salon has come to an end! read more

I just returned to Houston and had been between hairdressers. It was a bad run, but I ended up literally running into the woman who had done my hair on and off for years. She's at Hue--and come to find out that the entire group is the "who's who" of really great hair people in Houston. Jo Adams is my go-to person, but Alan Conover, who is one of the owners, is also very experienced, and Riaro Gomez has been on the Houston hair scene from the beginning. He is one of the innovators of the business having owned different ventures and now is back to his favored craft. There are so many talented people here, I know that based on hair type and personality just about anyone can find a stylist to complement Individual preference. I highly recommend this salon. The stylists at Hue are the best. I work with Cion in particular and I'm always 110% satisfied with my color and cut - he's amazing. More than that, these are great people. The salon itself is bright, clean, and inviting. The staff is helpful and they work to make your experience the best it can be. Parking isn't an issue and drinks are complimentary. Their pricing is on par with the service you get - you may be able to find a cheaper haircut, but in my view, this is my hair I'm talking about! The quality of service is excellent. I have been a client at Hue since their opening and I believe not only in the people they work with, but the products they use and the way they do business. Zachary was impeccable! I got a men's cut which is pretty basic on paper, but his patience and attention to detail really made me want to return regularly. I have particularly thick hair (which doesn't go well with this climate). Other salons' stylists have whipped out the clippers to go shorter on my hair, but Zachary opted for shears only, which is not only is a testament to his skills, but also a showcase of his innate hospitality. Other mentions: lovely interactions at the front desk (was offered a beverage right away). Manager/owner stopped by to make sure I had a beverage coming. I rarely find a salon that understands me, until I found Cion at Hue Salon. He listened to what plans I had for my hair and I showed him some pictures. He was able to "work his magic" and viola- my hair color was beautiful!! I've only tried the coloring service here, but I assume their other services are just as commendable. The receptionist, Chantal, gave me a tour when i first got there. Alan cut and colored my hair and I am so happy my daughter in California found you on the internet. Hue is not only a salon, it's also a family, and it's one I am glad to belong to. Joel A. does my hair regularly, and I trust him. As one of the junior stylists says of Joel, "he's a wizard!" In fact, he possesses some serious skills, and that those skills may, in fact, be magic! What I also appreciate about Joel is that he not only works with me to get the right cut, style and color, but he also works to teach the younger stylists how to do what he does. I went to Hue for the first time yesterday. I really liked the salon even thought things are a bit odd given the Covid 19 guidelines. However, that would be true no matter where you go. I got a fabulous haircut by Tony Sanchez. The entire experience was great and very professional. I had been looking for a new hairdresser/stylist to handle my very white, very thin and fine hair. I have found him! He talked me out of color, which saved me considerable money, saying as long as the haircut is good, my white hair was striking. I feel like I look ten years younger. Not worth the effort or price. I have seen several people and the salon and the cut is ok but nothing special for $100+. Extremely difficult to book. Their online system does not work (they lost my booking) and it is far from a luxury salon. Has more of a mid-level salon feel and the front desk is not professional. read more

Best experience by far at a hair salon in Houston! Everyone was super sweet and professional. Plenty of parking in the lot behind Uchi on a Saturday during brunch time. Allegra was my stylist and she did a terrific job! Haircuts are just tough. I didn't enjoy my first time experience at the hue 100%. My appointment was with Tess and before we started we talked about the goal for my hair, the usual stuff. Towards the end of the haircut her next client arrived and she started to rush a bit. She finished me up and I liked it looking in the mirror (but then again it was hardly any time to analyze the overall look) but once I got home and looked in the mirror... It just looked so choppy! Not blended too well. Also, both sides of my hair weren't symmetrical. Went back 2 days later to get it fixed, and she was a good sport about it but once I got home and took a closer look I wish I didn't even go back. Yes the back was blended a lot better but both sides of my hair are so different. One side is thinner and layered while the other is not layered. This just sucks considering I have short hair and I spent so much time growing out my hair from a bad precious hair cut My bangs are also an issue. I accidentally cut them too far out months ago but have since grown out and I wanted straight across bangs again but it was cut just as wide. Things probably would've went great if she didn't rush the first time around. Luckily the hue had a coupon for 20 bucks off for first time guests so I didn't spend too much money but still money was wasted. Still searching for the perfect hairdresser. read more

The salon itself is very charming and enjoyable... plenty of parking in the back away from Westheimer, right next to Uchi. Everyone is friendly, and as I watch different clients with their stylist everyone walks away happy. Products are top-notch and what I especially use for my hair (Kerastase / Aveda) Drinks are complimentary and in a "help yourself" set-up that is inviting. While not cheap, the prices are in line with other top salons. So I scheduled a visit the day of for a quick trim and walked away with a new color and much healthier new hair style which I love. Cion colored and cut my hair and it looks fantastic...he's very intuitive and knows his stuff ! When he wasn't satisfied with the way the toner came out in a certain area, he wasn't hesitant to reapply a second time to get it right. Love people who love what they're doing. Thanks. I've been coming to Hue Salon for the past few years and absolutely love it, they're the only salon that understands how I like my hair cut! My hairdresser Justin is great, he knows exactly how short/long I want my hair to be when I come in, I've never had to wait more than 5 minutes when scheduling an appointment, and everybody is friendly! The salon is very chic and modern, they also offer drinks/refreshments and the prices are very fair!
