Beware, the service department is out to get you. I bought two cars from them in the last year. My wife's car needed some minor work. While driving to Huffines the tire pressure light went on. She asked them to check the tire also. About an hour later we got a call from them stating that there was a nail through the sidewall of the tire and we needed a new tire. The price quoted was $241. When we called Discount Tire we found that their price was $100 less. We brought the car to Discount Tire we were told that the tire was repairable and the nail was no where near the sidewall. Made appointment to test CPO Outback "bait car". When I arrived a I was advised that "Oops! the vehicle was sold". The salesman that attended me quickly tried to "switch" to other vehicles, obviously more expensive than the bait car. Still test drove two switch cars. Both had underwhelming performance and multiple points of visible damage that left me wondering what quality standards at Subaru would allow such junk to become certified. Buying a new car from Huffines Subaru Denton was nothing short of magical. Pleasant surprises unfolded at every turn. When the Edwin, the Manager inquired which part of Holland my grandfather was from, I knew this place would become extended family. My experience began with a simple internet search of "Subaru Denton County Texas". My first surprise was that by signing up online for a test drive, I could get a free Starbucks tumbler loaded with a $20 coffee credit. The next surprise was when I received a friendly follow up call the next morning from Matt, my auto consultant, he explained that he would be happy to find me the exact car I was looking for, even searching out inventories from other dealerships, thus minimizing the time I needed spend driving all over the state, looking at lot after lot full of cars that I wasn't interested in. I liked his approach. When I made the short drive to Huffines Subaru of Denton and met Matt for the first time, it was like we had known each other for years. There was never any pressure or persistent questioning; only kindness and a clear willingness to listen to what *I* was looking for. Pleasant surprise #3 occurred when he walked me across the lot to discover the one and only *exact* Subaru model and color of my dreams. It was as if this perfect car materialized before my very eyes! "It's the first 2016 Crosstrek we have received." he said. It was all I could do to keep from jumping out of my skin. I *had* to have that car, but didn't want to appear *too* excited, thus blowing any opportunity for price negotiation. During the course of the drive, he took me through some of the most beautiful scenery I had seen since arriving in Texas just a month earlier. It had only been my intention to begin some research on the availability of cars that I liked, but by now I was completely sold. I prepared myself for the worst part of any large purchase; The Price. I had expected to pay the full sticker price for the first 2016 Crosstrek on the lot, since clearly others were interested in such a beauty. Surprise #4 came when Matt said he would ask his Manager to take a few dollars off to sweeten the deal. DO NOT BUY FROM THIS DEALERSHIP. I bought a car 6/1/2021 & the engine fell apart WHILE I WAS DRIVING on 3/5/2022. When I contacted the dealership to get help, they literally said, "sorry!" I have been paying for this vehicle & full insurance for almost 10 months. I have spent HUNDREDS on repairs and gas for borrowing vehicles. The OWNER RAY HUFFINES told ME and my broker that "Used cars die and that's just how it is! Can't help you!" They have even attempted to blame me for not changing the oil in the car and telling me I put 40k miles on it, when in fact, it was only 20k miles and I had the oil change receipts. The car died when it still had 200 miles until the next oil change. I could drive the car from here to Canada & the engine should not fall apart!! This vehicle is a Mercedes & per the owner himself, they couldn't even properly check the car before selling it to me. Although, I have a Certified Pre-Owned Document saying this car is in tip top shape to be sold & is sold CERTIFIED by this dealership. If you call and ask about a certified warranty, they will tell you (which I have on recording) that it's covered bumper to bumper 100,000 miles. However, don't you dare try to call and actually use this. You will be treated like dog sh*t and told "that's not true." So the certified pre owned document I have and the recordings I have of them saying that they cannot properly check this vehicle is .... worthless?? I thought the owner of this business is a christian man who is praised for exceptional customer service?? When I spoke to him and told him that the engine of this vehicle fell apart while I was driving down the highway with my daughter in the car, he said, "OH WELL." And proceeded to blame this issue on me. This engine is part of lawsuits - it's on the internet. Mercedes can't even push it through on extended warranty because Huffines had the car before me. So it even voided the special extended warranty on the engine. Fast forward 10 months, my auto loan company has been requesting a collateral exchange from the dealership for at least a month now since finding out what is going on. I have texts with the GM Aaron Brown begging him to please contact my loan company because I am moving out of state and I am now completely out of time after trying to get this done after 10 months. He is suddenly not responding to me! All they have to do according to my loan company is ONE FREAKING DOCUMENT. It has also ruined my credit and I take anxiety and anti depressants due to the stress - I cannot get a place to live and I cannot get another vehicle because I am still in this loan and so many places ran my credit trying to help me get another vehicle, and I have maxed out a credit card using Lyft to get to work and back. DO NOT BUY FROM THIS COMPANY! If I tried to get another vehicle, I would have to roll over $9-14k and pay $640-700/month for a car without a warranty and that would also die soon. I purchased my 2015 Nissan Versa Note from Joey Pena and he was the best! I shopped around at other lots over next to Huffines Subaru but they were rude and seemed to be short and pressuring. At first, Joey shook my father's hand and not mine so I was a little annoyed but by the end it got better. Joey was relaxed and I never felt pressured to hurry or to buy even though I showed up in the evening after work. The F&I went smoothly but I knew exactly what I wanted. I felt a little pressure to get the GAP but other than that, no pressure to buy their "bundles." Overall a seemingly good experience. However, I did have my father (who is a mechanic) with me. Dear Huffines Subaru in Denton and Robert Goodwin, I really tried to give you a chance but all visits to your location are stress inducing and I cut the drama out of my life. You guys used to be amazing for about a year and a half but now everything is a problem. I gave you opportunities and feedback to be a better business. I held off on updating my review as you continued to slide downhill. I reminded myself that Rick in sales is awesome and that Ralph is a nice guy, even if he does talk more than he listens. I love my Subaru, and tried to convince myself it was better to come to the local dealership in the long run. As stated in my previous review, you have made us feel unwelcome when we tried to bring both vehicles for routine maintenance. Sure, you, Tony and Ralph have all stated that this should not have happened and apologized, but it didn't change, so you lost one of the vehicles permanently. Then there was the debacle on New Years Eve when I informed you I wouldn't be returning. All of you had the appropriate amount of horror to your service technicians using my radio and heater to their personal comfort, changing my presets and messing with my window timing because they can't complete their job correctly. You begged me to let you fix it and sure, I returned because why should I have to pay someone else to fix something that was working when I brought you my Subaru? On that return visit, Ralph even informed me that he now remembered Tony had instructed him to take care of me due to my last complaint about the attitude toward maintenance on our other vehicle. You know what? I don't want special treatment, I want to go to a place that gives decent service to everyone, every time. Besides, your version of special treatment is extremely inadequate. Despite that, you tried to appease me with a free car detailing and you know, that's quite generous as that isn't cheap. However, it didn't inspire trust in your service department, it just showed me that you were taking steps to make things right. I was assured the staff would be talked to as it wasn't the first time they had messed with people's settings. Yesterday, I return and the overpromising continues. Just tell me the real time slot it will be ready so I can plan the rest of my day, it's disrespectful to your customers time and schedules when they have to wait another 2 1/2 hours, but could have been accomplishing other things. How about returning the vehicles in the state you found them? This time they remembered to turn off my radio and heater but did not remember to put them back on the right station or settings. Did you really think someone with OCD tendencies who has called you out on this before wasn't going to notice? Also, when I asked for my ash tray back, it took so long I was about to leave and not only did Ralph act like it was no big deal, he had the nerve to act like I should have known what to expect with the still wet mats and soaking steering wheel cover. I'm sorry, isn't that YOUR job?? Aren't you supposed to inform me what to expect? It hasn't happened on my last 3 visits but it should be part of each visit. Also, why is it no big deal that you are jacking things I have purchased? I will say this- my car was absolutely filthy and it came back cleaner than I expected, though I didn't ask for the side of attitude. It looked really good and I appreciate I was offered an expensive service for free. The car looks great until you see the registration sticker was slashed and the windows smudged. Too bad, I didn't discover my missing sun blind from the cargo area AND the missing net until today. You know, the ones that comes as part of the car!! However, when I left I was experiencing some real issues with my tires. I had to rush over to Discount Tires before they closed, completely stressed out and thank God they were willing to stay late to balance my tires- my new tires from 3 weeks ago that were perfectly fine when I dropped it off. A balancing weight was somehow missing. Does it really not bother you that people are having new problems when they leave? That has to tell you something. This place shows zero respect for me or my property. You exhibit gestures to say you want to keep my business, but then you keep making the same business mistakes. This shows me you want my business as much as I want to be your customer. So, voila, it's over. It's not me, it's definitely you. It's a shame that I will have to find a dealership in another town, but the aggravation you cause me can't possibly be good for my blood pressure. Bought a car from these guys over a month ago, at first everything was good. Long story short I did the mistake of trusting them. For one their salesman (Robert Howard) can't keep a simple promise. Had paint chips on the car and was told I was going to get some touch-up paint to fix. Also was promised a license plate bracket, but over a month and nothing. Can't work with dealerships that don't do anything to help their customers out. Also center console lid was broken, and they did nothing to help me fix it or replace it. I helped my father-in-law purchase a new Subaru Outback, and Mike Bresnahan was the most professional car salesman I have ever dealt with. He gave me a firm price over the internet, and I am pleased to say that the price he quoted was the exact price we paid upon arrival to the dealership a couple of days later. My buying a car experience here was really "Meh..". But that was a year ago, as of 2 days a go my car suddenly overheats in 30 degree weather at night. I do all the right things like pull over and turn it off and get my boyfriend to bring me coolant so I can make it home safely. The leak was FAST. So my coolant was empty by the time I got home. Lucky for me I got the platinum warranty or so I thought. I have been calling them for 2 days now. Not only are they passive aggressive over the phone with things like, "well i was here all day yesterday and I don't remember you calling..." REALLY? Because I was that customer that kept checking back between 9 am and 3pm which is when I gave up to go to work. (had to be picked up since my car didn't run) And I'm usually a very nice person, I'm hard to anger. But I got angry with them I have to admit, I specifically asked for a service adviser, and rather than tell me, "They are busy, can you hold?" I get sent to a cashier. This happened multiple times so how you "don't remember me" is an obvious flaw on your end. And this is not the first time this has happened with THEM and the WARRANTY THEY sold me! Not only will huffines subaru try to give you the run around but the warranty place will too. "Well, we are booked since its thanksgiving weekend..." DUH. All I need you to do is LOOK at it so I can get a rental car to drive home for 3 hours or I do not get to see my family. I don't even need you to work on the car at this second I just need you to say you looked at it so you can tell my warranty people so I can get a rental car! I had the SAME thing happen when i had a tire randomly blow at the start of 2015. And again i had to struggle to find a way to get to work and school even though my warranty is supposed to have you help me, or help me get a rental car. ALSO after I bought the car, my oh so smart salesman gave my FULL NAME to the guy who used to own the car who I then started getting Facebook messages and comments from and attempted emails. I didn't want any of that! Not to mention I then came across a picture of me and my car on pinterest! He offered to take a picture of my car and I together for me so I let him thinking that was nice. (on my camera) But turns out he kept a copy for himself and just posted it and my name to pinterest. VERY unprofessional dealer ship. I am VERY dissatisfied. read more

If you want to get a Subaru get it somewhere else...or bring a book or something to pass the time while you wait around for someone to help you...place is laid out weird..not a lot of Subarus to choose from..compared to Hiley on the west side...a lot of standing around waiting...if you get your Subaru serviced there even for a simple oil change make sure you make an appointment and just do not show up..the service manager gets a little testy if you just show up and ask if they can do an oil change..he did do it but made it apparent he was not happy about it... Before looking at Subaru, we visited several dealerships from other brands (The Subaru Forester was on our list of cars we were considering). Hello Tom the Kia Salesman I brought in a red Kia spectrum your service department told me I needed repairs totaling $4178. They charged me about $200 and did very little if anything. They charged to rotate the tires, but it still had the worst tire on the right front. I took the red Kia to Firestone in Corinth. They fixed the Kia for less than $400 dollars.
