However, once I escalated the issue to the General Manager, Chris Hogan, the situation completely turned around. Chris was incredibly professional, transparent, and resolved my issue within days. He even offered complimentary vehicle maintenance to apologize for the inconvenience. I just called to make an appointment to get 4 new tires for my 2023 Mazda CX-5. Talked to an agent in service named Maddie. She seemed overwhelmed trying to work on my request, making an appointment for replacing my original tires, appointment time, price and approximately how long it would take. Advised her that I had tire protection but did have one issue early on when I purchased my car brand new off their lot in 2023. She went in some tangent about the tire protection, how that won't matter and on when I asked just tell me about the appointment times available as I don't need the details of the tire protection right now and I planned on buying the 4 tires not needing protection since this wouldn't be cover under that. She went on and on when I finally said I do not want to hear about the tire protection just give me the appointment times when she said I was being rude and hung up. I've had more than stellar experiences with the service department since I bought the car however now I'm starting to doubt I want to take my business back to them and not another Mazda dealership. Please if you are looking for a Mazda look at other dealerships because this one seems to be having its issues!! read more

Denton Mazda: A Long Road of Mixed Experiences I've been taking my car to Denton Mazda for a few years now, mostly because it's the closest Mazda dealership by a fair distance. While I've had a few questionable experiences in the past, my most recent visit raised a serious red flag. They initially recommended a belt tensioner service, which I questioned since it had already been done the previous year. After some back and forth, they admitted it was a mistake and said they actually meant the belts needed replacing. I didn't schedule it that day, but it was included in a list of services I booked a few weeks later. When I brought my car in, I specifically asked them to check the belt tensioner and call me with an update. That call never came. The service wasn't done, and when I picked up my car, I was simply told it wasn't needed. If I had gone ahead with the original recommendation, I would've been out over $1000 for something unnecessary. When I asked for clarification, I was told the technician had over 20 years of experience. That's not an answer--it's a deflection. I never got a real explanation. I had teken my car for l change and inspection and they would a few different issues which is fine that's great but I would also tell them about some concerns I have with my vehicle like excessive brake noises and noise form the front. they said my brakes were Fine and fromt Suspension looked good as well. finnaly I took it to a mechanic and they said not only were the breakers down to 3mm but also my front structs were so bad that they could be damaging other pieces of my car as well as All my engine mounts are worn down. read more

I had a great experience buying my 2025 Mazda cx 90. I am only giving 1 stars based on my experience with the service department. My 2025 mazda cx90 had engine malfunction light come on twice within 2k miles. Rather than being honest with me the service manager tried to make up excuses for the reason for the light. The error code was for low oil pressure. I was told that I need to let the car warm up before putting the car in gear. So, if you put the CX 90 in to gear too soon, you will get a engine malfunction light ? this does not make any sense. No modern car needs to be "warmed up". Cars warm up pretty quickly and even if it is not warm, there is no reason to throw a engine malfunction light, which stays on for days. No other vehicle I have owned ever had this problem. This is a software issue, but rather than coming clean they tried to make up reasons and excuses. I would have been satisfied if they just accepted responsibility, they did not have to fix anything. I would not recommend this dealership to anyone. read more

From the 50 year old sales manager who dresses like a surfer brah, to the "sales consultant" who definitely got his sales technique from watching Glen Gary Glen Ross, guy got offended when I called him out on his $980"mandatory security equipment fee". So when he called us "Costco customers" (??) and my wife had already said he gave creepy vibes, I told him to f@ck himself. Went to the dealership in Richardson, got a better car, less miles, and $1500 less expensive. Oh yeah, and when I mentioned the $980 "mandatory security fee", he yeah that's a typical used car salesman's douchebag tactic. That's a quote . This was probably the best car buying experience I've ever had. I came in to test drive a CX-30 and CX-5. I was honest and told them I was test driving only that day and there was no pressure. They were helpful and informative. While Scott reached out to keep in touch, he never pressured me. After test driving other cars I decided on a CX-5 and found a vehicle that I liked on the lot. Putchased a vehicle there yesterday. We set an appointment to finalize paperwork, and arrived at 5:25 for a 5:30 appointment. We were ready to go! We were told it would take about 40-45 minutes for paperwork to be completed and handled. I figured that was optimistic, so we built an extra 30 minutes into the schedule. Had a commitment for 7:00. Since Classic dealt directly with our credit union for financing, the salesman (who wasn't there --the substitute guy was very nice,though) said it would be "instantaneous." The credit union advised us that we should go ahead and deal directly with Classic to make things simpler--so we did. We had the paperwork filled out and submitted by 5:55. I joked with my wife that things were going slow enough that we might be there until 8:00. Famous last words. There were actually employees on the floor stating that they couldn't wait for 8:00. (Their closing time) to come. Not a good thing for customers to hear. They called us into the office at 7:25, blaming the delay on an unreasonable customer ahead of us and the fact that they only had one guy in the office. (Not our fault and shouldn't gave been our concern. Definitely not an overly professional thing to be discussing with us,) We left the finance office at 7:45, so we missed our commitment. I asked to check the trunk to make sure there was a spare tire. There was, but it literally took the sales guy five minutes to figure out how to open the trunk. We left the lot at 7:55. They had a guy standing there to lock the gate behind my wife as we left. (So I guess they really couldn't wait for 8:00.) So far the vehicle seems good, but I really wasn't impressed with people the people skills I saw. read more

I went to this dealership today to purchase a new vehicle. I had been reading on the internet about Mazda and I needed to buy today. While looking at the different vehicles I asked the salesman "Is the zero interest available on this car" and he replied "I don't know, they don't tell us anything." It shocks me that a manufacturer would spend loads of money to lower their interest rate to zero to draw traffic into a dealership and the sales rep doesn't know what vehicles offer zero interest or he doesn't want to tell you. Credibility was out the door and so was I. Recently purchased a certified pre-owned vehicle. The buying process itself was straightforward and timely and if this review was only for that, would be 3-4 stars. The disappointment came when the vehicle, which supposedly passed CPO inspection, had several flaws that per the guidelines either should have been fixed to qualify for CPO status or should have caused it not to pass certification in the first place. The CPO guidelines specifically state "Bumpers are free of cuts and scratches" which this was most certainly not the case as seen in the pictures. Rather, it was $579.38 to repair. Not sure if the bumper damage was "accidentally" overlooked or what happened, but not impressed by their CPO inspection and subsequent lack of response once I contacted them regarding this issue. I've been servicing my 2017 Mazda CX-5 at Classic Mazda since 2017 and was happy enough with their service and recommendations. 84.4k miles and counting. Once they noted an alignment had been done recently so my forgetful request was not necessary. I was grateful. Classic Mazda is now Denton Mazda and two incidents now make me looking around for a replacement. Incident 1: In June 2022 A DM mechanic said my battery was not cranking out proper amps with new one priced near $400. I replaced it through Costco for $140, and my labor. Then I noticed DM battery was only a year old and DM installed it in July 2021. After showing paper work, retesting and a 100% rating by DM just 3 months earlier, DM took out the Costco battery and replaced the old DM battery with new battery at no additional cost leaving me to return the Costco battery. Fortunately, Costco refunded the purchase. Why weren't my DM records searched before telling me I needed the $400 battery? They were easily available. All ended up well after some hassle, mileage, research. Incident 2: A check engine light came on. The code reads intake manifold gasket and while they are at it decarbonize the valves, for $1232. I said reset the light and I'll check it over the next week. They said they could not reset the light. My research showed symptoms that would be associated with the light code. None were present. Gas mpg actually went up, not down. A week later the light went out. No issues with the car, hesitations, acceleration, sounds, mpg. Why weren't additional questions asked about symptoms before going straight to the expensive repair recommendation? One star off and now I am being cautious. read more

I purchased a new CX-5 from this dealership a couple weeks ago and Chris was an absolute delight to work with! He was very knowledgeable and enthusiastic about all the features in the car and I could just tell how much he loved his job. Even though I came in with my husband, I really appreciated that he catered the whole experience towards me since the car was for me. He even provided me with his own personal cell number in case I had any questions about the car which made it so much more personable instead of looking at us as just another sales transaction. I've already been in contact several times with Chris since purchasing the car with talks about getting Apple CarPlay/Android Auto installed when my plates are ready to be picked up and he was so helpful and said he'll make sure to walk me through all the features and get me set up once it's installed in the service dept. I absolutely LOVE this dealer. I bought a Mazda CX-5 (my first car as an adult) and have been having it serviced here for close two years. I've had nothing, but great service. I needed some lug nut locks removed and Junior and his guys took care of me, changed my tire with a nail and offered to patch my tire whenever I was available. I have a tight schedule due to being a teacher and he worked around my schedule to get me in for service. Don't trust the service center.... I have never written a bad reveiw on Yelp, but felt this was deserved. Three years ago, when we bought a new vehicle, I was provided a token by the sales representative which he indicated could be used to obtain a free key if one was ever lost or stolen. We lost a key and I called the service center to schedule an appointment to get the key replaced. I explained the situation that we had a token for the free key. The service center representative said he had never heard of a "token" and would schedule the appointment and speak to the service manager, Angela. I arrived for the service appointment and they indicated that they would not honor the free key and the sales representative made a mistake telling me it was for a free key. I spoke with Angela and she said she knew nothing about it. Apparently, the token is provided with the number on it, so they know how to cut a key if the key is misplaced. They said to provide a new key it would cost $500, including $160 of labor. They would not budge even though on the appointment paperwork, it referenced them needing to speak to Angela. If they had actually talked to Angela, like they indicated they would, and called me back to let me know that they would not provide the free key, I would have been disappointed, but ok with it. The fact that they did not communicate internally and never called to inform me prior to taking off from work and wasting my time, is where the frustration lies. They were willing to charge me $160 an hour for their time, but completely disrespected my time. Apparently, the customer's time is worth nothing, regardless if it's clear in the notes on their appointment confirmation that they were going to speak with Angela (which they did not). I wouldn't trust anything they say. Even when you can show them the notes on their own appointment confirmation, they still do nothing to make the situation right - not even a discount on the labor. Very disappointed in the service on my Mazda. Took it in for a bad rattle and was told that it needed motor mounts. Ok. $500+ to replace two mounts. Expected to get it back without the rattle. Still rattled and now they want $275 for sway bar links. They either didn't do the original work or misdiagnosed the problem. No one I can find test drove the car. They seem to be guessing and charging for their failed efforts. No manager available and I am left to die on hold. They want to tell me that the rattle wasn't mentioned when the car was brought in. The $800+ struts they want weren't either, but that didn't stop them from trying to hook us on that. If someone in management reads this, I might amend it. Scamming Dealership! Something needs to be done. If you read other reviews, you will see they are doing unnecessary maintenance and repairs. DO NOT USE THIS DEALERSHIP! I made an appointment to do transmission flush based on recommendation from this service department. After sitting in the dealership for about 20 minutes, they came to me and told me they were out of transmission fluid, and did not know when they would get any more. Just a simple disregard, and "Uh, sorry", almost sarcastic. I called another dealership to make an appointment, and the service advisor I spoke to said that since my car was a 2016 with SkyActive technology, there was no reason to do any transmission service. I googled what he told me and this is the first thing that comes up: "All Mazda vehicles equipped with SKYACTIV® TECHNOLOGY* have lifetime transmission fluid that only needs to be changed when a major transmission component or the entire transmission needs replacement." This dealership wanted to do a service that's not needed. This is the worst dealership, do not go here. I was thinking about buying another Mazda - I'll be better of buying a bicycle. read more

RUN AWAY!! If you truly want and need a Mazda, you'd be better off going to any other Mazda dealership in the area. Drive an hour out if you have to. I first went into this dealership 3 years ago when it was Classic Mazda. I had a horrible experience with a salesman that's apparently no longer working there. I ended up buying my Mazda3 at a different dealership and had a good experience, a fair price, and received great customer service. Since I live closer to Denton I went back in to see what they had in their inventory as my lease is coming to an end in the next few months. They are no longer Classic Mazda, but now are called Denton Mazda, as they were bought by Group 1. Their sales model is to build the car on their website (which you can do at home or on your phone), and then tell you that's the final price. Zero willingness for negotiation despite the constant reminder of "we'll work with you" and a ridiculous pompous attitude to go along with it. They are extremely proud of how many people come in and blindly pay full msrp, and they make sure to tell you about it several times. Scott, the gentleman I mostly spoke with was extremely kind and warm at first, and then turned more and more pushy, rude, and arrogant as the experience went on. He pulled the info/offer page on a cx30 with the msrp at $29,495 and a monthly payment of $435.84. I informed him I had an offer in writing from a different Mazda dealership in the area for a cx5 (a more expensive/better vehicle) for a negotiated msrp of $29,005 (less) and a monthly payment of $426 (less). Scott the salesman's response was, "so what? We can't compare apples to oranges". I explained that I realized not everything would be a perfect comparison, but this at least shows how one dealership is willing to work with a customer versus how his is not. Plus the fact that we're not even starting in the same ballpark when it comes to the initial handling of the msrp. He then boasted about how much the car world has changed and this is just how things are now. He informed me that people come in everyday and are happy to pay full msrp, and really enjoy the non negotiation aspect of the buying process. I left frustrated, but then came right back in to try to gain some more understanding. I informed him that we both know these similar car brands have similar tiers of cars and how they're priced very similarly. So hypothetically if I were to go to a Nissan, Subaru, Kia, Toyota...etc..(as I and everyone else has done in the past, and this will be my 3rd lease) and bring you an offer from them on a similarly priced car that you would have no use for that in negotiating, and zero interest in attempting to gain my business from a competitor? He said yup, can't compare apples to oranges and that Mazda doesn't need the business. He then provided an example that he was very proud of, "If you go to an apple store and tell them you can get a Samsung for $20 less, will Apple then be compelled to give you a $20 dollar discount?" I laughed out loud as he clearly had no idea of how absolutely assanine he sounded. He then asked me what type of phone I had, Samsung or Apple, I told him Samsung and his response was, "yea, see we're just different types of people. People buy Mazda because it's Mazda and they want it." I then made one final soft handed attempt with this fool by informing him I had been to all kinds of dealerships. From Kia to Mazda to Mercedes and BMW, and not one of them had this ridiculously arrogant pompous attitude and salesmanship. Then I left. So, If you want to buy a car at a place that believes you are lucky just to walk through their doors, you don't mind paying non negotiable jacked up non sensical prices, and you enjoy being manipulated, talked down to, and argued with, then this dealership is perfect for you. Go in, pay exactly what they tell you, don't ask any questions, and then watch them all laugh at you as they act like they just did you a huge favor by allowing you to own a Mazda. lol a Mazda....and I love my 2020 Mazda3, but c'mon man, ya'll need to relax read more

The service always surpasses my expectations, and usually includes a complimentary car wash. The customer service is great. Edit: 10/14/2019. My car is a complete POS. I am now living in Austin and my "brand new" 2017 car purchased in August of 2018 AC doesn't work! It has been a miserable summer. My AC works sometimes conveniently the time I took it to the Mazda it worked fine for days. Now I'm having to pull over on the side of the road to take videos of the issue and text it to the Mazda manager. It's an electrical issue from the MICE that chewed through my wires on the LOT at this dealership. They paid to repair it, and even suggested that the mice were from my house. Laughable. I owned that house ten years no mice and it sat on their lot for a year for a reason!! I am so upset and depressed that the first car I ever bought was not only a horrible experience but the car itself is terrible. The pushy salesmen in warranties convinced me that I would have and I quote "ZERO warranty" when I denied his extra insurance. So all this time over a year I've been dealing with constant issue with the ac because I knew I couldn't afford to fix it. ALL this time I had a manufacturer's warranty that conveniently expired 200 miles before I brought it in. Do not buy from MAZDA garage cars, terrible service. I will warn people of Mazda all my life. The individual salesmen Andrew was nice but all of his superiors and managers are rude and completely don't care about customers experiences. All they care about is getting your money. AND fixed the issue Denton couldn't even figure out and even though it was out of warranty by two days the honored it. To add to insult Mazda Denton conveniently did not have record of trying to fix my issue when Irving called. I went there for a Certified car and it was a bad experience. - Sales Manger denied what Sales Associate told me about terms and condition of the Certified warranty. - Although, they told me they are willing to give me a deal. The Sales Manager only offered $200 off which literally meant nothing. - Their reference for pricing was something that they only know. First, they asked my reference for offering price (KBB) but when I asked for their reference for pricing I only heard none sense words. - Overall, the behavior of the Sales Manager was rude and disrespectful. I took my Mazda in for an oil change & was told I needed to have my front control arms replaced, tie rod ends replaced, sway bar links replaced, front brake pads replaced & brake fluid flushed. $2,153. Car has 58,000 miles. So I took it to a local auto shop I trust & was told those parts are all good, brake pads are at 40% & brake fluid is good for another year. $75 to check everything. Moved from California to Texas last year and needed to find a place to have my car serviced. Classic Mazda was the closest one and they did not disappoint. Scheduling online is very easy. I've been here twice and James helped me both times. Very nice guy and always kept me informed with what was happening. The first time I came was for routine maintenance and the second time was for maintenance and the airbag recall. They can be quite busy, so it might take a while if you're waiting, but they have a comfortable waiting area, good WiFi and cold water. My family and I have been relocated back to California, but if I were ever to move back to the area, Classic Mazda would be my go to place for my car. read more
