    Cracked peeling wrap that I was lied to about

    I purchased a Lexus used car from the pre-owned lot August 2024. Due to some deception with the sales and financial aspects it has costed THOUSAND$ over the course of 10 months. They sold me a car with a broken vanity mirror. Who does that? After getting in touch with the manager he did fix the issue, but little did I know it was indicative of what was to come. Two months later, I had to replace brakes, rotors, tie rod assembly, and two of the "new tires" due to a persistent slow leak. A month later I had to replace the water pump. So this was all within the first 90 days, there goes another 3 grand. A month ago, my roof starts peeling. Weird, I thought. Especially since they told me that it was a "special edition" blackout package and comes painted that way. This was after I specifically asked about the black top and spoiler prior to purchasing! It didn't make a difference in the sale for sure so there was no point to lying BUT now my "special edition" turned out to be wrapped! You have to take care of wrap differently and you have to have it removed or rewrapped after a couple years! This is a costly investment in itself. Wrap removal is around $250, then who knows what that paint looks like under? So then you are looking at another $250 to wrap the top (while committing financially to rewrapping every 2 years.) or you have to have it repainted which is $2500. After receiving a wrap and a paint consultation, I visited this location in person. Surprisingly, DJ and Don were very helpful and told me they will take care of it. I have a work order to get the wrap removed and paint corrected as needed. I will update once the job is done.

    Update: This was in March 2024, they message on google April 2024 saying they will look into It, it's now June 2024 I have not heard from anyone. I will be filing a complaint. I came in for oil change, waited for a long time, and they tried to charge my car for diesel oil change. I then ask did they put diesel oil in my car and if so it's needs to be redone correctly. They said they did not but I'm not convinced. I still have the original receipt where they were trying to charge for diesel and then the secondary receipt. I also received paperwork saying they didn't do tire inspection or anything because for I waited for long time and things were done wrong. I assume not sure why the normal check up was not performed. I noticed after my windshield fluid light came on but I had an appointment to be at. With off and on rain and the car washed I had needed to use it. I finally came around to filling it and notice some of the fluid is coming out under the car. It did not happen before that change. Now ironically I receive an email yesterday saying Washer fluid bottle or hose leaking needs diagnostic service needed and a charge. How is that when that was not on my original paperwork nor was it an issue before. I think it ironic and it seems shady. Like my things was purposely damaged to squeeze more money. This email was sent to me a month later. Not near or during my services. On my original paper work again it shows they did no diagnosis and I asked did they check tires and etc they said no because they running behind. Of course I could stay longer but opted not too. They need to fix this for not charge as I feel like they already had made a mistake. I have email as proof as well. I will be filing more complaints this is ridiculous. The messed thing is I even bought from this dealership and if I wanted to trade it I wouldn't and advise other not to if they service is shady. They said the look into it over month ago and no one ever reached out.

I was doing my research on the Toyota Crown and 2 years ago when I wanted to replace my Ford Taurus, I wanted to get one, but unfortunately I did not have the cash to get one so I settled with a Hyundai Sonata Hybrid as the Taurus was 150K. I saw that Toyota of Denton has a lot of Crowns in stock and it was the color I really wanted and one day I was curious of clicking on getting today's price. I also saw an old friend of mine worked there, Jack Mitchell. The price ended up being $2000 dollars off extra, so I ended up getting the car $6121 dollars off MSRP. Beware of the $2000 dollar off is a catch is you have to finance through them and not immediate. The person contacted me and wanted to know when I can come in and setup the appointment. I asked for Jack Mitchell and since Wednesday was his day off, he gave me a call early in the morning the following day. I setup an appointment with him on Friday. Unfortunately, Friday was really hectic and I could not get off of work until 4:30pm and I informed the dealership I will be arriving around 5:30pm. We finally arrived and Jack did recognized me as he was telling a story about how his in laws had 12 kids and one of them to get a boy and my wife finally intervened and asked if he remembered me and he did. We took a test drive and Jack told us about the car and some of the cool features. It was night time and we took the car around the block and it was not too bad. I thought the car drove okay, but I knew this was the car I really wanted based on the reviews. We came back to the office and the part I really dislike the most of is coming to a deal. The out the door price was the same. I had to mention about the $2000 off of today's price as they forgot to include that. Jack told me we had to finance through them to get the discount which I was okay and I was okay with out the door price as I knew Toyota of Denton offered the best price. I probably could have gone to other businesses and see if they can beat it, but since I knew Jack I wanted to do business with them. Next was the trade in and what they can offer us which is the tough part as I did my research of what other auto dealers were willing to pay for the car. The first one they offered me was $13,684 dollars and $15,000 trade in credit and I said well I was looking at other websites and they were willing to offer me $19600 to $20K for my car and we were way off with the trade in. Jack talked to his manager and they gave me $17000 for the car and $18000 for the trade in value so the total cost with taxes was $32,388.87 I wanted to push my luck and said if you can get the price to $31,999.99 you got yourself a deal. Then, they came back and only gave me the 0.87 off more and then we could not come to an agreement. Jack said why don't you see if you can sell your car for the price you are looking for and the out the door price will still be the same. I ended up selling my car somewhere else and took an Uber to the dealership and Jack met up with me. We went over the paperwork like credit and went byquickly. I had to wait 30 minutes for the finance guy. The finance guy went over all of the warranties and tried to do some scare tactics about tires deflating, try to get me to pay for future maintenance and theft insurance, but I declined them all. He was not pushy at all and found him humorous. The next step was getting the Toyota app setup and they were detailing my car and said it would be done in 30 minutes. I waited an hour and I finally said something like to ask what is happening as I really wanted to get out of there. The lady that was helping me out named Simone, I am not so sure she really liked her job or not as she seemed uninspired. She did not say anything to me or ask me how is everything. Anyways I found out the car was sitting there for 30 minutes. She setup my app and just took my phone and did her thing, there usually there is someone to guide you and give you instructions, but she just wanted to do her thing and get out of there. She said she did not want to install in the license plate as there was a holder, so she told me go to the service department and have it installed instead of her just taking the car and driving it there. Jack saw me leaving with the car and then he gave me instructions on how to setup the car and the features which was nice for 20 minutes. He asked me if I had any questions and I said no and I thanked him and took my car to the service department. They were fast with the installation and it was only 20 minutes. There is a follow up call with either the manager or the car sales person, but I did not not. I tried to contact them to see if the car owner manual comes with the car, but I did not get a response. Jack was great, finance was good, but rest was meh.

We had NO plans to purchase a vehicle from them but it seems easier to just do it all in one transaction. Originally, they indicated we would get the equity check from them that day. Then, after we signed the contract we asked about the check and were told we have to wait for our new loan to fund and it should go thru the next day. The next day, we were told it would take about 5 business days for them to be able to release the check. Now, we've been told they can't release the equity check until they receive the title from the original lienholder. Management has told us the check was sent to LH via FedEx within a few days of our transaction, yet, our lienholder has yet to receive the payoff. We sold our travel trailer to another local dealer about a week later and that lienholder received the funds within 3 business days. My husband stops by 2-3X a week and is told something different every time. We are just stuck waiting to do the things we need to do with that significant equity. Just feel everything they told us was a LIE!!! Shop ELSEWHERE Denton County!!
