(Note I'm not officially doing the trail just trying all the places on it and doing it in my own way as I judge a restaurant experience off of everything as opposed to one singular menu item.) Anyways, the server was extremely rude and cold. The burger was thin and tasteless not smash burger thin, like no taller than a nickel. It was served on a massive thick doughy bun that was like chewing gum. The fries tasted like they got cheap frozen fries from Giant Eagle and they didn't even properly cook them, they were ice cold and frozen. They don't give you a ketchup bottle or even little cups of ketchup just packets. My dad got some pasta dish and it was like they just dumped out a can of chef boyardee, it was degusting. It's Day 22 of the Pandemic. We've been wearing masks when we leave the house, staying 6 feet away from other people, going for groceries only once a week, and about twice a week we order takeout. Tonight we ordered dinners of smothered chicken and liver & onions from Hugger-Mugger. The Fifteen minutes wait is about how long it takes us to get to this restaurant, so we left right away. We were very impressed with the pickup area. The front parking lot had numbered spaces with a sign on each giving a number to call so our meals could be delivered. Within three minutes of the call, the server brought our food, took our payment and we were on out way. Super efficient! Great planning by them to keep customers coming back! The entree's were delicious. Large portions and nice variety of coloring. I wish the onion rings were wrapped in foil (juice from the sauce made them soggy), but it was great to have a good meal we didn't cook. read more

We ended up here because of the cool name. How else do you pick a place to eat in an unknown town? TL;DR Quick service, decent non-fancy food. I'm stuffed on the cheap. Our waitress, Kassady, arrived within a minute with the menus and to take our drink orders. She brought our drinks quickly and took our orders. She turned out to be friendly and efficient. If you've read any number of my reviews you'll find that I can't pass up meatloaf. I got the senior portion of meatloaf (thanks Kassady!) which is two slices of loaf and two sides--I opted for mashed potatoes and green beans, with Brown gravy. $6.00, guys. SIX DOLLARS. You can't beat that deal with the bread stick it came with! The meatloaf was hot, meat, and sliced loaf. No complaints. The two sides were probably canned beans and fake taters but they were a great portion, hot, and actually tasted good. I mean you're at a diner. Don't expect haute cuisine and you won't be disappointed. J of course ate like a three year old and got the combo app platter which came with two chicken tenders, onion rings, potato skins (which were actually potato spears), and mozzarella sticks. Ton of food, not fancy, but filling and good enough for Picky Pants. Oh yeah, in case it matters to you, the unsweet tea is real tea. We suspect the sweet tea is a mix. Cool name; clean dining area; so/so food. To be fair, I am only judging it on one meal, and they have a pretty expansive menu. I ordered an omelet with chicken, mushrooms, and cheese, but it really had no flavor. I couldn't taste the cheese, and the chicken wasn't seasoned at all. I ended up having to cover it in hot sauce just to wake up my taste buds. My wife was a little happier with her meal, as she got poached eggs, which were cooked all the way through - the way she likes them. However, she did order three and they only brought two. The highlight of the meal, by far, was the fact they gave us our own carafe of coffee for the table (which we filled twice). But even with that, I can't imagine ever going back, for breakfast at least. read more

I dined in here for the first time yesterday, and overall it wasn't too shabby. I came with my mom and she ordered a BLT, and I ordered a grilled chicken salad, along with an appetizer combo platter. Our appetizer came with about 4 onion rings, 3 mozzarella sticks, 2 chicken tenders, a handful of loaded potato wedges, and a nice helping of ranch for dipping. Everything was really good, although the potato wedges were quite thick and could have cooked a bit longer. The center of the wedge was a little tough, other wise they were great. My mom said her BLT was pretty good, she preferred if her bread was a little bit more toasted though, but I know her and I know she likes her toast almost black haha! It was huge too and she couldn't even finish it. My salad was okay, I truly wasn't wowed by it. It came in a gigantic bowl, and with a lot of ranch. There was very little veggies in my salad and more fries than anything. I would have preferred more lettuce, tomato, and chicken. The thing I thought was extremely weird about the salad was that they gave you a bunch of triangles of pita bread and called them croutons. This was a huge turn off to me because I love croutons on my salad, not bread. The whole presentation of the dish was just depressing honestly. The ranch is fantastic though! The staff was very friendly, but there was a small group of staff members standing in a circle talking in the middle of the restaurant. A little offsetting considering that the place had quite of few people dining in. Overall I'm happy with the experience, next time I'm definitely not ordering a salad though. read more

We were out of towner's in New Castle on a Sunday evening. Seems Hugger-Mugger was about the ONLY local dinner open in town so we went for dinner there. It's a quaint little place decorated from a few decades past and reasonably clean. Right on the main drag, big sign, and plenty of parking. Lots of booths and a few tables for bigger groups. The hostess was not overly friendly but the waitress made up for that. She was really hustling and very organized and friendly. Took a bit to get our food, but it was busy so was understandable. Super service, better than average food and generous helpings at a very reasonable price. We would stop in if we are back this way again. read more
